CHANNING AND JENNA SPLIT Hearts everywhere were broken last week as ‘Step Up’ superstar couple Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum announced their break-up. The world fell in love with the couple as they fell in love with each other on the 2006 ‘Step Up’ movie set and their marriage and family life has been followed by millions of adoring fans all over the world ever since. After nine years of marriage Channing and Jenna have released a heart-warming joint statement announcing their split. Stating that they have “lovingly chose to separate as a couple. There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision – just two bestfriends realising its time to take some space and help each other live out the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible.” However close family friends, report that Jenna
did everything she could to keep Channing, even allowing lengthy trips away with friends to try and give Channing the space he so readily craved, but this was never enough to keep Channing happy and he was always happier away with friends. However heart-breaking this must have been for Jenna, Cosmopolitan report that Jenna “seems relieved” and although reportedly gloomy in a yoga session, Jenna has been spotted with her wedding ring off coming out of the Soul Cafe in West Hollywood looking pretty happy. Speculation aside regarding the reasons for their split, Channing and Jenna are keeping a united front publicly and protecting their fouryear-old daughter Everly who is their number one concern, publicly dismissing any rumours that their split was anything other than amicable.
TRISTAN CHEATS ON PREGNANT KHLOE K Video footage has emerged of NBA Cleveland Cavaliers Player Tristan Thompson cheating on pregnant girlfriend Khloe Kardashian, just days before she was due to give birth. Whilst Khloe was in Cleveland preparing for the birth of her first born child, revelations of Tristan’s cheating went viral and made headlines across the globe. The NBA star is filmed partying hard with barmaid and Instagram star Lani Blair in New York City’s exclusive PH-D Lounge, and then leaving the Four Seasons with Lani in different clothing. To add further fuel to the fire, first hand sources have told the Daily Mail that they had seen Tristan and Lani ‘making out’ and ‘holding hands’ and the US Weekly sources state that Tristan and his group of friends see no problem in cheating and are known to party hard with multiple groups of women. Khloe’s recent Instagram update is a seductive, loving picture of the pair entitled ‘we are ready whenever you are little mamma’ but what Khloe was not ready for is a series of scandalising hot mammas coming out of the wood work to expose Tristan's cheating just days before she is ready to drop. Timing could not have been worse, even if Khloe wanted to head back to LA to the safety and comfort of her family she cannot, as she is too far into her pregnancy to fly. Proving that mum always knows best, Kris Jenna has reportedly never trusted Tristan and always had reservations about Khloe dating another NBA star, after her failed marriage to Lemar and with the US site TMZ claiming to have further footage of Tristan ‘kissing two women.’ Khloe’s fans are taking to the net to voice their support for Khloe with the general consensus being ‘You deserve better’ and ‘stay strong’ and with such a strong family network, 71 million followers and a net worth of around $40m, the blonde bombshell has more than enough to keep her strong. At the time of going to print, Khloe had taken Tristan back after he turned up at the hospital showering her with $40,000 worth of diamond jewellery blaming the incriminating video footage as being set up by a group of fame hungry groupies.

NEWS CARA AND PARIS – RELATIONSHIP OR RUMOUR Michael Jackson’s 20-year-old model daughter Paris Jackson, has added further fuel to the fire, in the relationship or rumour debate surrounding her and model/actress Cara Delevingne. The pair met at the MTV Movie Awards last year and reportedly hit it off straight away. Rumours sparked of their relationship as Paris added a cute video to her Instagram story of the pair having a slumber party together, and since then they have been caught kissing outside Carlitos Gardel Steakhouse, after what appears to be a double date with Paris’s godfather, Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin and his partner, former Disney channel actress Brenda Song. Onlookers reported that “Cara was sitting on Paris’s lap and they were both smoking together outside the restaurant as they waited for their table”. They were seen dancing and hugging and Paris was “resting her head on Cara’s shoulder
looking like she never wanted to let go.” Double date aside, last week Paris celebrated her 20th birthday at Hyde Sunset in West Hollywood and Cara was nowhere to be seen. Furthermore, she carried on her birthday celebrations partying hard with Leonardo Dicaprio’s wing man, 33-year-old promoter Andri Gillott and is pictured on Instagram draped all over him. Cara is yet to post anything about Paris and is keeping quiet about the status of their relationship. Cara is a spokeswoman for the LGBT community and is open about her sexuality, explaining in an interview with The New York times that her “sexuality is not a phase. I am who I am am” but is she keeping her relationship under wraps? A source told people that the two are just flirting and that Paris “has no plans to settle down”, but Paris was looking pretty comfortable with Cara leading us all to believe that their relationship is more than just a rumour.
BROOKLYN & CHLOE – MOST DEFINITELY OFF AGAIN! The famously on/off and on again couple are now officially off. Brooklyn Beckham and Chloe Moritz have dated since 2014 after meeting at Paris Fashion Week with brief stints apart in 2016 and 2017 citing “long distance” as the reason for their separation. Yet last month when supposedly “on” - Brooklyn was spotted openly kissing Playboy model Lexi Wood. Days later ‘Kick Ass’ star Chloe was seen out on a shopping trip with a male pal minus her gold friendship ring with Brooklyn’s initials engraved on it. She also liked an Instagram post which shows her sticking up her middle finger - a fan posted it after the Playboy kiss pics indicating it was meant for Brooklyn. Well after 4 years and now 4 separations the young couple have given their blossoming romance more than enough chances.
KATIE PRICE’S BOTCHED FACELIFT AT 39 Model and businesswoman Katie Price released pictures on Instagram of her face finally looking well semi back to normal, after it was ruined in a botched face lift last September. Fans begged Katie to stop having surgery but the selfconfessed cosmetic surgery junkie, just could not resist another free procedure, admitting that she will try anything that claims to fix your face, loves a good freebie, and did not do her research on the new £5000 ‘Silhouette Face lift’ procedure. What claims to be a non-invasive threadlift procedure left Katie’s face ruined and all the stage make-up in the world could not hide the dark circles around her eyes on the Loose
Women panel as her face appeared to be sagging on set. Katie flew to Brussels where her most trusted surgeon had to perform invasive surgery on Katie whilst she was awake to fix the botched job. True to form, Katie did not seem to be phased one bit, filming the whole procedure in good spirits. However, Katie is in the midst of divorcing husband Kieran Taylor and with yet another failed marriage and the trauma of her failed face lift, Katie’s self-esteem has been at a reportedly all-time low. Let’s hope the 39-year-old mum of five receives some #AuNatural products for her next birthday and she’ll be back on Loose Women in no time, looking fabulous at 40.

