MASTER BUILDERS
Award win is the pinnacle of success
FOR more than 30 years, the Master Builders Housing & Construction Awards program has highlighted the movers and shakers in the industry. Those who stand out from the pack, whose craftsmanship, attention to details and innovation is second to none.
The high calibre of entries is compounded by increasing entries year on year across the state making the competition a tough one. The awards program is not a design showcase, rather a building competition and our judges are armed with a strict list of criteria that each entry must meet.
Originally known as the Housing Awards Competition, the first iteration of the awards was held in 1987 The next year, the awards were expanded to include both residential housing and commercial industrial fields. The event was rebranded as the Housing & Construction Awards.
The new program was run in conjunction with
the Housing and Construction Conference in 1988, which formed part of the iconic Brisbane’s Expo ’88 event program. Regional Queensland joined the party in 1993 when the awards were opened across the state at the first Master Builders Regional Housing & Construction Awards.
The state-wide ceremonies have grown from strength to strength over the years and Brisbane has blossomed from a small ceremony with just a handful of categories to 57 categories including construction, housing, trade contractor/speciality and individuals awards.
Now, as we continue to celebrate our industry more than 30 years on from those initial awards ceremonies, it is truly heart-warming to see original regional winners who are still active Master Builders’ members today

Breathtaking ocean views welcome guests
OPEN the front doors and be wowed.
Papillon II’s entry is a show stopper with the doors opening to reveal an amazing view of the beautiful water of the Whitsundays.
This stunning timber home was designed by the renowned architect, Chris Beckingham and built by Coastal Edge Constructions.
Jodie Ferdinand who owns Coastal Edge with husband, Ben, said they had a wonderful relationship with Mr Beckingham and worked with him on previous projects, including past winners at the Master Builders Awards in 2016 and 2018
This year their entry, Papillon II, won Individual Home over $2 million, Best Residential Swimming Pool and the major award of House of the Year at the Master Builders Housing & Construction Awards 2019
The 502sq m home consists of three bedrooms, two bathrooms, powder room, office, study and wine cellar
“All the doors and windows are custom-made from
New Guinea Rosewood here in the Whitsundays,” Mr Ferdinand said.
Mrs Ferdinand said the detail of the timber work in the home was outstanding and was a focal point of the home. Helping to encapsulate the coastal vibe of the Whitsundays.
“Timber is classic, timeless, it always looks beautiful,” she said.
The project was dedicated to getting the timber features perfect.
“Papillon II took 14 months to build because of the time consuming, detailed timber work throughout this beautiful home,” Mrs Ferdinand said.
The structural hardwood including bearers, joists, posts, struts and fascias were cut from locally sourced Spotted Gum, the eave lining is tongue and groove New Guinea Rosewood and the internal feature ceiling to the entry, living and dining is clear hoop pine to lighten up the whole room.

“When you arrive at the house, you view two beautiful custom-made solid timber doors which hide the view,” Mr Ferdinand said.
“Once the doors are open, you look out over the wet edge pool which seamlessly blends into the beautiful turquoise water of the Coral Sea.”
The flooring in the home has an international twist having been sourced from various countries.
“The main floor throughout the upper level is Kwila tongue and groove timber flooring. The ensuite and bathroom tiles are a dark, natural limestone tile sourced from Morocco. The downstairs bedrooms and hallway are tiled with stunning, timeless Elba Marble sourced from Europe, creating a very elegant feel,” Mr Ferdinand said.
The wine cellar located on the upper level is custom made from solid New Guinea Rosewood and is one of the stand-out features of the home.
“This cellar took over 350 man hours to build in the joinery workshop due to the size and fine detail from the architect,” Mr Ferdinand said.
“The door to the cellar looks the same as the other doors but has a concealed compressed foam panel inside to keep the airconditioned room at a certain temperature.”
The Ferdinands said it was wonderful win the House of the Year category for 2019
Mrs Ferdinand said they had formed a wonderful friendship with the owners.

The Whitehouse of Hamilton Island
PERCHED up on the eastern side of Hamilton Island looking out to the Edwards Islands and over beautiful Catseye Bay is a magnificent home, The Whitehouse.
The home recently won, Home Renovation/Remodelling Project over $1 million, for Coastal Edge Constructions.
A holiday home, The Whitehouse was constructed in the mid-80s, designed and owned by two architects.
It was extensively damaged during Cyclone Debbie, with a $1.9 million damage bill.
Ben and Jodie Ferdinand from Coastal Edge Constructions said the owner decided to carry out a major renovation and create a more modern home She described the project as massive, the home was water damaged and needed to be gutted.
The Whitehouse covers an area of nearly 900sq m with six bedrooms, six bathrooms, a one bedroom self-contained unit, two media rooms and a large sunken lounge area with an indoor bar where the surrounding outdoors can be appreciated by a huge 5m x 8m motorised, counter weight door opening up to an uninterrupted view of the islands
Mrs Ferdinand said after the renovations her favourite part of the home was the main entry with its connection with the ocean.
“The main entry to the house was reconstructed with a flat counter levered roof replacing the existing curved roof The rock wall either side of the entry was brought back to its original beauty with the refurbishment of the water feature which trickles down the rock face,” Mr Ferdinand said.
“Once you enter through the large, new aluminium pivot door you will view the newly created foyer with aluminium screening above to filter the light for the raised planters either side of the walkway and a refurbished water feature at each end. The new entry door system is a 16 metre stacking door which opens either way to bring the outdoors in.”
The entire property was re-plumbed and re-wired and the existing airconditioning system was removed and replaced.
Mr Ferdinand said the joinery in the home was remade using black, stained American oak throughout
“The kitchen and bar feature an off-form concrete island bench with the top being polished and sealed,” he said.
“We sourced specialised tilers from Melbourne who spent over a month on the island laying over 400sq m of ‘Luca’ Crazy Paving from Italy.”

