It explains which expert companies have elected to join, and been accepted, into the MEI professional community; what type of support can be offered to your organisation, and how that is organised. It is therefore your reference document, updated annually. You are welcome to contact us at any time to ask for an updated version, or to enquire about joining the network. The drive to deliver events at lower cost, higher impact for fans and greater profit for stakeholders, whilst managing risk, has never been more pressing than in the new normal of having to live with COVID-19. The sliding scale allows tailored support to be matched to the available budget. Exclusivity is not solely based on fees paid-concept and can be explained. Should you wish to do more we move up. This is a service which closely resembles a “department” level of service to meet demands within the levels of effort as defined at the pre-contract final meeting. A project approach in terms of regular meetings are encouraged but with the option of more frequent contract outside these review periods.

An under leveraged area of Supplier and Event Host operations is the use of Framework Contracts. MEI can use the EDM approach to help inform multi-year or multi-event frameworks which provide insights into economies of scale which also assist with event planning resilience and enhances trusted relationships. This delivers significant advantages for all parties. Should this be of interest, we can facilitate a process of dialogue to better inform what this entails.
In-Country Support Suppliers can request that MEI provide a local office to support their operations. The scale of representation can range from a single MEI representative, to the permanent presence of representatives or hot desk ad-hoc market visits. We welcome enquiries about support. The EDM offers tiered support to Bid and Host Cities by providing a single point of contact access to experts to help them achieve their objectives. These objectives range from seeking to attract more events, bid support to event mobilisation wider city activation. Never has there been a better time to access those who can support events with insights about lower cost and risk, resilience and revenue generation. Due to the focus on the visitor experience, the appropriate mix of new and temporary enabling facilities, and the enduring need for safety and security of crowded places, advice will be shared about mitigating some of the challenges of event delivery in an unpredictable global pandemic.

Mobilisation: Once an event has been agreed for hosting, MEI can act in a liaison role with the Rights Holder as well as provide early consultancy via the EDM approach, some of which will be at no charge to facilitate early engagement. Event Delivery: In much the same way as mobilisation, the same access to expertise can be facilitated. Final test event support can be provided as part of the final lap support. Changing requirements can be briefed to MEI for “best endeavour” resolution. Request for Support: Requests for informal dialogue, round table type discussions or workshops are available either generally or on specific subjects or sectors. Framework longer-term arrangements are within scope of discussion facilitated by MEI, and the Tier 1 EDM provider will also be able to discuss various support options about embedded or dedicated point of contact support with the potential for some form of Value in Kind or sponsorship options.
Event Attraction Support MEI is able to leverage well established trusted relationships to accelerate the process of engagement with Rights Holders and support the assessment of which events are likely to be best suited to the Host City. Event Attraction: Workshops initiate a process of verification of target events ranked in order of importance and growth in status/size - looking out to a 10 year horizon. MEI can provide the initial contact with the target Rights Holder pre-submission of any formal declaration of interest. MEI can then facilitate the process of clarification of what is required to host, sustain dialogue to the “proceed/don’t proceed” point. Bid Support: Enhancing the capabilities of existing bids, conducting independent external reviews, market profile to raise awareness of hosting capabilities and intentions can enhance the probability of success.
City Level Legacy The often used and misunderstood term of “Legacy” is a major MEI offer to ensure there are tangible Business and social impact benefits from event hosting beyond the often stated Tourism and short-term event spike in the local economy. These have to form a vital part in any BId and or Business Case. Significant experience in bets practice is available to BId and Host Cities. MEI
capabilities include capacity building for local businesses to service their events and grow the potential for country wide , or international future operations via workshops and mentoring. City activation to include Cultural events aligned to, and extending, the benefits of the core event requires multi-agency coordination which MEI can support. Trade events can also be a part of the demonstration of capabilities of cities. MEI can advise on programmes, format and facilitation.
International Market Profile & Representation Leveraging the extensive partnerships with conference and expo organisers, MEI summits and attendance at significant events, MEI is able to act as Ambassadors for Host Cities and to establish interest in follow up conversations without the Cities always being present, thereby saving time and cost. With assets such as the Annual handbook and Digests , use of social media, MEI can support the marketing plan of Host Cities. Losberger De Boer gets the job done - no matter what Planning, organizing and hosting a major event is no small feat. No matter how good your script is (and how many years of experience and expertise have gone into drafting it), or how good your team is, at any point, you are likely to be confronted with unforeseen circumstances, setbacks or events beyond your control. When that happens, it is important that you have partners that you can depend on, that you can trust to get the job done no matter what.
Premium event structures supplier Losberger De Boer demonstrated just that, when continuously changing Covid-restrictions made life very difficult for all the professionals working hard to host the Barcelona ATP Tennis Tournament. Or when high-end hospitality buildings of unprecedented size had to be built within a very short timeframe at the 24 hours races at Le Mans.
Barcelona Open Banco 2021 ATP Tennis Tournament It’s safe to say that the road leading up to the 2021 edition of the Barcelona Open ATP Tournament, was a bumpy one. Event planning, ticket sales and construction were severely impacted by continuously changing Covid-19 restrictions, and the constant
uncertainty about in what form the event could be held (if at all). The challenge: Total capacity was reduced to less than 30% Regulations and restrictions changed continously

‘Every part had to be in the right place, at the right time’
Maria Rosa Cruells, General Director of the Real Club de Tennis Barcelona, was responsible for the event’s infrastructure on site. “During this pandemic year Losberger De Boer have continuously adapted to all the changes we requested, so that the tournament could be held with the maximum amount of security and preventive measures, as the authorities demanded”, she says. “Throughout the project, they have given us excellent advice and guidance, and in the end, they were even able to deliver an exclusive VIP club within the current restrictive regulations. They have been excellent.”
24h Le Mans, 2019 British car brand Aston Martin utilized a threestory hospitality accommodation by Losberger De Boer and iEvent to make their presence known at the famous 24H Le Mans. With so many big brands in one location, it's not easy to stand out. Aston Martin succeeded. The challenge: Deliver an eye-catching hospitality building in a crowded area, in a short amount of time In order to give Aston Martin the exposure that matches the brand's stature, an eye-catching, three-story hospitality accommodation was built, the company’s first ever triple-decker at Le Mans. The building was tailor-made, fully
branded and included a cinema space and additional terraces at both the entrance and race trackside. The real challenge for Losberger De Boer was making sure everything could be built within a very short time, especially since the company had to build numerous large buildings at the 2019 Le Mans terrain. "Our build sites were spread out over an immense area, where a lot of work had to be done by an enormous amount of suppliers and sub-contractors”, says Francis Scholten, Managing Director Rental Division at Losberger De Boer. “Moreover, everything had to be done within a few days." Within eight days, approximately 9 trucks full of material were handled and assembled in order to cause as little disruption as possible to the surrounding build sites. The 2019 24h Le Mans was not the first collaboration between iEvents and Losberger De Boer, and for good reason. “iEvent creates unique moments during major events”, says Lewis Ledouit, Communication Manager at iEvent. “To do this, we need to work with trusted partners, that are able to bring our creative ideas to life. Case Study In the last quarter of 2019, our client, CSM Sport & Entertainment (CSM) began planning for the Major League Baseball London Series 2020.