COACHELLA
Festival season officially kicked off with Coachella on April 13-22 in California’s Palm Springs. The pinnacle of the festival calendar saw the who’s who of the A list descend onto unmuddy fields to watch the likes of Beyonce, Eminem and techno supremo, Jean Micheal Jarre, whilst also sipping cocktails at glamorous pool parties. Billed as the US’s biggest music festival – it is also the place to purvey fashion and this season’s hottest festival trends. So ‘What’s Hot’ on the festival circuit this Summer 2018. Coachella, or Beychella as DJ Khalid renamed, was a hotbed of style gents so pick your style favourites from our list below.
TOTALLY TROPICAL Without a doubt the most popular look on the Coachella circuit this year was tropical and Hawaiian print. It has been doing the rounds for multiple seasons now with no signs of slowing down this Summer. Californian rapper G-Eazy worked this the best, teaming his tropical print shirt with skinny white jeans. Justin Bieber also nailed the look wearing a matching shirt and shorts while hanging out with pals as did Darren Criss.
GHETTO GOLD Moschino’s creative director Jeremy Scott embraced the current ghetto gold trend with a cool black tracksuit with a gold chain print on the top and bottoms. He looked even hotter with Gigi Hadid draped on his arm all evening.
ON POINT PREPPY Arnie’s son Patrick Schwarzenegger looked pristine in his preppy look white T-shirt, trainers and denim shorts as he posed with his girlfriend Abby Champion. The key to this look is brand spanking new clothing – clean cut and whiter than white whites!

CASUAL COOL Giving off the effortless vibe can be hard work but Brit actor Daniel Kaluya definitely didn’t spend much time coordinating his outfit, throwing on an Arsenal top and combat shorts. The same can be said for US actor Bryan Greenberg who opted for a white T-shirt and shorts.

WHITE LADIES Rihanna, Nicole Richie, Gigi Hadid, Paris Hilton and Whitney Port all wore white on the opening weekend of Coachella. Rihanna wore a double denim white ensemble in a nod to the sixties while Nicole’s floaty off the shoulder white dress was from her own festival friendly range, House of Harlow. Note to self… only wear if weather forecast is looking good and be careful of spillages – all day and night.
COOL COMBATS BOHO CHIC There’s not a festival on the planet without a couple of boho fashion aficionados. This year was a lot more sleek than boho chic. However, supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio did not let the side down with cute crochet boy shorts, a denim bustier and fringe denim jacket. Olivia Culpo also opted for lace, fringing and cowboy boots while model Romee Strijd added colourful bands to her boho braids.

Man up ladies. Utilitarian army pants were the order of the day for Kendall Jenner, Behati Prinsloo, Shay Mitchell and Rihanna – proving that doing it like the boys means comfort and style in one whilst avoiding any embarrassing knicker flashes. If you want to be in the “combat army” wear yours with a tiny crop to show off your assets and top up your tan at the same time.

Kylie Jenner, Amber Rose, Normani and Teyana Taylor slipped into black, orange and patterned skin tight onesies to show off their fabulous figures on the Coachella circuit. The winner of the style stakes here has to be Amber Rose – whose brightly coloured, party appropriate choice was a real head turner. Although a mention has to go to brave new mum Kylie, who slipped into a black Fashion Nova unitard less than 6 weeks after giving birth to baby girl Stormi.

Brave this season’s festival in a bodysuit. We have found the exact match to Kylie Jenner’s from US brand Super Nova and it’s a snip at only €19.99. Alternatively you can rock a constellation print black and white suit from Motel, available from ASOS.
BARELY THERE Flashing a bit of flesh is all too common on the festival scene. Itsy bitsy bikinis, bandeaus, crop tops and crochet cover ups were favoured by the likes of model of the moment Kaia Geiber (taking a much needed “disco nap” here) and rapper Iggy Azalea with her Christian Dior top, denim cut-offs and white Vans. The most risqué of the day was Victoria’s Secret model Jasmine Tookes who wore a bikini under a silver crochet cover up dress.

RECIPE VEGAN M’ HANNCHA Moroccan M’ Hanncha is a wonderful way to wrap up gorgeous smashed vegetables and grains to make a beautiful looking dinner, while also adding amazing texture – crunchy on the outside, soft in the middle. Healthy and tasty – are you ready to be part of the vegan revolution?
INGREDIENTS (Serves 6)
• 100 g pearl barley • 1 butternut squash, (1.2kg) • 2 red onions • 2 cloves of garlic • 2 red peppers • 1 big bunch of fresh coriander, (60g) • olive oil • ½ teaspoon dried red chilli flakes • 1 heaped teaspoon fennel seeds • 1 heaped teaspoon cumin seeds • 1 heaped teaspoon ground coriander • 100 g mixed dates and dried apricots • ½ a lemon • 10 sheets of filo pastry • 1 tablespoon shelled pistachios • icing sugar, for dusting
METHOD Cook the pearl barley then drain. Wash the squash, then carefully cut it in half lengthways and remove the seeds. Peel the onions and garlic, and deseed the peppers. Chop the squash, onions and peppers into 1cm dice. Finely chop the garlic with the coriander stalks (reserving the leaves). Place it all in a pan on a medium-low heat with 2 tablespoons
of oil, the chilli flakes, fennel and cumin seeds, and the ground coriander. Sweat with a lid on for 25 to 30 minutes, or until soft but not coloured, stirring occasionally. Destone the dates and finely chop the flesh with the apricots and coriander leaves. Fold into the veg pan with the drained pearl barley, squeeze in the lemon juice, season to perfection, then leave to cool. Preheat the oven to 180ºC/350ºF/gas 4. Lay out two clean damp tea towels on a large work surface, side-by-side, with the longest edges facing you. Working quickly but taking care, lay out 3 sheets of filo side-by-side with the short edges towards you, overlapping each one by 2.5cm and brushing between the overlaps with water. Lightly brush the sheets with oil, place 3 filo sheets directly on top, then repeat with another 3 sheets. Save the remaining sheet for patching up. As evenly as possible, spoon your filling in a line along the long edge closest to you. Brush the opposite long edge with a little oil. Working slowly and carefully, use the tea towels to help you roll it up and away from you into a giant cigar, keeping it on the damp tea towel at all times. Roll it into a large pinwheel, working quickly but handling it gently to avoid too many cracks. Gently slide it onto a large greased baking tray, and patch up any gaps, if needed. Brush all over with more oil and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until gorgeous, crisp and golden. Ten minutes before the end, smash and sprinkle over the pistachios and an extra pinch of each of the spices, if you like. Serve with a super-light dusting of icing sugar. Delicious with all the usual trimmings, or served with a spiced tomato sauce.
WINE MATCH If you are having a vegetable based menu the best option is to go with wines that are a bit more mature. With vegetarian food the flavours are more subtle so you have to be a bit more careful with your wine decisions. The obvious difference between vegetable and meat cooking is the absence of rare protein and animal fat which both tame the tannins of full bodied reds. Therefore the best option is to go for a Bordeaux, Burgundy, Tuscany or a Napa Valley wine (although pricier) that go well with a dish that is classic and vegetable based like this one.

