celebrities

everyone’s talking about...

CELEBS UNITE FOR GRENFELL TOWER They say ‘they only do it for the money’ but this is not the case this month. A whole host of pop stars have come together to record the Simon & Garfunkel hit ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ – the brainchild of music mogul Simon Cowell – to raise money for the victims of Grenfell Tower. Rita Ora, Robbie Williams, Bastille, Craig David, Stormzy, Skepta, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Kelly Jones, Emile Sande, Pixie Lott, Ella Ayre,

James Arthur, James Blunt and Louisa Johnson have all taken time out of their schedules to take part in the single and promote it worldwide. And for all you doubters out there, 100% of the money raised is going to the charity. At the time of going to press 85 deaths have been confirmed at the Grenfell Tower fire. The tragedy occurred at 1am on June 14 and flames engulfed the entire building made of unsafe cladding within 30 minutes. It is predicted that there were no survivors passed floor 20. The death toll is expected to reach well over 100.

HACKERS LEAK NAKED SNAPS Another four celebrities – Melanie Sykes, Kym Marsh, Catherine Tyldesley and Sally Lindsay – have all had their phones hacked and intimate images leaked on an X rated site. The worst hit was TV presenter and former model Melanie Sykes where 23 private photos of her were posted online. In three she was naked, five she was topless and in the rest she was wearing lingerie.

The incidents have been reported to police and the site in question, which cannot be named for legal reasons, has since taken the pictures down. Kym Marsh, who scooped the Best Female Dramatic Performance at the British Soap Awards, said of the hacking of her initimate snaps, “I felt immediately sick to my stomach and was extremely upset – it’s been devastating for me and my family.”

ANT CHECKS INTO REHAB

Ant McPartlin has checked into rehab after admitting to being dependent on prescription drugs and alcohol. Ant tearfully summoned his TV partner Declan Donnelly and his wife Lisa Armstrong together for a crisis meeting where he admitted his problem had spiralled out of control. “I need help mate and I need it now,” Ant said. Ant's ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ co-host Dec had reportedly been concerned about his pal, but didn’t know the severity of what was wrong. “For Dec it was a bit of a bombshell hearing about these addiction problems. He had no idea of the full extent of the torment his best friend was going through,” a source told The Sun. "Dec couldn’t believe his ears through some of it. Soon the truth was all coming out: the substance abuse, the painkillers he was hooked on, the secret drinking sessions. It was almost too much for Dec to take in.” Ant has publicly thanked his wife, family and closest friends for helping him through this difficult time and bravely also added, "I have spoken out because I think it is important that people ask for help if they are going through

20 MARBELLAROCKS | ISSUE 32

a rough time and get the proper treatment to help their recovery.” Ant reportedly earns a whopping £79,000 a day and together with long-time friend Dec has scooped dozens of TV awards including Best TV Presenter 4 years in a row. An unfortunately botched knee operation is apparently behind Ant’s reliance on prescription drugs.

news PIXIE GELDOF SPANISH WEDDING Bod Geldof and Paula Yates’ daughter Pixie Geldof wed her rock star fiancé George Barnett in a lavish ceremony in Palma, Mallorca. The bride kept the 200-strong congregation waiting almost 2 hours in the Spanish heat before turning up in a grey coach (practicality ruled) with the bridal party consisting of TV presenter Alexa Chung and ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star Daisy Lowe. Among the guests were Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Nick

Grimshaw. Who we can only imagine were melting in their suits in the 36 degree heat. The singer and model’s older sister Fifi, 31, was in attendance alongside Thomas Cohen, widow to Pixie’s sister Peaches Geldof who died of a heroine overdose aged 25. Following the ceremony, the guests filtered out to the 75 tables set up in the grounds of the picturesque stately home, where a night of live music followed.

BEY & JAY Z WELCOME TWINS

Beyonce and Jay Z have proudly announced the news of the birth of their twins - a boy and girl. Close family and friends were notified first before reports appeared on US Weekly and other sites. The twins actually made their appearance on their due date and the proud parents are mulling over names. With a 5-year old sibling named Blue Ivy we are expecting something out of leftfield for the Bey-bies. Appropriately, their bundles of joy were born on June 13 under Gemini, the Zodiac

sign actually symbolised with twins. Beyonce first announced the news she was expecting alongside her scan picture on Instagram in February saying, “We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over." Jay Z recently sparked rumours Bey had gone into labour early when he skipped an appearance at the Songwriters Hall of Fame Awards, where he was due to be inducted by former US president Barack Obama.

RONALDO SURROGACY TWINS

Cristiano Ronaldo has become a father again, this time with twins, after using a surrogate mother. Georgina Rodriguez, 23, and Ronaldo, 32, are said to be “over the moon” with the birth of twins Mateo and Eva. Georgina, who has been dating the Portuguese footballer for over a year was unable to fall pregnant naturally, so the pair enlisted the help of a surrogate to increase their brood. Ronaldo already has a 7-year-old son from a previous relationship called Cristiano Jnr. Strangely enough the identity of the mother of Ronaldo’s first born has always been kept a secret. He shares the parenting of Cristiano Jnr with his mother Dolores.

CHARLOTTE & BEAR GET SERIOUS

Charlotte Crosby and Stephen Bear have stepped things up a notch by a moving into a palatial mansion – the couple’s first home together. The news comes just days after ‘Geordie Shore’ star Crosby announced that she would marry her ‘Ex On The Beach’ beau Bear given the opportunity. Proud of her boyfriend for finally becoming a homeowner, she wrote to her fans: 'Steve has his 1st home! soooo proud! And he's only asked me to MOVE IN! #Charlotte&Bears' She followed up the ecstatic tweet with a fitting house emoji, before adding in her usual playful style: 'I can't believe I'm gonna live with a BOY!' The couple have been dating for 5 months.

FOR HIM #BROMPER

WHAT'S TRENDING...

For years the romper, aka playsuit has been every females go-to summer fashion choice. Now, iT'S you meN'S turn to experience the struggle of going to the toilet in one of these things. The male romper/ bromper has been hitting headlines for the past couple of weeks, and we genuinely thought it was a joke until we spotted a guy sporting one of these in Puerto Banus.

'RompHim' was the first brand to release the garment and many famous fashion brands have since been joining in on the latest trend. Famous faces such as NBA star Dwyane Wade, NFL quarterback Cam Newton and TV's Andy Cohen have all been spotted sporting the infamous bromper and we don't think it will stop any time soon. Regardless of what you think of this latest fashion trend, it's certainly got people talking. Will you dare to be seen in the bromper?

SPRAY ON TOUCH SCREEN

According to a new study, researchers have found that they can turn any flat surface into a touch screen with just a can of spray paint. The inventors at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh have branded their invention 'Electrick'. It relies on electrodes attached to an object made of or coated with any slightly conductive material including walls, furniture and musical instruments. While you won͛t be able to spray yourself a new iPad, the result will still be accurate enough for basic controls such as a slider or a touch button.

WORLD'S LARGEST AIRCRAFT

The Stratolaunch aircraft, a double bodied airplane with the largest wingspan of any aircraft in the world and weighs about 500,000 pounds has been moved out of its hangar for the first time ever. It has been designed to carry satellites and their launch vehicles up to an altitude of 36,000 feet. From then on the aircraft works as a floating launch pad which will get satellites and their launchers into orbit a lot easier and quicker than ever before. This means that scientists no longer have to wait to launch rockets from the ground or get disrupted by bad weather. The Stratolaunch can take off from any runway and find a good spot to settle in and launch the vehicles from there. You may be thinking how such a big aircraft can fly itself let alone carry rockets – six 747 engines will lift the craft off the ground and the 28 wheels will allow for take-off and landing. The aircraft which is bigger than a professional football field can carry more than its own weight at up to 550,000 pounds and has already planned its first launch. In early 2019 the craft will carry an Orbital ATK Pegasus XL, a rocket already designed to launch from carrier aircrafts.

The SiliconValley based tech group have launched their latest product, Pax 3 here in the UK, a real sleek bit of kit which allows users to control temperature and taste settings, as well as other cool features like games such as PAXspin – it even plays ‘Purple Haze’ when you win. news

FOR HER Over the past couple of years, the universe has decided that your eyebrows will either make or break you. There have been so many brow trends from, ‘Glitter Brows,’ to ‘Feather Brows’ to the bold to the thin - we just can’t keep up.

