fter an eventful month of April, we have come to celebrate Labour Day, also known as International Worker’s Day. That sounds pretty much like a reminder for everyone to unwind, and traveling will certainly be one of the ideal options. Our cover story this month brings you to our newly launched destination, the enchanting Adelaide in Australia. Our inaugural flight received a warm welcome by Adelaide Airport and South Australian Tourism Commission most recently, marking this city as the fourth city that we fly to in the Australia continent. Get ready to have an adventure exploring the coastal capital and indulge yourself in a travel experience bursting with culture, flavours, events, and entertainment. Following our recent session with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, we are further committed to promoting Malaysia Tourism and connecting people, economy, and culture through our growing network. Upcoming, we will be a part of the much anticipated yearly fashion event - Penang Fashion Week 2019, which will take place from 3rd – 5th May on the renowned island of Penang. We have also brought you some insights on Georgetown, the heritage-rich capital city of this state, as conferred by UNESCO. Subsequent to that, we have partnered with Labuan Big Show (LAB’s), with the objective

to promote local tourism, for the fun-filled carnival including hot air balloon, mini theme park, food truck - food feast, street arts and more. You will get more insights on the local scene festivals as you read along. Our second Voyage story brings you to East Asia for the ancient city of Zhengzhou in EastCentral of China. Zhengzhou has also been bestowed as UNESCO World Heritage Site, some of which attractions include Dengfeng Observatory and Songyue Pagoda, while Mount Song is a UNESCO Global Geopark site, where the well-known Shaolin Monastery sits. The end of this issue highlights the updated customer care and ticketing office directory, which features the key customer touch points at all of the destinations within our network. As part of our efforts to elevate the service level for our passengers, these contacts and locations serve as a convenient guide for Malindo Air’s travel information and assistance. Following that, we have also branded our NU Sentral ticketing office, located in Kuala Lumpur city center as our flagship ticket office. This May represents a meaningful month, as it is also the holy fasting month of Ramadan. I have learned that it is the time to self-reflect, reconnect, seek forgiveness, and I personally am drawn to the festive spirit which is even more enticing with the vast offerings of traditional local food. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all Muslims, happy fasting and Selamat Berpuasa with your loved ones.

ADORABLE
ADELAIDE By Lesley Lee

delaide, capital of South Australia is quietly gaining a name as a great destination for visitors and with good reason. The Mediterranean climate, with mild winters and a warm, dry summer was perfect for early immigrants from Europe, who brought their cuisine with them. They also brought grape vine cuttings that have resulted in the excellent wines, olives and other food items that make the area in and around Adelaide a food lovers’ paradise. Later immigrants have also contributed to the rich diversity of food and cultural experiences for visitors, throughout the year. Adelaide is a very easy city to explore on foot. You also have a choice of buses, trams or free city bikes. Like most other State Capitals in Australia, the Central Business District (CBD) was planned before construction. The city is laid out on a grid to the south of the Torrens River with lots of green space surrounding the city and along the river. Pick up an exploring map or download it from the City of Adelaide website and sit down with a cup of coffee – there is plenty of choice for a good cuppa – and plan your route. The map is colour coded to help identify places of interest, houses of worship, where to eat and shop. 10 | M ALIND OM AG | APR IL 2 019

Walking Distance from City Centre Adelaide’s Botanical Gardens This is a public garden located at the north-east corner of the Adelaide city centre, in the Adelaide Park Lands. The Gardens are open every day until 6.30pm and there is a great range of well labelled local and exotic plants. If you are lucky, you may have the chance to join queues of enthusiastic locals flocking to see the corpse flower, titan arum (Amorphophallus titanum), which smells of rotting flesh. The plant blooms infrequently, lasting for only a few days, but it is definitely something to add to your travel tales. The Torrens River and the Famous Popeye Take a river cruise on a local heritage icon, Popeye. Relax and enjoy the scenery or use the trip to reach the Adelaide Zoo. Book online or get more information about the river cruise, their paddle boats or high tea. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday, or even a down day in a busy schedule, Adelaide ticks many boxes. A walk along the river with stops to watch the world go by, or a picnic on the grass are both good for the soul.
Top to Bottom: 1. Adelaide Botanic Gardens 2. The Torrens River 3. Adelaide Oval
Adelaide Oval The Adelaide Oval is on the northern bank of the river. Summertime sees many cricket matches in the grounds and you may even catch a Test match if you are lucky. The Oval has been home to the South Australian Cricket Club since 1871 and the Northern Mound, the Moreton Bay fig trees and the Scoreboard are all heritage listed. The South Australian National Football League (SANFL) have also called the Oval home since 2014. During the cooler months, the Oval hosts Rugby League and Australian Roles Football (Aussie Rules) games. You can do a Stadium tour, three times daily, but for the brave, we recommend you test your nerves on the Roof Climb. For an extra thrill, do the Night Climb.

