Recientemente inaugurada en nuestro querido barrio de La Boca, este importante polo cultural conforma un nuevo circuito sur junto al MAMBA y Fundación Proa. Una programación de excelencia convoca a porteños y visitantes a las salas de este edificio de enorme valor patrimonial. A esta propuesta se suma la Milla de los Museos para disfrutar de muestras de arte latinoamericano y contemporáneo en la Ciudad y otra iniciativa de turismo cultural a partir de recorridos guiados en bicicletas eléctricas por los museos y los monumentos porteños. Esta guía resulta una pieza esencial para un recorrido enriquecedor y más amplio. Su obra desafía las dimensiones del tiempo y el espacio y plantea una utopía realizable, una invitación a trasladarse por mundos y espacios inflables, movibles, modulables para experimentar sensaciones poco comunes. Con su título de Arquitecto de la UBA bajo el brazo, Tomás Saraceno viajó a Frankfurt para realizar un posgrado en Arte y Arquitectura en la Staatliche Hochschule. Y desde entonces inició una intrincada carrera artística que mezcla la ciencia, la arquitectura y las artes plásticas. Una de sus obras más destacadas fue Galaxias formándose a lo largo de filamentos, presentada en la Bienal de Venecia en 2009. El concepto de la instalación plantea una cierta analogía entre el origen del universo y las gotas de agua suspendidas en una tela araña. Durante este último tiempo, Saraceno se enfocó en las urbes del futuro, apelando a una percepción de nuevas realidades que desafían los límites de espacio y gravedad. Esta motivación dio origen a la serie Cloud Cities/Air Port City en la que propone, con ingenio y creatividad, un modelo de viviendas e interacción social basada en estructuras habitables y ecológicamente sustentables. La obra del artista es un constante llamado a la reflexión acerca del futuro y sus infinitas posibilidades. On the Roof, Cloud City, la flamante instalación realizada especialmente para la terraza del Metropolitan Museum of Art, pertenece a esta serie y consiste en 16 grandes poliedros interconectados, realizados en acero pulido y plexiglás traslúcido. Su estructura alcanza una altura aproximada de 8 metros y medio y forma un espectáculo visual que se asemeja a una molécula de proporciones gigantes. Como brillantes burbujas, sus caras reflejan las paredes del MET, el cielo, el Central Park e incluso la 5ta Avenida; de una manera desconcertante. Las imágenes distorsionadas son completamente transitables. Los visitantes pueden interactuar con los espacios generados y los escenarios alternativos que estimulan la imaginación. Pero como todo experiencia maravillosa esta también tiene un tiempo límite. Quien tenga la oportunidad de entrar a la constelación de Tomás Saraceno tiene 20 minutos para mirar, desde su calidoscopio gigante, una versión totalmente desorientadora de la realidad. • 31

His work proposes an achievable utopia, an invitation to travel to worlds and moving spaces, movable to experience uncommon feelings. With his degree from the University of Buenos Aires under his arm, Tomás Saraceno moved to Frankfurt to pursue graduate studies in Arts and Architecture at the Staatliche Hochschule. Since then, he launched a successful artistic career, which mixes Science, Architecture and Art. Galaxies Forming along Filaments, like Droplets along the Strands of a Spider’s Web is one of his most remarkable works that was exhibited in the 2009 Venice Biennial. The idea behind the installation poses an analogy between the origin of the universe and droplets suspended along a spider’s web. More recently, Saraceno has focused in the cities of the future, appealing to a perception of new realities that challenge the limits of space and gravity. This motivation gave raise to the series Cloud Cities/Air Port City, in which he proposes with inventiveness and creativity a model for social interaction and housing based on environmentally sustainable and habitable structures. The spectators collaborate in a new construction of a reality that playfully develops all around. Like temporary habitants of this modules, viewers take part in a true experience of multiple and interconnected realities. This way, the artwork constantly calls for inner questioning about the future and its infinite possibilities. On the Roof, Cloud City, the brand-new installation specially made for the MET’s rooftop, is part of this series and consists of 16 large interconnected polyhedrons made from polished steel and translucid plexiglass. Its structure reaches a height of 8.5 meters, forming a visual spectacle that resembles a giant molecule. Like shiny bubbles, its faces reflect the MET walls, the sky, the Central Park and even 5th Avenue; in a bewildering way. The distorted images are completely walkable. The visitors may interact with the generated spaces and alternative scenarios that stimulate their imagination. But as any other marvelous experience, it is limited in time. Whoever has the opportunity to enter Tomas Saraceno’s constellation will have 20 minutes to observe, through a colossal kaleidoscope, a totally disorienting version of reality. •