WHAT'S TRENDING...

#BROWCARVING

The latest trend in the beauty sphere however, we’re not too sure about. To carve your brows to precision you need to create a sharp outline around your brows using eyeshadow, sounds pretty simple – probably isn’t. This new trend is

taking over Instagram and despite the serious boldness of them, they seem to be catching. We must admit, they do look seriously cool, but you wouldn’t catch us out and about with these brows.

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

MATCH YOUR LIPS TO YOUR NIPS Do you struggle to find your perfect shade of nude lipstick? Well, the answer is to go nude. Literally. Beauty experts on the daytime talk-show ‘The Doctors’ have revealed that the best way to find your perfect shade of nude is to take a peek underneath your bra and find a lipstick that best resembles the colour of your nipples. This does actually make a lot of sense, there are so many shades of nude out there so with this new theory you will definitely find the shade for you. But we don’t recommend that you lift your top up at the make-up counter to swatch shades next to your nips.

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

FOUNDATION SHADE ADJUSTING DROPS

It’s so annoying having to buy a new foundation every time you get a little more tanned. It can get very expensive. With these shade adjusting drops, you can darker your foundation to suit your new skin shade, simple and cost effective. Many brands have brought out their own versions of the product, but we recommend the ‘NYX Pro Foundation Mixer.’ At just €8.90 the product is both cheap and amazing, it will definitely be your summer saviour.

DIY FACE AND BODY SCRUB

Now that the sun is shining bright we have all been on our mission to get that summer glow. But we are also bound to get burnt at least once this season which is then sure to be followed by the dreaded skin peel. We know how annoying and ugly it can be – especially on the face, so we bring you an amazing, natural DIY skin scrub using ingredients you can find around the house that will be sure to leave your skin feeling smooth, glowy and amazing. Mix 2 tbsp honey with 2 tbsp ground oats, 1 tbsp brown sugar and 1 tbsp warm water to make a paste consistency. Scrub onto your face and leave to sit for 15 mins before rinsing with warm water and following with your usual skincare routine. Follow this routine once a week for perfect skin all summer long. RECIPE

news

Flattened Chicken and Grilled Romaine with Parsley-Lemon Sauce This Country Living recipe is the perfect summer twist on your weekly roast dinner, just swap out the roast veg for salad and you've got yourself a tasty and healthy summer roast. The lemon zings mixed with the nuts and parsley bring out incredible flavours which will be sure to tingle your tastebuds. INGREDIENTS (Serves 4) • 1 chicken, backbone removed and chicken flattened • 4 cloves of garlic, chopped • Kosher salt • Freshly ground black pepper • 1oz. grated parmesan (about ¼ cup) • ¼ c. chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley • ¼ c. toasted hazelnuts or almonds, chopped • 1tsp. lemon zest & 2 tbsp. lemon juice • 4 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil, divided • 2 romaine hearts, halved lengthwise Directions 1. Preheat grill to medium-high set up for direct and indirect grilling. 2. Loosen skin of chicken and spread garlic underneath. Season with salt and pepper. Grill over direct heat, breast side down, covered, until golden-brown and charred, 5-7 minutes. Flip and grill over indirect heat, covered, until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part registers 165 degrees F, 35-40 minutes.

3. Meanwhile, combine parmesan, parsley, hazelnuts, lemon zest and juice, and 3 tbsp. oil in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. 4. Brush romaine with remaining oil. Season with salt and pepper. Grill over direct heat, turning once until charred and wilted, 1-3 minutes. 5. Serve the chicken and romaine topped with the parsleylemon sauce.

Wine Pairing Chardonnay is the perfect pairing to any lemon chicken dish. Chardonnay is high in acidity – just like lemons, and it even has citrusy flavours. Food and wine that is high in acidity make the mouth salivate so the two pair extremely well together. Whilst Chardonnay is the perfect match, be careful when picking one and make sure you stray away from the oaky, buttery ones like Rombauer. Sauvignon Blanc is also an obvious choice for grilled lemon dishes, and it will also compliment the Romaine perfectly.

SPIDERMAN: HOMECOMING

MURA MASA: MURA MASA

That's right, ANOTHER Spiderman movie. This time, we meet a new, young Peter Parker (Tom Holland) who first appeared on our screens in 'Captain America: Civil War' as he attempts to come to terms with his new identity as Spiderman. Directed by Jon Watts, the story follows on from 'The Avengers', where he is learning to navigate his superpowers and "spidey senses" under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark aka Ironman (played by Robert Downey Jr). Parker believes he can go about his daily life as a high school student as normal, but accidentally reveals his secret identity to his friend, Ned (Jacob Batalon). But when brand new villain The Vulture (Michael Keaton) turns up in the city, Peter/Spiderman must up his game before everything he knows and loves will be destroyed. The movie isn't even on release yet and a number of sequels are already in the works (hopefully a sure fired winner for the production house and their investors), they are set to follow Peter all through school. The movie is a joint production by Sony/Marvel and is the third Spiderman movie conglomerate to be released in the last decade, but the first to tie in with the Marvel cinematic universe. The all-star cast also includes Zendaya and Donald Glover. 'Spiderman: Homecoming' hits cinemas 7 July. Worth a watch for the special effects and for you die-hard spidey fans out there but personally we´d rather give ANOTHER Spiderman movie a miss, especially without Toby Maguire or Andrew Garlfield's upside down kissing scenes.

Alex Crossan better known by his stage name Mura Masa is releasing his debut album on 14th July. The Guernsey born DJ, electronic music producer, songwriter and multiinstrumentalist is best known for his track 'What if I Go?' featuring vocals from the Irish singer/ songwriter Bonzai. Crossan also co-wrote Stormzy’s recent smash hit 'First thing's first', which entered the UK singles chart at number 25. Big names will feature on Crossan's debut album such as NAO and Charlie XCX along with a collaboration with A$AP Rocky in the track 'Love$ick', which was released as a single in September 2016. On working with Rocky, Crossan had this to say, "It was super fun, we hung out, smoked cigarettes, talked about fashion and Tame Impala". The 20-year-old took influences from Japanese culture, hip hop, manipulation, real instrumentation and samples in creating the 13 track album. Well I never. Discovering his love for hip hop came in quite an odd way, "I think I can pinpoint the moment that I realised that I enjoyed hiphop music and it was the video game called...Need For Speed Underground". Whoever said that video games rotted the brain? Make sure you check out Mura Masa when the album is released on July 14th – he is sure to make it big and it͛s always great to spot talent and appreciate it. Even with the verbal diarohea that comes with it.

EVERYTHING WE LEFT BEHIND: KERRY LONSDALE

From the best-selling Wall Street Journal author of 'Everything We Keep' comes the highly anticipated sequel 'Everything We Left Behind' which uncovers the truths behind the first novels outing that were left untold. The story centres around sous chef Aimee Tierney who has the seemingly perfect life, an upcoming wedding to her perfect fiancée, plans to buy out her parents restaurant and to start a family – until her fiancée, James got lost at sea chasing his moneylaundering brother, Phil to Mexico two months before the wedding. Presumed dead, Aimee attended his funeral, grieved for him and attempted to piece her life back together. Told from two men's perspectives; the sequel follows the story six years later as James emerges from a confused state to find he's been living as an artist, Carlos is living in Oaxaca as a widower and father of two kids with his sister-in-law Natalya. The love of his life, Aimee has moved on, she has got married and has a child of her own so a devastated James moves himself and his sons to California. Meanwhile, Phil is getting released from prison and is determined to find his brother before he spills the beans on what happened in Mexico that could leave Phil banged up again. As James tries to piece his identity back together he must escape with his family, avoiding the danger that is around every corner. Released on the 4th July, this sequel will well and truly be a page turner.

Puerto Banus nightclub Aqwa Mist has just celebrated its 5th Anniversary and has been voted the ‘Best Nightclub’ on the Costa Del Sol beating stiff competition from Olivia Valere, Pangea and La Suite in the 2016 Marbella Awards. With voting set to reach a new precedent this year, can they make it two years in a row? Marbella Rocks caught up with Jordan Reed to find out about Summer 2017, their acts and what it’s like to scoop the best nightclub accolade.

