Foo Fighters
Four-time Grammy winners, Foo Fighters, have dropped their highly-anticipated eighth studio album Sonic Highways. To commemorate their 20th anniversary, the band also released an eightpart television series documenting the making of the release, which premiered October 17 on HBO.

Dave Grohl is famously known for being the drummer of the legendary grunge-rock band, Nirvana. During this time, Grohl wrote and recorded his own songs as a side project. In ‘94, after Cobain was found dead, he decided to create his own band. The band started as a one-man project and eventually led to the formation of the full group. Sonic Highways is eight songs, all recorded in different locations in the U.S., from Austin to Seattle. Each song reflects the location in which it was recorded. The album also features guest stars on tracks. The first track, “Something from Nothing”, was

Brad NickPaisley Jonas Album: Nick Jonas
By Kate Williams Soft piano, violins, and Rice’s silky voice all come together in what is best called a lullaby album, Rice’s My Favourite Faded Fantasy. Rice’s intimate ballad, “It Takes A Lot to Know a Man”, tilts more towards melancholy, and that’s par for the course on Fantasy’s predominately somber theme. In “The Greatest Bastard”, he interrogates his lover about lessons the two learned via a relationship that’s taken a sorrowful turn through indifference. Ironically, Rice’s gentle melodies bring a kind of warmth to the coldness of heartbreak. No song on Fantasy would be considered upbeat or joyous; instead, Rice addresses the imperfections and unfair components of Eros’ plague on humanity. Fans of Ed Sheeran’s album + will find similarities in the two artists lyrically, and Fink lovers will be comforted by the record’s pace. Rice’s career as been about as slow and steady as his music, and it took him a full eight years to release this album.
The fifth track, “Outside”, was recorded in California and features Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh. It seems that the song is inspired by ‘90’s alt rock with a touch of laid-back Cali from Walsh. The song begins with a thunderous guitar riff while Grohl sings about something cryptically being “out there.” “Outside” slows down and a drum/guitar interlude begins, gaining momentum as the song crescendos. Highways was an ambitious project, and Foo Fighters don’t disappoint. The albums was released on November 10 and is available on iTunes, Amazon, and on foofighters.com.

Breaking free of his family ties, Nick Jonas released a new self-titled album. The release is exactly what you’d expect from a member of a boy band; the beats are poppy, the lyrics suggestive. The entire album is about Nick’s relationship with a girl. Consequently, it’s about as deep as an inflatable pool. You can bet the radio will be overplaying tracks for the next month, so good luck trying to escape it. Teenage girls will, of course, eat it up. Songs like “Jealous” and “Avalanche”, featuring Demi Lovato, are teen-girl fodder. The kid can sing, but it’s disappointing the album is completely engineered for maximum catchiness (read: cheap, predictable, forgettable). He sells out his soulful voice to trending electronic pop, and in songs such as “Numb”, the tendency to “fit in” to the current trend is over the top. Even so, the Jonas brother is still climbing his way up the charts as the entire teeny, female population downloads (drools) over his self-professed sensitivity.