Chinatown Adelaide’s Chinatown is the place to go for foodies and others looking for a vibrant shopping and eating experience, day or evening. Chinatown is within the CBD area, and the city is also home to a number of markets. The markets rival similar markets across Australia where you can find fresh produce as well as daily goods, general food items and locally made souvenirs. Look for local produce like olives, sun dried tomatoes and wonderful cheeses. The markets are also a great place to find a small café with artisan coffee and food items using fresh local produce.

How about a Festival? In and around Adelaide, you are spoilt for choice if you love festivals. This is a city that ‘does’ festivals in a major way and there is something on most months of the year. For almost 60 years, the Adelaide Festival has attracted interstate and overseas audiences to their internationally acclaimed offerings. World class theatre productions and top-notch musicians and dance are a great fit with events showcasing renowned writers and visual arts displays. Catch the Adelaide Festival the first fortnight of March, every year. The Adelaide Fringe is Australia’s largest open-access arts festival held from mid-February to mid-March and a great ‘destination’ in its own right. The Adelaide Fringe is world-renowned and performers from across the world show off their talents in a variety of pop up venues across the city. Apart from the usual haunts of theatres, hotels, art galleries, cafes and town halls, look out for them in parks, warehouses, lane-ways and empty buildings. They will be celebrating their 60th birthday soon too, so mark your calendar now. Also during March, visit Womadelaide, held annually the first weekend of March, a long weekend. This culturally diverse festival treats visitors to performances and workshops by some of the world’s best contemporary and traditional musicians, dancers, DJs, street theatre and visual artists. Shoppers and foodies will also love the hundred or so food, retail and charity stalls. All through the cooler months there are festivals. The Adelaide Film Festival in April, Dreambig Children’s Festival and the History Festival are on in May. June sees the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, followed by the Guitar Festival in July. The month of August is given over to the South Australian Living Artists Festival (SALA). After a quiet September, the OzAsia Festival hits the ground running the last half of October, followed by the Feast Festival in November.

A Day Trip from the City How about a day at the beach? Glenelg Beach is less than 10km from the City Centre which essentially makes it the city beach. Glenelg has been popular with the locals since 1870 and is reached easily by tram, offering a great day out for families, foodies and history buffs. Check out the heritage buildings, enjoy the food and coffee in local cafes and restaurants, or enjoy a picnic. You can easily pick up fresh salads, rolls and cold meats at a local supermarket or deli, or if you want to be adventurous, why not try a ‘barbie’. Many parks around Australia have public barbeques that are free to use. So bring along your meats and tools and away you go. Do remember to clean up when finished. Maclaren Vale The Maclaren Vale area, south of the city, is famous for its excellent red wines. Spend the day in the area tasting and enjoying the delicious food, but make sure you have a designated driver who does not drink, to ensure you do not get caught out by the strict drink-driving rules. You can also stop over in the area for lunch on a trip to Kangaroo Island further south. If you are a serious ‘winophile’ (oenophile) pick up a case or two to take home.

Barossa Valley North East of the city you will find the famed Barossa Valley with its heritage vineyards and communities dating back to German settlement in the 19th-century. One of these early vineyards is Tolley’s vineyard, dating from 1894. Look out for the local specialty - wines made from Shiraz grapes. Visit the local heritage towns including the German Hueffendorf village of Bethany and absorb the English heritage of Angaston. Drop by the town of Tanunda, familiar to those who grew up with the wine of the same name. Many of these high-profile wineries offer tours and cellar-door tastings and often have attached restaurants. Lunch in a vineyard setting with meals sourced from locally grown produce is a special treat. Some vineyard restaurants offer a degustation menu. There are small, elegantly crafted dishes, which you can choose to enjoy with matched wines.

