Look at Me, I’m Sandra Dee At Sandy-Sindy’s first slumber party with the Pink Ladies she watches on as Bratz-Jan imitates a toothpaste commercial, MartySindy does bust-enhancing exercises and shows off her penpals...
The Sindy Pink Ladies were having a sleepover at Frenchy-Sindy’s house and ‘initiating’ Sandy-Sindy in the greaser group...
... whilst Rizzo-Sindy and Frenchy-Sindy try to teach SandySindy how to smoke.
The Pink Ladies also pressure SandySindy to try some dessert wine, after she told them she had tried some champagne once at a cousin’s wedding.
Frenchy-Sindy asks Sandy-Sindy if she can pierce her ears. As she goes to pierce them with a needle, she starts to bleed... so they rush to the en-suite!

Frenchy-Sindy leaves Sandy-Sindy in the bathroom, and joins the slumber party. She also reveals that she's going to drop out of Rydell High and go to beauty school.

Rizzo-Sindy suddenly pulls out one of Frenchy-Sindy’s wigs and sings a song making fun of Sandy-Sindy and her virtuousness...
“Look at me, I'm Sandra Dee. Lousy with virginity. Won't go to bed 'til I'm legally wed. I can't, I'm Sandra Dee”
The rest of the Sindy Pink Ladies start to join in and sing along.
“Watch it, hey, I'm Doris Day I was not brought up that way Won't come across, even Rock Hudson lost His heart to Doris Day I don't drink (no) or swear (oh) I don't rat my hair (eww) I get ill from one cigarette (ah-ah-eww) Keep your filthy paws off my silky drawers Would you pull that crap with Annette? Elvis, Elvis, let me be Keep that pelvis far from me Just keep your cool, now you're starting to drool Hey, fungool, I'm Sandra Dee.”
Just then Sandy-Sindy comes out of the bathroom and asks Rizzo-Sindy, ‘Are you making fun of me Rizz?’ RizzoSindy thinks dolls are so touchy!
The slumber party is interrupted when the TBirds show up outside and Rizzo-Sindy decides to join them - by sliding down the drainpipe.
Back in Frenchy-Sindy's room, Sandy-Sindy marvels at all the military boyfriends Marty-Sindy has. How does she keep them? "I'm a terrific penpal," she explains. Although, Sandy-Sindy is still upset over Danny Doll dismissing her at the pep rally earlier in the evening, so she heads outside to sing a song to him...
Sandy- Sindy is "Hopelessly Devoted" to him. She can’t believe how different he was tonight after all the time they spent together on the beach over the summer.

EAT: Most camps have a good restaurant for breakfast and dinner. We recommend you take lunch at alternate camps. TRY: Our favourite meal is a Buffalo Pie at Tonkwane pitstop (close to Skukuza) with a coffee and South African Milktart for dessert.
Kruger National Park is in north-eastern South Africa and is one of Africa’s largest and most exciting game reserves. This iconic safari destination opened in 1926 and is home to the Big 5: lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, and buffaloes. With mountains, bush plains and tropical forest areas all part of the landscape, hundreds of other mammal species and diverse birds like vultures, eagles and storks have all made it their home.

GAME VIEWING: The park offers various game drives at different rates. The luxury lodges around the Kruger don’t usually allow visitors to drive their own vehicles.
SAFARI DAY 1: Kate & Farrah are currently visiting the Kruger National Park. Today their game drive included the sighting of an elephant family digging for water in a dried up river bed. Later on, another river bed produced some elegant giraffes doing their "runway" strut.

Note from Natalya: Most of the Sindy shoots were taken at look-out areas where one is allowed to emerge from the vehicle. One is not allowed to leave the car at other areas, as the fine can be very high.

The Impala Lily grows well in the Kruger Park. This beautiful wild flower symbolises strength and resilience in the African culture.
SAFARI DAY 2: Farrah & Kate took an afternoon drive to "Red Rocks", close to the Shingwedzi Camp in the Kruger Park. This lookout point, with its enormous sandstone slab, has been named one of the "most beautiful places in the Kruger around sunset". The Sindys simply had to make the most of the photo op.
SAFARI DAY 3: "What is Africa without a camp fire?" Last night was camp night at Letaba Rest Camp. The Sindys enjoyed a yummy BBQ and roasted marshmallows afterwards by the fire.

SAFARI DAY 4: ‘Little Goddess in a tree the Gods were mad at.’ The African bushman's story goes that the god Thora took a dislike to the Baobab growing in his wonderful garden. Instead of tending to it he threw it out over the wall of Paradise down to the Earth below, where it landed upside down, but continued to grow.

No respectable home in the early eighties would have been without a record player or hi-fi system. Sindy got hers in 1983 with this Music Centre (44358). It was a stylish silver hi-fi with 2 speakers, 2 records and a very on-trend ‘smoked glass’ hinged lid. The record player was an actual working AM radio (the batteries were cleverly hidden in the back of the speakers).
