Reflective Essay During this unit I learned about the topics of bonds, stocks, and shares. This unit was difficult because I learned new vocabulary and was difficult learned each word, but it is important to know more vocabulary. However, does not matter how difficult can be each topic because I believe this information will help me in the future, for example, in my job as a secretary.
BONDS • A bond is a promise to repay the principal along with interest (coupons) on a specified date (maturity). Some bonds do not pay interest, but all bonds require a repayment of principal. • The Federal government, states, cities, corporations, and many other types of institutions sell bonds.
Stocks • It represents the residual assets of the company that would be due to stockholders after discharge of all senior claims such as secured and unsecured debt.
Shares • Represent a fraction of ownership in a business. A business may declare different types (classes) of shares, each having distinctive ownership rules, privileges, or share values.
