easter crafts Easter crafts are a great way to keep the whole family entertained over the Easter holidays. Why not try making some bunting to hang around the house or garden? Traditional egg decorating is simple - and fun.
You don’t need a sewing machine for this hat as it can be fully hand-sewn. You can also make a paper pattern to pin onto fabric just draw around templates onto paper. Thin felt is the perfect choice for beginners. Felt produces a good look even if cutting isn't 100% accurate. It doesn’t fray, is soft enough to sew curved pieces, and felt is unlikely to be colourfast. When marking out the fabric pieces with a pencil it’s easier to see the drawn lines on lighter colours. Take your time and use sharp dressmaking scissors to cut out the felt pieces neatly. Being accurate ensures the finished hat will be the right size.
Easter Hat Kit, £4.25, www.etsy.com/shop/LittleMissDressyUK
This Sindy hat pattern kit contains a printed set of instructions with photos, 2mm thick template pieces cut from premium grade MDF and a practice piece of felt. The templates can easily be drawn around with a soft pencil and they include a ¼“ seam allowance.

TIPS Add or remove strips, or change the size of the woven paper strips to create different size baskets. Fill with small flowers and use as a Easter display for your table or dresser. Try using different paper combinations for different looks. Red and green would look lovely for Christmas. For an eco version make from recycled Christmas, Easter, or birthday cards for a unique look.

A egg hunt should have directions to make it fair to all the 'hunters' but that doesn't mean you can't have fun! Hide hints, clues, or tasks along with the treats. Be sure to have plenty of baskets, buckets and pails for all those eggs.

The love story of Doris & Buddy Part three
Love Me or Leave Me
Doris Day starred in 'Love Me or Leave Me' in 1955
Doris and her sisters were at the annual Summer Garden Party. Then a handsome stranger arrived...
Who's that guy? The mystery doll had instantly caught Doris's eye!
His name was Buddy Dolly! He sure set off some fires by serenading the ladies with his current hit 'Listen to Me.'
SWOON!
They soon became close taking trips out on Buddy's scooter. Owen was spending alot of time out cruising in his new Cadillac with his twin Gavin. So, it was all just good fun, wasn't it?
It's been so wonderful to meet you Doris. I have to return to my tour very soon - will I ever see you again?
... to be continued
