Hedda Gabler is performed with one 15-minute intermission. Out of respect for the audience and the artists, patrons who leave the theatre during the performance will not be re-admitted. We regret there is no late seating once the performance has begun. 4

There is no photography, video or recording of this performance allowed.

ABOUT THE PLAYWRIGHT Great World Literature is in our blood. In the past 15 years, we have presented more than 100 works from some of the best playwrights who have ever lived. Now, we are pleased to be presenting one of Henrik Ibsen’s greatest plays, Hedda Gabler. In his lifetime, from 1828-1906 Ibsen was largely responsible for the rise of realism in the theatre. In works that possess revelatory power, Ibsen challenged his audiences to question conventional morality and social conditions. Often controversial, his works were deeply unsettling to many of his Victorian contemporaries. He is now widely regarded as the “father of modern drama” and one of the greatest dramatists who ever lived. Enjoy.