Expresiones contemporáneas El pasado 28 de junio, el MAMBA (Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires) inauguró Últimas tendencias II, una muestra que busca condensar un panorama del arte moderno y enlaza con la generación de los artistas presentados en Tendencias I, allá por el 2002. Esta vez, la selección de los artistas fue el resultado de la propuesta de un jurado externo integrado por Julia Converti, Valeria Balut y Marcelo Grosman, y con la aprobación final de la Dirección del MAMBA. Respecto al criterio de selección, Laura Buccellato, directora del Museo, nos explicó que, además de contemplar las posibilidades de preservación y reconstrucción de las obras, se trató de dar un visión lo más diversificada posible, sin una orientación. “Lo interesante para el museo es poder contar con la obra de una artista cuando comienza su lenguaje, y luego esperar a contar con una más madura. Las obras contemporáneas son el tejido y el significado de una sociedad, necesitamos mostrar este panorama antes de que se pierda entre las especulaciones del mercado”. Para Buccellato, debe ser el tiempo, y no las leyes de oferta y demanda, el que se ocupe de completar la lectura y de hacer su propio embudo para seleccionar a quienes finalmente queden registrados en la historia del arte. La convocatoria En total se congregaron 112 obras que pretenden vislumbrar el horizonte cultural contemporáneo. Su efectiva exposición no hubiera sido posible sin el trabajo y la generosidad de los artistas participantes, que aceptaron contribuir con el patrimonio del museo y donar sus obras para integrar la muestra. La metodología de esta convocatoria despertó una polémica que venía caldeándose silenciosa e individualmente en el taller de cada artista, y fue el puntapié que los llevó a organizarse de forma colectiva para formalizar su reclamo: algunos de ellos, que también suman su voz a las últimas tendencias, consideraron que esta no podía ser la única forma de participar, por lo que decidieron no donar su obra. Los Artistas Organizados expresan que “esta situación es solo una de muchas a las que se expone el artista” y proponen revisar las condiciones en que estas obras podrían ser incorporadas. Frente a esta escenario, Laura Buccellato expresó: “Así como el artista trata de comprender a través de su obra la realidad, como directora de un museo yo tengo la obligación de intentar completar ese pedazo de historia. tengo que hacerlo con la estrategia que el momento me permita. Todos los museos del mundo recurren a las donaciones”. El Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires pudo abrir sus puertas gracias a este importante patrimonio. Y, junto con la inauguración de la muestra, presentó un libro homónimo que documenta y analiza las últimas incorporaciones a la colección. “El objetivo es difundir y promover la producción de sus artistas en el país y en el mundo, y con su venta recaudar fondos para seguir contribuyendo a la preservación de las obras, que son el corazón del museo”, explicó Buccellato. A pesar de “Todo lo decisivo surge «a pesar de»”, reflexionaba Nietzche respecto a las desfavorables circunstancias en las que dio a luz a Así habló Zaratustra. Hay un museo en marcha. Un museo que reúne las voces de los jóvenes artistas, pero que también grita sus necesidades. Quizás la muestra Últimas tendencias II sirva de disparador para que, tanto dentro como fuera de sus puertas, los artistas puedan dar con los espacios y las condiciones necesarias para expresar sus mundos creados en la vida real. • — Contemporaneous expressions Last June 28th, the MAMBA (Buenos Aires Museum of Modern Art), opened Últimas Tendencias II, an exhibition that aims to condense a view of modern art and connects with the generation of artists presented in Tendencia I, back in 2002. In this opportunity, the artist´s selection resulted from the proposal of an external jury composed by Julia Converti, Valeria Balut and Marcelo Grosman, and with the final approval of MAMBA authorities. Regarding the selection criteria, the museum director, Laura Buccellato, explained that apart from taking into account the preservation and reconstruction possibilities of the works, they intended to have a vision as diversified as possible, without an orientation. “What it´s interesting for the museum is to be able to have the artist´s work since the beginning of its career and then wait for a more mature work. The summon Altogether 122 works that intend to discern the