NEWS MOVIE REVIEW
DEADPOOL 2 Let’s face it – who didn’t love the first Deadpool; the action, the drama, the special effects, the risqué humour… it was like Spiderman for adults, on acid. So we were, of course, so pleased to hear that Ryan Reynolds was reprising his role as the mercenary in the next instalment on May 18th – 2 years after the original ‘Deadpool’ broke all the Box Office records with a staggering €58million turnover. Ryan plays the charismatic role of Wade Wilson who struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Canada’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his facial disfigurement, whilst also killing the bad guys whilst also being funny and hot……. this is a role he relinquishes. Searching to regain his spice for life and win back his girlfriend, Wade has to battle his nemesis Cable played by ‘Goonies’ star Josh Brolin. Expect all the usual tongue in cheek gags, ridiculously OTT special effects and humour. Marvel have exceeded expectation here with an adult version of the comic book series that will entertain and thrill throughout. Not one for the little ‘uns unfortunately.

WILDNESS – SNOW PATROL
ORDINARY DECENT CRIMINAL
‘Chasing Cars’ and ‘Run’ warblers Snow Patrol are releasing their first studio album in seven years. The hiutus for the band is well and truly over and fans are elated. The group, fronted by Andy Lightbody, had their last smash album back in 2011 with ‘Fallen Empires.’ Their new 10-track album, ‘Wilderness,’ is set to be released on May 25th and it will go back to the bands ethereal roots with great ballads, thought provoking lyrics and catchy melodies. Lightbody commented on the album: “There are many types of wildness but it can be distilled into two: the wildness of the modern age, all its confusion, illogic and alienation and a more ancient wildness. Something primal, alive and beautiful and speaks to our true connectivity, our passion, our communion with nature and each other. This is the kind of wildness the album centres around – and the loss of it.”
Formerly one of Britain's most wanted criminals Paul Walmsley gives an unprecedented insight into the personal life, thoughts and feelings of an international drug dealer. Written from his jail cell in an explanation to his sick mother; after the suicide of his sister, ‘Just an Ordinary Decent Criminal’ provides a heart-warming personal account of the epic and sometimes terrifying adventures of an aspiring young footballer and talented musician from Liverpool who got more than he bargained for when he dreamed of notoriety in Europe. Paul’s journey takes a turn for the worst when his love of a lifestyle so far removed from what is attainable to his background draws him into the dangerous world of drug dealing. What at first seems like the answer to his prayers, has him praying for his life as he evades the capture of not only SOCA and Interpol but of dangerous criminal rivalries and lands himself locked away in Amsterdam on the run.

ULTIMA
PROMOTIONS Ultima Promotions has been at the forefront of Marbella’s most exclusive venues over the past 9 years. There's no question that these guys are responsible for throwing the biggest parties throughout Marbella history. Plaza Beach, News Cafe and the newest member of the team Mirage rightfully return for another summer season. But what have they been up to during the winter months, and more importantly, what have they got in store for us in 2018? Well, let’s hear it, from Ultima Founder Phil Savage. So Phil how did you get into the world of Marbella events, glitz, glamour and parties? Back in the day, I attended many events all over the UK, the Sintillate parties were a firm favourite. I met Spencer Fenton who was running the North West Sintillate events at the time, and to cut a long story short he offered me the opportunity to move to Marbella and help with the promotions. Even though I hadn't had much experience I was eager to make a good impression and dived head first into the role. Shortly after Martzio and Spencer allowed myself and Justin Moore (current Ultima photographer and friend) to start running several of our own events.
There are more promotion companies and booking agents in Marbella than ever before, what's unique about Ultima Promotions? We believe we're the best and I suppose with that claim we put pressure on ourselves to deliver. The Ultima team is extremely strong and its skill-set has been built upon each year, growing stronger and adapting to the promotions landscape as it changes. We've invested heavily in the team, social media and all our online content. We try to remain current yet relevant; we achieve this by signing new key Ultima team members, working alongside other great promoters, signing hot artists and releasing original promotional material. We're also very selective of the venues Ultima represents only working with the most exclusive and modern spots. However, the main aspect which sets Ultima apart from the rest is the solid work ethic.
You've been in Marbella for 12 years, how do you think it's changed during this time?
32 MARBELLAROCKS | ISSUE 40
The industry has changed a lot! There are many more day and night venues for all to visit making it much more competitive than it was. But, as the saying goes competition is healthy as long as you adapt and make it work in your favour. The big winner in all of this is the customer. Marbella has venues looking better than ever offering awesome events every night of the week.
You only opened Mirage last summer, and still, it won the annual Marbella Award for Best Nightclub, were you surprised? Well, I suppose I’m biased and believed after a successful first summer we had a good shot. Although, it's one thing to feel it's in sight and another to win it.
What sets Mirage apart from the other nightclubs in Marbella? I wouldn’t say it’s one thing that makes Mirage stand out, there are so many talking points about the venue. A grand chandelier centres above the dance floor, there's a huge HD video wall,
compared to the club floor, (but still loud) overlooking the harbourside streets of Banus. The middle floor is where the party's at, RnB/hip-hop tracks, luxury VIP areas and bottle shows flying out every minute. The Penthouse has undergone one hell of a transformation! It's all about house music vibes up there with the best rooftop views compared to any other venue in the port. Just wait until you see it, it's going to be the talk of the town.
What do you think has been your biggest promotional success/ highlight over the years? exclusive VIP areas including a VIP jacuzzi room and private darkroom, both of which are available to hire, and the whole venue is fitted with a Funktion One sound system (the best of its kind). It's one of the few venues that looks spectacular even when the lights come on at 7am.
With more clubs/bars and beach club options in the area, how are you finding the competition? It's heavy and gets even heavier each year, but I’ve honestly never been more confident! All our venues look and feel amazing, my team is experienced and highly motivated. Pre-bookings are at a new level in comparison to previous years and our event calendars across all venues are on point.
Managing clubs and promotions is a tiring lifestyle, how do you deal with all those late nights? When the summer arrives I quickly try to force a routine on myself. The first week is tough adapting your sleeping pattern. The constant workload keeps my mind focussed masking the lack of sleep, and it also helps that I love my work.
Plaza Beach has thrown some huge parties over the years, how do you think this summer will be? If the pre-bookings are anything to go off this summer will be our best yet. We have several sold-out events already. Generally, the feedback to our events calendar has been huge, the Plaza Beach emails are full on!
Candypants is your newest event residency at both Plaza Beach & Mirage ...what should we expect from these guys? I’ve always admired Candypants, their main focus is to deliver the best possible party for its customers and I love that about them. They cut no corners providing endless content, visuals and great giveaway props at all their events worldwide. Candypants is one to watch and definitely one to attend this year.
That’s a hard one.... I’m extremely proud of Plaza Beach, we started as a second- rate venue and developed it into an absolute must-visit MONSTER! News Cafe speaks for itself the fame of the venue constantly growing, it’s a steam train that just doesn’t stop producing incredible parties. But, I feel this all prepared me for my biggest accomplishment to date, Mirage. From concept to delivery and everything in between, what it took for my partners and the teams involved to produce Mirage is a momentous achievement, and all involved should be hugely proud of themselves, I certainly am.
Ultima as a company has established itself in Puerto Banus, but are there any plans to expand in Spain or elsewhere? There is a lot of talk and options to expand both locally, in Spain and abroad, but after such a mad 2016-17 we decided to max the potential of the venues we already have. Saying that I have no doubt I'll be looking for a new project to sink my teeth into next winter ready for 2019.
You booked some huge acts/DJ's last year, do you have any surprises in store for summer 2018? Yes, many! Currently, I can’t release the events publicly, so I'm afraid you will just have to wait and see...
Summer is around the corner, but when does it officially kick off? Soft openings Friday 27th – 28th April across all venues, the official opening events weekend is Thursday 3rd May - 6th May. All our venues open every day from this weekend, the true SUMMER BLAST OFF!
Besides Candypants what other brands are you working with this year? Kinky Malinky Sunday house-nights are back at Mirage, it’s their 15th season in Marbella! We also see the return of History, Aces, and Abode on spray weekends. MOKO is another new collaboration throwing RnB/HipHop events at both Plaza Beach and Mirage. At News Cafe Dubai’s Cartel are taking over Monday nights, as well as having many more weekly branded parties.
News Cafe has a great reputation and is a hotspot for celebrities, sports stars and influencers alike, what's the secret? I’ve said it before, the owners of News Cafe have a formula that works and they stick to it. It’s a well-oiled yet cutting-edge machine improving yearly. It's hard to compete with how versatile News Cafe is, it's spread across three levels each unique to the other offering a different mood, setting and beat. The downstairs floor is a bar environment, a little quieter