recorded in Chicago and features Rick Nielsen from Cheap Trick. The song starts off slow with steady guitar strumming accompanied by Grohl’s charged lyrics, “It started with a spark/And burned into the dark.” Halfway through the tune, it gets a little jazzier and Grohl belts out “No, you can’t make me change my name/You’ll never make me change my name.”
Miss Bank$, aka rapper Azealia Banks, has finally released her debut album, Broke with Expensive Taste. Banks is a singer/songwriter from Harlem, New York. She attended LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts but dropped out to focus on her music career. Broke showcases Banks’ explicit rapping skills, which have made her famous as of late. Theophilius London, Lazy Jay and Ariel Pink are all featured on her album. Listening to the album it seems that Banks was given total creative freedom. The tracks are mostly dance pop and bubbly; some songs are infused with trumpets and even salsa music interludes, definitely a non-traditional hip-hop album. But somehow it works, and it’s actually very good. The first track is titled “Idle Delilah”, a song with xylophone beats that gives it a tropical feel paired with Banks urban delivery.
Kevin Hart @ Rudder Auditorium
The star and creator of Real Husbands of Hollywood, a reality show parody now in its third season on BET, is coming to Aggieland. Kevin Hart, best known for his comedic roles in Ride Along and Think Like a Man, is a North Philly native who got his start in amateur stand up competitions in New England. His first real break was in 2000, when Judd Apatow discovered him and cast him on the TV series Undeclared. Hart is social media/tech savvy, and the thrust of his career was generated from people viewing bits of his stand up routines on YouTube. He is now regarded as an A-list actor/ comedian, slated for a number of roles in top-billed films over the next few years. He's currently on a 15-campus tour in support of a new routine, “What Now”, and his next film, Top Five, is directed by Chris Rock and will hit theaters in December. At a recent screening in Eugene, Oregon for his upcoming film The Wedding Ringer, Hart talked to the media about his college campus tour and the value of doing things differently, reaching fans in locations often off the grid for celebrities plugging their work. “This is my generation,” Hart told the press in Eugene. “When you look at college kids, these are the people who are driving the box office business. So I feel it’s my job to go out and personally reach you.” One fan in attendance was shocked he was in town, a sentiment many Aggies will feel when the comedian finally walks onto Rudder's stage on the 23rd. “Of all places, Eugene, Oregon. Really?” she said. “I would have thought if he was coming (to Oregon), he’d do Portland. But I’m so happy he did.” His performance at Rudder Auditorium on Nov. 23 is presented by MSC Town Hall and the MSC Carter G. Woodson Black Awareness Committee. The event is completely sold out, and tickets were limited to current students, a decision Town Hall advisor Dave Salmon made to the chagrin of many in the region—especially former students, faculty, and residents, all of which are unable to attend. Because the event is partially funded by student fees, and because the venue was limited to Rudder Auditorium's capacity (Reed Arena was booked before negotiations were made with Hart's management), Salmon decided to limit the audience to those largely responsible for funding Hart's stop in Aggieland.

Cody Canada @ Grand Stafford By Eunice De Luna
Cody Canada and The Departed are performing at Grand Stafford Theater, Saturday, November 22. Canada is known for his fusion of red dirt and Texas country. He was born in Pampa, Texas where after attending a George Strait concert he fell in love with music. At the age of 8, he started playing guitar. When he was a teen, his family relocated to Yukon, Oklahoma where he became intrigued by outlaw country and rock n’ roll. In ‘94, Canada and his friends, Grady Cross, Randy Ragsdale, and Jeremy Plato formed Cross Canadian Ragweed. The red dirt country rock band was named after the founding members. The band released their first album, Carney, in ‘98, Live and Loud in ‘99, and Highway 377 in ‘01. In 2010, after years of successful albums and tours, the band announced their last show in Joe’s Bar in Chicago. After they disbanded, Canada and Plato formed a new band called The Departed. The Departed released their first album in ‘11, This is Indian Land, which consisted of covers written by Oklahoma songwriters. In ‘12 they announced the release of their first original album, Advenus. The album was released on November of that year through the band’s own music label, Underground Sound. Folk Family Revival and The Docs are also scheduled to perform. Folk Family revival is a folk-blues-country group out of Magnolia, Texas who have opened for artists such as Willie Nelson, Uncle Lucius and Ray Wylie Hubbard. The Docs are a local band from College Station that cite their influences as Elvis, George Strait and Jimi Hendrix. Doors open at 8pm, tickets are $12 online at grandstaffordtheater.com and $14 at the door.

