MAKING BETTER COLLABORATION HAPPEN! AAK offer facilities for testing dairy and plant-based products in a state-of-the-art pilot plant. AAK is an ingredient producer with a strong heritage and a dedication to vegetable oils and fats. We have solutions that fit both traditional applications replacing milk fat partly or fully and solutions that are specifically designed to meet the needs within Plant-based Dairy. Using our well proven Co-Development approach, we work with our customers to explore opportunities together. At our Dairy Customer Innovation center in Karlshamn, Sweden we have in-house capabilities and resources to work with customers in concept development, product trials, data analysis, sensory testing, and technical trainings; all in the same building. Digital solutions Starting this year, we have taken a step into the digital era, by offering remote training and support from our R&D center to our customers by a live video link. In uncertain times with travel restrictions and cost of travel being scrutinized this is a perfect complement in our co-development journey with customers to be agile and available even though we cannot physically meet. We have already seen that this digital solution opens for faster development iterations and the ease of attending makes it possible for additional customer functions to attend online. A more shared understanding of the product development process and competences & capabilities will enable better and faster decisions with increased speedto-market. Customner Innovation Center When you enter the Innovation center in Karlshamn you will be welcomed into an environment with focus on the development process and joint creation accompanied with strong focus on hygiene, quality, and professionalism. The heart of our facility is the pilot plant but just as important as support to the pilot is the analytical lab, sensory panel room and our innovation teams. In our dairy pilot plant, we can process a variety of different products ranging from soft serve and scoopable ice cream, various cheese products, spreads, whip-

ping creams, sour and fermented products, both chilled and UHT treated. We have both DIS and UHT options, ice cream freezers, mixers for processed cheese, and traditional cheese processes to mention some. Speed to market In the pilot we can mimic all the steps in a given process and combine the individual processing steps in a way that resembles the customers process the best way possible, thereby making it easier for the customer to translate the results form the trials in the AAK pilot plant to his own factory. With these small-scale trials, it enables us to perform multiple trials a day, which will bring solutions faster to the market. In connection with the trials we can provide analysis and evaluation that supports customers decisions and route forward with for example by measuring the functionality of cheeses, measuring the whipping abilities of a whipped topping or testing the drop stability for ice cream all under conditions defined by the client in order to make it as realistic and close to the actual conditions as possible.