FESTIVAL FEVER
Festival season has officially landed. And if you are in Spain all summer you will not miss out. There is a plethora of great festivals – some closer to Marbella (MTV Gib Calling & Starlite) but you won’t have to travel far to get in on the tech, rock, indie or mainstream circuit as a short drive or flight away could take you to the most happening places. We have rounded up the best festivals so take your pick of the ones you want to attend.
PRIMAVERA SOUND Billed as one of the biggest Spanish music festivals with 3 stages and 18 hours of music a day this year more than ever, there is something for everyone. The electronic music space inside Primavera Sound inaugurated in 2016 continues to expand with the Xiringuito Aperol on which the festival will kick off on each of the three main days in the Parc del Fòrum. The music will literally reach the beach for the first time thanks to this area, in which as well as dancing to the sessions by heavyweights such as Four Tet, Daphni and Floating Points, festivalgoers will be able to have a swim and taste the popular paellas as well as see top global acts. Headliners: Arctic Monkeys, Björk, The National, Migos, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds When: 30 May - 3 June 2018 Where: Barcelona Price: €80 - €185 How to get there: Fly 1 hour / Train 6 hours / Drive 7 hours Tickets: www.primaverasound.es

SONAR Sonar is the pinnacle of the electronic dance music scene, pulling in the finest names but also those emerging from the underground, with a track record of spotting what's hot that's second to none. There's also some time to explore the electronic genre further, with conferences and talks by leading industry professionals and creatives. As the festival has got so big in recent years there is a cult following of party goers who descend on Barcelona in June to attend ‘Anti-Sonar’ where the bars, restaurants and clubs in the city are rammed every night to cater for their own growing following as the festival spills out of its city landmark. Either or are good. Maybe take the week off and go to both Sonar and Anti-Sonar? Just a thought. Headliners: LCD Soundsystem, Gorillaz, Diplo When: 14-16 June 2018 Where: Barcelona Price: €195 – 2 Day Ticket How to get there: Fly 1 hour / Train 6 hours / Drive 7 hours Tickets: www.sonar.es
FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE BENICASSIM Or FIB as it is affectionately known, is one of the powerhouses of the Spanish festival scene. Apart from MTV Gib Calling it attracts the biggest names in music and sells out well before its scheduled July date. Located close to the beach revellers often camp on site or have huge after parties on the stunning coastline well into the early hours after the top billed bands play their sets. Definitely one from the younger crowd, if we had to liken it to its UK equivalent V Festival would be its younger sibling. If you are 40 plus give this a miss. 18-30 year olds will be in their element. 2018 Headliners: The Killers, Liam Gallagher, Travis Scott When: 19-22 July 2018 Where: Castellón Price: €120 How to get there: Fly 1 hour / Train 4 hours / Drive 6 hours Tickets: www.fiberfib.com

AZKENA ROCK Representing the sharper edge of rock music is Azkena Rock. The two-day June rock festival compliments a line-up that reaches from punk rock to classic rock, from cult favourites to legends, all with an uncommercial feel that solidifies its 15-year history upon a foundation of love of rock and roll. Not one for the golden oldies (60 plus) as the Funktion 1 sound system may blow their granny bashers off but the crowd is definitely 30 plus. A good craic and lots of friendly people so if you are 25 and your 45 year old mum drags you there…go, you will have a good time. Headliners: Joan Jett & The Black Hearts, Gluecifer, MC5, Turbonegro When: 22-23 June 2018 Where: Vitoria-Gasteiz Price: €65 How to get there: Fly Tickets: www.azkenarockfestival.com
STARLITE MARBELLA Starlite is back for its fifth year in the stunning, acoustically beckoning quarry situated behind Marbella’s infamous Golden Mile. The small, but close knit, open-air venue, that has housed greats including Elton John and Santana is back with a bang. Sting is the biggest act in 2018 but do not be fooled; almost every night from July 11 to August 25 there are top singers, bands, tributes, club nights, arts and fashion shows along with the Starlite Village with its plentiful food and drink venues to keep the Marbella masses entertained. This is one intimate venue that has to be seen to be believed. Headliners: Sting, James Blunt, Pet Shop Boys, Jamiroquai, Il Divo When: 11 July - 25 August 2018 Where: Marbella Price: €55 – €395 (depending on the act & seating) How to get there: Taxi Tickets: www.starlitemarbella.com