contemporaneous cultural horizon were assembled. Its effective exhibition wouldn´t have been possible if it weren´t for the work and generosity of the participating artists, that accepted to contribute to the museum´s patrimony and donate their works to integrate the exhibition. The methodology of this summon brought a polemic that was quietly and individually inflaming in each artist´s studio, and was the kick that lead them to collectively organize to formalize their complaint: some of them, that are also part of the last trends, considered that this couldn´t be the only way of participating, reason why they decided not to donate their works. The Organized Artist express that “this situation is just one of the many situations to which the artist is exposed” and propose to revise the conditions in which these works could be incorporated. In this scenario, Laura Buccellato expressed: “While the artists tries to understand reality through his work, as a director I have the obligation of trying to complete this piece of history. If there is no budget, I have to take the strategy the moment allows me to take. Every museum in the world resorts to donations”. Buenos Aires Museum of Modern Art could open its doors thanks to this important patrimony. And, together with the opening of the exhibition, presented an homonymous book that documents and analyses the last incorporations to the collection. “The objective is to spread and promote the production of its artist in the country and the world, and with its sale, collect funds to continue contributing with the works´ preservation, which are the museum´s heart”, explained Buccellato. Despite of “Everything that´s decisive arouses «despite of»”, reflects Nietzche regarding the unfavorable circumstances in which he gave birth to Thus Spoke Zaratustra. There is a museum that gets together the voices of young artists, but that also says out loud their needs. May be the exhibition Últimas tendencias II serves as a trigger to, both in and outside its doors, the artists can find the necessary spaces and conditions to express their worlds created in real life. •

De día montajista en Malba. De noche, acuarelista. A modo de superhéroe, Fernando Brizuela hoy forma parte de los artistas cuya obra hoy se encuentra en uno de los museos más importantes de la ciudad, con una obra hecha de marihuana. La planta será ilegal, pero la obra, entró sin chistar en el acervo del MAMBA, participando de la muestra Últimas Tendencias II. Brizuela cuenta que su primer enamoramiento con la pintura viene de la mano de una muestra en el CCEBA, años atrás, junto a Andrés Toro y Mariano Dal Verme. Mientras que su relación con el medio, está más bien ligada a León Ferrari, con quien tuvo la posibilidad de trabajar durante años, y quien de algún modo lo inspiró a buscar un nexo sano con el medio y la producción artística. Este personaje tan equilibrado crea, sin embargo, obras que generan una perplejidad absoluta, que denotan un costado irónico, un filo activista. Brizuela trabaja desde su comienzo con temáticas fuertes, pero familiares. La serie Historia Natural nos muestra amigables tigres, conejos, pero que, al prestar atención, nos damos cuenta de que tienen posiciones forzadas, están en un espacio blanco (no en una jungla o un corral) y tienen los ojos cerrados. Están muertos. Fueron cazados. Esto genera en el espectador una relación ambigua de atracción-rechazo. Brizuela juega con la doble intención de seducir al ojo desprevenido que ignora lo que en realidad está viendo. Con un efecto similar pero un tema completamente distinto, encontramos la serie Gaza. Se trata de paisajes del medio oriente que bajo su forma naïf poseen un trasfondo crítico. En esta serie Brizuela investiga, por un lado el género antiquísimo del paisaje, y por otro la impotencia y la rabia que le genera la invasión del ejercito israelí a la franja de Gaza en el año 2008. Otra vez, el espectador se acerca a algo que le es familiar, un paisaje que pareciera tener fuegos artificiales, para encontrarse con documentaciones de explosiones de fósforo blanco. Serie Cogollos Por una situación personal, Brizuela se vio con un interés cada vez más creciente frente a esta planta condenada pero con miles de usos positivos. Así como investigó para recrear imágenes de animales muertos, pintando pelo por pelo, o como indagó sobre los tipos de bombas utilizadas por la milicia israelí, esta vez, se concentró en el estudio botánico de la planta. Siempre tuvo fascinación por las plantas, pero ésta tenía la particularidad de poseer la característica que tienen sus obras: ese costado provocador, denso y oscuro. 45

