DEMI LOVATO ON ROAD TO RECOVERY Demi Lovato is safe, well and on the road to recovery at an undisclosed rehabilitation centre, after being released from Cedars Sinai hospital in Los Angeles, where she was being treated after an opiod overdose on July 24th. The alarm was sounded by Demi’s friend who asked the paramedics not to play sirens as they arrived at Demi’s residence, in an attempt to cover up the overdose. Demi’s life was apparently saved with the controversial anti-overdose
reversal drug Narcan before she was taken to hospital and treated until she entered rehab. Having just celebrated her 26th birthday she recently took to Instagram to thank her fans for their continued support. “I want to thank God for keeping me alive and well. To my fans I am forever grateful for all of your love and support this past week and beyond. Your positive thoughts and prayers have helped me navigate through this difficult time.” It is believed she will spend at least 3 months in rehab before being allowed to leave and resume here music career. Our thoughts are with you Demi.
SPENCER & VOGUE TIE THE KNOT Reality star Spencer Matthews and model Vogue Williams have tied the knot in a lavish wedding at a stunning Scottish castle. The bride, who was 6 months pregnant, chose a demure bespoke Paul Costello Gown – noticeably in ivory not virginal white! Meanwhile Spencer wore a three-piece midnight blue suit as the secluded wedding with just close friends and family took place. "At the time it was so wonderful but almost dreamlike. It took a little while to sink in, but I certainly feel married, settled, and happy," Spencer said. "Everything has fallen into place. As we’ve said before we are best friends, we love being together, so it does feel just perfect. We’re delighted.” The couple have jetted off on a mini honeymoon for 5 days but will be back in blighty for the impending birth of their first child.
YOUNUS MOVES ON RATHER QUICKLY Kourtney Kardashian’s former boyfriend Younus Bendjima has moved on rather quickly since their split last week falling into the arms of Tyga’s ex Jordan Ozuna. The 24-year-old model, who dated Kourtney for 2 years, was seen frolicking on the beach in Mexico with his new girlfriend who is only 25. Meanwhile Kourtney, 39, has shunned the limelight and chosen to spend time with her 3 children by Scott Disick; Mason, Penelope and Raine. Expect to her seething on the new series of KUWTK.

news SOHO HOUSE RECUITS YOUNGEST MEMBER Amid the London heatwave Simon Cowell - who is busy filming the new series of ‘X Factor’ - decided to inaugurate his son Eric, aged 4, to become the youngest ever member of exclusive private members club Soho House. Cowell paid the annual £925 membership fee so his son’s nanny could take him for a dip in the pool while he and Lauren were busy with work commitments. The Shoreditch club has a rooftop terrace pool that Eric can paddle in alongside other celeb members including Kate Moss, Jude Law and Prince Harry. The local leisure centre or swings in the park obviously don’t cut it for this little dude.
CAITLYN DATING INSTAGRAM MODEL Oh dear. Caitlyn Jenner, the 68-year-old transgender KUWTK star has revealed she is dating a 22-year-old Instagram model called Sophia. The pair developed an unlikely friendship after meeting at a charity event last year and now Caitlyn claims they are “inseparable.” Recent graduate Sophia went one step further asking her fans to quiz her during a Q&A replying that they are in love and could be getting married. Sophia regularly shares pictures of the couple at Caitlyn’s Malibu mansion where she lives with Caitlyn and their dog Bertha. Former Olympian Caitlyn who was married to Kris Jenner and has 5 kids, including model Kendall and make-up mogul Kylie, is said to be over the moon with the blossoming relationship.
CHERYL ANGST OVER LIAM’S MODELISING Liam Payne has been having a whale of a time since his split with Cheryl Cole – having been pictured out cavorting with three models since July. The former 1D star picked up Winnie Harlow at the MTV VMA’s and has also been seen holding hands with Cairo Dwek in Cannes and unnamed model in London at the beginning of August. All this and he is not even into the second month of his split from the former Girls Aloud singer. According to pals Cheryl is worried that Liam, 14 years her junior will be introducing these new flames to her young son before the time is ready. Either that or it could be a case of the green eyed monster. Get back out that Chezza we say.

JUST JUMPING IN MY AIR TAXI At least 20 companies, including aviation giants Boeing and cut price ride firm Uber, are developing air taxis that are run by battery power to eliminate the noise and pollution associated with helicopters and planes. With this many companies in the running to create the first battery operated air ride it is obviously a race to the finish line with high demand for customers who plan to dominate the sky and skip the queues on the roads. But experts are discussing whether battery energy storage technology can improve this significantly in the future to warrant this. At the current rate of
development in the tech it is possible with battery energy density rising by 5 to 8 percent per year. However, for batteries to be at a point where they make sense in small-scale aviation, they will need to achieve about five times their current density. At the current pace of battery and electric engine technology, it probably won’t be until 2030 that even hybrid electric technology is used in commercial aviation. But it is definitely on the cards. So before you start swearing in gridlock again think Fifth Element style transportation could be with us sooner

than you think with Uber announcing last week it will launch test flights as early as 2020. The giant recently hired Tesla’s in-house battery expert, Celina Mikolajczak, to head up its effort to develop a battery that was powerful yet light enough to get its planehelicopter hybrids in the air. “The chemistry tech on cells and batteries is going to get better and better,” Mikolajczak said at Uber’s Elevate conference in Los Angeles. “So that means the aircraft with all electric powertrains are also going to get better and better.”

