GLYFADA
It is a suburb of Athens, situated in the southern parts of the Athens Metropolitan Area.
In the ancient period, the area was known as Aixone (Αιξωνή), from the fish “mullus surmuletus” which fishermen used to fish there and called “aixone trigli”.
Later the area called Glyfada from the brackish water of area’s wells.
Glyfada stretches out from the foot of the Hymettus mountain and reaches out to embrace the Saronic Gulf.