BILBAO BBK LIVE Bilbao BBK ticks all boxes with its mountainous backdrop, nestled on the slopes of the Arriaz Mountains with an intimate atmosphere away from the city itself, the festival provides some of the most fantastic views over Bilbao. Bilbao BBK has been nominated for “Best Foreign Festival” at the UK Festival Awards and for “Best-Medium Sized European Festival” three times running at the European Festival Awards. If its breath-taking scenery, great acts and a great crowd vibe you are after (holistic and earth loving Glastonbury lovers, take note) then this is the festival for you. Headliners: Florence & The Machine, The XX, Gorillaz, The Chemical Brothers When: 12-14 July 2018 Where: Bilbao Price: €115 How to get there: Fly 2 hours / Drive 8.5 hours Tickets: www.bilbaobbklive.com
DCODE The Madrid based rock and indie festival that attracts fans from all over Europe is back for one last blowout in September. Apparently 2018 is the last, so make the most of this one, as the University is banning it – the Madrid enrolment level may not be so high now (and they have no one else to blame but themselves). Anyway the day-long bash gets underway at 11am as the line-up drawn from the best indie and rock bands around makes its way to the centre stage. And with it being just the day, most people tend to pair it with a trip round Madrid, taking the party up to a weekend. Headliners: Imagine Dragons, The Vaccines, Bastille When: 8 September 2018 Where: Madrid Price: €60 How to get there: Train 3.5 hours / Drive 5 hours Tickets: www.dcodefest.com
MTV PRESENTS: GIBRALTAR CALLING The Victoria Stadium, with its stunning backdrop of the Rock of Gibraltar, will be coming alive again this September as MTV and the Government of Gibraltar bring back their epic festival. Due to FIFA commitments the festival is scheduled later than normal this year and on Friday and Saturday so take the day off on Friday if you need to. This year UK grime artist Stormzy, the Grammy Awardwinning Rag n Bone Man and Two Door Cinema will be performing alongside more than 25 others with new acts being announced over the coming months. With 2 stages and tons of activities including food and drink stalls, this year is set to be bigger and better than ever. MTV Gibraltar Calling is a family friendly festival and if you preregister children under 12 go free with accompanying adults. Headliners: Stormzy, Rag n Bone Man, Two Door Cinema, Sister Sledge, The Boomtown Rats When: 21-22 September Where: Gibraltar Price: £80 for one day - £375 for two day VIP How to get there: 45 minute drive from Marbella Tickets: www.gibraltarcalling.com

TYGA’SBACK Us rapper Tyga is back in Marbella for what is bound to be another sell out performance at Mosaic Music Club on Friday May 11th. Tyga first came to Marbella in 2017 to perform at Teatro and was a true superstar. Having seen him perform live several times now he is definitely a crowd pleaser and despite being offered the VIP Room he mingled with the crowd and posed happily for pictures and autographs. Let’s hope this May’s visit to the new Estepona based super club Mosaic is as amazing for fans bagging a ticket this year.
FAME GAME
Tyga first shot to fame in 2011, after signing a record contract with Young Money Entertainment, Cash Money and Republic Records. His major label debut ‘Careless World: Rise of the Last King’ included the hit singles ‘Rack City’, ‘Faded’ featuring fellow Young Money’s Lil Wayne and ‘Far Away’ featuring Chris Richardson and ‘Still Got It’ featuring Drake. He released his next album ‘Hotel California’ in 2013 which included the singles ‘Dope’ featuring Rick Ross, ‘For The Road’ featuring Chris Brown and ‘Show You’ featuring Future.
42 MARBELLAROCKS | ISSUE 40
Tyga, now 28, has worked with the best of the best in the world of hip hop – the fact these world class artists (Drake, Lil Wayne & Chris Brown) are keen to work with the young prodigy is a true testament to his vocal and producing talents. Yes, he does produce his own
music and he does write his own lyrics. Go Tyga. His latest album Kyoto, launched in February this year, was received with mixed reviews. Some pundits hailed Tyga for coming up with more grown up material and less “weed smoking” & “bitch tapping” than previous albums!! While music website Pitchfork called it a “pleading, quasi-introspective R&B album that suffers from an almost total lack of imagination.” Ouch. Well you can’t please everyone. Tyga has also come under fire for the provocative album illustration, which was made by Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama, featuring a woman, who also appears to be a tiger, posing in a racy manner with her pants down and private parts exposed. While some fans accused the rapper of promoting fury porn, Tyga denies this saying, "I don't even know what that is. I love it, it's an art piece."
SO WHY TYGA?
Born Michael Ray Stevenson, Tyga’s mum used to call him Tiger as she thought her young son looked like the famous golfer Tiger Woods when he was growing up. Tyga changed the spelling to the more “street credible” version of Tyga when he started performing and writing music aged 13. Tyga grew up in the Californian district of Compton. While he has ascertained he grew up in a low socio-economic group and had a hard childhood, this was not really the case. The Stevenson’s were a fairly well to do family and owned a Range Rover. Roots aside, it has been suggested all rappers elude to hardships to promote their songs and careers. Who could forget 50 Cent’s ‘Get Rich or Die Tryin’ or Coolio’s ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’ – neither were from the ghetto!
IGGY OR ISN’T HE?
The most recent reports out of Palm Springs in the last few weeks indicate Tyga and Australian rapper Iggy Azalea are getting pretty close. Having been pictured out at Coachella three times during the week-long festival, including pictures of Iggy’s trainers next to his after a night out, things seem to be pointing to a blossoming young romance. The duo have remained tight lipped on the rumours with pals just saying they are “good friends” and “getting to know each other a bit better.” Watch this space. Tyga has been linked to a string of beautiful bevvies over the years. The most famous is the youngest of the Kardashian clan, Kylie Jenner, whom he dated for almost two years in 2015. The couple separated in April 2017 and Kylie has gone onto have baby girl Stormi with new boyfriend Travis Scott. However, not without much unwanted aggro from fans, who believed Tyga was the real father. Last month Tyga went ahead and put the final nail in the coffin of the fan conspiracy theory that he's the real father. "I’ve never said anything about someone else’s child or family insinuating my involvement; and will never do so," Tyga tweeted. "Please, stop spreading false stories and attacking people’s families. I have nothing to do with any of that. People should be able to live in peace." According to reports he has also done a paternity test to prove this too although none of this has been officially leaked to the press yet.

LIKE FATHER LIKE SON Tyga already has a son with previous girlfriend Blac Chyna and he is every inch the doting Dad as these adorable pictures show of him in matching outfits and poses with son King Cairo. Now King is 5-years-old, Tyga has expressed an interest in expanding his brood. Blac, King’s mother, has already moved on and had a baby girl called Dream with Rob Kardashian and he thinks it’s time too. “I’d love to have more kids,” Tyga said last year when interviewed. If things don’t work out with Iggy we doubt there would be a shortage of women wanting to be the millionaire rapper’s next baby mama. Join the queue ladies.

Marbella designers Caroline Azzi & Virginia Macari flew to Ibiza together with photographer Hattie Scanlan, make-up artist Sheena O’Brian, models Corina Chivu, Rachel Montague and The Bardou Salon, as a team put together by Ibiza Fashion Festival producer Karen Windle to create this fascinating editorial. Find out more about this shoot and being a stylist with this backstage interview with Caroline Azzi.