Q: If you could pick one track to play in Aqwa what would it be and why? Sunshine by Tieks - This song symbolises holidays and freedom, which pretty much sums up our customers. Those that are here on holiday and the local market who get a sense of freedom from their working lives by having a night out.

Q: Congratulations on winning the Best Nightclub in The Marbella Awards, what was it like receiving the accolade?

It was a real honour to be recognised for a lot of the hard work that goes on behind the scenes. Fingers crossed there will be more awards to follow. The most important award and the sign of success is the amount of returning customers we have seen come back through our doors again this year.

Q: What sets you apart from other nightclubs on the coast? Aqwa Mist sets itself apart as it is known for international celebrity guests and superstar DJs. Plus, this summer Aqwa Mist has welcomed a brand new cocktail terrace.

Q: You have secured world class acts including Chris Brown, Tinie Tempah, Craid David and Rudimental in the past. What would you say are the standout acts for you this summer? This summer Aqwa Mist, has the biggest summer yet lined up - with the return of Craig David alongside Tory Lanez, J Hus and Krept + Konan.

Techno never really left, you’ll always find a techno lover at any party, especially in Spain!! Our clientele changes regularly, one week might be an older crowd so we dig out the classics. The next week a dance floor full of Music On regulars that want to hear the latest Tech House tracks from the White Isle. Mi Casa is about spreading positive vibes through good house music whether it be deep, tech, techno or beyond.

Q: You have also launched a fabulous new Saturday night called Saturday Night Kiss with the radio stations top DJ’s. Who is flying over to entertain us this summer? We have everyone's favourite acts from Kiss FM radio station joining us this summer including Rickie & Melvin, Pioneer, DJ Swerve, AJ King, Sharky P, Philip George,

news

Charlie Hedges and Majestic to name a few.

Q: Can you tell about your new Sunday night gig Partition?

Partition is our brand new Ladies Night, bringing the deals for the ladies and the men will undoubtedly follow.

Q: Aqwa Mist and La Sala Group are known for its celebrity clientele. Who are the biggest stars you’ve had in your venues?

Some of the biggest stars to enjoy a night with us include Hollywood stars Terrance Howard, Eva Longoria, Will.i.am and Penelope Cruz. We are also a popular hotspot among Footballers and TV personalities especially from TOWIE and Love Island.

Q: Are you opening for Halloween and New Year’s Eve again this year as these parties are legendary?

Yes, and it will be bigger than ever before with a huge surprise line up.

Q: If you win the 2017 Marbella Award for Best Nightclub again how would you celebrate?

Throw a party in Aqwa Mist with a role reversal - we’d have the shareholders behind the bar, and the club staff partying the night away! The main thing for us is that everyone’s efforts are recognised especially those behind the scenes.

Anastacia is back! The US superstar is set to grace Marbella’s Starlite Festival on her Ultimate Collection European Tour ON JULY 15!

he ‘Left Outside Alone’ singer, established herself as one of the top selling international female popstars of the early noughties before taking a break in 2006. She made her return to the music world in 2014 and since then has released her sixth studio album, ‘Resurrection’ and an ‘Ultimate Collection,’ featuring singles from her five previous albums which peaked in the top 10 of the UK album charts. Born in 1968, Anastasia started her showbiz career aged 15 as a dancer for hire, appearing in many music videos and on Club MTV. Her music career started two years later as a backing vocalist for stars such as Jamie Foxx and Paula Abdul. She could never get a record company to sign her as an artist as her voice was too unusual and so there was no place for her.

42 MARBELLAROCKS | ISSUE 32

Eventually in 1998 she finally attracted the interest of numerous record labels as well as stars such as Michael Jackson and Elton John after making it to the finals of the MTV talent show ‘The Cut’. She eventually signed with Daylight Records, a family member of Sony Music Entertainment in March 1999. Rumours plagued the Chicago born star for years that she was older than she claimed to be - which she vehemently denied. However, in 2008 she admitted she was lying after all (!) and she was soon to turn 40. She told The Daily Mail, “I went on a television show and you had to be under 29… I went along with it for years, but I told the truth when I went to another label. I felt so guilty.” She shaved six years off her real age to compete not knowing that she would have to keep up with her lie for the next decade. She was so deep in her lie that she had to basically rewrite her life, even asking her siblings to lie about their own ages. “Journalists would be asking me when I was born… and I would panic. But everyone [in the industry] does it. I thought that was what you were supposed to do. I thought it meant that I had made it. But I really don’t know how people can keep up with the lie,” she confessed. Anastacia has faced a number of devastating health battles in her life. Aged just 13 she was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease, an incurable bowel condition. As a result she had a foot of her intestines removed along with several lymph nodes. The doctors had to cut through so much stomach muscle that she ended up in a

wheelchair for a while because she didn’t have any core muscles to support her weight. After a producer told her she was too fat for the music business when she was 19, the singer went on a high fibre diet which caused a relapse of her Crohn’s. After spending three weeks in hospital; being fed through a tube and pumped with high-dose steroids, she suffered effects such as hair loss, acne, weight gain and swelling. This horrible experienced made her decide to face her illness head on. “My look changed, but so did my attitude,” she said. “I learned not to be vain and realised I couldn't ignore my illness any more. It was incurable and I'd need to learn to deal with it properly.” So she made the decision to look after her body by eating clean, avoiding too much fibre, rarely drinking and having a zero tolerance policy to drugs and smoking. After being diagnosed with breast cancer twice, first in 2003 and again in 2013, Anastacia underwent a double mastectomy. In a statement back in October 2013 she said, “l was diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time earlier this year and am currently in the final stages of recovery after undergoing a double mastectomy. It has been an intense journey but l am feeling great and ready to start the next chapter.” The discovery of her first diagnosis of breast cancer was a total accident. After she was tired of her big breasts giving her backache she decided to get a reduction surgery. It was the mammogram before

the surgery that showed a cancerous tumour. Luckily, it was caught early, but doctors said, left just a month longer and it would likely have become life threatening. If the Crohn’s Disease and Breast Cancer weren’t enough health issues for one person, Anastacia also has sciatica, herniated disks in her spine, and the heart condition supraventricular tachycardia. Last year Anastacia stirred up quite the controversy as she appeared on BBC One’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’. The singer was paired with Brendan Cole in the TV dance comp, and in just the second week escaped the eliminations because of an injury she suffered due to damaged scar tissue left from her double mastectomy. Strictly’s rules state that if one dancer can’t perform – then they must go by the public vote meaning Melvin Odoom got the boot. She consequently received tonnes of backlash on Twitter with people claiming the decision to be unfair. The US star was eventually the sixth contestant to be voted off – losing out to Ed Balls in the dance off. The ‘I’m Outta

Love’ singer also appeared as a judge on 2 episodes of ‘The X Factor’. In November 2016 Anastacia bravely went bare in an intimate cover shoot for Fault Magazine, revealing the scars from her double mastectomy. She explained to the magazine that she desired control over her scars by releasing them in a photoshoot. “If paparazzi photographed them, I’d feel like I was being shamed but being able to release them this way, I feel extremely empowered," she said. Reclaiming her femininity was also a big factor in deciding to do the shoot. “Nipple sensation is something that cancer robbed from my anatomy and I’m used to it now but there is that little part of me that will always be lost. Doing Strictly and doing this shoot I feel like I’m finally becoming the woman that I was again.”

To get Tickets for Anastacia’s performance at Starlite visit: www.starlitemarbella.com or call 902 750 787.

10 CELEBRITIES WHO LOOK BETTER WITH AGE

These A-listers have transitioned from geekier, fatter, spottier versions of themselves to the svelte, red carpet Adonises they are today. The transformations are staggering and also prove that you can look better with age (or in some of these cases, bulging bank balances).

Demi Moore

Sometimes You’re Not Ugly You’re Just Broke Following her divorce from Bruce Willis, Demi overhauled her image spending a reported $226,000 on surgery including teeth, lips, breasts and liposuction. Turning 55 this year she looks amazing, yet still moans she has trouble landing the big Hollywood parts. Well she’s hardly going to play a grandmother looking this good?