Kangaroo Island Further south of Maclaren Vale, you will find Kangaroo Island, Australia’s third-largest island. While you can do a day trip, there is really too much to enjoy properly in just one day. However, there are many places to stay overnight or for an extended holiday. During long weekends or holiday periods, it is a good idea to book ahead. The island has a good representative population of Australia’s native animals including koalas and kangaroos living in their natural habitats. In addition, the island is home to several breeding sites of endangered Australian sea lions. These friendly animals are comfortable with human company, but their territory should be respected. It is helpful to have a car to get around, so you can take your own via Sealink Ferry from Cape Jervis, or hire one when you arrive. Cape Jervis is about an hour and a half drive south of the city.

Find it in the carpark along the Esplanade, close to the Causeway to Granite Island. The main whale watching season is between May and September, but local spotters report a few sightings even during other months. The Els Club Malaysia Desaru Coast The 45-hole property boasts two Championship courses, each designed by a world golf hall of famer. The Ocean Course, designed by the club’s namesake and four-time major champion, Ernie Els, is set on one of the most spectacular plots of land anywhere in the world. Overlooking the South China Sea the course can comprise of any two of the three 9-hole courses on-site, offering unique variability. Each layout has their own character and personal touches from Els, but they all take inspiration from the famous links courses spread across the UK, with large rolling greens and firm run off areas designed to place a premium on a sharp short game. The Valley Course, designed by three time major champion Vijay Singh is a completely different test. The small greens and sharp undulations mean that approach play must be precise in order to prevail against the course. If you’re looking for something fun to do in Malaysia between 13th and 28th July, head up to George Town, Penang for the 2019 George Town Festival. The festival is in its 10th year and after nine years of creative ‘blood, sweat and tears’ by Joe Sidek Productions GTF2019 will be managed and curated by TLM Event for the next few years. The Festival attracts international artists and past visitors have included the amazing Strandbeests – mechanical ‘animals’ that move with the wind, created by Dutchman Theo Jansen. Visitors in 2016 watched these kinetic sculptures appear to walk around the Penang Esplanade and along the beach. Other popular events are Chinese drum displays and concerts featuring traditional music and culture from around the world. One of our favourite performances was a beautiful demonstration of the Sarawakian Sape in 2016. Sheila Majid, Malaysia’s jazz queen performed at a concert on the Esplanade the same year. Some of the events are ticketed, but many are free. You’ll come across paintings, installations and photography exhibitions in many venues. We’ve enjoyed exhibitions in the Penang Museum, the restored buildings in and around Beach Street (Lebuh Pantai) and various cafes. Look out around the town for food. Penangites eat often, for fun as well as sustenance and the food trucks will be out in force at any events in an open venue. You will never go hungry in Penang. There’s usually at least one featured food event during the Festival. One favourite was the Laksa dishes from the different states of Malaysia. One of our favourite GTF events is the ticketed Penang Liar’s Walk, guided by the enthusiastic and ‘tricky’ Lusy Koror. It’s a very interactive activity, where participants are guided around a set route with stops along the way. At each stop Lusy invites two of the participants to each read a story about the location. One is true, the other isn’t. The players need to decide which is true. They’re not easy, but lots of fun.

“Look out for a performance by the Potehi hand puppets.”
Look out for a performance by the Potehi hand puppets. We caught their performance of the ‘Journey to the West’, with a live band of Chinese traditional instruments. The set and costumes were as you’d see in a traditional Hokkien opera, with narration, naturally, in traditional Hokkien dialect. For those who don’t speak this dialect, the synopsis is displayed below the stage in English. At the time of writing, the full programme for 2019 is not available, but based on the past few years efforts they will be working hard to fill big shoes. Last year’s headline events to kick off the festival showcased the culture of Kelantan and a group of dancers from Phnom Penh. This year’s programme has been compressed into two weeks, including three weekends, a festival of arts, music and culture. Choose from a smorgasbord of live performances, workshops, exhibitions,
talks and readings, film screenings, as well as various other activities. One important discovery we made - you need to book GTF tickets early. If you leave it to the last minute, you will probably miss out. To make sure you get the latest news and info about what’s on at GTF2019, check out their Facebook page GeorgeTownFestival. You can also drop by the Canteen at China House in Lebuh Pantai, they’ve long been supporters of the festival. They also have great coffee. Another great place to enjoy what’s going on is the old Hin Bus Depot. Many shops are closed on Monday, but it really comes alive on the weekends with market stalls and live performers. And here are a couple of fun facts to finish. George Town used to be a city, but now it isn’t. Some people mistakenly join the two words together. The town was established in 1786 by Francis Light and named after King George III. Enjoy!
This puppet documentary, ‘Father’, recorded the persistence of inheriting the culture of ‘potehi’ glove puppet by Taiwanese puppet master, Chen Hsi-huang as well as exploring the conflicts between him and his father. Photo by George Town Festival