His last visit was for an acoustic set; this time, he’s bringing the full band. The Cody Bryan Band will open the show. Park has toured all over the U.S., some parts of Europe, and even Alaska, but Park says there’s nothing like playing in Texas. In an interview with Maroon Weekly, Park said “[Texas] is all I know at this point. It’s home. It’s where I’m from, and it’s the reason I’m able to do what I do.” From owning his own record label, to writing side by side with artists such as Josh Abbot and Cody Johnson, Park has made strides in the Texas country scene. When he released his first album, Big Time in 2005, his music spread like a wildfire throughout Texas, and with new album releases yearly, his sound has caught fire across the nation. Tickets can be purchased online (harrys.bcsclubs.com) and at Southern Jewlz, Cavendar’s, and Aggieland Outfitters on University.

K Camp and Rae Scremmurd @ The Lakeview Club
North Carolina rapper Kris Campbell, known in the industry as K Camp, is bringing his “New Atlanta” rap to the Lakeview Club on Saturday, November 22. Performing since high school, K Camp is no stranger to the stage. Staying true to his music icons--Andre 3000, Tupac Shakur, and Biggie—Camp’s known for his storytelling rhymes and his genre crossovers. His most recent album, In Due Time, features 2-Chainz and Kwony Ca$h. “Cut Her Off” reached #20 on the rap charts. He’ll be joined by Mississippi duo Rae Scremmurd (“Ray-Shrim-er”) made up of brothers Swae Lee and Slim Jimmy. Rae Scremmurd is best known for their song “No Flex Zone”, a track that quickly climbed the charts and is taking over dance clubs. The self-made duo was discovered by P-Nasty through a cousin, and the group recently signed to multi-platinum producer Mike WiLL, owner of Eardruma Records. General tickets will cost between $22-$40 and can be purchased at Discount Mart, KC Beauty Supply, Fattie’s Smokeshop, and Butlers Soulfood. The 18+ show starts at 9pm.

Crews Work to Pull Floating Zombies Out of Lake Michigan
Video Surfaces Claiming to Have Captured New Images of the Loch Ness Monster
CHICAGO – These zombies aren’t walking, they’re floating.
LOCH NESS, Scotland – A 58-year-old Scot has claimed to have captured new footage of the Loch Ness Monster.
After a haunted house barge named the Zombie Containment docked outside Navy Pier sank due to winds above 70 mph tearing through the city on Halloween, rescue crews in Chicago have been pulling rising dead zombies out of Lake Michigan left and right. WGN reports that around 50 prop zombies have risen to the surface since the barge’s sinking.
Richard Collins, who runs a tree planting company, said he spotted something strange in the loch as he was driving alongside the shore earlier this month. So he pulled over and started recording video and photos of the sight on his mobile phone, he said.
The owner of the barge, John LaFlamboy, estimated the investment to be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. “It’s an unbelievable amount of effort from painters to costume makers,” he said. “So to watch it sink was very heartbreaking for a lot of us.” In addition to the haunted house, officials closed other attractions, including the Ferris wheel, the Grand Ballroom and East End Plaza due to the rough weather dubbed a “Halloween Howler,” the “Chicago Tribune” reported.