Esta serie, que cuenta con estudios de cogollos de marihuana y esculturas de muñecos de plástico cubiertos de la misma planta, toca el tema del monstruo aterrador y tremendo que puede representar la marihuana para la sociedad en la que vivimos. Una sustancia criminalizada, que da miedo. Presentado a modo de paisaje arbóreo en un cuerpo rocoso, los King Kong o Hulks de marihuana son el granito de arena que Brizuela aporta al debate sobre la tolerancia hacia una sustancia que ya está despenalizada y que se usa con fines curativos en muchos países del mundo. Esta obra crea un vínculo indeterminado con el espectador: por un lado, quien ve la ironía de la obra, la disfruta, y por otro, quien se indigna frente al monstruo comprende la metáfora escondida en la escultura. De un modo u otro, cada uno tiene tiempo para crear su propia opinión sobre la polémica obra hasta el mes de septiembre en Últimas Tendencias II, donde comparte espacio con más de 100 colegas en una muestra de arte contemporáneo. — During the day, film editor at Malba (Buenos Aires Latin American Museum of Art). At night, watercolorist. As a superhero, Fernando Brizuela, is nowadays part of the group of artists whose work is in one of the most important museums of the city now, with a work made of weed. The plant may be illegal, but his work, got straight into MAMBA´s (Buenos Aires Museum of Modern Art) heritage, participating in Últimas Tendencias II exhibition. Brizuela tells us that he first felt in love with painting when he visited an exhibition at CCEBA (Spain Cultural Center in Buenos Aires), some years ago, together with Andrés Toro and Mariano Dal Verme. While his relationship with the media, is more connected to León Ferrari, with whom he worked during some years, and who in some way inspired him to look for a healthy link between the media and the artistic production. However, this so balanced character creates works that generate an absolute perplexity, that denote an ironic side, an activist edge. Brizuela works since its beginnings with strong, but familiar thematics. The series Historia Natural shows us friendly tigers, rabbits, but that when we concentrate, we realize that their positions are forced, they are in a white space (not in a jungle or corral) and their eyes are closed. They are dead. They were hunted. This generates in the spectator an ambiguous attractiveness-rejection relation. Brizuela plays with the double intention 46

of seducing the unprepared eye that ignores what he is actually seeing. With a similar effect but a totally different subject, we find the series Gaza. This is about landscapes of the Middle East that under his naïf manner have critical backgrounds. In this series Brizuela investigates, on one side the ancient gender of landscapes, and on the other side the powerlessness and anger generated due to the Israeli army invasion to Gaza Strip in 2008. Once again, the spectator gets closer to something familiar to him, a landscape that seems to have fireworks, to encounter with registers of white match explosions. Cogollos Series Due to a personal situation, Brizuela, was more and more interested in this condemned plant with lots of benefits. Just like he investigated to create dead animal´s images, painting hair by hair, or about the different type of bombs used in the Israeli militia, this time, he concentrated in the botanic study of this plant. Plants have always fascinated him, but this one has the peculiarity of having the same feature of his work: a provocative, dense and dark side. In this series, he has weed´s buds studies and plastic doll´s sculptures covered with the same plant, he brings up the topic about the terrifying and terrible monster that weed can represent to the society we live in. A criminalized substance that scares. Presenting in the shape of an arboreal landscape in a rocky body, the King Kongs or Hulks of weed are his one bit with which Brizuela contributes to the debate about tolerance of a substance that is already legalized and used for curative purposes in lots of countries in the world. This work created an indefinite tie with the audience: on one side are those who see irony in the work and enjoy it, and on the other side are those who get angry with the monster and understand the metaphor hidden in the sculpture. In one way or the other, each person has time to create their own opinion about the polemic work until September in Últimas Tendencias II, where he shares the room with more than 100 colleagues in a contemporaneous art exhibition. —— Muestra: Últimas Tendencias II Junio a septiembre del 2012 MAMBA. Un tucumano que hubiese querido ser antropólogo. “Una vez, un amigo me dijo que los artistas somos profesionales frustrados”. Comentario interesante, para un artista que de fallido no tiene nada. Por una necesidad de usar su propio relato como relato antropológico, Gabriel Chaile trabaja dentro de la corriente autorreferencial. Su obra habla de situaciones e historias