My wife and I flew from Langkawi to K.L. on 3rd April. I am 6’ 3” tall and was a bit apprehensive about being cramped in my seat. I was very surprised at the extra leg space in the entire aircraft, and I could sit comfortably without being cramped up. The staff at the counter and in the plane were great and very welcoming. Great experience from Malindo. Will certainly fly on Malindo in the future. Anil Madgavkar LGK-KUL / 3rd April 2019

Zhengzhou By Emily Lowe
One of the National Central Cities in China, Zhengzhou, located in eastcentral China, is the capital of Henan Province. Situated along the southern bank of China’s famed Yellow River, Zhengzhou is the birthplace of the Yellow Emperor. As capital city of the Land of the Red Dragon, for a thousand years since the Shang Dynasty (1600-1046 BCE), it is no surprise that Zhengzhou is one of the birthplaces of Chinese Civilisation as well. In recent years, Zhengzhou has undergone an economic revitalisation. As a result, the new metropolis is experiencing rapid development in the form of infrastructure and construction, as well as a boom to tourism. Home to four of eight great Chinese ancient capitals, Zhengzhou is steeped in history and makes a wonderful travel destination for those who are interested in Chinese ancient history and architecture.

History The best place to learn about prehistoric Zhengzhou and old China is probably at Henan Museum, one of the oldest museums in the country. With an impressive collection of 130,000 pieces and counting, of cultural relic treasures and exhibits, including those from the Shang and Zhou (1046-256 BCE) Dynasties, Henan Museum boasts a total floor space of a staggering 78,000 square feet, in an eye-catching pyramidshaped building that was opened to the public in 1997. UNESCO Recognition Zhengzhou is the gateway to Shaolin Monastery, located at the foot of Mount Song. One of the best known international attractions, Shaolin Monastery was where Chinese kung fu was first established. Founded in 5th century CE as a Buddhist temple, according to records, Shaolin Temple is still the main temple for Buddhism today. Travellers who specialise in the exploration of UNESCO sites will be happy to know that Shaolin Monastery was inscribed as a UNESCO World

Other UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Zhengzhou are Dengfeng Observatory and Songyue Pagoda, while Mount Song is a UNESCO Global Geopark site, where the Shaolin Monastery sits. One of four greatest academies Together with Yingtian Academy in Shangqiu (Henan), Yuelu Academy in Changsha (Hunan), and Bailudong Academy in Jiujiang (Jiangxi), Songyang Academy in Zhengzhou is one of the four greatest academies for higher education in ancient China, teaching Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. Built in 484 as Songyang Temple, subsequently renamed to Songyang Taoist Temple, and finally as Songyang Academy in 1035, it was a classical educational institution which saw the birth of Neo-confucianism during Song Dynasty (906-1279). Visitors to Songyang Temple should look out for the steel of Tang Dynasty (618907) which was carved in 744, with 1078 Chinese characters. Another highlight is the stele of Mount Song Temple made in 535, featuring 94 Buddha figurines on one side, and a shrine on the other. Do also check out the stone carving of the map of Dengfeng County, a piece of art created in 1593, with detailed carving of scenic spots, landscapes, and towns of Mount Song and its surrounding areas. Chinese Buddhist Art Less than two hours’ drive west of Zhengzhou city is the Longmen (Dragon Gate) Grottoes, one of China’s three notable grottoes. It is home to some one hundred thousand statues of Buddha
Pride of Zhengzhou Meanwhile, in modern-day Zhengzhou, an icon of the city is the steel structure named Zhongyuan Tower, used as a television tower. This tenth tallest tower in the world, completed in 2011, stands at 388 metres. A good view of the city can be had from the observation deck of Zhengzhou Tower, which also houses the largest panoramic painting in the world, with a height of 18 metres and length, 164 metres, as recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records. The view from the top is enhanced as visitors enjoy a fine meal at its revolving restaurant. Access to the rest of China As Zhengzhou is a major transportation hub, easy access to the other parts of China is available via highway, railway, and airway. Being China’s biggest rail transit hub, two vital rail lines intersect in the city. They are Longhai Railway that runs from Lanzhou to Lianyungang and Jingguang Railway that connects Beijing to Guangzhou.