Zac Efron Revenge Of The Nerd

If anyone had to be a poster boy for the Nerds - Zac Efron would have scooped it in his early teens no problem. Queue oily skin, gapped teeth, bad hair and painful grin aged 13. He is barely recognisable compared to the toned, tanned ‘Baywatch’ movie star he is today at 29-years-old.

Kylie Jenner All About The Pout

A gawky teenager Kylie Jenner has transformed into one of the world’s most popular reality TV stars and social media queens with her own cosmetic line to boot. Having swerved the awkward, ‘has she/hasn’t she’ surgery questions with a particular emphasis on her lips – we’ll leave you to make your own minds up about this one!

Halle Berry Au Natural Beauty

Oscar winning actress Halle Berry looks so much better at 50 than she ever did at 30 as these pictures clearly show. She has reportedly shunned the surgeon’s knife and is growing old gracefully with the help of regular facials and leading a healthy lifestyle. She even denies having Botox to keep her glowing skin wrinkle free.

Calvin Harris Geek to Chic

Before Scottish DJ/Producer Calvin was catapulted into the limelight in 2008 he was a normal, working class, self-confessed music geek that used to spend hours mixing in his bedroom. Hence the pale skin! He has definitely matured with age gaining a tan, chiselled abs and cheekbones and a much needed haircut. One of the greatest celeb transformations yet.

Jennifer Aniston The Friends Benefit

Jennifer Aniston rose to fame in hit US TV series ‘Friends’ where her ever changing transformations had viewers baffled over the 10-year series. Jennifer shed her puppy fat weight and made her hair her meal ticket as these pictures taken 15 years apart indicate. Despite admitting to liking the odd cigarette Jennifer swears by diet and exercise to keep her looking this good. And maybe the odd nose job Jen?!

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Fat to Fit

If there’s ever proof that losing weight can make you look better and younger then former WWF wrestler turned Hollywood movie star Dwayne Johnson is living proof. Compared to the young 22-year-old in the left hand picture; Dwayne looks hotter, healthier and happier aged 45. There may be a bit of teeth whitening throw in there too.

Celine Dion Titanic Teeth

Canadian born singer Celine Dion would never have landed her own multimillion pound Vegas gig as she did in her twenties. Fast forward a staggering quarter of a century and the 49-year-old ‘My Heart Will Go On’ warbler looks better than ever. Mind you the teeth were in urgent need of a seeing to.

Tom Cruise Z List to A List

Like Dion, Hollywood heartthrob Tom Cruise has transformed from an awkward teenager to the A-list movie star he is today… with a little help from his dentist. He has denied any other surgery and despite his selfproclaimed “slightly big and bent nose” he has won over gorgeous girls and leading parts with ease.

Carol VordeRman Turning Back the Clock

While not strictly A-List former ‘Countdown’ presenter Carol Vorderman is worthy of a mention on this list due to her huge transformation. Now 56, Carol looks better than she did on the Channel 4 TV show back in 1982 when she was only 21. As well as maturing and growing into her looks – Carol has exceptional bone structure - she has admitted to regular Botox to keep wrinkles at bay.

THE AGE ISSUE THE LATEST PROCEDURES

questionnaire it is then tailored to an individuals specific needs, which is usually 4 vials over a 3 week period. Depending on your lifestyle, a regular boost either biannually or annually is recommended however probably just one or two. These are administered as an injection in the subcutaneous area (tissue layer between the skin and the muscle) of the buttocks. It may cause slight discomfort for a few seconds. There have been numerous tests done over the past 7 years or so, and to date there are little to no side effects. As each of us is uniquely different, each of the client’s personal journey may differ.

REJUMA

Rejuma is a brand new anti-ageing product that regenerates our bodies at a cellular level. It not only makes you look younger but actually aims to reverse the ageing process. Because age is not just solely dependent on actually how long we have lived, it encompasses the age of our body’s right down to a cellular level and is dependent on our genes and our lifestyles. Our bodies are capable of repairing, yet when the damage outweighs its ability to repair and regenerate naturally, and with time our bodies become less efficient at repairing and we notice the signs of ageing. Not just visually of our skin, hair and appearance, but in our vitality, energy levels and degenerative ailments and illnesses related to ageing.

The Science Part

We have Chaperone Proteins in our bodies. When we are young we have more chaperones and less damaged cells we heal quickly. As we age, through our lifestyles and genetics, we have more damaged cells than can be repaired, thus the ageing process begins. Skin loses its elasticity, we lose energy quicker and various degenerative related illnesses occur. Rejuma contains a series of HSPs, they are a type of chaperone protein and is the only certified biological source of HSPs in the world. Heat Shock Proteins (HSP) are chaperone proteins - a type of protein that acts as a chaperone. When stresses occur our bodies enhance or induce gene expression of Heat Shock Proteins and they play a vital role in cellular homeostasis. To survive a variety of stresses cells have to deal with protein dysfunction by degrading and /or reforming the proteins. This is performed by Heat Shock Proteins.

How The Magic Works

Rejuma must be prescribed and administered by a qualified Rejuma doctor and after an initial blood test and simple

Case Study: Julie Campbell "I started using Rejuma at 49 with big pre-menopausal

symptoms such as hot flashes, irregular heavy periods and recurring debilitating migraines, I have found a new lease on life. All my menopause symptoms have gone, I rarely get a hangover (I still love to go out to dinner and dance and drink wine and champagne) and at 53 my cycle is quite regular with no menopausal symptoms. I used to feel quite sluggish and unmotivated when it came to exercise, I now do Pilates, aerial yoga, boxercise and aqua aerobics. Due to the nature of the product it may take a few weeks to start noticing the difference. The first thing most people notice is restored energy levels. This new vitality has also been noticed in the bedroom!"

Coming Soon

Rejuma will be available in Gibraltar, London and hopefully Marbella as soon as September 2017. The team is also in the process of devising a non-invasive application via a patch-like system as an equally effective alternative option. Rejuma is recommended to both men and women from early 40’s to mid 70’s, although really anybody can benefit from a boost of our magic elixir removing the need for invasive treatments, surgery or Botox. Rejuma makes a person younger from the inside out. That’s the revolutionary difference. So if you want a new lease on life visit www.rejuma.com.

FRACTORA

Fractora is a fractional rejuvenation and resurfacing treatment that reduces wrinkles to slow down the effects of ageing. The most commonly treated areas include lower eyelid, upper eyelid, smile lines, forehead, cheeks, mouth, neck, decollete and discolouration. Results can be seen after two weeks with improvements continuing for up to three months. We all know jowels or the dreaded “turkey necks” can give away our age as well as a multitude of sins. It has always been a notoriously tricky area to treat with invasive facelifts being the only real solution… until now. The FDA approved Necktite & Facetite are effective procedures for addressing issues of localised deposits of fat (aka the jowell) and works by tightening the area whilst recontouring using gentle yet deep

heating (or scientifically known as radio frequency assisted lipolysis) to melt down and suck excess fat into the area thus breaking down and recontouring the problem area. The only other procedure to do this previously was liposuction but this can damage the sensitive areas of skin being treated and lead to the skin turning lax…not what you want when trying to get rid of a turkey neck. The procedure can be performed under local anaesthetic or light sedation and the results can be seen immediately and fully by 6-12 weeks post-operative. There is also a Bodytite procedure which works wonders on the abdomen, love handles, legs and breasts. A compression garment is worn for a period of six weeks after.

STEM CELL REJUVINATION

At the forefront of cutting edge aesthetic medicine is the use of stem cells to repair and regenerate the skin. Patients are asking for help to regenerate their skin, heal scarring or even treat alopecia and male pattern baldness. It is a completely painless process not requiring surgery and usually carried out with a numbing cream. It involves obtaining

a patients stem cells from their fat (usually a 2mm pinch of skin at the back of the neck above your hairline.) It is then mixed with a saline solution and vitamins to rejuvenate the patient’s cells before being injected into the “affected” zone.