Scientists Studying ‘Star Wars’- like Force to Cure Headaches and Epilepsy SWITZLERAND – Swiss scientists have claimed a breakthrough: a “dream” they have been chasing for a decade, and that’s thought control. Much like Luke Skywalker mastering The Force in “Star Wars,” the scientists have said they have developed a way to manipulate the mind. In their experiments, headsets recording brain activity altered thoughts to turn on an electronic chip that enabled a gene to release a protein in mice. They said different types of thoughts produced different amounts of protein, with subjects in a state of meditation producing the most. Professor Martin Fussenegger said these thought-controlled implants could help fight headache, back pain and epilepsy. More information on the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology’s findings can be found published in the journal “Nature Communications.”
As we learn more about what we’re consuming and how it affects our bodies, interest in clean living, healthy diets, and knowledge of what’s in our food have gained paramount importance. Nowadays, the amount of antibiotics in the meat we consume is a growing concern among many Americans, and Justin Fowler, a Ph.D. student, and Dr.Christopher Bailey, a poultry science professor and poultry nutrition specialist at A&M, are looking to find some answers. They’re working to find a way to improve the quality of chicken without having to reduce the quantity of both the chicken on our tables and the money in our wallets.
There are two main issues Dr. Bailey’s lab Lea has been concentrating on: the prevention of
aflatoxin absorption and the use of yeast as a prebiotic. Aflatoxins are formed by certain fungi and are a common contaminant of corn, which is used in many feeds for poultry animals. This forms an unfortunate predicament for researchers, producers, and consumers because these mycotoxins may cause liver damage and even cancer. In an attempt to prevent these dangers, Fowler has been experimenting with clay. Researchers in the Department of Soil and Crop Sciences have found that certain kinds of clay can bond with aflatoxin, which prevents the body from absorbing it. The lab is now conducting further research to see if chickens can benefit from this same process.
The footage, taken about 11 a.m. on Nov. 6, appears to show a neck sticking out of the water and staying up despite choppy waves. “I just think it’s an anomaly I can’t really explain,” he said. “I’m a bit of a doubter of a lot of things until I see it myself, and I wouldn’t have believed what I saw if someone else was telling me. “I’ve fished the loch, man and boy, and I haven’t ever seen anything like that.” His wife, 60-year-old Vibeke Collins, added “I couldn’t believe it and laughed when he showed me because I knew he could never set that up. He’s not very technical or not very computer wise either.”
On the positive side, prebiotics help promote the growth of good bacteria, and the lab has been working with one prebiotic in particular: yeast. One common disease industry chickens suffer from is necrotic enteritis, which can cause decreased ingestion, lesions, ulcers, and a bunch of other unsavory symptoms. According to Fowler, “feeding the yeast cell wall to the chickens with simulated necrotic enteritis is a way to show that it is capable of alleviating those symptoms.” Fowler and the rest of the lab are searching for ways to improve the feeding process, by either feeding “vitamins in a more precise manner, or find[ing] a more bioavailable source of a vitamin.”

JB & the Moonshine Band By Kate WIlliams
JB’s songwriting ability gives East Texas natives JB & the Moonshine Band a disarming charisma. The band has a way with a crowd, and the affect they have upon audiences is owed largely to a cohesion they share among one another. “When I was a teenager and saw Willie Nelson, I was awestruck,” JB says. “And I especially liked how his band is basically like his family. My band and I are friends, first and foremost, and secondarily, we play music together. I’ve been very fortunate to have such a good group of guys.” Their most recent album is titled Beer For Breakfast. JB is known for laying all of his cards on the table, and the Breakfast showcases his undeniable sincerity and grace as a truth-teller. “I have the responsibility to myself and to my fans to be myself on my records. That’s first and foremost to me. And that’s what’s brought us this far. I just have to always remain true to myself.” Witness the band’s raw East Texas country feel for yourself on Thursday at the Tap. Tickets are $10.

