The making of a Mam'selle cover doll... It was a team effort judging all the images from the #mamsellecovercomp entries for the December issue. The Mam'selle editorial team worked over the weekend to ensure the cover image was perfect for the December 2022 issue. Editor Penelope was overwhelmed with the quality of the entries. It definitely made the decision very difficult. Jacqueline, CEO of Pedigree Publishing was on hand to advise, as was our Fashion Director Esther - as she normally oversees the Mam'selle cover shoots, so her input was vital.

The December cover doll winner is .... Entries for the #mamsellecovercomp came in thick and fast in October. Thank you to everyone who took the time to enter - and took a break from Hallo'ween posts to share some festive captures. The Mam'selle Editor Penelope, Publisher Jacqueline and the rest of the editorial team had a tough decision to make! They poured over every image and couldn't believe the quality, creativity and sheer beauty of the pictures shared. What a talented bunch of Sindy dolls you are! We tried some out on the cover but in the end the clear winner was.. Sally from @the_woodlanddollies The team decided the sheer simplicity, colours and gaze of Weekender really caught the eye and would make the perfect December cover. Plus, we had to consider what would look best at 1/6 scale! Massive Congratulations!
'As a little girl hoping for a new Sindy for Christmas, I never would have imagined finding such joy as an adult taking photos of this iconic doll and finding this amazing Sindy community. And now one of my girls is a cover star! What a truly magical Christmas for Sindy and me! @the_woodlanddollies

NOEL SINDY 1996 In 1996 Hasbro gave us not one, but two Christmas Sindy dolls. Noël Sindy (18628) and Festive Sindy (186572). These boxed dolls were uncatalogued and were identical apart from their outfits, making them instantly collectible. Noël Sindy was dressed for a Christmas ball in a red glitter full skirted dress with a gold glitter and white faux fur trim bodice. The dress was finished with a gold pom-pom tipped bow at the waist. She also came with a Poinsettia style flower hair accessory and two gold wrapped gifts.

FESTIVE SINDY 1995 Festive Sindy (186572) on the other hand is much more, well, festive with her full on 'Mrs. Christmas' inspired outfit. She too has a red glitter full skirt, but her bodice is a long sleeve red jersey with white faux fur trimmed cuffs. Her something extra has to be the luxurious fur trimmed Cape hood with a gold and pom-pom tie. This Sindy appears to be the rarer of the two - and is marked as £6 in this image. Which seems cheap even for 1996 - so it could be a sale price. Either way both are on our Christmas wish list.