personales. En esta búsqueda íntima encuentra rasgos que sobrepasan su individualidad y se vuelven colectivos. Con influencias internacionales como Francis Alÿs en el plano internacional, y Sandro Pereyra en un ámbito más vecino, a la hora de crear piensa en una historia recitada de distintas formas, que no tiene una narración lineal pero que relata una crónica. Tiene la cualidad de llevar al espectador a percibir de a momentos. Al ver una obra de Chaile reconstruimos su pensamiento con el recorrido. Un entendimiento paulatino, donde vamos armando el significado de a poco, descubriendo elementos simbólicos (desde un dibujo, hasta una cama o una estufa hecha con ladrillos) y así entrar en el clima de la obra lentamente. La característica colectiva de la obra de Chaile tiene la intención de estudiar la conformación del individuo, analizar la imagen desde un lugar personal y único, para llegar a un lugar común de todos. Las cosas nos eran comunes En el marco de esta arqueología vivencial, Chaile piensa el poder de las imágenes como un discurso político o como una prédica religiosa, ambos de alto impacto. Todas las cosas eran comunes es una frase extraída de un capítulo de Los Hechos de los Apóstoles. Una oración fuerte que detenta más de un sentido. Podemos situarla en la ideología comunista, donde la propiedad es colectiva. O, porqué no, pensarla desde un comunismo cristiano, donde las cosas se compartían por amor y no por miedo. En el afán de encontrar rasgos colectivos partiendo desde lo personal, Chaile revela su interés en reconstruir la conformación de las identidades. En esta ocasión él propone al espectador ir descubriendo la obra de a poco y no detenerse tanto en las formas dadas sino en el contenido simbólico de los objetos que lo rodean. Las piezas que encontramos en nuestro recorrido son una especie de reconstrucción de la vida de las personas, un trabajo de un antropólogo-arqueólogo. Sin embargo él no estudia las vidas que están extintas sino las de aquéllos que lo rodean. En esta investigación se trata de tomar los vestigios de la vida matizados por metáforas y ficciones propias de Chaile y armar un ensayo de estudio de sentimientos humanos que desarrollan la identidad. 51

A person native of Tucumán who would have liked to be an anthropologist. “A friend once told me that artists are frustrated professionals”. An interesting comment for an artist who never failed. Of necessity to use his own story as an anthropologist tale, Gabriel Chaile works within the self-referential current, a type of work that is about personal situations and stories from who creates them. In this intimate search he finds features that exceed his individuality and become collective. With international influences such as Francis Alÿs in the international level, and Sandro Pereyra in a nearer sphere, at the moment of creation, he thinks about a story told in different ways, that hasn´t got a lineal narration but that relates a chronicle. This type of narration has the quality of taking the spectator to perceive by the minute. When seeing a work from Chaile, we rebuild his thought while we observe it. A gradually understanding, where we get the meaning gradually, discovering symbolic elements (from drawing to a bed or a stove made with ladders) and getting into the work atmosphere slowly. The collective feature of Chile’s work intends to study gradually the conformation of the individual and analyses the image from a personal and unique place, to get to a common place of everyone. Things were not ordinary In the frame of this experimental archaeology, Chaile thinks about the power of images as a politic speech or as a religious sermon, both of high impact. All the things were ordinary is a phrase extracted from one of the Acts of the Apostles´ chapters. A strong sentence with more than one meaning. We can place it in the communist ideology, where property is collective. Or, why not, think about it from a Christian communism viewpoint, where things were shared out of love and not fear. Believers were just a feeling and thinking. In the eagerness to find collective features starting from personal life, Chaile reveals his interest in rebuilding the identity conformations. In this opportunity he proposes the spectator to discover the work gradually and not to go so deep in the given shapes but in the symbolic content of the objects that surround it. The symbolic content of the pieces that we find in the visit are kind of a reconstruction of people´s life, like the job of an anthropologist-archeologist. Even though, he does not study about deceased lives but about those who surround him. This investigation is about taking the traces of life tinged with metaphors and fictions typical of Chaile and about creating a study essay about human feelings that develop identity.

