Dante’s Pizzeria Gluten Tolerant Dough Since 2006 Dante’s Pizzeria have hand stretched their pizzas and used only a brick oven in the cooking process to seal in all the authentic Italian flavours. Dante’s are committed to the standard of excellence and were the first pizzeria in New Zealand to be recognized for making authentic Neapolitan Pizza. Unhappy with this commercialised ‘fast food’, faithful Neapolitan pizzaioli (pizza chefs) sought to preserve the authentic Neopolitan pizza. This method makes Dante’s pizzas suitable for gluten intolerant customers but the added antioxidants make it good for you too. Sounds like pizza heaven for everyone!

After a little under one year of offering quality cocktails and elegant meals from Ponsonby Road, MR TOMS brings ‘The Kitchen’ to life.

Sharing the same values of good old fashioned hospitality, quality products and the same location, ‘The Kitchen’ is an expansion of the MR TOMS brand and beliefs, yet it’s very own venue. The Kitchen by MR TOMS focuses on the elegant and quality creations of head chef Mr Tom Williamson, whilst keeping the perfected art of cocktails available from the bar above. If a well thought out wine to match is more your market, a set of matching wines for each meal is also on offer. The Kitchen offers an element of secrecy, down the stairs and through the sliding door in the bar MR TOMS, or through the actual open kitchen itself off Anglesea St. With greenery alive everywhere, this location is heavy with class, atmosphere and old school quality service.

THIS ONE NEVER PASSED THE JUDY TEST Since he started making wine in 1958, Joe Babich has learnt a lot about what makes an easy drinking fine wine. But one of his measures is unique. To know if a new wine will really make the cut, he takes it home to his wife Judy. If that bottle stays on the kitchen bench unfinished, he’s got more work to do. Antoine’s From the menu

Antoine’s is an experience not to be missed. Owners Beth and Tony Astle have presided over Antoine’s since 1973, serving presidents, royalty, rock stars and of course, lovers of fine food and wine. Antoine’s Restaurant proudly creates a feast of New Zealand cuisine with distinctively French-European undertones. It is both classical and innovative as diners choose from the popular Nostalgia Menu or the regular Table Menu featuring daily specials. Beth and Tony take enjoyment in regularly reviewing their menus, which evolve with Tony’s annual overseas visits to research new dining trends. As you ring the brass door bell of Antoine’s, hidden away in a brick courtyard off Parnell Road you may begin to smell the aromas drifting from the kitchen. Your impeccably dressed waiter will usher you to a table of white linen. French and local wines feature in a vast private cellar selection. You’ll find an extensive range of French champagnes, and on request, Antoine’s has an exclusive cellar list of fine wines from Bordeaux and Burgundy. Enjoy subtle lounge music while you’re treated to an evening of fine dining. After four decades, we are still certain Antoine’s Restaurant remains one of the finest dining experiences in Auckland, if not New Zealand.

Hilton FISH Your favourite Auckland dinning destination is back! Hilton Auckland introduces a contemporary concept of dining at FISH Restaurant by bringing fresh flavours and a harbour inspired interior back to Auckland’s dining scene. The new modern interior focuses on elements seen in the uninterrupted spectacular Hauraki Gulf views. Soft cooling tones of blue reflecting the ocean and warming earth tones reflective of the wharf itself are incorporated throughout. An expansive outdoor dining area featuring a large fireplace allows guests to experience al fresco dinning all year round. The exciting new menu has a strong sustainability and freshness ethos. Dishes celebrate local produce from land to sea and are quite simply suitable to a range of tastes. Wine pairings are also available from FISH’s extensive wine and beverage menu that feature local and international tastes. Head Chef Fraser Shenton along with My Kitchen Rules judge, Chef Gareth Stewart is behind the dynamic menu and says that the reopening is an amazing opportunity “to take a modern route to the way we present our food. Simple and as close to the water as possible” Located on level 1 the all-new FISH Restaurant incorporates all that it means to be fresh and contemporary with a menu that is as enticing as the spectacular views. Ebisu From the menu

Ebisu takes the traditional values of Japanese cuisine – freshness, simplicity, painstaking attention to the quality of ingredients – and fused them with the buzz and excitement of contemporary dining. Occupying a historic building in Auckland’s Britomart precinct, Ebisu serves up contemporary Japanese fare. Ebisu draws on a combination of classic Japanese and European techniques to present an outstanding mix of new style sushi and sashimi as well as traditional Japanese dishes. In Japanese mythology, Ebisu is the god of daily food, good lucky and plenty. He is also the guardian of fishermen and merchants, making the restaurant’s location a fitting one. The stripped down design of Ebisu makes the most of the soaring ceilings, large arched windows, exposed brickwork and raw timber columns of the character space. A glassed off indoor terrace lets in light and views from Quay Street and creates an intimate space for group dining or events. Unusually on the Auckland dining scene, Ebisu also introduces live music and DJs into the restaurant, adding to the contemporary atmosphere. Ebisu has been honoured with many awards and accolades in its short lifespan and is sure to exceed your expectations.