CAROLINE, HOW DOES IT FEEL TO STYLE FOR AN EDITORIAL?
It is always very exciting to get hired to style for an editorial. It is an adventure. You get to know new places, meet exciting people and stay in nice hotels. When you fly to another city, you have to make sure to bring the right items, you can’t forget anything and get ready for any circumstances and adapt to unexpected situations. There is a lot of pressure as you have to get it right.
HAS ANYTHING EVER GONE WRONG ON A SHOOT?
One day I did pack all the jewellery and my suitecase got lost. I did experience a lot of stress! Thank god the case was sent on the following flight and arrived to my hotel just on time before the shoot. Since then, I
always pack everything I need in my hand luggage and pray my suitcase with all my actual belongings turns up!
HOW DO YOU PREPARE THE JEWELLERY AND SELECT THE OUTFITS?
When you prepare a shoot you always have to start with a mood board. It is a very nice way to communicate visually your creative ideas to the other members of the team. Then I choose the style I want to set and design some exclusive pieces of jewellery especially for the shoot; outstanding necklaces, cuffs and rings. I have to combine to match perfectly together with the other designers clothes. In this case Virginia Macari’s bikinis.
TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR JEWELLERY DESIGNS? Every year I design a new collection and I am trying to be as innovative as possible. I love using metal pieces and chains that give an outstanding and impacting results. This year I came up with some very exclusive body chain I cross on the body and a line of exclusive metals cuffs.
TELL US MORE ABOUT THE IBIZA FASHION FESTIVAL:
Every Year the IBIZA FASHION FESTIVAL is held in June in very selected hotels in Ibiza (Wiki Woo & Es Vive this year) and offers spectacular fashion shows with outstanding designers, live DJ’s and music entertainment, UK celebrities assisting and a large coverage in both local and international press. I invite you to check more online: www.ibizafashionfestival.com and join us for our June 2018 IFF edition.
HOW DO YOU GET ON WITH VIRGINIA MACARI FOR THE STYLING?
Virginia and I have been working together on various editorials and photoshoot campaigns for magazines in the past 2 years, styling celebrities for Closer Magazine, OK Magazine and the UK newspaper Daily Mail. I think our designs and style match beautifully. Virginia’s bikinis are highly sophisticated and elegant and my jewellery designs add an extra touch of glamour, shine and uniqueness to her outfits. It is always a pleasure to work on a project with her! She is an amazing designer!
HOW IS IT TO SPEND A DAY SHOOTING ON A LUXURY YACHT?
Every single member of the team is important, make-up, hairdresser, photographers, models and stylists. The boat is incredible scenery for a shoot! It offers large possibilities of background for the photos. The photographers and models have to play with natural elements such as wind, water and light. Everyone has to coordinate their style and ideas. To tell you the truth, this shoot has been an amazing experience. The team members were young professional women and all highly experienced so the whole shoot has been smoothly flowing, organised and very creative. This is when you can tell it has been an excellent team work and that the shoot is going to be a success.

REEBOK HYBRID #GETMOVING
M Rafael, or Rafa as he is known, is owner and head trainer of the new super gym in San Pedro, Reebok Hybrid. He brings a wealth of experience and training to the Costa Del Sol having trained in the top sporting/fitness facilities in the Nordics and Spain, boasting the following qualifications: 3 years sports and nutrition science graduate
y first encounter with training took place in the school gymnastics hall. I went on to do flips, front lever, handstands, climb a rope, olympic rings, burpees, squat jumps, yes really CROSSFIT, at the time, it was, however, only called school gymnastics! It is all our primary movements and we were ALL created to do them. However, during the whole of evolution, they have been vital for our survival...

My passion in life is to get back the movement in our lives...one man or woman at a time. Unfortunately, at 25 years of age, I had a difficult period in my life that resulted in a weight increase from 80 kg - 107 kg. So one day I just realised how I am living my life and treating my body and that was not me. And in one moment in front of the mirror I decided that I was going to make a change. I decided to test myself to find out if I am being governed by my desires or am I the master of my own thoughts and actions.
76 MARBELLAROCKS | ISSUE 40
So I went down to a gym, signed up and started training the same day. I didn’t know much about nutrition so I just took the logical solution if I am hungry that must mean I am going to lose weight so I just cut the portions to the minimal. I ate four times a day and was as hungry after the meal as I was before when I was overeating. I trained 2-3 hours every day and 5 months later I was 20 kg lighter. With every time I didn’t give in to the hunger I felt like I was winning a war with my bad side and that feeling was amazing. By far the most important thing I have accomplished in my life is taking me through this journey and creating a version of myself I'm finally happy with. C/ LOS LIRIOS 10 D - NUEVA ANDALUCIA PUERTO BANUS
STACEY JAMES INTERVIEW British and Irish born DJ/Producer, Stacey James hails from North Walls, Stafford. He is currently supported by Safir Muzik, Ne5, Cr2 & Asane Records and will be resident DJ at Marbella’s number one nightclub Mirage this Summer 2018. Stacey has been fortunate enough to have performed at some of the most prestigious venues throughout Spain, Morocco, Ibiza and the UK. He has also performed alongside the most influential artists in the music industry today including 50 Cent and Chris Brown gaining both musical knowledge and experience and continues to do so even now, but never forgetting where he came from...
What is the Stacey James brand all about? The Stacey James is all about bringing value to the music industry.
You are known for versatility, why is that? Well I have always worked 7 days a week for the last 15 years in nearly all the clubs in Marbella, so it was 50 Cent say on the Monday; Chris Brown, Colin Francis, Scott Strutton, Max Denham, Sammy Porter on the Tuesday then Rudimental on the Wednesday; EZ on the Thursday; then Sam Divine, on the Friday. Saturday was Wally Lopez, Brandon Block, Alex P, Paris & Lloyd, Nick Hussey, Second City, Seff, Miguel Campbell, Clean Bandit and Sunday was Kinky Malinki with all the deep house major artists like Lee Gardener, Krul Intentions, Micky Crist, Sarah LP to name a few, and also all the DJ’s I have shared booths with over the years at events like Ministry Of Sound, Love Juice, Hed Kandi so the pressure and responsibility to smash every event, every day in every single genre for over 15 years has made me the open format DJ I am today. But spending 9 months in Ibiza DJing and raving I fell in love with house music, so that’s my main focus now with my DJ sets and productions.
So you’re back in Marbella with Charlie, Phil, Igor and the Ultima Promotions Team Yes I am and I am totally buzzing!! I have realised it’s not about where you work, it’s about who you work with and it’s not about what you are getting it is about who you are becoming. Being an ex-paratrooper I know it’s all about teamwork and the troops on the ground like the Ultima Promotions work so hard and professionally promoting their events, always on point, always bringing value to the music industry and always delivering an “Ultima” customer experience. And because of the Ultima Promotions family being who they are, they have been able to push the boundaries and achieve greatness in all that they do. So I’m looking forward to seeing my friends and getting back to work with such great professionals.
What has being a DJ in Ibiza taught you? I had to go to Ibiza to learn about the music industry - I felt that it was the vital part that was missing. I performed 40 gigs at Nikki Beach Ibiza and I also worked for Capadi Rebals which promoted every major club and event on the island. My homework was to go to Viva Warriors at Sankeys on the Sunday watch Steve Lawler and all the DJ’s and check out the club to promote the whole experience the following day. Same with Musicon, Elrow, Ants, Cream, Cocoon and for all the other major events. What a job!! I’m excited to apply my knowledge and experience from Ibiza to Mirage.
What is the best thing about being an independent artist nowadays? Great question, I get asked this a lot. We live in a world where being an independent artist is a real thing, there is no real need for managers or big labels anymore, no need to play shitty gigs just to pay the rent, no need to play commercial music just to get gigs or DJ under another name. You can promote and leverage your brand and label through online music platforms and social media ie Beatport, Soundcloud, iTunes, Spotify, and promote everything through Facebook ads and You Tube.
Who have you haD the opportunity to work with in the industry? I have been supported by Safir Muzik, Ne5, Cr2 & Asane Records. Pump It Up - was his latest track to be released on the Cr2 Records All Stars 2018 Miami Compilation feat - CamelPhat, Patrick Topping, Kaskade, illyus & Barrientos, Moon Boots, Jasper James & many many more. Looking forward to spinning and creating more tunes with the best of the best in the dance music scene. Watch this space!