Wet wipes on board
Set your luggage apart from the pack. When passengers use ribbons and bows, they can be torn off in the transporting process. Your best move is to buy a suitcase in an unusual colour.
Always keep some wet wipes with you while traveling, as it can come in really handy for quick hygiene measures especially when travelling with toddlers

On a Tiger Trail in Madhya Pradesh
By Archana Singh
Malindo Air flies to NEW DELHI 11x weekly.
“Just a few feet away…the Royal Bengal Tiger crossed the dirt road…gave us a disdainful look…and vanished again in the dense forest.” At a crack of dawn on a misty morning, you head to the Pench National Park in an open-jeep along with your Naturalist. The chilly wind bites your cheeks and make your eyes water but you are well-prepared with several layers of winter clothing, woollen cap, muffler and a hot water bottle tucked under your blanket. As you enter the park, you see peacocks and monkeys jump from tree to tree…birds chirping in unison…a large herd of chital and sambar gingerly grazing in the grassland. Suddenly your naturalist hears an alarm call of a langur followed by the grunting of a deer. It is an indication that a tiger is on a prowl. A sense of alertness grips the group as you drive towards the distress call. As soon your jeep comes to a halt everyone crams onto one side to look outside. After a brief period of absolute silence, your patience is rewarded when just a few feet away the majestic cat reveals itself… the shiny orange coat with black stripes emerges from the thick foliage…the Royal Bengal Tiger crosses the dirt road…gives you a disdainful look…and vanishes again 34 | M ALIND OM AG | M AY 2 019
in the dense forest. Your day is made! You have found your treasure…after all, tiger is a treasure. This is not a fictional setting. But exactly what you’ll experience when you go on a Tiger Trail in the heart of India - Madhya Pradesh. The experience is so enthralling that even Rudyard Kipling couldn’t escape falling in love with it and penning it down in the ‘Jungle book’. While there are over ten national parks in central India, the two must visit are Pench and Satpura. Here you’ll see a variety of animals and birds including tigers, leopards, wild dogs, wolves, sloth bears, bisons, and wild boars to name a few. During the safaris, your naturalist will share in-depth knowledge about the undulating topography and wildlife. You’ll pass through an array of vegetation ranging from damp, sheltered valleys to open, dry deciduous forest. Satpura is unlike Pench, though they are just a few hours’ drive from each other. The former has a moist deciduous jungle with trees that are greener and taller than Pench. While in Pench there
are higher chances of Tiger sightings, in Satpura you can see rare animals like Giant Malabar squirrels and sloth bears. The Denwa River cuts a wide arc around the Satpura Park. During summer, the water level is low enough for jeeps to drive across, but in winters boats are required. The excitement wouldn’t end in the park. If you’ll stay at Jamtara Wilderness Camps in Pench, each night a lucky person will get a chance to sleep under the stars in the Star Bed - a glamorous machan in the middle of fields. Besides visiting the forests and the camps, you must explore the nearby villages and local communities adjoining the national parks that play a vital role in safeguarding these national forests today. Some local companies like Jamtara Wilderness Camps and Reni Pani Jungle Lodge not only provide a great Jungle safari experience but also connect you with the local communities that call these remote areas home. So, when are you heading on a Tiger Trail in MP?