Desde su taller, un galpón-búnker ubicado en Palermo, Fernando Goin crea un mundo de reflexión y de historia-ficción traducida en sonidos, video, pinturas y dibujos. Este multifacético artista tiene un lema muy particular: sin problema no hay obra. Goin sostiene que su obra funciona como una herramienta. Cada tema determina qué herramienta utilizará para abrir la investigación “El artista es un investigador,” dice Goin, quien será el encargado de inmiscuirse en la historia y elegir momentos para acercar al espectador, llevarlo a crear una memoria, una idea, una conclusión. Utilizar imágenes de otros tiempos, a través de los vínculos entre el ayer y el hoy, nos avecina a nuevas miradas sobre la historia presente. Fernando Goin es un artista-investigador, es un estudioso de la historia, trabaja con imágenes del archivo de la nación, fotogramas de filmes, entre otras reseñas y luego crea su propio archivo. Él hace un recorte de esas fotografías, nos acerca un documento histórico matizado por su mirada. Cruza su investigación con un tema y luego resignifica lo dado. Si bien toma referencias como Cándido López por la calidad documental de la obra, entiende que el resultado es su recorte, su comentario. La obra funciona como ensayo histórico, y el artista hace una sección de esta historia, que ficciona y luego busca un medio para hacerlo. La obra funciona entonces como herramienta, documento y dispositivo. Muestra: 1955 1955 es una fecha clave en la historia argentina. Goin la analiza desde la intolerancia y su impacto en nuestra historia. En 1955 podemos empezar a hablar de peronistas y antiperonistas. Si bien él no se proclama ni de un lado ni del otro, con las imágenes que trabaja busca que como argentinos, o personas del mundo, seamos testigos del nivel de intolerancia en nuestra historia y de sus consecuencias. Este concepto lo trabaja a través de las imágenes de archivo devenidas en carbonillas, telas sin bastidor, obras en las que el vidrio que normalmente encontramos entre nosotros no está, donde no hay separación entre la verdad ficcionada y el espectador. En la muestra encontraremos testimonios de esta fecha bisagra en la historia argentina, donde nacieron enfrentamientos y elementos políticos que aún hoy persisten. La muestra está acompañada por textos históricos y el día de la inauguración se pudo ver una performance de Diego Melero.

From his studio, a warehourse-bunker located in Palermo, Fernando Goin creates a world of reflection and history-fiction translated into sounds, videos, paintings and drawings. This multi-faceted artist has a particular motto: without a problem there is no work. Goin holds that his work functions as a tool. Each subject determines which tools he will use to begin the investigation “The artist is an investigator”, says Goin, who will be the one in charge of meddling in the story and choosing moments to bring the audience closer, lead them to create a memory, an idea, a conclusion. Using images from other times, across yesterday and nowadays ties, takes us closer to new viewpoints about the present history. Fernado Goin is an artist-investigator, studious on history that works with images from the nation archives, films stills, among other reviews, and then creates his own archive. He crops those photographs, and offers us a historic document sprinkled with his view. Goes through his investigation with a subject and then gives a new meaning to what was given. Even though he has points of reference such as Cándido López due to the quality of his work, the result is his crop, his comment. The work functions as a historic essay, and the artist makes a section of this story, that he fictions and then searches for a means to do it. The work functions then as a tool, document and device. Exhibition: 1955 1955 is a key date in the Argentinean history. Goin analyses out from intolerance and his impact in our history. From 1955 we can start talking about peronists and anti-peronists. Even though he is neither on one side nor in the other, his goal is that with the images that he works we, as Argentineans or persons of the world, witness the level of intolerance in our history and its consequences. He works on this concept through the archive images that became cinders, cloths without frame, works in which the glass that we normally find is missing, where there is no separation between the fictional truth and the spectator. In the exhibition we will find testimonies of this hinge date in the Argentinean history, where confrontations and politic elements that still persist started. In the exhibition there are also historic texts and in the opening day Diego Melero offered a performance.