Crash Course on Moving By Cody Carlsen and Valeria Cenoz
It’s almost that time of the year again. You have the apartment, Ikea furniture, roommates (which you “love”….for now) all picked out. Now you have to actually get down to the nitty gritty and prepare for the chaotic, stressful, tiring, all-day-long event known as moving day. Luckily, we have some moving professionals on our staff that will help you avoid rookie mistakes. As loving and supportive as your granny and papa may be, they aren't ideal movers. Let them enjoy a day off from grandparent duty for the sake of your grandma’s vertebrae and for your sanity. Invite them to dinner afterwards. Might we add, crying babies, curious toddlers, and your hyperactive Chihuahua Sparkie should also be left at home. Moving is best when it's with less...diversions. Make sure your apartment is clean before you start moving things in. Imagine lifting a couch up three flights of stairs, only to find out the apartment looks like a tornado ripped through it. Sweeping, dusting, mopping, and disinfecting are a must. No one wants to start a new beginning in what could be mistaken for a pigsty. And sometimes apartment complexes don't always do a great job of preparing your new digs before you move in. Your friends are the real MVPs. Does anyone want to move boxes upon boxes all by themselves? No. Moving day can quickly become chaotic and painful (physically). Along with food and alcohol, give your friends who help you move first dibs on anything you originally planned to sell or donate. Do you really need that lava lamp? (No one does, really.) Give it to them. It'll make their day. Sandwich bags will quickly become your best friend. In the shuffle of moving in, it becomes quite easy to lose or misplace small gadgets, such as nails and screws used to hold your beloved 42” screen TV to the wall. This can all be avoided with a simple sandwich bag. Ladies, these can also be used to hold your never-ending supply of bobby pins, hair ties, or any other small necessities that must make the move-in. Shampoos, conditioners, and body washes should also be stored in zip-lock bags to avoid potential liquid messes along the way. We wouldn’t want you to ruin your game-day dress. Meet your neighbors. It’s always comforting to know you can count on your neighbors to help you with whatever problems you may run into throughout the year. Baking a cake and don’t have eggs? Ask your neighbor. Need a ride home from Northgate? Call your neighbor. Hear some strange noises? Call your neighbor. Building a relationship with your neighbor is not only good for safety reasons, but can also develop into a friendship that will leave lasting memories. Project X, anybody? Don’t get any ideas! With these tips, hopefully move-in day will be less of a headache. Get a good night’s sleep the night before, because it’s going to be a long, arduous day.

Ideal Roommates vs. Reality Roommates By Daniella Delgado & Connie Song
Everyone has the perfect image of what their ideal roommate is like. Everyone would get along, the house would always stay spotless, and there would be zero drama. But let’s be honest-- this is never the case. You most likely have the same crazy roommates as everyone else. Let’s take a short walk down memory lane and see if any of our past horror-ible roommates ring any bells. Here's what we learned from the experiences.... Clean vs. Messy Ideally, we all wish Cinderella was our roommate. Wouldn’t it be nice to go home to a tip-top place? Instead, what you get is someone who leaves their clothes all over the living room floor, stacks their week-old, dirty dishes in sink, and lets the trash overfill to a feast for flies. Being the neat freak that you are, living in this mess drives you completely insane. Wouldn’t you think the simple task of cleaning up after yourself would be easy enough to understand? Guess not. When you're “interviewing” potential roommates, ask them how frequently they do dishes, if they like a clean fridge (and actually would clean it), and whether they can remember trash day. You might also take a peak inside their car window (it's okay to be a creep sometimes), to see how clean it is (a mess in their ride usually means a mess in your pad). Independent vs. Clingy Everyone wants a roommate they can get along with, but also who has a life of their own. There are some who follow you around like a puppy dog. They want to have the same friends as you; they go everywhere you go; you even have the same classes or jobs. Everyone wants their own space, but how do you break this information to your clingy roommate? Easily. Tell them, in the most straightforward tone without condescending, that you just have to have your space. Tell them this when you first meet them, even before you know whether they are clingy or not. Then it becomes your choice whether you want to cling back. If you don't, then you already told them in the beginning, so no harm in maintaining your need for space. If you tell them to late...then you're the jerk (ugh). Stable vs. Emotional Train-wreck Everyone wants someone who has it all together. Someone who can balance school, friends, work, and extracurricular activities with ease. Some of us handle pressure a little better than others. But let’s face it: Your emotional train-wreck roommate isn’t one of us. You know what we're talking about. It’s the roommate that suddenly bursts into your room, crying about a big test, about how they don’t know what they’re doing with their lives, and how they're going to die alone with seven cats. Everyone needs time to learn the tricks of the zen trade. Life will hopefully lead them to peace; it's not your responsibility. If your door comes with a lock, don't be afraid to use it. It's your right; you are paying for it, after all.

