Emergency items you need
Answer the following questions to find out how ready you are. 1.
Non-perishable food for 3 days or longer

Water (3 litres per day per person / 150mls per kg for animals) (don’t forget sources like your hot water cylinder)

Additional water for washing / cooking
4.
Torch with spare batteries or dynamo / solar torch
5.
Battery radio with spare batteries (a car radio counts)
6.
Can opener (hand operated)
7.
Emergency toilet (bucket/ paper/ rubbish bags)
8.
Basic First Aid Kit / Essential medicines
9.
Blankets, duvets, sleeping bags
10.
Wind and waterproof clothing. Strong outdoor shoes
11.
Hat for sun face/ dust masks (you can use a damp tea towel as a dust mask)
12.
Camping stove or gas BBQ (or access to one)
13.
Baby’s formula and small children’s, food and drinks (if appropriate)
14.
Pet supplies (if appropriate)