This pioneering treatment holds a lot of promise. Stem cell regeneration is one of the most talked about advancements in general aesthetic medicine. Scientists claim this is currently one of the most effective techniques currently available on the market. Plus, only one treatment is usually required after which the results are visible after a few days. In the case of alopecia, it will take 6 weeks to see the full effects of the treatment. There isn´t a minimum age to test out Stem Cell treatments, although it is after 25 that patients start to lose their natural collagen so not advisable before this age. It is advised to only carry out stem cell regeneration treatments with a qualified medical practitioner.

DERMAL ROLLER

At first glance, a dermal roller may appear to be a miniature barbaric torture device, but it has in fact become one of the most innovative approaches to skincare treatment in years. Dermal rollers are known to be an effective treatment against elements like wrinkles, fine lines and skin stretching. They can help to thicken the skin, smooth scars and diminish the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. The magic lies within the fine needles that penetrate the skin as it is rolled across the surface. The tiny pinpricks help to stimulate collagen and elastin production, which aid in plumping the skin in problem areas such as laugh line areas or forehead wrinkles. Proven to increase chemical absorption up to 1000 times, dermal rollers are commonly used along with skincare products such a moisturisers, anti-wrinkle or anti-aging creams and even essential oils. As the holes are put in place, the product

Instead of just sitting on the surface, skincare products are able to be fully absorbed in multiple layers of skin. Dermal Roller is available at Bliss Hair & Beauty. T-SHAPE MACHINE

Wrinkles, saggy jowls, muffin tops, bingo wings, loose thighs, chubby belly….. have we got your attention yet? No matter how young or beautiful, every woman has one or two areas of concern, which they would love to improve if given a magic wand. Unfortunately, with age and the joys of menopause, these issues could very well be multiplied and the magic wand usually only comes in invasive forms such as liposuction, facelifts, botox, etc. Now there is a quick, comfortable and easy solution for smoothing those wrinkles and thighs, lifting those jowls and

to use Botox at in their 20’s and 30’s will have less fine lines and wrinkles in the Botox targeted areas because the muscles will be relaxed and unable to produce their wrinkles.” For a great deal on Botox on the Costa Del Sol - €90 for one area and €250 for 3 areas (with free top-us as required) contact registered nurse Christopher Hutchinson on 0044 7921 482261.

buttocks and flattening that tummy without expensive or painful surgery. T-Shape is a new, non-surgical, anti-cellulite and fat reducing body-contouring treatment and a rejuvenating, skin firming/lifting facial treatment in one. It works with three different yet synergistic technologies; radiofrequency to tighten and tone the skin, lipo-laser to melt the fat and vacuum to assist lymphatic drainage and to smooth cellulite. After only 4-5 sessions you can see a very noticeable difference and sleeveless tops and bikinis could be an option for you this summer if you´d previously shuddered at the thought of baring all on the beach. T-Shape also gets very good results with refining the jawline and firming up the delicate skin on the neck and the décolleté. BOTOX

Without a doubt Botox is the most common procedure on the market these days. When it was first introduced in 2000 it used to be only associated with A-listers and women over the age of 40. Now Botox is as common for women as getting a leg wax with millions of woman advocating the face-freezing injections. What´s more according to recent statistics, 35% of Botox users are people in their 20´s. According to medical practitioners despite people in their 20´s having hardly any lines or wrinkles, having Botox in their 20´s is actually good. “Botox is also popular as a preventative measure against ageing. Patients who begin

Look in the mirror and scrape back your hair into a tight ponytail. Ta-dah! Your wrinkles magically disappear and everything is lifted back to positions they last held in the 80s. This is certainly the cheapest way to achieve the effects of a facelift, but for a more permanent change consider the Ponytail Lift. The procedure is designed to mimic the improved appearance that comes with pulled back hair, with lifted brows, cheeks and jowls, and is minimally invasive. “The ‘pony tail facelift’ is simply a marketing name given to a treatment known as an endoscopic forehead lift,” says Dr. Kaye from Ocean Clinic in Marbella. “We tense the muscles of the mid-face and forehead by making some small incisions hidden in the hair. It’s not a new technique – it’s 30-years old! The endoscopic techniques are having a renaissance because of the trend towards minimally invasive procedures, which give great results with minimal down time.”

LIFESTYLE CHOICES DON’T SUGARCOAT IT

Despite having all the botox and collagen in the world, what if… just what if… you could cut out one simple yet damaging ingredient from your life and look like you’re 30 and not 70? Take a look at sugar-free advocate Carolyn Hartz. For the past 28 years Carol has shunned sugar in her pursuit of the perfect face and body and has been making headlines in the process. Fed up of the highs and lows associated with sugar and a diabetes scare in her forties, she gave up the drug (yes, drug) almost 30 years ago and has never looked back. Carolyn boasts a bikini body and glowing complexion that many women decades younger could only dream of.

The Perth-based mother-of-three, said of her transformation: “A lot of women post 50 think that it's not possible to maintain a reasonable shape and weight when they reach 50 or beyond. I even speak to women who are in their 40s and who have had children and think they cannot regain their post baby body.” Hartz, who is 70, says while it may be 'a little more difficult' to stay in shape for women post 40, it can 'still be possible if you really want to work at it'. “We know our metabolism slows down as we get older it just means we have to take control and make healthier choices and work a little harder,” she said. “I believe it is very important to be aware of the type of food you eat and the quantity of food you eat. Being mindful while you are eating is a huge factor. Mindless eating can lead to unnecessary weight gain. I say to my customers "taste and enjoy every mouthful"... it will help you slow down and you will be less likely to overeat.” And when it comes to food, sugar is most certainly out, with Hartz opting for an alternative called Xylitol. “Research has shown that obesity in Australia has reached epidemic levels and sugar has been a major contributing factor” she explains. Cutting out the white stuff has done wonders for her with renewed energy and a face and figure to die for. Hartz said her skin feels taught and she knows that while most women her age would be hiding their faces in shame she takes everyday in her stride and reassures it is her sugar free lifestyle that is giving her – “her new lease of life.” If you can opt for sugarfree completely it will work wonders, otherwise aim to cut down on the white stuff.

DE-STRESS

Did you know… all the cells in our body contain tiny clocks called Telomeres that determine how long each cell lives. Telomeres are little caps at the end of chromosomes that prevent loss or injury to genetic information during cell division. However, each time a cell divides, part of the Telomere is lost and it becomes shorter, eventually disappearing because of the divisions and damage that prevents each cell from reproducing itself. Hence the ageing process. Anyway what’s with all this science babble? Well before you throw this mag down - here it is… The chief enemy of Telomeres has been discovered by scientists to be none other than Stress. Therefore the breaking down of cells and premature ageing is primarily to do with leading a stressful life. Did you know Barrack Obama went grey after just a few months in the Oval Office? In which case, this theory is proven in spades. This outward sign of Barrack’s “grey-ageing” (pronounced gray-ging) was caused by the damage to his Telomeres. Think of this in simplistic terms as the outgoing president elects cells going rusty. So, what can we actually do to combat stress and thus delay the onset of wrinkles? Besides not becoming President of the United States. Well here you go…

YOGA

Research has found that participants in a 3 month yoga programme had increased levels of Telomeres in the bloodstream. Why? Because yoga fundamentally allows you to control your thoughts, not letting them spiral out of control. And if you feel more in control, you will simply be less stressed. That yoga retreat holiday your friend has been barking on about seems somewhat more appealing now?

GO NUTS

Pistachios also protect our DNA by lowering blood pressure in the fight against Telomeres destruction. The right food choices can help combat the ageing process so take full advantage of this simple anti-ageing rule.

EXERCISE RIGHT

If you look at a person pounding the treadmill next to you their face contorted, looking like they’re doing 12 rounds with Mike Tyson rather than a leisurely jog? Well this news will give you even more of a reason to gloat. This painstaking process is actually more counter-productive than the good work they think they are doing as if you don’t enjoy a workout, you will release stress hormones. Exercise should leave you feeling elated so be sure to choose an activity you really enjoy to shed pounds and destress you - be it swimming or a team sport.