The idea of meshing the power of the human mind with electronic stimulus and responsiveness has long existed in science fiction but according to reports from the likes of computer giant Intel we will all soon be controlling everything we see and do via microchips implanted in our brains. While it’s currently possible to implant a chip in the brain and even get one to respond to or stimulate gross neural activity, we simply don’t understand the brain’s nuance well enough to create the kind of interface that would let you channel surf by simply thinking about it. Well not yet anyway. “Neural communications are both chemical and electrical,” Professor Liebhold says. “And we have no idea about how that works, particularly in the semantics of neural communication. So yeah, somebody might be able to put electronics inside somebody’s cranium, but I personally believe it’s only going to be nominally useful for very, very narrow therapeutic applications.” In reality, we likely won’t be controlling our devices with a thought in 2020 as Intel has predicted although some neuroscience experts have predicted this technology will be widely available by 2030, although will Joe Public be keen to undergo the operation (said to be as minor as having a tattoo done with the same downtime) by inserting chips in their brains. The jury’s out on that one!

RECIPE STICKY ASIAN STYLE SALMON This delicious Asian inspired sticky salmon with rice and veg from Jamie Oliver is a great healthy dish that can be cooked in under 35 minutes and contains only 640 calories per portion. Tasty and healthy.
INGREDIENTS (Serves 2)
l 150g brown rice l 160g tenderstem broccoli l ½ cucumber l 2 tablespoons soy sauce, reduced salt l 2 limes l 2 teaspoons sesame seeds l olive oil l 2 120g fillets of salmon, scaled and pin boned, from sustainable sources l 3cm piece ginger l 2 spring onions l 2 teaspoons honey
moving in the pan. Tip into a small bowl. 5. Place the pan back on the heat, turn the heat down to medium-low and drizzle in 1 tablespoon of oil, add the salmon fillets, skin-side down, then cover and cook for 5 minutes. 6. Peel and finely grate the ginger. Trim and finely slice the spring onions and add the whites to a bowl with most of the ginger. Add the remaining soy sauce, honey and the juice from 1 lime, then mix well to make a glaze. 7. Pour over the salmon, turning to coat, then cook with the lid off for a further 2 to 3 minutes, or until beautifully glazed and just cooked through. 8. Drain the rice and tip back into the pan with the broccoli and ginger. Squeeze in the juice from the remaining lime half, season to taste and stir.
METHOD 1. Cook the rice in a large sauce pan of boiling salted water for 25 minutes, or until tender. 2. Place a colander over the pan and cover with a lid. Chop the broccoli into 3cm chunks and add to the colander to steam for the last 8 minutes. 3. Cut the cucumber in half lengthways, scoop out the seeds, then finely slice into half-moons and place into a small bowl. Drizzle with ½ a tablespoon of soy sauce and squeeze over the juice from half a lime, scrunch and toss together, then leave to pickle. 4. Toast the sesame seeds in a dry frying pan over a medium heat for 2 minutes, or until golden, keeping them
WINE MATCH Asian sticky salmon combines the richness of the salmon meat with the sweetness of a honey and ginger glaze. As the honey makes the salmon sweeter than normal, you have to find the right wine to pair with the meat. A Pratello Rielsing is a good choice for Asian inspired salmon dishes, thanks to its dryness and it also infused with apple and lemon flavours setting off the sweetness of the honey. We also love the Adobe Gewurztraminer from Chile or if these two wines are hard to find we can recommend any good, dry Riesling which will do the trick nicely.

news MOVIE REVIEW
CITY OF LIES Based on Randall Sullivan's bestselling book ‘Labyrinth’ a detective investigates the murders of rappers Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. and with this the implications of Death Row Records' and the origins of the Los Angeles Police Scandal, which was first serialised in Rolling Stone magazine. The film is set in the mid-1990s where Los Angeles is rife with crime, poverty and racism. Detective Russell Poole, played by Jonny Depp, is a straight-shooting detective, who is assigned to investigate a cop-on-cop shooting and stumbles upon a web of corruption woven into the fabric of the department. As he delves deeper into the mire of scandal and deception, he is met with increasing resistance from his superiors and frozen out by his fellow officers. Poole then uncovers damning evidence that certain officers in the department were moonlighting for Death Row Records. When he manages the task force assigned to the Notorious B.I.G.'s murder, he uncovers further evidence that these same men were linked to the murders. In the ensuing case Poole uncovers ignites a firestorm of controversy which prompts two lawsuits against the LAPD. Forest Whitaker plays a journalist also seeking to uncover the truth about the murders both taken place in 1997, Tupac was shot in Las Vegas and Biggy in LA shortly after.
ALBUM REVIEW
MEGHAN TRAINOR – TREAT MYSELF Meghan Trainor’s third studio album, ‘Treat Myself’, is a real belter and testament that Megatron as she affectionately known by fans is here to stay. The album – released by Sony Epic Records on August 31st - will not disappoint. As usual Trainor writes, performs and produces all her own material but this time with a little help from her family. "It's really special, my entire family sings on every song and [fiance Daryl Sabara] sings on every song," Trainor said of the album. "My father plays the piano and organs on one song." “It’s obviously me being in love and happy, and reminding myself to choose happiness and love myself," she added. Trainor has already released three singles from the new album, "No Excuses," “Can’t Dance” and "Let You Be Right” which are all performing well on iTunes. However many believe is it a risky move to release three songs before the album date. Most artists have one or maximum two precede the album. Die hard fans will of course get their hands on the album but has she peaked by releasing her best tracks? Time will tell if Grammy Award winning Trainor can garner a third smash hit album.
BOOK REVIEW
SMALL COUNTRY – GAEL FAYE French-Rwandan rap star Gaël Faye’s debut novel shares the title and narrative of one of his most famous songs “Petit Pays” (French for “Small Country”) and is informed by his own complicated biography. Faye, like his protagonist Gabriel, is the son of a French father and Rwandan mother, and left Burundi for France after the outbreak of the civil war and the Rwandan genocide. Small Country opens with a young disillusioned Gabriel in Paris, going on countless first dates with beautiful girls who always ask: “So, where are you from?” When he informs them with cold cynicism, that his identity can be weighed in corpses, they don’t react—they’d rather keep things light than dwell on the violence that shaped his childhood. And so, not even the lanky and languid girls can hold his interest for long. Increasingly haunted by his homeland, he realises that until he acknowledges the past he’ll never be free enough to imagine his future. This book delves into the disturbing issue of genocide and reveals the damaging effects it has and how it destroys lives even decades after the disasters occurred.