Our brain undergoes more changes than any other organ as we grow older. While some of these changes are due to the natural consequences of ageing, we may develop conditions that can also affect our brain. The brain consumes more energy than any other organ in the body says Prof Yuen Kah Hay of Universiti Sains Malaysia. There is much to learn about the complex organ and why we need to nourish it to cope with the changes as we age. According to Prof Yuen, our brain takes up roughly 20 per cent of our total energy requirements. Our brain is nourished by a massive network of blood vessels. “Therefore, any damage to the blood vessels can lead to degeneration of brain tissues, possibly leading to neurodegenerative disorders such as cognitive dysfunction, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease,” he warns. Hypertension, hyperlipidaemia and diabetes are just some of the conditions that can damage the fine blood vessels in our brain. Controlling the risk factors of such conditions would be very helpful to maintain our brain health and against damage, and thus, Prof Yuen recommends living a healthy lifestyle comprising a balanced diet and regular physical activity. If we need a little extra help, neuroprotective supplements such as tocotrienols can be helpful. With its important nutrients, one of the best sources of brain food can be found in the tocotrienol, a member of the vitamin E family.
Given the important role that vitamin E plays in maintaining the health and functions of the nervous system, tocotrienols therefore have an important part. Palm oil is one of the richest sources of tocotrienols and it is formulated into soft gelatin capsules with specified dose strengths (50, 100 or 200 mg per capsule), to provide optimal benefits when taken as a supplement. Tocotrienol supplementation benefits the elderly as well as those who are younger but have risk factors that can lead to neurological problems such as stroke and dementia. The benefits of tocotrienol can be seen in studies on white matter lesions (WMLs). These are lesions that are formed in the white matter region of the brain, often due to small blood vessel disease and other conditions that can cause degeneration of
nerve fibres in that region. In a recent study on 121 human volunteers with WMLs, it was found that the mean lesion volume of the WMLs increased after one year, and further increased after two years, in the case of patients who were not given tocotrienol supplements. Those given tocotrienol supplements did not show any significant changes in their lesions, suggesting that tocotrienols are neuroprotective in nature. Recent studies have shown that WMLs are closely associated with cognitive decline and dementia. Hence, tocotrienols have the potential to be used in the preventive treatment of such neurodegenerative disorders. Their neuroprotective activity may help reduce injury of the brain tissues during an ischaemic stroke.

Arunodaya Prajapati Woodcarving Artisan at Heart Arunodaya Prajapati is an engineer by qualification and woodcarver by profession. His love for art and creativity was close to his heart from childhood days when his family owned a woodcarving business. He chose to continue his family business of woodcarving (Himalayan Wood carving Masterpieces) in Bhaktapur, Nepal and went on to start Peacock Guesthouse that showcased most of his work. He does the design for his woodcarving products like tables, statues, frames and windows which is also displayed at his Guesthouse. “I started Peacock Guesthouse with basic facilities and limited services. It took one year to renovate and a year to understand the needs of the guests,” said Arunodaya. “I upgraded and improved the facilities to meet the demands of our foreign guest. It was too much of work for me alone hence I asked my wife to join the team. “My passion was drawing and designing and apart from that, I love meeting lovely people and talking to them. The best part of my profession is designing things and meeting new people at the guesthouse and sharing my experiences and happiness,” added the proud owner of the Guesthouse. “The key ingredient for success
is the team I work with, who is full of creativity and ideas. We also keep improving and updating ourselves with the latest out there in the market besides our own creations. You should never stop learning. There is always something new or something to learn about. Arunodaya believes Nepal has lots of potential in hospitality business as it is a major tourist destination which is still untouched. We still need to improve on infrastructure and provide better facilities for tourists. The Peacock Guesthouse is recognised by UNESCO as a world heritage site. The building is an old architecture that has a history of over 700 years. Social media has become a very important tool in promoting any kind of business. Arunodaya uses this platform to further promote his business and passion. He feels it is important for hospitality industry to be active in social media in order to provide information to people. We will keep you comfortable on your journey like you never left home.
We believe that value-added service is what keeps our passengers coming back for more. Economy Class guests are entitled to between 15 to 30kg baggage allowance, depending on the destination. Our reclining leather seats onboard are made for an easy and fuss-free journey. They also provide extra legroom with a spacious 32” seat pitch. Keeping yourself occupied on a flight is now a thing of the past with the variety of TV shows, movies, documentaries and games on the in-flight entertainment system. There is something for everyone, young and old. The USB port affixed on each seat can be used to access files and gives enough charge for all gadgets. Just plug in, access and that is it! Enjoy a hot meal on flights more than three hours and a hot snack for flights less than three hours.