Mientras su abuela tejía, Débora Pierpaoli jugaba con su abuelo con los hilos de colores desparramados por el piso. Se perdía entre los ovillos, que poco a poco se personificaban y empezaban a conformar su propio “mundito” de fantasía. A los juegos y a los hilos, con el tiempo se fueron sumando otros materiales que la llevaron a nutrir ese universo infinito de creaciones. En un atelier de escultura se encontró con la arcilla, y luego vinieron el dibujo y la pintura, herramientas a las que les es fiel hasta el día de hoy. Siguieron los plásticos, las telas, liquid paper o marcadores. Un collage de técnicas que se conectan, una elección deliberada de lenguajes, un espacio de trabajo improvisado al servicio de lo que quiere o, mejor dicho, necesita contar. “Logré adaptarme a lugares y momentos muy insólitos. Supongo que cuando tengo que hacer algo que me mata la ansiedad, no importa cómo, voy y me pongo a trabajar, esté donde esté, en el taller, en mi casa o en un anotador”, nos cuenta con total honestidad. Había una vez una muestra De la próxima muestra, al momento del cierre de esta edición nos pudo adelantar la más adivinable de las certezas y la intriga de un cuento que está por comenzar. “Va a tener pinturas, dibujos y cerámicas esmaltadas. Es un libro negro que se abre, y allí nace todo”. Muebles diseñados por la misma artista contienen libros hechos de cerámica con historias negras del mundo de Pierpaoli. Cada pieza de la primera sala de la muestra forma parte del mismo guión: monstruos, paisajes y hasta una luz tenue y puntual para cada obra acompañando el clima. En la sala contigua, dos máscaras invitan al espectador a entrometerse y a mirar a través de ellas. La idea de esta sala es poder trabajar con la unión de dos artistas: Joseph Beuys y Ana Mendieta. “Hace tiempo me vienen apareciendo en sueños o pensamientos. Desde un lugar sentimental, ambos utilizaron su cuerpo. Ana, con el pelo o el plumaje de una gallina; y Joseph, poniéndose una máscara de oro para estar cerca de un animal (matarlo o conversar con él). Con la muestra me gustaría poder entrar en diálogo con ellos un rato”. Será cuestión de ver la muestra y conocer, al menos, uno de todos los finales posibles de esta historia.

While her grandmother knitted, Débora Pierpaoli played with her grandfather with color threads scattered in the floor. She got lost among balls that gradually personified and began to form her own “little world” of fantasy. After some time, other materials appeared in addition to the games and threads that nourished this infinite universe of creation. In her sculpture studio she discovered clay, and then drawing and painting came, tools to which she is still faithful to. Then plastic, cloth, liquid paper and markers appeared. A collage of techniques connected among each other, a deliberate choice of languages, an improvised working space for what she wants or rather what she needs to tell. “I was able to adapt myself to very unusual places and moments. I guess that when I have to do something that keeps me too anxious, it doesn´t matter how, I just go and start working, wherever I am, in the studio, my house or in a notebook”, she tells us with total honesty. There was once an exhibition About the next exhibition, for the time being she can disclose the more guessable certainty and the intrigue of a story that´s about to begin. “There will be paintings, drawings and glazed ceramics. It is a black book that when it opens gives birth to everything”. The furniture designed by the artist has ceramic books that contain black stories of Pierpaoli´s world. Every piece of the first room of the exhibition is part of the same script: monsters, landscapes and even a weak and precise light for each piece accompanying the atmosphere. In the adjoining exhibition, two masks invite the spectator to meddle and look through them. The aim of this room is to work on the union of two artists: Joseph Beuys and Ana Mendieta. “They have been appearing in dreams and thought for some time. They both used their body from a sentimental place. Ana, by using the hair or plumage of a hen; and Joseph, by putting on a gold mask to get close to an animal (to kill it or talk to him). In the exhibition I would like to have a conversation with them for a while”. La casa donde vivían Carlos Gardel y su madre fue recuperada para convertirla en un museo que conserve y difunda el patrimonio cultural que representa la obra de Gardel. Irineo Leguisamo, jinete uruguayo, fue considerado uno de los más importantes de la hípica rioplatense. Modesto Papavero compuso en 1925 el tango “Leguisamo solo”, popularizado por Carlos Gardel, amigo del jinete y aficionado a las carreras. Un Museo hecho por gente que hace televisión. En la historia de la televisión argentina, Canal 7 fue pionero en sus tres momentos más importantes: la primera transmisión, la llegada de la televisión en color y la llegada de la televisión digital. La exposición permanente cuenta con una serie de entrevistas realizadas por el Noticiero a diversos trabajadores del Canal; la primera cámara de televisión que llegó al país en 1951, la cámara Dumont; el libro de actas de la primera transmisión; archivos audiovisuales inéditos y una selección de fotos organizadas por cada década de historia. 95