DUMB WAYS TO DIE - BY CONNIE SONG The name of the game is essentially what the game is about: dumb ways to die. It may sound easy, but it actually isn’t. You have three lives, and there are a series of dumb tasks you have to complete before the time runs out. The tasks include putting mustard on a hot dog, connecting electrical wires, jumping the gap between a platform a train, and many more. Again, it sounds easy, right? No. It’s not. As you keep playing, the time limit gets shorter and the tasks get more complex. Dumb Ways to Die doesn’t have any educational COST: FREE benefits, and it’s probably a game you’d play when you’re trying to avoid paying attention to something. Hick St. Vincent
Netflix (R)
Luli (Chloë Grace Moretz, If I Stay) is a loner with a dead-beat dad and selfabsorbed mother. Her thirteenth birthday is hosted in a bar, and her gift is a Colt .45. Frustrated by her home-life, she sets out to Las Vegas for greener pastures. Hitchhiking her way to Sin City, she’s picked up by Eddie (Eddie Redmayne, The Theory of Everything). Things are hunky dory between the two until he tells her St. Vincent opens with Vincent (Bill Murray, Ghostbusters) being refused another drink from his regular what she’s wearing makes her look like a hooker; she insults his limp, causing him bar. He drives home drunk, parks (sort of), and destroys his fence – to which he just does not care – to pull over and threaten to hurt her. Luli gets out of his truck, and he drives away. and goes inside to make another drink. His inebriation leaves him wobbly and with poor aim, and he knocks himself out in the kitchen. The following day, Maggie (Melissa McCarthy, The Heat) and her son Glenda picks up Luli next. The pair make it to Glenda’s home, shared with her Oliver (Jaeden Lieberher, Playing it Cool) move next door. After the moving truck breaks a tree branch husband, Lloyd. Much to their surprise, Eddie is there. Luli later talks to Eddie, that falls on top of Vincent’s car, he comes outside to investigate. With a gnarly bruise on the entire apologizing for insulting him in his truck. She goes into town with him, but he right side of his face and a pitiful attitude to match, he accuses the movers of being illegal immigrants makes her stay in his truck while he plays pool. Tired of waiting, she interrupts his and demands that Maggie pay for his car, tree… and fence. Swell guy. game, causing him to lose right after he doubled his stakes.
Comedy (PG-13)
The next day, Maggie leaves for work at the hospital and Oliver heads to his new Catholic school. He arrives, meets teacher Brother Geraghty (Chris O’Dowd, 3, 2, 1 Frankie Go Boom), and is almost instantly picked on by the school bully. Maggie’s held at work because of a no-show, leaving her unable to pick up Oliver. He makes his way back home, taking a route that appears way too dangerous for an eleven-year-old. Spotting Vincent in his front yard, he asks to borrow his phone – thus beginning an extremely strange friendship between the pair.
After they leave, Eddie drives Luli to a motel, telling her that Glenda is there waiting for her, but Glenda is nowhere to be found. Frightened, Luli goes outside to make a phone call. Eddie finds out what she’s doing and forces her to leave. She yells at him and forces him to stop so she can get out of the car. He gets out and starts following her, chasing her into a cornfield. There’s no graphic image, but the audience understands that Luli is raped.
Vincent’s a guy who’s more than a little rough around the edges. Oliver’s a good kid, though-extremely scrawny and unable to protect himself from the bullies at school. Vincent teaches Oliver how to break a nose and together they bond over horse races, cats, and reliving fighting victories. Through Oliver, Vincent’s true character is able to shine through.
She’s able to get away from Eddie and Glenda (who end up shooting each other), whose own histories are too tangled to focus on anyone else. Luli gets the hell outta dodge and goes to the bus station and boards the next bus to Los Angeles.
OKAY, so Bill Murray killed it. Except I have a theory that there’s a 99% chance that Murray doesn’t really act – he’s just being himself. And this movie is totally about Bill Murray. Melissa McCarthy, Naomi Watts, and Chris O’Dowd are all supporting actors, but their characters fall flat in comparison. The screenplay isn’t extremely original, but the performances – especially by Jaeden Lieberher – were charming. This is a feel good film with several humorous moments and it reminds the audience that people are much more complex than what their first impressions (or four or five) might be.
This was a weird movie. Not like Wes Anderson weird, but weird. I grew up around hicks. Hicks do not look or sound like they do in this movie; they’re way too polished in Hick. Slapping on a poor southern accent doesn’t automatically make one a hick. Luli’s parents? Yeah, they’re hicks. Luli, Glenda, and Eddie? Not hicks. It’s based off the novel of the same name by Andrea Portes. Moretz is an up-and-coming actress, but this was not her strongest performance. Blake Lively is beautiful, but she overacts in everything, and Eddie Redmayne should be remembered for Les St. Vincent is 102 minutes and rated PG-13 for mature thematic material including sexual content, Miserables and the upcoming The Theory of Nothing. While it’s not the worst thing alcohol and tobacco use, and for language. in the world…it’s certainly not the best.

