LACE UP YOUR BOOTS ENJOY THE ÆRØ COUNTRYSIDE
FIELDS IN NEVRE Many people are convinced that the biggest attraction on Ærø is the countryside itself. The combination of the gentle coastline towards the South Funen Archipelago and more rugged stretches of coast facing the Baltic Sea make the countryside of Ærø quite special – and a bracing walk is the perfect way to exper ience it all. Ærø is blessed with a wonderful network of hiking paths. For example, you can walk the section of the Archipelago Trail that starts in Søby and ends in Faldsled
on South-west Funen. Ærø boasts fully 36 magnificent kilometres of this nature hike. Alternatively, you can walk along the south side of Ærø, following the Kyststien trail – a 30 km route that largely follows cycle route no. 91. For a real challenge, take on our Round Ærø trail, a 64 km route that takes you all the way around the island, as close to the coast as you can come. For details of other, shorter, routes and other information, see visitaeroe.com/hiking. At various locations on the island, you can pick up detai-