POSITIVE THINKING

Research shows that pessimists have shorter Telomeres than optimists. Of course, too much optimism can make us deluded, but we all tend to expect the worst much more frequently than we assume everything will be OK. Think positive as opposed to negative (minus delusion) and you will be taking a leaf out of Carolyn Hartz book in no time.

EAT HEALTHILY

Good news… repeated studies have shown Omega 3s, found in oily fish, encourage our Telomeres to grow. Added to this almonds, cherry and other berry juices all act as antioxidants in the fight against cell division. Plus in a recent study, participants who took multi-vitamins had longer Telomeres than those who didn’t.

SLEEP MORE & OTHER BEDROOM ACTIVITY

Simple, but effective. Get eight hours sleep or more and you can be winging your way to looking wow, not ow. Oh, and have more sex… it’s good for the cells in the brain, apparently. Regular sex helps people look youthful for longer, an expert claims. Dr David Weeks’s research shows that older men and women with an active love life look between five and seven years younger than their actual age. Other British research has credited regular lovemaking with halving the odds of early death. Dr Weeks, former head of old age psychology at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital, said that people of all ages should be aware of the benefits of a healthy love life. Those who looked younger than their age claimed to have sex an average 50% more – in the 40-to-50 age group equating to three times a week rather than twice. Dr Weeks says that the pleasure derived from sex is a ‘crucial factor’ in preserving youth. Biology also plays a role, with sex releasing endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemicals. You have been told!!!

NIKKI BEACH

H

ead to Nikki Beach Marbella for your very own slice of paradise. Situated in Elviria, a short drive from the centre of Marbella by the Don Carlos Hotel – it is heaven on earth at Nikki Beach Marbella. A stunning split level restaurant, bar and pool area with white cabana beds and palm tree lined sea views. Plus friendly staff, beautiful people and a menu to die for - we knew we were in for a real treat. On our arrival we were greeted by the Nikki Beach team. Both Spanish and English speakers (plus we’re pretty sure every nationality is spoken here amongst the 12-strong serving team) we were able to choose which level to enjoy our lunch and sun and shade options were offered. Very uncharacteristically for Spain on a hot June day we opted for sunshine near the pool and glanced through the extensive cocktail list. Nikki Beach is famed for “fun in the sun” and this was definitely the case. The Passion Fruit Mojito was fresh, fruity and had the just the right amount of kick from the rum while the Saint Tropez Sparkle with Tattinger Champagne, vodka, strawberries and pineapple juice was simply divine.

GREAT STARTERS WITH FRESH INGREDIENTS

For our appetizer we were brought a colourful sharing platter

94 MARBELLAROCKS | ISSUE 32

consisting of Artisan Bruschetta, Hawaiian Tuna Poke, Sexy Salad and a Dubai Mezzah of hummus and mohamarah with homemade pitta bread. A great starting selection made using the freshest ingredients. A great way to taste the various international inspired dishes on offer while still leaving room for looking good in your swimsuit/shorts for poolside lounging later.

FOR SUSHI LOVERS

Next up was our Starters and the world famous Nikki Beach Sushi Dragon containing Marbella Spicy Tuna Roll, Saint Barth Salmon Roll, Nagiri, Sashimi, Asian Wakame Salad with pickled ginger, wasabi and light soy sauce. A real treat for Sushi lovers as there is something for everyone – usually recommended as a sharing platter for 2 people. The sushi was fresh and the flavours of the fish and accompanying sauces complimented each other perfectly.

TASTE EXPLOSIONS

For our other Starter the Goat Cheese Truffles contained three varieties of cheese – garden herbs, sundried tomato and tartufata beautifully presented on a bed of baby spinach, red beetroot with roasted red peppers, shaved fennel, toasted pine nuts with an olive oil crostini. Delicious and light, despite containing goat’s cheese, and all with incredibly differing taste explosions.

TELL ONLY YOUR BEST FRIENDS

Our attentive waiter Jorge ran through the impressive wine list with us after we turned down a second cocktail (we would highly recommend a taxi to and from Nikki Beach at this stage if we had!) and while there is a huge selection on offer - being lunch we opted for a glass of the Nikki Beach house rose, the Cotes de Provence Cru Classe, which went perfectly with the Main Courses we had selected. Without a doubt, my favourite dish of the day was the Roasted Sea Bass, which was served intricately spiralled with salad, lemon, leaves and side of freshly steamed jasmine rice and grilled vine tomatoes. Pure perfection. The Bodrum Turkish Kebab containing grilled and seasoned ground beef and lamb is also well worthy of a recommendation. Served with arugula salad, chili rubbed onion salad, warm lavash bread, hummus, tzatziki, quinoa tabbouleh and roasted tomatoes – this a great way to get enjoy the Turkish inspired dish and all the Mediterranean flavours and spices in one surprisingly healthy meal. Served on a traditional leaning kebab stick this was a fun touch to the meal. Finally, we reached the Desserts where we tried the Apple Tarte Tatin with homemade vanilla pod ice-cream and the Greek Yoghurt Panacotta. Both were fantastic and while we were struggling for room, we managed to devour most as they tasted so good. A sure testament to the fabulous Nikki Beach chef Patrice Godino – who we were fortunate enough to chat to as this month’s 60 Second Interview on page 128. All in all a trip to Nikki Beach this Summer is highly recommended and should be on everyone’s to do list. Steeped in history, you will not find a more decadent place to dine and enjoy your time in Marbella. Plus throughout July and August from Thursday to Sunday, Nikki Privé opens for dinner so you can enjoy their delectable, internationally inspired menu for evening meals also. As Nikki Beach would say; (in a husky, sexy voice) “Tell Only Your Best Friends.”

To make a reservation at Nikki Beach Marbella visit: www.nikkibeach.com for online reservations, or email: reservations@nikkibeach.com or call +34 952 836 239 Having won the Best Beach Club for 2 years in a row at the prestigious Marbella Awards you can go and see why yourself if you haven’t already.

art’s sake ARTIST PROFILE

GABRIELA GIRS Gabriela Girs, or more affectionately known as Gabynsky Art, is an artist born in Helsinki, Finland. She studied art in open art schools in England and Spain, but mostly she is a self-taught artist with a very strong personal style that has made her well known across Europe. Gabynsky, 41, has had her work exhibited across Europe at several locations and sold through the world famous Saatchi Art Gallery among others. In April 2017, Gabynsky was awarded the Gran Artist of Marbella Trophy from the Association of Marbella International.

Her latest collection, Luxury Dogs by Gabynsky Art, is all about dogs with Louis Vuitton jackets and Champagne. Fun and frivolous. This collection has already been sold to the US even before the launch of the exhibition. The dogs are painted mainly with acrylic and the finishing touch are done with a process to make them look like vintage paintings Luxury Dogs Tour is starting with a one night only exhibition at the famous Puro Beach on 9th August where original paintings will be shown. From there the exhibition is heading to Parallax Art fair in London followed by a Baltic tour to Russia and finally back to Spain in Spring 2018. The dogs are Gabynsky’s imagination, except for her own pooch, the bodeguero Rosy. She loves to personalise her dog paintings with names and make them characters. Traveling trunks appears next to my dogs, as this is how Louis Vuitton started in 1831 in France, primarily as a trunk maker. After visiting Reims, as a guest to Clovis Taittinger and being hosted by them so kindly Gabynsky felt the need to include a Champagne bottle with her next dog. The family history of Champagne houses are inspiring and interesting. Gabynsky likes to break typical modern interior design with art that puts a smile on your face, gives a touch of luxury and looks like vintage pieces. Already massive prints are sold across Europe and it has been fascinating to see Gabynsky’s work in so many places and so many beautiful homes. Original Dogs are available for reservation but due to the planned exhibitions, delivery will be late summer 2018. Canvas or paper prints of all Luxury Dogs are available for ordering. Gabynsky added, “I wish my dog art will spread good spirit around the world and bring happiness to many homes.” E-mail: ggirs@icloud.com Instagram: Gabynsky Facebook: Art by Gabriela von Girs www.saatchiart.com/brisa Canvas prints on wooden frames as well as paper prints are done by www.d2artcompany.com. DISASTER A woman pulls the perfect yoga pose, but she is unlikely to be at peace when that wave hits

