PRESIDENT’S letter Helllooo there! Being president during the school year sure is different to how it is during the summer but I couldn’t be happier with the way things are turning out! September was definitely a memorable month because we got to kick off our PB&J Project!! I can’t thank each and every one of you Key Clubber who have come out to help us make the sandwiches, its truly because of y’all that our project is able to run so smoothly! Just a reminder for future reference the PB&J Project takes place on the first & third Wednesday of every month! & I HOPE TO SEE YALL THERE NEXT TIME ON OCT 17th!! Thanks for being so awesome & making my term as Key Club President so great! I truly appreciate it & i cant wait to see your smiling faces at our next meeting!!

Everyday: Mission Arlington 7am – 7pm @ 210 W South St. Arlington, TX Volunteers are asked to do a variety of thing such as packing, organizing and shelving donations.
Sundays: Allies in Youth Development 2 pm - 4 pm @ 1315 FM 1187 Suite 107 Mansfield, TX Sort out donations , create toiletry kits and help pack boxes that will be sent over to orphanages in Eastern European countries.
Wednesdays: Kiwanis’ Feed the Kids 4:30 PM @ 150 South 6th Ave. Mansfield, TX Help unpack and bag food to help feed students within Mansfield ISD who live in economically disadvantaged households.

ALLIES OF KEY CLUB Gavin Wilson, President
The most important part about being a Key Clubber is, without a doubt, the service of giving back. Service is what the basis of both Kiwanis and Key Club is founded on and without that drive to give back and serve, none of us would be in such amazing clubs today. As a dedicated Key Clubber, I like to see that my service is actually going towards a good cause and I love to see the effects that my service has on both my community and the betterment of people around the globe. This is the exact reason that I love to volunteer at Allies in Youth Development there you get to really see the impact you are making in peopleâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s lives across the globe. Allies in Youth

development is a Mansfield based organization that works to provide essential necessities to orphans in Eastern Europe and Vietnam. I've been going to Allies for about a year now and it has easily become my favorite place to volunteer, because not only is it a fun experience but you actually get the chance to see the people you are helping, and that really means a lot to me. A typical day at Allies consists of sorting thousands of donations into boxes of clothes, shoes, toys and other such essentials. When the boxes get full it is time to actually make the care packages that will be then sent off to its destination in eastern Europe or Vietnam. We try to pack as much as we can in each box so we can make to most out of each package. In the end, we put a picture of the volunteers that packed each box inside so show the people receiving the box who it was that actually packed the box. It is so special to get back pictures of unboxing parties that the orphanages hold when they receive our packages, it really shows us just how much of an impact we can make from such a far distance. All of this really reminds me of why I became a Key Clubber. Sometimes when I feel down or feel the pressure of my Key Club responsibilities, I look at their pictures to tell myself why I do all this. Allies is the perfect example of a what Key Club and Kiwanis

We are one six weeks into the school year, and itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s about the time where you are starting to stress over all your work and questioning if you have any free time to do anything other than school work. But do not worry, if you can the survive the first first six week, you can survive anything. School can be stressful, but Key Club is somewhere you can relax and not worry about that 1000 word essay due next Monday. We started of our September with our first peanut butter and jelly project social. Our club was awarded the YOF grant so we could make 100 PB&J sandwiches a week to donate to a homeless shelter called the Arlington Life Shelter. Our PB&J socials give our Key
Clubbers a chance to get hours right at their school. Another new event our Key Club has been involved in is Green Team. Our Key Club has teamed up with Teen Leadership to help our high school recycle. Green Team is another volunteering group that meets weekly to help recycle things around school. Volunteers collect teacherâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s recycling bins from around the campus and take them to the recycling containers outside then return them back to their original classroom. It is just a small act of kindness to help out our school that goes a long way. This group is another opportunity for our Key Clubbers to get some hours in on their home campus. Along with our new events, our Key Club has some recurring events that we know and love. An annual favorite is Feed the Kids, a program where we volunteer to help pack bags of food for kids from low income homes within MISD who are at risk of not receiving meals over the weekend during the school year. We have been doing this event for a couple years now and it has become a tradition. The Key Clubs within our district are always competing to bring the most people. A little healthy competitiveness never hurt no one! We try to make it a little easier for our busy Key Clubbers by finding volunteer opportunities on campus. We know that not all of our members have time on their hands to spare, but we still want them to get their the hours they need and to bond with the officers and other members, so we try our best to find events to meet everyone's needs.

Hey Key Clubbers! This first six weeks has been a little hectic for me, but I managed to get through it. I hope y’all haven’t had as much trouble as I’ve had! Anyways, this month has been very important for us with the start of our PB&J socials. They’ve been very fun so far and they’ve certainly been helping many people. I’m glad that we’ve been able to have this opportunity, and we will continue using this to help so many people. I would also like to congratulate our new freshman class representative Nina Lien! I’m very excited to see what she Brings to our board this year!