GETTING DOWN WITH DIMITRI Grammy nominated producer, remixer and composer Dimitri From Paris has pioneered the disco scene for an impressive 35 years. Headlining the 51st State Festival on August 4th, he has made every member of the 25,000-strong crowd jump on their feet and party. Dimitri makes every one of his repertoire of reworks sound effortless; no mean feat when the original tracks are by the likes of Disco’s greatest musicians including James Brown and Nile Rogers. When Dimitri left the stage after his performance at Trent Park, we accosted him and found a glamourous spot backstage next to a digger to quiz the DJ on all things disco. So Dimitri, what made you fall in love with the disco genre? Oh wow, where do I start? The live element. You feel the energy and the actual soul with disco, more than any other form of music. It has real instruments, it is organic and it is better than any other form of dance music - in my opinion. I love the raw beat and strings - a perfect blend of pretty and beautiful.
You were influential in getting house music played on mainstream radio in France and Europe. Was it a hard move at the time? I am happy to help people discover music and people tend to go with what they know. I love sharing music I love.
You have modernised disco. What spurred you on? It has always been my dream to share music with my fans. Disco has it all.
You have collaborated with some musical legends including James Brown, Nile Rodgers, New Order, Bjork and The Brand New Heavies. Who was the best to work with and why? I loved working with Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards. They are disco greats and made a very strong imprint on how music is played today. I actually feel honoured that I can remix and play their songs that I grew up listening to.
If you could collaborate with any musical act who would it be? Jay Kay from Jamiroquai is insane. ‘Return of the Space Cowboy’ is amazing. ‘Cosmic Girl’ is one of the best contemporary disco tracks. I would love to get him back into disco. Let’s make it happen!
Dimitri From Paris Present Le CHIC Remix album was released on Glitterbox Recordings on 27th July. How’s it going? It’s doing well and it feels amazing to be accepted by the disco greats that I grew up listening to. Listen for yourselves. The disco genre is almost 40 years old but I really feel recreating this album is a huge honour. Not only to remix but to get new tracks approved by the artists themselves.
32 MARBELLAROCKS | ISSUE 44
What album are you most proud of and why?
Honestly my latest album, Dimitri From Paris Presents Le CHIC Remix as I really believe Nile Rodgers and CHIC are the pioneers of disco. It feels amazing to be accepted and to work with such greats.
What makes this album stand out compared to your previous albums? It’s a revival.
What was the night like in the Playboy Mansion, as per your album title? Tell me you have been!
Yeah, it was fun. Hugh is a lovely guy. Surprisingly, soft spoken and very elegant.
You are obviously here enjoying the 51st State Festival and the London crowd at Trent Park. Where do you like to DJ most in the world? I love London! Although, Paris and Japan are my favourites.
Do you think there will be a resurgence in house music as hip hop and RnB still seem to dominate the club scene these days?
People tend to go with what they know and what makes them feel comfortable and that is fine. I think there is room for everything and we don’t want one thing to be the same all over – it will get boring. People are inspired by what they love and disco is in a good place right now. There are other forms of music that are around but all we need is a few to take inspiration and get the roots of disco and let it flow.
Having a career spanning three and a half decades is pretty impressive. What are your plans for the future?
Do you know what? I never plan the future ahead – it’s up in the air. I am so happy to get new people and artists involved. I love sneaking in between the mainstream and the underground. Stay there and make people happy.
Now for our quick-fire round of questions.

WORST CHARACTER TRAIT? Not tolerant at all.

WORST ITEM OF CLOTHING?
FAVE COUNTRY TO DJ
I have a bad neck tie collection. There are a few really cheesy ones. I have thrown the worst ones away though you’ll be pleased to hear.

FAVE ITEM OF CLOTHING Bow tie.
WHAT’S YOUR POISON? I have none! People think I do because I go to parties and clubs etc. but I prefer to sit down and listen to the music.
WHAT COULDN’T YOU LIVE WITHOUT It’s cheesy but it has to be music.
3 THINGS TO TAKE TO A DESERT ISLAND

BEST CHARACTER TRAIT I am pretty loyal.
Dimitri From Paris Presents Le CHIC Remix is a 20-track album featuring three brand new remixes alongside the much-loved essentials all brilliantly remastered for 2018. There are tracks that have resonated with artists from Frankie Knuckles to Disclosure and Gilles Peterson to Mark Ronson. Alongside the remixes, there are instrumentals of each completing the ultimate bumper pack. Dimitri is set to perform at the Glitterbox Closing Party at Hï Ibiza on Friday 28th September.

