Convention centres form an integral part of the fabric and civic identity of our towns and cities. Due to their ability to accommodate large inflow capacities at a single time, these community buildings have the capacity to establish a small microcosm of public realm around them, thus, making a positive contribution to the place in which they sit. This thesis aims to achieve this by transforming a functionally driven sizeable convention centre into a centre for community, converting these massive structures into third places of the city.