ROCKS ASTROLOGY FORECAST Aries
Gemini
Leo
21 MAR – 20 APR
22 MAY – 21 JUNE
A cycle of radical soul shifting change begins this month. This may be totally different to anything you’ve previously experienced. These changes may occur on an inner/spiritual level but they will have a fundamental impact on your outer world. Your beliefs and perspective may change and how you view reality and those big questions around life, the universe and everything is likely to alter. This can best be described as a cycle of awakening where you may feel you’ve been walking through your life with blinkers on – only to have them suddenly removed. You are about to see your world and the people in it in a totally new way. Expect flashes of insight now and if you receive them, follow up. This especially applies to anyone or anything you feel isn’t quite as it appears. Secrets are about to be revealed to you. Some of these relate to you, your life path or purpose. Others could be around secrets that are being kept from you. Expect the truth to set you free.
24 JULY – 23 AUG
Time to take a radically different approach to your money, possessions and above all, what you truly value. You’ve shown the world how versatile you can be when it comes to you and all you have to offer. May marks the start of a process where you start to interact with the material world in a totally different way. It begins with you deciding what you will and what you won’t, sell out for. The value system you have in place could be set for a radical overhaul as you get clear about what really matters. And it will affect everything from your bank account to your relationships. Yes you are living in a material world but it’s about so much more than this. Time to determine the price – and the cost, of everything you earn, work for, trade and own. What’s your rate of exchange? And watch your stock soar as a result of making that right call.
Taurus
Cancer
Virgo
21 APR – 20 MAY
22 JUNE – 23 JULY
24 AUG – SEPT 3
What’s turned into a burden or shackles you, Taurus? There’s a classic song by the late, great John Denver Chained to the Wheel that sums this up. Often we end up chained to something without even realising it. It can be anything from that job to that relationship that no longer works. And maybe deep down we know that but breaking those chains often seems too scary or daunting. So we stay put. You’re starting a powerful cycle designed to break you free from whatever has got you hooked up to that situation you feel unable to escape this month. Get ready to be broken free whether by your own actions (recommended) or by outside events conspiring to bring things to a sudden, surprising conclusion (necessary for your evolution). One way or another, you’ll break free to forge a new path. An electrifying, heart-starting cycle awaits. Feel the thunder as you’re unchained.
Friends, groups, associations, contacts, networks – not just online but those you interact with face to face – are part of an important cycle involving you and others that begin this month. Above all this is going to be about YOU and how you relate to others around you. It’s time to totally and utterly embrace who you are – with no apologies needed. Expect your social life to undertake a radical shift. There are new people entering your life who are destined to alter your outlook or even your life path in some way. It’s time to accept all invitations that come your way and to let go of any preconceptions around ‘It’s not my scene’. You, and what you consider your ‘scene’ are about to have a radical change. It’s time to find your people if your social life has got stuck in a rut lately. New faces are about to appear that will propel you out of it. Be seen at an entirely new scene now.
Prepare for surprises which could literally change the direction your life is headed in over the next few years, Virgo. If you have been thinking of travelling to somewhere exotic, unusual or off-the-beaten track in some way, then now is the time to plan that journey. The same goes for studying anything that expands your horizons or gives you a fresh perspective. Unusual people – especially those from overseas or with foreign connections, could have a major role to play in all this. Don’t stand in the way of change as chances are any changes that occur are sent to make your life easier. You will be seeking more autonomy and more independence now in all areas of your life. While it’s not a good idea to rebel against things just for the sake of it, take a close look at what restricts you now. Is it self-created? Time to break free and by that, this could mean a lucky break which releases you into something so much bigger – and better.
118 MARBELLAROCKS | ISSUE 40
Time to express yourself, Leo. And by that I mean express who you really are through what you do. If you are in the wrong career, you are now stepping into a cycle where you will be able to find your true calling. However, don’t tell your present boss where to park their job unless you already have another offer on the table. And be aware that sometimes the universe can step in and liberate us if we wait too long – simply by bringing the situation to a close anyway. It’s time to originate and innovate now. To showcase those ideas and talents only you can offer. See yourself as an entrepreneur even if you work (or intend to work) for someone else. There’s something you and only you can bring to the table. May is the month to determine exactly what that is. If you know what is it you want to do, but are not already doing it, align yourself with those who are. New ventures and career progression is possible. Especially if you are prepared to take a radical new approach. Get yourself noticed now in all the right ways.

24 SEPT – 23 OCT
23 NOV – 21 DEC
21 JAN – 19 FEB
After seven years of focus on your opposite number – partners past, present and potential or even that person who opposes you literally as in an enemy, expect a shift to something more independent in nature. Expect an awakening on a deep level that leads to a personal transformation. What you truly need, what is missing, what needs to change – all of this is revealed or thrown into sharp perspective. Like a lightning strike or bolt from the blue, you can step into your personal power or a cycle of deep change that unshackles you from whatever is holding you back. New people, new opportunities and beneficial changes are set to replace anything negative. One special person could arrive to show you exactly what has been missing from your life! Big benefits could come your way just from you adapting a flexible approach and letting go of what no longer works now.
Events are going to conspire to wake up your daily routine or way of working – for the better now, Sag. That deadend job? If you don’t take steps to shake things up expect yourself to be shaken free of it in ways you don’t expect. The same goes for anything connected to your routine, daily responsibilities or even your wellbeing. May could see what’s got you shackled or chained to the mundane falling away leaving you free to explore brand new and exciting possibilities. Time to innovate when it comes to your diet, health or exercise regime and take radical steps if necessary when it comes to anything that has you stuck – be it that excess weight or that same-old, same-old job you are tired of. There’s something that’s going to un-stick you one way or another. Even free-spirits can fall into a rut unawares. Get out of yours this May.
Get ready for a radical shift. Putting down or pulling up roots or redefining what family or home mean to you opens doors to new lifestyle possibilities, Aquarius. It’s all about living in a way that works for you and those you love – and on your terms for that matter. Changing rooms, seachanges, tree-changes, creating your own support network, family matters and what you need to feel you ‘belong’ is all up for grabs now. Be prepared for a radical lifestyle change and an awakening to where you truly belong. Some of you may have a move forced on you and if this is not your choice, understand there’s a purpose behind it. And that is to ensure you end up where you are supposed to be. And living in a way that supports you from the inside out. Your surroundings may change but there’s no place like the home you can create now.
SCORPIO
Capricorn
Pisces
24 OCT – 22 NOV
22 DEC – 20 JAN
20 FEB – 20 MAR
What or who is it that you truly need when it comes to love or just relating, Scorpio? You are about to enter a cycle where your opposite number past, present or potential, features. Your needs when it comes to relating, are about to undergo a revolution. This all comes about by understanding yourself so much better. Reinvent what you believe love to be. And don’t forget this includes all kinds of partnerships – including business and collaborative ones, as well as the opposite. In other words, that person who is up in your face. But all of this adds up to you awakening to what you really need from love. If you’re single or suddenly find yourself this way, let go of what you think your ‘type’ may be. That’s about to change too. Treat love as a grand experiment and get ready for huge breakthroughs.
Children, young people, pleasure and passion. Of course, we can say pleasure and passion are usually part and parcel of creating children. If not your own children, then expect those younger than you to feature prominently over the next few years. What do you have to hand down or pass on to them? This can be anything from knowledge to just your outlook on life. Single sea-goats may discover that age features in unusual ways when it comes to romance too with a big age gap one way or another between the two of you. You’ve entered a cycle of innovation and creativity where you will be inspired to make your mark – or leave it as a legacy to others. The more inspired or ‘out there’ your ideas are the better now. In fact, anything from love to inspiration can strike like a bolt from the blue. Expect the unexpected this May.
What you say and how you say it may just spark a personal revolution for you now, Pisces. Expect to be hit by radical new ideas you can apply to study, work, business or communicating. The internet may be your medium of choice and if you’ve been sitting on anything from a blog to an ecommerce idea, May could see you taking the next steps towards making it happen. Others could benefit from a ‘lucky’ break when it comes to work or a personal project. Changes to your neighbourhood, your immediate surroundings or even your commute may initially look off-putting but my advice is don’t be. They could bring unexpected opportunities. Above all, May is the start of a cycle where not getting too attached to any plans and being willing to chance them if necessary puts you in full flow towards positive change. Just go with it.