Artwok One of Takapuna’s newest residents, Artwok, cleverly plays homage to the past whilst serving up modern Asian cuisine in a fun and energetic environment. Nestled along Takapuna’s ever-growing food strip (Hurstmere Road), Artwok is a popular choice for mid-week date nights or getting a group together to order up large and share the flavorsome dishes between you…the latter being our preferred choice because it means you get to experience more of the mouthwatering dishes. Just have a quick glance over the menu and you’ll get what we mean. Taking inspiration from classic Chinese street food, owners Jill and Yan have created a contemporary, vibrant space serving up a menu of authentic Chinese dishes, using the highest quality New Zealand produce. It is obvious this multi-cultural crew have a passion for food (and a keen sense of fun) and are all about enhancing the customers ‘Artwok’ experience. “It’s about educating our guests when it comes to what is true authentic Chinese food and pairing these dishes with great local craft beer and delicious New Zealand wines.” The stylish decor encompasses unique objects, perfect for conversation starters and the presentation of the beverages and food is an artform in itself.

Oyster and Chop Oyster&Chop is devoted to food you’ll love and the best service we can provide. Our menu is full of classics, done better than ever. With magnificent water views out over the harbour basin, you can enjoy an indoor or outdoor table. We have the best oyster bar in Auckland. At any one time we have access to up to 10 varieties of oysters, freshly shucked and prepared and served in seven different ways in our bright and breezy oyster bar. Of course, we love red meat. If you have a difficult time deciding what to order, let us help with our pork chop with roasted Brussels sprouts or our 300g Angus Pure sirloin steak served with a choice of six sauces and butters. We always have plenty of seafood choices, fresh from the market daily, including our classic beer-battered fish and chips, tuna tartare or West Coast whitebait fritter. And to finish off your meal, there’s nothing better than our bread and butter pudding or baked Alaska. Our people live and breathe inspirational cooking and superior service. For our executive chef Darren Lim, and head chef Bob Lun, this means a mastery of the classics, with a twist. And a consistently high standard so you’ll always want to come back. Great food needs great wine. And our walls tell our wine story with a display of the many highlights from our list. In the end, it may be something undefinable that separates a great restaurant from a good one but we want to give you an experience that brings you back to our special restaurant every week…

From the gastropub style tapas, stone baked pizzas, to the delicious Grey Lynn Butcher sausages and satisfying main meals, the menu has been carefully crafted to suit just about everyone. The effortless nature of the decor provides a sense of welcome and ease. Enjoy watching the daily hustle go by as you pull up a seat outside in Vikki Lane under the gorgeous festoon lights. 16 TUN 16 TUN is a ‘Free House’ in Wynyard Quarter’s North Wharf that specialises in craft beer. What is a ‘Free House’ you ask? Well, in this case, it means free from having to stock the products of just one brewery. Unlike most beer bars, which are ‘Tied Houses’, 16 Tun can offer customers the carefully crafted beers of independent brewers from all over the country, giving you more brews to experience. The bar and eatery is passionate about providing the best beer New Zealand has to offer. Even its name is a nod to the brewer’s noble art. A tun is an insulated brewing vessel used in the mashing and lautering stages of beer making. The bar and eatery has 19 craft beers available on tap, with a bottle range that exceeds 70 different beers, across a myriad of styles from Stout and Porter through to IPAs and Pilsners. The 16TUN kitchen provides a wide variety of crafted Kiwi food in ‘half tun’ and ‘full tun’ portions that are perfectly matched by the chefs to the craft beer being served, using only the freshest ingredients and making everything by hand. The interior fit-out elicits visions of pioneering New Zealand with a focus on copper fittings and timber walls. Seating booths feature steel and wood with soft furnishings, and exposed light fittings control the ambient mood.

WELLINGTON

Apachè Through a Vietnamese and French collaboration, the APACHE menu explores the best of Chef Le’s modern inspiration. The menu is designed to excite not only your tastes buds, but table conversation also, as the contemporary twists on the traditional begin to excite your belly and mind. Using local, organic and gluten free products where possible, his Wellington ‘new-comer’ looks towards the fresh & healthy Vietnamese cuisine to fuel Wellingtons bustling lifestyle. The name APACHE comes from the nickname of a female guerrilla sniper from the Vietnam war and roughly translates to ‘hooligans.’ The restaurant demonstrates a modern take on popular Northern Vietnamese hawker street food, with a touch of French influence. Using Angus beef, free range pork, chicken and eggs, the menu balances the 5 fundamental Vietnamese flavours: spicy, sour, bitter, salty and sweet. All their dishes, both small and large are designed to be shared and enjoyed with many like the busy streets of Hanoi. For large bookings (10 or more people) APACHE offer banquet menus, which are a selection of current house favorites. The drinks menu has been carefully selected from their favourite local breweries, to the best of local wineries. They invite you to ask your waitress for the best combination for your night in at APACHE.

INTERNATIONAL - FIJI

Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa For Ten years, V Restaurant has been preparing and serving Pacific inspired innovative food, infusing the freshest local ingredients with the highest cooking standards and a touch of French flair to produce an outstanding dining experience. The passionate culinary team led by Executive Chef Stuart Blair encourages diners to take their time to explore the menu and extensive wine list. Proudly Fijian with local artwork and motifs adoring white walls and influencing its decor and design, V restaurant is also unapologetically chic. Thanks to Sofitel’s subtle French influence, V is Denarau Island’s most genteel restaurant, complete with crisp white table cloths and an equally refined service that frequently impresses diners from as far afield as Sydney, San Francisco – or even Sigatoka. Menu highlights might include such dishes V signature lovo braised pork belly and scallop, Lovo and glazed belly of pork, seared scallop with charred pineapple salsa, sweet chilli and peanut caramel or a Vanilla and pistachio parfait with chocolate sauce, caramel glass, mixed berry compote and chocolate twirl.