Lamborghini Urus:
The World’s First Super SUV?
W
hen you think of Lamborghini; the creators of the world’s fastest, most lavish and spectacular supercars, you typically wouldn’t think of a 2.2 tonne SUV. Until now that is. Think of it as Italy’s answer to the Bentley Bentayga even the new and outrageously opulent €250,000 Rolls-Royce Cullinan that we looked at back in our July issue doesn’t come near.
Whilst the styling might not be to everyone’s taste, the exterior is unmistakably dripping in all the flamboyant essence we expect from Lamborghini. From its aggressive stance and huge rims, to the cavernous hexagonal front grille and sharp lines; it showcases all the outer hallmarks of the brand we know and love. But under the hood is where the Urus proves it’s a true super SUV. Admittedly, a colossal naturally aspirated V10 would have been sensational; however the Urus actually draws power from a thumping 4 litre twin-turbo V8, producing 641bhp and an organ-rearranging 627lb ft of torque. The engine is mated to a swift-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission and it is this potent mix that makes it capable of catapulting you, your spouse, your
42 MARBELLAROCKS | ISSUE 44
children and your dog (!) to 100kph in just 3.6 seconds - placing it among the fastest production sports utility vehicles on the planet. And despite the fact the engine meets its redline at a rather mild 6,800rpm, it delivers maximum torque from as low as 2,250rpm; meaning all that staggering performance is available at any slight tease of pressure from your right foot. Who said the SUV market was boring? All that power is thrust into the tarmac through Lamborghini’s latest 4WD system with active torque vectoring, and features four-wheel steering for increased slow-speed dexterity and sharper handling – a key component for such a monumentally sized machine. In terms of ride and comfort, the Urus boasts adaptive air suspension with active roll stabilisation - giving the driver confidence over a variety of terrains and undulating surfaces. And helping the 2.2 tonne Urus to slow the pace, are some sizable 10 piston 440mm carbon-ceramic brake discs up front and a couple of 370mm rotors on single pistons in the rear. From inside the cockpit, the Urus exhibits all the exquisite natural leather, alcantara, carbon-fibre and plentifully bejewelled switchgear you’d expect to see in any Huracan or Aventador. But unlike the aforementioned supermodels, the Urus offers three rear seats, Isofix points and 616 litres of boot space - easily expanded to 1596 litres, if you ditch the kids and stow the rear seats – making it perfect for trips abroad. The price for this family-friendly Lambo is in the
region of €185,000 before options. But as you’d expect from Lamborghini, there is an extensive list of bespoke options to absolutely make the Urus your own. Lamborghini have really pulled out all the stops to ensure the Urus truly stands alone as the world’s first super SUV. It offers all the performance, style and charisma the marque is revered for, and all the practicality and usability you’d ever require from an ‘every day’ family supercar. So if your commute, weekly food shop or daily school run require some spicing up, the Urus could be just what you need in your life. We love this thing and can’t wait to get behind the wheel. For more information on the Urus, visit www.lamborghini.com.

TOP 10 AUTUMN/WINTER FASHION TRENDS
Words by: Natasha Franklin-Mitchell

A
s I sit peacefully under the limited shade of an apple tree during this unexpected, yet much welcomed, London heatwave, it seems almost unimaginable that those crisp autumn mornings will soon be upon us. However, fear not for whilst I kickback with a pen in one hand and an iced lemon water - I hope to bring some solace about the impending close of this summer season and add some furor about stepping into the Autumn/Winter 18/19 season in style whist wearing a pair of Miu Miu heels. The overarching principle this season is 'female empowerment’, a seriously hot topic of recent debates. Perhaps more importantly, the looks are all about making women feel great. Many of the trends are reminiscent of those over the past few years reworked with unique new touches to ensure there is something to suit every taste and body shape. So sit back, relax and read my definitive guide on what to wear … and how to wear it.
Animalistic
The love for all things animal printed has gone wild once again. Catwalks were bustling with models dressed from head to toe in the boldest zebra, leopard and tiger prints. Whilst the catwalk's philosophy was more is more, in order to prevent yourself from looking like a clone of Bet Lynch, my advice is to choose one key piece and make this the centrepiece of your outfit. Choose either a skirt, bag, blouse or jacket and build the rest of your outfit subtly around that. For a chic look, wear animal print pieces with black, and a pair of killer heels; for a more casual daytime look, team your animal prints with a softer palette and a pair of flat shoes. The fabric you choose is also key to the success of this look and can mean the difference between ending up looking like Gigi Hadid or Kat Slater. TOP TIP - Opt for natural fibres over synthetic where possible.
to suit every body shape. Here are a few of my top leather jacket picks to suit any budget.
For a worthwhile investment purchase at just over a third of the price of a Balenciaga, try this ‘Rokh’ biker jacket - €1420 available at Net-A-Porter
Splashing the cash, try this Balenciaga biker jacket - €3200 available at Net-A-Porter
On a budget, not a problem, try this versatile leather jacket from Topshop. An essential wardrobe must have. I especially love the burnt orange autumnal lining. Available now for €179
For any vegans out there looking for good synthetic alternatives - and they’re out in there in abundance I must add; try this for a fraction of the price at just €49 from Topshop.
The Cape
The superhero inspired cape made its return to the catwalks this season. Choose sharp, sophisticated styles for a smart look, alternatively opt for a casual Missoni style knitted cape- great for draping over the shoulders on a cool autumn evening.
Zara - Snake Print Dress €79 Gigi Hadid for Max Mara
Leather
I often get asked what wardrobe pieces are worth investing in and I always say a good quality leather jacket is something everyone should have. It can be dressed up or down and carries through seamlessly from day to evening. This season I am happy to report that leather made an appearance once again on the catwalks, and in an array of garments, with styles

