LECTURE
Leadersmithing: an apprenticeship approach to making great leaders Wednesday 18th April 2018, 6 pm – 7 pm Lewis Lecture Theatre Tickets are required. Please book here. Joanna Lumley said she couldn’t put it down. The Chairman of EasyJet wished he’d read it years ago, and the Commandant of Sandhurst found it fascinating. Eve’s book Leadersmithing has been shortlisted for the Business Book Awards 2018, but what is Leadersmithing, and why should anyone care? In this talk, Eve will talk about the neurobiology of leadership, and about how leaders really learn. On the way, she’ll explain why the most challenging experiences you have at Malvern are your best investment in your future career. Dr Eve Poole teaches leadership for Ashridge Business School. She has a BA from Durham, an MBA from Edinburgh, and a PhD in theology and capitalism from Cambridge. Recent books are Capitalism’s Toxic Assumptions and Leadersmithing. She blogs for the St Paul’s Institute and the William Temple Foundation. She Chairs Gordonstoun School in Moray, and Faith in Business in Cambridge.

DRAMA
Grimm Tales by Philip Pullman, adapted by Philip Wilson A Lower School Production Thursday 21st & Friday 22nd June, 7 pm Temporary Drama Studio, Malvern College Tickets are required. Please book here. “All we need is the word ‘Once ...’ and we’re off.” Once upon a time, in a land far away... In a fantastical fairy tale world, Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel and Rapunzel follow their destinies alongside other, stranger folk: mythical creatures, proud princesses, wicked witches and bold princes. This bewitching and eerie patchwork of tales is woven by an ensemble of quirky storytellers. See them safely through the enchanted pathways and darker twists and turns of these age-old tales – if you dare… Author of His Dark Materials and The Firework-Maker’s Daughter, Philip Pullman’s retelling of the original stories by the Brothers Grimm appeals to adults as much as children, preserving their macabre simplicity and legendary fascination. The tales included are: Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, The Three Snake Leaves, Hans My Hedgehog and Hansel and Gretel.