STRIKES

At least this climber gets to keep a souvenir of his now long lost glasses

Little does this bride know that her pristine white dress is about to be spoiled by a guest's pint

What could have been a perfectly Insta-ready shot has been sabotaged by a greedy dog

A collection of perfectly timed photos capture the moments before disaster strikes as this teen is about to find out

One woman's sunbathing session is about to become a lot less relaxing thanks to this mutt

This man is about to be in for a real soaking much to his mates' amusement

This mischievous man seems hell bent on ruining his pal's sunbathing session

Hoping to achieve a sweet selfie with this duck this teen wasn't expecting to walk away with her fingers burned - or bitten in this case

The horror captured on this woman's face is something anyone who has dropped a snack can relate to

It looks as though this cyclist is in for a painful landing after running over this drain

While his friends look on this man does his best to cling onto the railings by an ankle

One young boy is going to be needing some plasters after his front wheel did a runner

124 MARBELLAROCKS | ISSUE 32

With such a cluttered shelf and one very clumsy cat this scene is guaranteed to be headed for disaster Despite finding a four leaved clover this woman is about to find out she's not having much luck

These cringeworthy pictures capture perfectly timed disasters just before they strike. Be it a drink about to land on a bride on her wedding day or a dog literally about to wee on a sunbather in the park – you can be safe in the knowledge that you’re so called mates will be there to capture the catastrophe.

It's a good job these women are going surfing because they're going to need a hose down after being hit by that almighty puddle This photo is bound to make any man wince as this little boy is in for a world of pain

The boy on the far left is about to be in for a VERY nasty surprise thanks to his team mate This loving grandmother makes her best efforts to catch her grandson

This extraordinary photo captures the moment a balloon bursts as this young boy uses a hose to fill it with water While it makes a good photo composition the photographer is bound to end up with a few bruises

This toddler appears to defy gravity as he slips on some ice

The expression on this girl's face perfectly sums up the emotions we have all felt when a shopping bag splits particularly when it is full of round goods and you are on the stairs

While trying to capture an adorable selfie, this woman's dog thought it the perfect opportunity to vomit

As this couple embrace for a photo a careless party goer swings a drink in their direction making for this unusual spot

Career changes or bringing work projects to a conclusion dominate the month. You’re on show and about to be noticed in some way so make certain it is the right way. Your image or reputation are going to be important and July sees you in a position to impress all the right people - in every area of your life. Expect your ambitions to be fired up as you flex those professional and even romantic muscles in order to discover just what you can achieve. Right now the term ‘punching above your weight’ simply may not apply to you. There’s a desire to reach for something you previously may have thought above your reach - that dream job, dream lover or just that attention you’ve been craving - and deserve. Love affairs could sizzle with red hot chemistry. You’re not waiting for things to happen this July - you make them happen just by being there. It is quite possible this is your busiest and best month Aries, make sure you make the most of it. Love and career choices are paramount to this.

Have you ‘settled’ for something which deep down inside you knew to be too much of a compromise? Or perhaps you’ve just been keeping quiet about things so as not to upset the status quo. This month sees you unable to keep up any kind of pretence. Freedom or the desire for something bigger, more passionate and alive means you could just upset the apple cart or those closest to you. But the truth is what sets you free and that’s obeying your inner truth about what you truly want and need. By now you should have learned that ‘settling’ or telling yourself you can’t have or achieve what you truly want, just results in unhappiness and discontent. Something unexpected could just break you free of that second best decision or propel you out of that rut you’ve fallen into. Conversely, if you’ve been made to feel by someone else you’re second fiddle, now’s the time to show you play the violin. July offers a chance to go far - either through travel or by moving away permanently from what no longer brings you joy.

Ask yourself if that unwelcome feeling of insecurity is real, a product of your imagination or even whether someone is deliberately pushing your buttons? Are you feeling put out, put down or even put upon? Chances are someone wants you on the back-foot this July and you may have to step-up and let them know they have crossed the line. If you are involved in any kind of negotiation - and this can be anything from your salary, to your contribution to the joint account, it’s important you come from a place of confidence and no fear. Above all, don’t let emotion sway your decision but stay practical. There’s a tendency to act and speak without thinking. The good news is that you’ve the ability to get your point across, negotiate on your own behalf, and also push forward with work, business, study or any project that involves writing or communication. How you value yourself in all your relationships and how you get your worth across, determines whether this month is a ‘Ka-ching’ or a Ka-put’. You choose.

Partnership matters, collaborations with people you work closely with, or dealing with that awkward person or even that mortal enemy, have you realising that no matter what, it takes two to tango. If you’ve been waiting for kick-starter love, then that person finally asks you out or you’re the one who now makes the first move. No matter what area of life it is - you don’t want to be flying solo and you’re also more sensitive and accommodating than usual to people’s needs. If you’ve been dealing with someone who rubs you up the wrong way or is just plain unpleasant, July could see them sashaying away for good. You’ve a yearning to experience more of the good things life has to offer - pleasure, sensuality, parties, sparkle, glitter and glamour send pulses and temperatures soaring in you and you are off in hot pursuit. If anyone has underestimated you, you are now in a position to show them how wrong they’ve been. Wear something that gets you noticed - red preferably, and get ready to experience the Power of Two in some way, shape or form.

By now you should know that the lead up to your birthday often sees you going within, shedding what no longer works for you anything from excess weight, connections or that outfit; and then emerging even more golden, glorified and refined. Your annual birthday rebirth begins in July and sees your confidence at an all time high. A new work/ life balance could be one of the first changes sweeping in with a job that doesn’t just involve working to live but fuses living with what you do. When setting your direction for the year ahead, focus first on what you do. If you know you need to make changes in any area - and chances are you are fully aware of what you need to do, then don’t wait. In fact, “Do It Now” should be your mantra for the next 12 months. Procrastination doesn’t just stall potential - in your case it can totally derail it. The next 12 months brings you an opportunity to secure something for your future - a home, a family or establish a significant goal. It’s a year to do what you love - and begin that today.

You seem determined to get to the truth behind something or someone this month. Delving deep, uncovering facts and above all, following your gut when it tells you something is ‘off’ may mean the rose-tinted glasses come off, but the truth sets you free. No matter what, listen to your intuition and heed its advice. When it comes to love, it’s now either all-in as feelings deepen and intensify, or all-out as you realise the person is not for you. Disappointed? Work gets shunted to the backburner as your feelings and insights take precedence as does the need to go out in search of a good time. Consider that sometimes a distraction can be exactly what we need. Not so much Mr. or Ms. Right, but Mr. or Ms. Right Now. Whatever transpires this month, you’ll learn to see that there have been signs along the way that this was coming. Whether you’ve paid attention or chosen to ignore them will determine if your reaction is ‘I figured that’ or ‘No way!’. The universe is giving you a ‘heads-up’ on your future this July so follow the signs.

It’s all about your image, how you present yourself, how others see you and yes, the wonderful world of you. Expect to find yourself on a bigger stage than usual or moving to a front-of-house position in some way. What you say, write or communicate will be important and you could be interacting with a wider audience than ever before. You could find yourself interacting with large groups of people or else those from many different backgrounds and walks of life. Your social life is a hot zone right now, but temper this with wisdom especially if you are with people or out and about in areas that are not that familiar. Have fun but exercise caution if necessary. You may also come to realise that you have outgrown some connections and if so, you’ll be off in search of new ones to fill the void. Overall, this month is all about putting yourself out there in some way. Join that group or club. Post that blog. Accept that invitation you would normally turn down. Make this a month of accepting all opportunities that allow for a new connection. You’ll quickly discover that if you do, good things will happen.

Family matters, your home life, as well as decisions affecting where you live and your long term career could see you wrestling with that work/life balance this July. Have the scales become tilted too far one way? If your personal life is a mess you’ll see work isn’t your avenue of escape - and vice versa. These kinds of issues may see you having to carve out some serious down time in order to get things back in perspective. Don’t be afraid to do that - and to take the need for this seriously. If things are out-of-whack in one area, then consider the fact that no one area of life is more important than another if we are to be there for the people we love - and ourselves. You are no good to anyone if you are running on empty and if this is what has been happening lately, you could suddenly find yourself hitting a wall. Butting heads with people in authority - whether it’s your boss, a parent, an authority figure, could just be another sign you need to slow down. If your attitude is ‘My way or the highway’ then consider taking the low road it could be a far better option for you in the long run even if it doesn’t appear that way now. Success is actually highlighted for you this month too Scorpio, so don’t be too tired to enjoy it.

