HOW MEI SUPPORT RIGHTS HOLDERS MEI works to help support rights holders in multiple ways, largely based on the facilitation of managed introductions and sharing best practice.
Support Services – International Federations, NGBs, Sports Organisations & Event Organisers There are a standard range of support tasks which rights holders generally ask us to fulfil, but more bespoke projects outside this scope can be delivered: Host Cities We help build a pipeline of interested candidate host cities or regions. We can issue a proven initial engagement document which provides: background information plus a summary of obligations which require a short response but with a formal commitment with requirements, subject to final negotiation, can be met. A detailed summary of the rights holder deliverables and the city or regions’ detailed requirements. We act as an ‘interface’ at an ‘arms-length’ to save rights holders time.
Commercial Partner Introductions Sponsorship introductions are assessed on suitability for geographic presence or alignment to rights holder activities and or objectives. HOW WE HELP HOST CITIES A selection of host cities that have atteneded past summits:
Through our growing relationship with International sports Federations we are increasingly being asked to find host cities for iconic events and these range from regional championships, World Championships or their Annual Congress National Governing Bodies gathering. We have a dedicated team that cultivates relations with potential host cities and their convention centres to help with a bridge to the Federations providing a managed interface service. MEI can provide insights to new opportunities, match City aspirations to the needs of Federations and help support the development of your strategy optimising the time and costs from undertaking this work. With MEI staff in Lausanne providing a local
presence, time zone challenges, pre-meeting preparations and post meeting follow up action provides continuity coming from long-established relationships. Economic impact and how this fits into ambitions to host more events are areas where real focus can be delivered. In addition to matching the right city to the best matched rights holders/sports properties, we help host cities, LOCs, NGBs and other event organisers by introducing them to reliable providers of event services which could potentially include Value in Kind support covering visitor experience, infrastructure, overlay, safety and security, event technology and other best-in-class suppliers to help mitigate risk, minimise costs and maximise revenues.

PARIS OLYMPICS 2024 Celebration Site Design and Operation Paris Olympics 2024 are inviting organisations to design, develop, organise and operate a celebration site for the Olympics, located in Saint-Quentin. The site will be open for 15 days, attracting tourists, locals and partners of the Games. ICC 3D Signage Production and Management The ICC are actively seeking an organisation to provide the production and management of their 3D sign requirements. OFCOM Event Production Services OFCOM are looking to partner with an Event Production company to help deliver virtual, hybrid and in-person events, largely corporate-based. SYDNEY HARBOUR Event Management The Sydney Harbour Foundation Trust are inviting experienced organisations to tender for the event management of the site, with events such as music performances and culutral festivals. BRISBANE OLYMPICS 2032 Project Management Advice Officer The Queensland Train Manufacturing Program requires a supplier to provide advisory services for the QTMP, including the contruction of the facilities, trains and maintenance of the fleet for the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2032, and beyond. PACIFIC GAMES 2023 Staging Supply The SOL2023 Pacific Games organising committee are inviting companies to tender for the supply, installation and removal of staging elements required for the games, including the Opening & Closing ceremonies. FIFA FOUNDATION Digital Education Programme FIFA Foundation are seeking organisations to submit a proposal for the ‘FIFA Foundation Digital Education Programme’ to promote digital skills for students living in vulnerable communities.

FIFA WORLD CUP 2026 Dressing and Signage Services The FIFA World Cup division are looking for information from providers of a variety of Dressing and Signage Services for Global Sporting events for all competition venues, iconic city locations and miscellaneous projects associated with the 2026 World Cup. BRITISH BROADCASTING CORPORATION (BBC) Promotional Merchandise The BBC are seeking an organisation to tender for the provision of Promotional Merchandise for their Marketing and Communications Campaign. These will be given to audiences and members of the public at Exhibitions, Campaigns and other events. UK GOVERNMENT Security Services for the Royal Air Force Museum The Royal Air Force Museum requires a Security Services partner to provide security across its estate at Hendon and Cosford, with the RAFM considering options for two operating models: night shift hours (17:00 - 10:00) and a 24-hour model. SPANISH GOVERNMENT Construction Works Lasarte-Oria Town Hall are inviting organisations to submit a proposal for the delivery of Construction Works for the new Michelin Sports Centre. DEPARTMENT OF INFRASTRUCTURE, TRANSPORT, REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT, COMMUNICATIONS AND THE ARTS AUSTRALIA Management and Operation of Christmas Island Recreation Centre The Department are seeking an organisation to tender for the management and running of the recreation centre on Christmas Island, maximising the benefits of its facilities to the Island Community by increasing participation in sporting and recreational activities. FOREIGN COMMONWEALTH DEVELOPMENT OFFICE Transport Services for Major Events The FDCO will be hosting a number of major events in the period 2023-2025, some of which will require Transport Services. Some events are high-profile, including attendance from Heads of State or Government, attracting large media presence. MILAN CORTINA 2026 - WINTER OLYMPIC & PARALYMPIC GAMES Ceremonies and Torch Relays The LOC requires suppliers to tender for the Olympic & Paralympic opening and closing ceremonies, along with the torch relay. Case Study In the last quarter of 2019, our client, CSM Sport & Entertainment (CSM) began planning for the Major League Baseball London Series 2020. For an event scheduled to host 120,000 spectators over two days, the risks were significant. Ensuring that appropriate and comprehensive cancellation insurance in place was important. After a review of alternative insurance programme structures, Miller successfully placed cover for CSM eight months before the event was scheduled.

Events are about people and content While we’re going back and forth on the hybrid v virtual v live debate – and wondering whether we have the skills and resources to deliver different types of events – are we losing sight of what we’re here to do as an industry? This is why we believe events are no longer hybrid or in-person. They just are. Events have remote and live attendees – it’s simply a mode of content consumption and a method to expand audience reach.
