SPRING ARRIVES EARLY – AND SUDDENLY The green shoots of spring appear earlier on Ærø than on the mainland. The island awakes with a start from its winter hibernation in the early months of spring, and the bushes and trees burst into bloom in a veritable symphony of colour. Every year, the rapeseed fields add their dash of bright yellow colour to large parts of the island, while poppies open up in big and small clusters in the fields and roadside culverts. Make sure to stop and enjoy the colours, the scents and the warm winds, because the blossoming time is as short and intense as it is beautiful. Shops, cafés and restaurants that were closed in the winter open for the new season, the birds twitter in the trees and the queues at the ice cream stalls are still manageable. Spring on Ærø is almost synonymous with weekend breaks and Easter holidays. To find out more, see visitaeroe.com/spring.
SUMMER HOLIDAYS ON ÆRØ CREATE MEMORIES TO LAST A LIFETIME The beaches ring with laughter and joy and the water can sometimes look as emerald green as on a postcard from Hawaii. The atmosphere is relaxed and even with the large number of summer guests, you can always find a quiet spot to lay back and relax. We’re not sure if it’s the children’s crab races and the long days on the beach that do it. Or perhaps the local summer festivals, the charming pedestrian streets and the summer concerts. It could also be the sunsets, the peace, quiet and to ge therness, or the evening strolls through the Ærø countryside. What we do know is that summer holidays on Ærø create memories that last a lifetime and cry out to be repeated. For additional information, see: visitaeroe.com/summer.