THIS MONTH WE CAUGHT UP WITH TERRY ‘TURBO’ STONE, AUTHOR OF THE NEW, BESTSELLING BOOK ‘KING OF CLUBS’ - AN AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL TALE OF HOW TERRY SET UP THE BIGGEST DANCE MUSIC EMPIRE RUNNING ONE NATION, DREAMSCAPE, RAVE NATION AND GARAGE NATION – THRILLING 25,000 CLUBBERS EVERY WEEK. THE BOOK IS A THOROUGHLY ENJOYABLE READ DETAILING HIS HEDONISTIC WORLD WHERE SEX, DRUGS AND VIOLENCE BECAME PART OF HIS EVERYDAY LIFE. It’s been my mantra since I was 13. WORST HABIT? My worst habit is rushing into things when I get excited.
TERRY ‘TURBO’ STONE SO TERRY – WHAT’S BEEN THE REACTION TO YOUR BOOK RELEASE? It’s been fantastic considering the fact that I got the lowest grade possible in my English exam at school and the first book that I sat down and wrote has become an Amazon best seller in three different sections. YOU SPILL THE BEANS ON A FEW CELEBRITIES ANTICS IN THE BOOK – HAVE YOU HAD ANYONE PULL YOU UP ON IT YET? Not yet, which I think is mainly because I didn't fully spill the beans it was only a scratching of the surface. There were a lot of things that weren't in the book!! Ha ha. WHAT WAS THE BEST PART OF RUNNING YOUR CLUBBING EMPIRE? The best thing for me would have been selling out a large scale venue and being able to sit back and see thousands of people having the time of their life and thinking wow I created this, how did that happen? WHAT WAS THE WORST? The aggravation, as whenever you attract large crowds in a big city, mix in some dance music, money, drugs and you can't not attract trouble. YOU HAVE GOT YOURSELF IN A FEW ‘STICKY’ SITUATIONS OVER THE YEARS, WHAT WAS THE FUNNIEST OR WORST IN YOUR OPINION? I think the funniest times were always when you went out just for one drink or a quiet one and you ended up being kidnapped by your mates and ended up coming home 4 days later. The worst times for me was having guns pulled on me outside clubs. At the back end of the 90's the gun crime escalated in London

(it was never widely reported as it is today as there was no social media back then - so it could easily be brushed under the carpet by the authorities.) This was when I started thinking I may have a change of career! AND DOES IT HAVE A RELEASE DATE YET? November/December 2018 I will announce this on my social media channels when the exact date and UK premiere are confirmed. AND WHAT PLANS HAVE YOU GOT FOR THE FUTURE? I have recently filmed ‘Once Upon a Time in London’ which is the story between ‘Peaky Blinders’ and ‘The Krays’ and I play my first leading role as Jack "Spot" Comer alongside an outstanding British cast with the likes of Holly Earl, Dominic Keating, Leo Gregory, Geoff Bell and Roland Manookian. This film is being released in UK cinemas later this year. I'm also producing a big budget film about The Shah of Iran entitled ‘King of Kings’ and a film about The Beatles called ‘The Longest Cocktail Party’ so 2018 is going to be a very busy year. WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT? My greatest achievement to date was creating these huge dance music brands that are still going 25 years strong!! I will top this though in the film world so watch this space....! WHAT IS YOUR BEST CHARACTER TRAIT? My best character trait is being tenacious. BEST ADVICE YOU’VE EVER BEEN GIVEN? Winners never quit and quitters never win!
WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE GROWING UP? A boxing manager. WHAT ACTOR WOULD PLAY YOU IN THE MOVIE VERSION OF YOUR LIFE? Jack O'Connell would be a great shout. MOST EMBARRASSING ITEM IN YOUR WARDROBE? I'd say a gold shirt, I know I know! WHAT ALL OUR FEMALE READERS WANT TO KNOW – ARE YOU SINGLE? I'm married with several amazing children. WHAT DO YOU LOOK FOR IN A GIRL? In a girl I would look for honesty, reliability, a great sense of humour and intelligence. If she was drop dead gorgeous as well then great but I would put those four things first as looks don't last forever, we all get old and wrinkly eventually! IF YOU COULD ONLY TAKE 3 THINGS TO A DESERT ISLAND WHAT WOULD THEY BE AND WHY? My iPhone so I could stay connected to my friends, family and the world. A pen so I could make notes and a notepad so I could keep a diary. WHAT DO YOU DO TO RELAX? To relax I like going to the gym, spending time with my family, holidays, nice dinners and wine, spending time with real friends who you can be yourself with. IF SOMEONE ASKED TO BE YOUR APPRENTICE AND LEARN ALL THAT YOU KNOW, WHAT WOULD YOU TEACH THEM? I would tell them they have to give 100% each and every day no matter what it is that they do, even if it’s picking up litter! They also need to be prepared to work 7 days a week and they also need to never give up no matter what the world throws at them. The final thing and I think the most important thing is to believe in yourself 100% because if you don't no one else will!! ‘King of Clubs’ is now available on Amazon and iTunes.