features Sci-Fi Metallics
Add a touch of futurism to your wardrobe with a splash of metallic shine. I recommend choosing shades of silver which were all the rage on the catwalk. To ensure you pull off this edgy look, I recommend saving it for the dance floor. Here are some of my top picks to ensure you look out of this world.
Balmain
anything. For an edgy take on the look make like Prada and wear in strikingly bright colours, a far contrast from the heritage tweeds we’ve become accustomed to.
Perfect Pleats
Made to be worn with an edge this season, knife-pleated midi-skirts ruled the catwalk. Forget teaming with frumpy blouses and instead wear with contrasting textures such as a fluffy ‘Balenciaga inspired’ jumper in a hot colour for a bang on trend look. Whether for work or play, these pleats work best when worn with a belt around the waist to create the perfect silhouette.
If you want to show off those perfect pins and slender shoulders, go for this Lasula cowl front sequin dress. Available from ASOS for €38
Balenciaga
Metallic pleated skirt. Available now, Mango €39.99.
Silk Scarf Revival
For those of you who are apple-shaped, opt for this sequined shirtdress to cover the midsection. Zara €39.99
If you want to hide those bingo-wings, opt for a dress with sleeves like this embellished sequin skater dress with flute sleeves, by ASOS Edition €150
Now may be a good time to raid your mother’s wardrobe and strip it bare of those retro silk scarves, as blown up scarf prints were all over the catwalks. If you’re not quite ready to wear these prints from head to toe, the easiest way to incorporate this trend is by wearing a retro scarf around the neck.
Time for Tweed
This popular trend just won’t go away. The best thing is, this season, you can wear it with

Salvatore Ferragamo
Burberry Scarf €120
The Seventies
With female empowerment in full force, what better trend to revive than that of the 70s decade. Think Charlie’s Angels and wear hues of mustard, burnt orange, cream and brick red on textured fabrics such as crochet and shearling. If I had to choose one essential piece from this trend, it would be the shearling coat - ideal for when the weather gets cold. You can spend as little or as much as you like and there are lots of options to choose from, here are just two.
Chloe
Loewe €2895
Glittered coin printed ‘Balmain’ top €225
Vintage logo ‘Gucci’ jersey T-shirt €370
Luscious Layering
Although the Marbella sun may not warrant the layering of two coats, a Christmas trip to Blighty might be the perfect place to showcase your layered looks. A tricky style to pull off, my top tip is to wear a thin layer pulled in at the waist, underneath a top layer to minimise bulk. Alternatively, blazers and shirts look great underneath a leather jacket- one of my favourite looks this season, as showcased on the catwalks of Alexander McQueen.
Reiss €295
Lust for Logos
Arguably the easiest trend to adopt this season is the trend I like to call ‘Logo Lust’. We all have our favourite design hero and this season we can declare our love from the rooftops by splaying their logo across the front of our chest. One rule to remember is to keep it real. Fake designer goods are not cool so take care when purchasing online and use a reputable designer retailer such as Matches or Net-A-Porter, both of which sell an array of on-trend logo T-shirts. Here are my top picks, which I believe are best worn casually with a pair of jeans.

RITA ORA
A
Rita Ora is coming to the coast and headlining the MTV Presents Gibraltar Calling Festival on September the 21st and 22nd and this year is tipped to be bigger and better than before with a star-studded line up including Stormzy, Rag ‘n’ Bone Man and Chase & Status to name a few. Rita is sure to rock the Rock and end the summer with a bang. But who is Rita Ora, where does she come from and what made her raise to fame. Rita Ora is a worldwide, multi number one selling recording artist, singer, songwriter and actress, and was a household name as one of our beloved judges on The Voice. At just 27-years-old Rita has acquired a net worth of $16 million, a $1.3 million home, which she gave to her parents after installing a 200,000 pound panic room to keep them safe, amid a terrifying break-in back in 2015. Four cars, including a Mercedes ML Class and a Cadillac XTS, and even bagged herself Cheryl Coles ex, 24year- old, One Direction megastar and heartthrob boyfriend Liam Payne at the recent MTV VMA’s. Rita was born Miss Rita Sahatciu on November 26th 1990 in Pristina, Yougoslavia (now Kosovo) to parents Vera Bajraktari, a psychiatrist and Besnik Sahatciu an economist and pub owner. Moving to London aged one, Rita began performing from a young age and graduated from the prestigious Sylvia Young Theatre School, which produced numerous British pop stars such as Emma Bunton and Amy Winehouse. Rising to fame debuting on DJ fresh number one single ‘Hot Right Now’ in February 2012, Rita then released her own debut album entitled Ora which also made it to the top of the charts, not only with the album but with two number one singles ‘RIP’ and ‘How We Do’. Rita then went onto meet Scottish super star DJ Calvin Harris and they fell in love and released the smash hit “I Will Never Let You Down” together. Rita could not have been happier, proclaiming that this was the very first time she had ever been in love, but Rita’s world was quickly turned upside down when Calvin publically embarrassed Rita on Twitter announcing their split after numerous tabloid reports of Rita partying with other men and Calvin seen out with other women. Broken hearted Rita then had her world further torn apart as Calvin placed a music ban on her from performing any songs they had made together. Calvin finally lifted the music ban earlier this year and Rita was set to be full steam ahead
on the final production and release of her long awaited second album. When tragedy hit Rita once again, when her good friend, inspiration and music collaborator Swedish superstar DJ Avicci, devastatingly took his own life. Rita had worked with Avicci on his last song he released before he killed himself “Let’s Be Lonely Together” and she feels responsible to bring out the message for him and will be releasing it again as part of her second album. Despite her hardships Rita still managed to release four songs internationally this year, and has made headlines with her controversial song ‘Girls’. Where she proclaims that “sometimes, she just wants to kiss girls”. ‘Girls’ has been used by many women as a song about empowerment and freedom but some in the LGBT community found the track to be insensitive to bisexuality. Rita apologised to anyone who had been offended and explained that "I ain't one-sided, I'm open-minded/ I'm 50-50, I ain't ever gonna hide it," during the first sing-song verse, she tells Billboard that "Girls" is more about being label-free. "I just really wanted to show a side of me that just represents freedom and the belief [that you should] really be what you want to be," Rita said. "It’s not actually that deep. It really is just about that. It’s a free message, and for me, really fun. It’s just a fun record." And all can agree Rita deserves a bit of fun after the last few years she has had. In a recent interview with Billboard Rita announced that she is finally releasing her long awaited second album this year and said “it’s been a long journey, we all know it’s been a definite up and down rollercoaster and I’m glad it’s all just came to a stand still.” After four long, hard years of heartbreak, setbacks and grief, Rita is finally set to release the album later this year. Rita told DIRECTV: "I think my fans can just expect tears, blood, sex, rock and roll, and the fulfilment of it finally happening! November is when I’m putting it out, because it’s my birthday month." If you haven’t already booked your tickets to see Rita Ora perform at the MTV Presents Gibraltar calling on September 21st and 22nd there is still time, tickets are available at www.gibraltarcalling. com. This is set to be Rita Ora’s performance of a lifetime as she sings for her friend late friend Avicci, women all around the world and for herself, in the admiration that she has persevered, endured and succeeded. You go Rita. Rocks salutes you.
“It’s been a definite up and down rollercoaster!”