Money, money, money. It’s not about what you have in your bank account per se - but more about your relationship to what you have. So, what kind of relationship is it? If you want more money, then looking at where you and your money are at is a good place to begin. Has money told you it’s over and it’s not coming back or are you all loved up? Again, it’s not about how much you have but what you feel about your money. If your money is a person what does it look like? Tom Hiddleston in a bespoke suit or Kim Jong-un sporting his Worker’s Party approved hair cut? Talk to this person and see what Tom or Kim or whoever has turned up has to say. Whatever it is, you’ll benefit from it. Chances are you’ve got major itchy feet now as the long distance travel sector in your chart ignites your desire for exploration. Sure, you can tell yourself money can’t buy you love but it does pay for all those things that make life worth living for a free spirit like yourself - airline tickets to romantic and exotic faraway places and it also gives you the freedom to explore whatever it is you dream of. And let’s face it you dream big.

But what about me?! This month may have you wondering when it is ‘my turn’ as you may have been so focused on compromise or bringing about a win/win situation you may have ended up feeling like the loser. Or else your wishes just don’t count. Invisible? You may just be feeling that way. If so, take a step back before jumping on the blame train and ask whether or not you just neglected to ask for what you wanted? Or just made one too many concessions? This month is all about being acknowledged, seen or taking back your power if you’ve been giving it away lately. Are you afraid to ask for what you want whether it’s a long overdue raise, help with the housework or telling that intrusive family member once and for all that no, they are not welcome to turn up unannounced at 7am. Only you know where the boundaries need to be reinstated. Funny thing about people who ask for what they want. They almost always get it. If they don’t, then they know they were never going to get it from that person anyway - which in itself gives them back their power. And that’s the funny thing about people who have their power back. They’re no longer invisible. You know what you have to do this month Capricorn, go get ‘em.

Whatever is hidden deep below the surface is likely to come bubbling to the top this July. Either those repressed feelings or something you or someone else has been doing their very best to keep hidden. Something from your past now gets put in perspective and in doing so, you could just reframe your experience and create a new future as a result. Your intuition, creative abilities and psychic skills come to the fore now. You may even feel you have one foot in this world and the other in another dimension entirely. Spooky coincidences, cosmic encounters, lucid dreams with a smatter of mind reading thrown in, show you a deeper, more spiritual dimension to what’s going on. Expect people from your past to reappear or to encounter people who you feel you have known before even though you just met them - and consider the possibility you have. You could be drawn towards charity work, volunteering or helping people or animals in need. It’s not a material or even a party month but what it is for you is a month where you come to understand a deeper dimension of life and pardon the cliché - but love is all around you and all you need after all.

Your social life takes on a distinct Parisian turn this month. Small restaurants, intimate gatherings, talking up a storm, laughing with like minds - it’s about the quality of the connection for you. As a result, you’ll be looking at how your friendships reflect who you are. The people we surround ourselves with are often mirrors. You may look and realise what you see in them is a distortion and as a result, could walk away from people you once spent a lot of time with. Don’t worry if this happens as others will appear to take their place. Material concerns may take a backseat now. Chances are if money is tight you will find your network is happy to foot the bill. Networking is most likely your keyword this month as yours expands effortlessly. Be ready to pass out business cards and receive others in return. Out of all of this at least one important connection should emerge. At work you’ve got the energy to make changes but ensure you are not rubbing people up the wrong way. It’s a good time to apply for something new if you need a fresh challenge and someone in that larger social circle could now hold the key.

Patrice Godino is the head chef of Nikki Beach Marbella. He cooks up signature dishes representative of all the countries where Nikki Beach is located. This includes delicious salads, creative sushi rolls, seafood entrees and slow-roasted free-range rotisserie chicken. Marbella Rocks caught up with him in this exclusive 60-Second interview.

Patrice Godino Is it hard to incorporate all the various international elements into the Nikki Beach dishes? So far, throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work in various countries. Through this exposure, I have learned the skills required to cook very international dishes. For this reason, I would say it was not difficult for me to incorporate all of the various international elements needed into Nikki Beach dishes. What’s your favourite dish to cook on the Nikki menu and why? There is a dish on our menu called, “By the Sea.” This is by far one of my favourite dishes to cook. The reason is purely due to the meaning behind this dish. It is created with the elements of a beach, such as seaweed, pebbles and seawater. These elements are used to cook the fish and seafood. For me, this portrays a “seabed” and represents the spirit of our beach club. What is your favourite dish to eat if you had to choose just one? With such a wide variety of options on our menu, it is quite difficult to select just one dish. Each dish represents a different feeling; therefore my choice would automatically change depending on my mood and humour. What is the most challenging dish to create and why? To create a dish that exists within the menu is not necessarily the challenging issue we face in the kitchen. Rather, it is the creation of new dishes that pose a challenge to us as we must retain the essence of our Nikki Beach concept. An idea which could seem brilliant, may not necessarily fit the image we strive to maintain. Can you tell our readers about the new healthy corner part of your Summer 2017 menu? In today’s day, more and more people are concerned about their health and the benefits that certain foods provide them with. Keeping this in mind, we decided it was time for us to introduce a “healthy corner” for those guests who enjoy good food for good health. Each dish within this section of the menu includes

nutritious ingredients and is prepared in the healthiest manner. Is this going to be incorporated every year? Definitely! The healthy corner has proven to be quite popular. Therefore, it may even occupy a bigger space in our menus in the future. Where did you train to become a chef? My chef training began in France. However, it did not end there as I travelled throughout the world to gain more skills and learn the different cooking methods used in different cultures. Does being French give you a natural advantage when cooking? In many ways, I would believe that being French has given me a natural advantage when cooking. However, this is due to the way we are trained in France. Chefs in France are trained in an “old school” manner with a military style discipline. With this we become strong characters in the kitchen who know how to work in an efficient and structured manner. Additionally, due to the variety of food products available in France, we gain a broad understanding of gastronomy. Have you worked under any famous celebrity chefs? During my experience so far, I have had the great pleasure to work with celebrity chefs, Alain Ducasse, Sergi Arola and Santi Santamaria. IF SO, What were they like? Each of these chefs has a strong image of iron fist characters. While that is true, I must confirm that they each have an incredible charisma and are masters of the stove. With military style disciple and zero tolerance, there is no doubt that they are in full control of their kitchens. It is that attitude that I admire, and aim to keep in my kitchen. What is the best thing about working at Nikki Beach? The best thing about working at Nikki Beach is the team. I work closely with Chef Brian Molloy,

Director of Culinary Operations for Nikki Beach Worldwide and enjoy doing so. We have a very collaborative relationship. The entire team is very professional and, therefore, I feel a great sense of gratitude to be a part of their family. At Nikki Beach, we celebrate life every day and make it contagious. I am proud to share that behind the scenes, we are disciplined and passionate, equal to a Michelin-star restaurant. What´s your greatest culinary achievement? As I am still young, with the desire to experience and aim for many more things, it is perhaps too early for me to answer this question. Best advice you’ve ever been given in the kitchen? The best advice I have received in the kitchen is that there is no merit to do well in your job, rather the best merit comes through the hard work and strong efforts you put in to be the best at your job. How do you handle the pace on a busy daytime or event? A strong leader is nothing without his team. Just like a maestro who manages an orchestra, each musician must know what he has to do and when he has to do it without playing the wrong note. What couldn't you live without in the kitchen? I can’t imagine my life without the kitchen. It has been a part of my life since I was a young child, cooking during the weekends in my dad’s restaurant. Best thing about living in Marbella? The best things about living in Marbella are the climate, culture and history. I used to travel a lot and the quality of life that is offered in Marbella is very unique. I have not quite experienced anything similar to this lifestyle elsewhere. Worst thing about living in Marbella? The worst thing about living in Marbella is that it is a seasonal location. Due to this I am unable to carry out my passion 12 months a year.
