The Major Events International (commonly referred to as MEI) work to help event organisers mitigate risk, minimise costs and maximise revenues/fan engagement. We facilitate safer, more profitable events with a longer lasting legacy. This directory of the MEI supplier network explains which expert companies have elected to join, and been accepted, into the MEI best-inclass community and what type of support they can offer you. It is therefore your reference document to find the best suppliers in the world to help plan and produce your events.

The drive to deliver events with ever-greater levels of sustainability and efficiency, higher engagement and passion for fans, and greater profit for stakeholders, whilst managing risk, has never been more pressing as we face increasing costs and workforce pressures. The Sports Grounds Safety Authority (SGSA) is the UK Government’s safety regulator for sports grounds. We have been improving sports grounds safety across the world for over 30 years.

We are authors of the Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds 6th edition (Green Guide) and SG03: Event Safety Management. They are internationally recognised as best-practice guides for the development and refurbishment of stadia and the safe management of events to ensure spectator safety, including management responsibilities, conducting risk assessments and developing an Operations Manual. Safety management at sports grounds has become more sophisticated and more professional and we set the standard for which sports grounds should aspire to in managing sports venues.

Event organisers, venue owners and operators use our guides to help prepare venues for major sporting events across six continents, at every World Cup and Olympic event since 2002.

Besides our guidance, we provide consultancy, advisory and bespoke training services across the world. In the last quarter of 2019, our client, CSM Sport & Entertainment (CSM) began planning for the Major League Baseball London Series 2020.

For an event scheduled to host 120,000 spectators over two days, the risks were significant. Ensuring that appropriate and comprehensive cancellation insurance in place was important.

After a review of alternative insurance programme structures, Miller successfully placed cover for CSM eight months before the event was scheduled.

With this being a major event, CSM was closely tracking the impact of the Covid-19 outbreak from late January, and as the months passed, the wider global impact became apparent. A few months on, there was no option but to cancel the event.