Q&A WITH REEBOK’S RAFA S
ince my last column we have had a lot of questions from our readers about fitness and health in particular how I have sculpted my body. So this month will be all about you guys and I’ll try to answer your questions as good as I know how to. Hope it helps bring some clarity to our Fitness Community and spurs you on in your workouts. What do you do to stay motivated? I don’t believe motivation is the key to success. Neither when it comes to fitness or anything else in life. Motivation is great to get you started but it’s the determination that keeps you going long after the motivation is gone.
Rafael, or Rafa as he is known, is owner and head trainer of the new super gym in San Pedro, Reebok Hybrid. What is the difference between those two then? To me motivation can be listening to music or listening to a motivational speaker, maybe a look at old photos from the beach, whatever it might be it is always a source from the outside. Determination on the other hand is what you are telling yourself when the road has become so rough that all those strong voices dreams and memories are long gone and you just want to quit and give up. This is just not worth it! That’s where motivation gives up on you and it is there in that deep dark hole you can find determination, your inner strength. The refusal to quit, the refusal to give up! That is what determination is and that no one can give you. You can only find it within yourself. Do you mix up training sessions? Ie gym, sports/team games, swimming etc. I mix things up very much. A normal week usually contains - 2-3 sessions of Crossfit, at least 1 session of gymnastics, 1 weightlifting session and 2-3 lighter sessions with mobility, stretching and additional exercises
health & fitness
which normally are regular gym exercises. Plus, whenever any chance is given to do something out of my comfort zone I jump at the occasion. The further away we go from what we are good at the more we grow so the more we mix things up the better we get, look and feel. What is the best way to lose weight and keep it off? This is a new question I’ve never heard before!! Let’s start with the worst way to lose weight and keep it of. It’s believing that you can do some fantastic new diet from the mountains of Himalaya that was recently discovered by science when they studied the ancient teachings of the holy minks bla bla bla – we here so much about fad diets guys, but do not follow these as unlikely to help and you could end up putting more weight on than when you started. To lose weight is quite simple assuming that you don’t have any disease that makes you overweight. You need to lose more kcal then you consume and the more calories you burn during a day the bigger the weight loss. As we are habitual creatures so are our bodies. The more we do of anything, the easier it gets for us, meaning that when it comes to exercise the more we do anything the less effort is required of our bodies hence less energy spent. So to maximise your kcal consumption you have to always make sure you are really giving it your hardest in your trainings. The focus should be on different types of cardiovascular training and strength training performed in circuits. You should always add at least one compound movement and one explosive exercise. Compound exercises utilize multiple joints, this means maximum muscle recruitment, high nervous-system activation, and more stimulus for growth and burn, whether you're a beginner or advanced lifter.
Do you have “cheat” days? As I work with fitness and am a very active person in my work and private life I don’t struggle with keeping lean. Anyhow I don’t plan any cheat days - I eat more when I feel my body is out of energy and feeling a bit lower and keep my regular diet to 80% of the time. To get and stay in great shape doesn’t have to be so dramatic. As long as you understand that it is a slow process where the small daily routines is the things that makes us or breaks us you are on the right path. You don’t have to do perfect from the first day and you definitely don’t want to do a 180 degree life change as they seldom last. It’s much better to start changing one unhealthy thing every week and suddenly 3 months later you are living healthier then you thought was possible and it wasn’t even hard to make the change. So less preparing and planning to start your healthy lifestyle and more doing. Start tomorrow with liquidating one unhealthy thing in your life and add one healthy. It’s never the one big thing that changes your life it’s all the small things added up. Happy health people! Rafa
Do you train every day? Yes I do train every day except those days my body tells me to rest. I have learned how to listen to my body and distinguish when it is my body that needs rest or it’s my head that is lazy. As a beginner you definitely don’t want to train hard every day as your muscles aren’t used to that much intensity and you might have trouble building muscle mass if you are training more than your body can handle. Every second day as a beginner is the perfect amount of training when it comes to strength and muscle mass gain. When it comes to cardio vascular training there is no restriction. The more the better both for your health and looks.