Aggie Basketball Looking to Become a National Contender Basketball The basketball team has shown slight improvement every year since Billy Kennedy took over, but everyone is ready for the Aggies to take the next step on the court. Kennedy has gained some national buzz recently as he signed the No. 2 recruiting class in the country. Unfortunately, the four signees won’t be here until Fall 2015. So what about this year’s team? A&M returns junior Alex Caruso, who is on the watch list for the Bob Cousy Award, presented annually to the top point guard in college basketball. Caruso led the SEC in total assists, assists per game, and total steals. He was third on the team in points per game. The Aggies also return their top two leading rebounders in senior center Kourtney Roberson (who adds a veteran defensive presence down low) and junior Antwan Space (who was in first year at A&M after transferring from Florida State). Space, along with Roberson, can be physical on the defensive side of the ball; but they need to add more offensively for A&M to have success. Other key returners for the Ags are Davonte Fitzgerald and Jordan Green, two guys with starting experience who will be key contributors off the bench. The newcomers are what could lift A&M into postseason play, rather that be the NIT Tournament or the NCAA Tournament. SMU transfer Jalen Jones, who averaged 14
in the country last year. Freshman guard Peyton Allen is also expected to contribute, and he played 28 minutes in a warm-up game against TAMU-Commerce two weeks ago. The much talked about big man, 6’10 Tonny TrochaMorelos, will also be expected to contribute and hopefully he will play significant minutes at the center spot. The Aggies will get tested early this season as they travel to play in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off and play Dayton this Thursday, then to face UConn or the College of Charleston on Friday. Women’s Swimming and Diving The Aggie women’s swimming and diving team is off to a fast start with a 4-0 record on the season, a number 9 ranking, and they just went to Austin and upset the #2 Texas Longhorns 169-131. points per g a m e and 7.7 rebounds per game for SMU two years ago, will take over at small forward and could very well be the leading scorer this season. He was ranked #2 by SI.com as the Top Scoring Transfer. Fourstar guard Alex Robinson will come in and immediately start at point guard for the Aggies, allowing Caruso to return to his more natural position at shooting guard. Robinson was ranked as the 10th best point guard recruit
A&M dominated the outing against the Longhorns, winning 11 of 16 swim events. Senior Sarah Henry finished first in the 500 and 1,000 freestyle events. Senior Sammie Bosma took first in the 50 and 100 free and served as the lead-off leg in the 400 free relay (which placed first and anchored the winning 200 medley relay). Freshmen Lisa Bratton and Beryl Gastaldello took the 200 backstroke and 100 butterfly, respectively. The #9 Aggies will host the annual Art Adamson Invitational this weekend.
