A Império da Tijuca desfi la a história de Evandro dos Santos, o Homem Livro. Figura que, incentivada pelo gosto de ler, começou a catar livros na rua, como doação e nos lixos. Depois de alguns anos, ele acumulou mais de 50 mil livros e fundou a biblioteca Tobias Barreto, em Vila da Penha – Zona Norte do Rio de Janeiro.

Império da Tijuca tells the story of Evandro dos Santos, the Book Man. A fi gure who, encouraged by the taste for reading, began to collect books from the streets and from garbage cans. In a few years, he accumulated more than 50 thousand books and founded the Tobias Barreto library, in Vila da Penha - North Zone of Rio de Janeiro.