Gastronomy Review
The View Bar O
n arrival I was absolutely stunned by the magnificent panoramic views of La Concha, the Mediterranean Sea and the 180° view of Marbella. As the bar is named The View I expected to be stunned with the surroundings, and I was not let down, I was just blown away and had to take a moment to marvel at the magnificent natural beauty of Marbella, as you will do too. The bar is beautifully decorated with both sides of the bar opening to create a refreshing breeze, and has a pool table and games for children. The atmosphere was very friendly with a mix of locals, tourists and families of all different nationalities, a perfect spot for people on holiday and a place that if you live here is great to become your regular haunt. I was greeted with a smile by the beautiful Bianca and seated on the terrace with a fabulous view of the valley. It was an extremely hot day in Marbella, temperatures were the highest they have been since 1977 during this gastronomy review, and we were offered a refreshing cocktail which was presented perfectly and really hit the mark. Looking through the varied menu I opted for the mozzarella and tomato salad – which was the perfect starter on such a hot day and the chef Manny’s delicious special salad dressing, developed in Paris apparently, was the piece de resistance. With the thumbs up from me, I was

very much looking forward to my main. For main I had the succulent BBQ Ribs and French Fries and succulent is exactly what they were. The type of ribs that slide off the bone and have you drooling just at the sight of them, just completely mouth-watering. For Dessert I opted for Tiramisu, which was as close to perfection as one could get, followed by a lovely glass of Sauvignon Blanc. What a fabulous evening. In all, the meal and the service was as good as the view and all the staff were efficient and friendly, with the kitchen staying open till 11pm more people were arriving later to eat. A great sociable place to enjoy a meal, snack or just come in for drinks. The View Bar, with a welcoming pub atmosphere, a pool table, open mic nights, entertainment by the famous DJ Russell Soden. Plus, The View plays all the major sporting games on its big screens. With the added bonus that is away from the traffic, the air was fresh when eating on the terrace outside and it was
a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of Puerto Banus and Marbella. The View welcomes all families, couples and singles to enjoy an amazing atmosphere, fabulous food, friendly staff and a great entertaining time. There is always something going on at the View and with Manny in the kitchen and the best view in town, what more could one want. The View bar is open 1pm until late and the kitchen is open 4pm until midnight and luckily for us all The View Bar is open all year round. I would highly recommend a visit.

YOU´RE JUST BROKE Hilarious collages of celebs have emerged on social media of late showing that money can indeed buy beauty. From Rihanna to Lana Del Ray the pictures compare the celebrities looking their best strutting their stuff down a red carpet with all their adoring fans compared to an image of them before fame and fortune looking….let’s just say, not so great. The pictures are enough to make you realise that all the glitz and glamour of their world is nothing but an illusion and we can all feel better knowing that they weren’t born with it.

ROCKS ASTROLOGY FORECAST Aries
Gemini
Leo
21 MAR – 20 APR
22 MAY – 21 JUNE
24 JULY – 23 AUG
Fortune favours the bold, this month, Aries. So don’t be shy when it comes to being upfront about what it is you want. A little enthusiasm goes a long way so show it whether it’s your interest in that job you’ve applied for or that potential love interest. Sometimes we need to play it cool but this just isn’t one of those times. Above all, take that first step towards whatever it is you want – or meet it (or them) halfway. Being the first one to start the conversation opens doors to opportunity and so much more. Let’s face it; being coy just isn’t your style. Time also to work your ‘brand’ or make any adjustments to your image you have been contemplating as first impressions count now. Remember, there’s something brave and also enchantingly disarming about the direct approach. So, whether it’s for business or pleasure, work that into your personal success strategy this September.
Speak with confidence and approach life with curiosity this month, Gemini. Especially when it comes to your ideas, what you have to say and the effect these have on others. And on shaping your future success. September puts you in a position to dazzle and make a lasting impression on anyone you meet whether it’s for business or purely personal reasons. You’re Prince or Princess Charming so it’s time to enchant, to weave a unique story and to draw others into it. Bring a touch of the theatrical into everything you do. See that interview or business pitch as a story where you are the lead character. The same goes for those personal interactions. Charm is your secret weapon. Above all, follow what you say up with action. It’s not enough to talk a good game, you need to bring it. Romance or any kind of meeting favours the intimate location where conversation flows and ideas can be heard and exchanged. Get talking.
September brings a renewed focus on your cash, assets, skills, work, values and that all important self-esteem. In other words the value you assign to yourself. Who or what makes you feel valued or adds value to your life? How you expect to be treated, rewarded and compensated reflects not just on your bank account but on your relationships too. Is it time to refloat your personal stock? When it comes to your actual money, it’s not about how much you have but how you use it. What you save or spend it on speaks about your values. Do you value yourself enough to ensure you reward yourself without tipping yourself into the worry of unnecessary debt? Get anything to do with credit cards, loans or major purchases signed and delivered by the start of October. When it comes to any kind of financial dealings, salary or pay negotiations or even the terms of a relationship – know your value and know your price.

Virgo
21 APR – 20 MAY
22 JUNE – 23 JULY
24 AUG – SEPT 3
Are you living a life you love or just living up to others’ expectations, Taurus? That’s just another way of asking are you living a lie? Conforming to how someone else has made us feel we should behave only results in a life half lived. Time to give yourself permission to be yourself and let go of what other people may think or expect. Pursue any avenue which allows you to express your creativity or just find simple, childlike joy in the process. Your intuition is broadcasting loud and clear about any areas where you are experiencing restrictions or are just bending yourself out of shape in order to please others. Stop the origami living once and for all. Giving yourself permission to be you will result in you reconnecting to pleasure and put you in the path of new friendships or even a romantic opportunity. Time to get real and let the real you out to play this September.
Say goodbye to time wasters. Want serious results? Then this is the month to take yourself and what you want, more seriously than you may have been doing in the past. Deal making of all kinds is favoured whether it is that business contract or sealing another kind of deal with a kiss. Ensure you are seen as someone who knows where they are going and the results they want to achieve. Serious commitment to a goal will get you taken seriously by others. Above all, September wants you to get very clear about what you are prepared to compromise on and what simply is a deal breaker. And being prepared to walk away from the table – be it the negotiating one or that date in a restaurant, if you arrive at the point where you realise you both want very different outcomes. This September’s big secret for you is the revelation that those who are prepared to stick out for what they want, usually get it. Maybe not always the first time around but eventually. And they don’t waste their precious time, energy or love in the interim. Seriously.
Go with your gut feelings this month, Virgo. Yes, I know you are the Queen or King or systems, details and doing things by the book. But September asks you to follow those nudges from your intuition which are going to prove every bit as reliable as schedules and checklists. You’ve access to what I call a Passion Barometer for the remainder of your birthday cycle. Is it moving up or down when you think about a particular person, goal, direction or situation? Yes, something can look perfect on paper but what does your heart tell you? Don’t be surprised if this leads you towards flirtation, the opportunity to kickstart a romance, work recognition or an opportunity to have fun and get yourself noticed for all the right reasons. Some things just defy logic and this is one of them. Above all, don’t sit on the sidelines acting like a spectator at your own party. Time to see and be seen and be open to who or what appears. Taking a chance begins with taking a chance on ourselves. That’s your superpower this month.

The first three weeks of September asks you to take a good look at what is working for you and what holds you back, is lived out or has turned into nothing but baggage you no longer need. Time for the great soul declutter we all need to do, but often shy away from, before our birthday cycle begins. Because you are the sign of the diplomat, you usually steer clear of direct confrontation or hurting people’s feelings. But the fact is, deep down you know something or someone needs to be let go of and what’s more, those hints just aren’t working. Relief will follow release. As will a surge of energy that was being misdirected into a lost cause or all that clutter in your closet. This birthday season could see the start of an important new friendship or a long term love. Your bank account should also be showing a marked improvement. Clearing out what no longer works or drains you simply makes space for something better. Give yourself the birthday gift of only retaining what you want to take into the future with you.
A month long window opens for you when it comes to career progress, Sag so make the most of the opportunity. Time for your best game face so upgrade that professional image if necessary. And also bring your best game. If career progress or even your finances have been nothing but hard work for little or no return lately, this month marks your turning point. Focus on what adds structure and stability to your life. Yes, it sounds boring I know but think of it another way – there is nothing more boring for a Sagittarian than not having the resources to fund those adventures and dreams. September marks the start of an important two month preparation period which is leading up to one of the biggest cycles of opportunity that you have experienced in over a decade. Think of this as laying the foundation for that. Focus on the here and now and not on the horizon. You’ll have all the time and indeed, the money, to go off in hot pursuit of that dream later if you do.
Free your soul this September, Aquarius. Deeply transformative changes unshackle you from burdens or whatever is holding you back. Either down to you initiating them or else they may occur anyway. Chances are however, change is overdue. For some of you these could revolve around your home and living arrangements. Changing rooms, sea changes, moving experiences, relocations or people moving in or out set in motion those life renovations and improvements you may have been putting off. These may not only extend to your home and lifestyle but also your career. Strangely enough what frees you or unchains you from anything that has become restrictive or a burden, ends up making you feel more secure. Others could step into a new, long term role that enhances their professional reputation and has the potential to build a solid foundation for the future. New people you encounter now could be with you for the long haul. Time to redefine what ‘family’ and ‘home’ mean this month.

Sudden startling opportunities or flirtation appear out of the blue this month, Scorpio. There’s an element of surprise and chance about you but what happens may not be as random as you think. New people could have a pivotal role to play in your future. Even if you don’t realise their significance when you first meet. Synchronicities are actually destiny in disguise. Don’t get too attached to plans and be open to change. Remain flexible or you’ll stop the flow of something that just wants to deliver what may be a golden opportunity for you. This is extended in the form of an invitation and like any invitation, it is up to you how your RSVP. Attendance is not compulsory. However, if it piques your curiosity or comes spinning out of nowhere, please don’t reject it out of hand. Remember – sometimes you just have to grab an opportunity when it arrives and before it moves in another direction.
If you’re feeling that something big is just around the corner – you’re probably right! This month could see you in the right place at the right time, telling a total stranger about that goal or vision you have. Only to discover they are in a position to help you. Either directly or via someone they know. Luck, synchronicity, destiny – whatever you like to call it, is on your side now. When it comes to that big thing – that goal, dream or wish, don’t keep it in in the realm of ‘someday’ any more. When we talk about ‘someday’ we all secretly know that day never arrives. This month asks you to ditch the someday mentality in favour of taking some kind of action right now, today. What can you do to move towards having or experiencing it? Make a contact, strike up a conversation, do some research, get writing or simply get doing? Take one step and watch how the chance encounters and ‘random’ lucky breaks start to happen. That big thing waiting to happen is you taking charge of your destiny, Capricorn.
This month may or may not offer you that deep one-to-one love experience but it will offer you the next best thing which is the love of friends. Your social life, friends, networks, groups, clubs and associations sparkle with potential as well as friends old and new wanting your company. However, when it comes to attracting someone special, you could just meet someone with whom there’s an intense and almost mystical sense of déjà vu. Finishing each other’s sentences even after you’ve only known each other a short time and a feeling of spooky but at the same time comfortable familiarity may lead to the feeling you’ve met before. If so, consider the possibility you have. Just ensure you don’t place that new lover on a pedestal if it’s a long term real thing you’re after. And take your time so you fall in love with the real person as opposed to a fantasy. Oh, and they want the real you too. You can’t hurry love and remember, whether it’s friendship or romance – it’s ALL love, Pisces.