HOME RENOVATION/REMODELLING PROJECT OVER $1 MILLION
World-class facility
Paynters take home the Project of the Year Award for the ARC
THE Mackay Aquatic and Recreation Complex has been awarded Project of the Year
Paynters won the tender to construct the sporting facility and its efforts were rewarded with a major award at the Master Builders Housing & Construction Awards.
The firm has a strong connection with the Mackay region with a locally based office and a presence in the region spanning 30 years. In that time the group has been involved in constructing various projects in the age care, education and sporting sectors.
Now they have produced what has been dubbed the “ARC”
The ARC is home to aIAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) Class 2 Athletics Facility consisting of a synthetic running track consisting of an eight lane x 400m track, nine lane 113m main sprint straight and eight lane 103m secondary sprint straight.
It also offers four long jump pits and two triple jump options, one water jump, a discus circle, a discus/hammer circle, two shot put circles, two high jump fans, two dual pole vaulting runways, two javelin runways, a 240sq m clubhouse with canteen, meeting rooms, amenities and storage and a rectangular multi-use playing field within the centre of the running track
The aquatic centre portion consisted of a FINA (Fédération internationale de natation) 50m, 10 lane outdoor competition pool with heating, one six lane 25m covered and heated multi-purpose pool, one 15m x 10m covered and heated learn to swim pool, a reception, cafe and office.
There is also an event control room and multipurpose space.
Kate Nissen from Paynters said they had received

fantastic feedback about the complex.
Mackay’s own international standard complex is a real boost for the people of the area.
“It’s not just a step up for the region but for the state,” she said.
“The 50m pool has received FINA accreditation. Throughout the construction process, from planning right through to completion, we received expert guidance from Swimming Australia in relation to meeting FINA’s criteria which included strict measurement tolerances for the pool.
“The athletics track has been constructed to standards equivalent to IAAF Class 2 Athletics Facility.”
She said the complex was also advocating for greater disabled facilities. All the aquatic facilities have been fitted with full disability access, including hoists into the pools.
The client requested the engagement of the Changing Places project. Changing Places advocates for public toilets with full sized change tables and hoists in major public spaces across Australia. There are currently only seven facilities registered across the state.
The original project was tendered as a design and construct contract and innovation was a key component of the Paynters approach, even before the tender was awarded.
“The bid team needed to not only price the project as defined but also investigate, scope, conceptually verify and price alternative solutions to establish a construction solution that met budget and project core deliverables,” she said.
Extensive survey control coupled with detailed inspection and test plans were required to achieve the workmanship and construction tolerances required by the FINA certified 50m Pool and IAAF Class 2 accredited running track.
“Both passed their first inspection as part of the certification process,” Ms Nissen said.
Paynters was also awarded the Best Community Accommodation for Aged Care and Nursing Homes for its Bowen based project, Murroona Gardens Aged Care by Master Builders.

Grabbing attention from the first glance
BRAD Kirkpatrick has been in the building industry since 1991 but this year marked 15 years since he established his own business.
The celebrations were capped off with three wins at the recent prestigious Master Builders Housing & Construction Awards 2019 with the Individual Home $251,000 $350,000 for the Ashford project, Individual Home $551,000 $650,000 for the Oakview project and the major award President's Award for Ashford.
Mr Kirkpatrick said the President’s Award was a great award to win and a nice surprise.
His favourite part of the Ashford was the exterior
“It just pops,” he said.
“It’s different from other homes and has a wow factor it looks different.”
The Hamptons style house stands out from the rest with its simple clean lines and soft, neutral colour pallet.
The 217sq m home has four bedrooms, two
bathrooms, a double lock-up garage, two living areas and an outdoor entertainment area.
Mr Kirkpatrick said the project was driven by a desire to provide an elegant and relaxed living environment.
The house has been designed with a practical open plan that flows effortlessly between areas.
It allows a small footprint to feel open and spacious to accommodate a growing family
He takes pride in the workmanship, right down to the smallest detail and quality finishes in the construction of the house including warm timber-look floors and patterned bathroom floors with white trim work.
These key features provide the house’s charming Hamptons flair
The home has been designed with the idea of no wasted space and to create the families’ ‘forever’ home that will last the test of time and accommodate the needs of a growing family for many years.

It was worth the wait for proud owners
THE project had been in the planning for many years, but the wait was worth it with Binnington Sands winning the Individual Home $951,000 $1.25 million category for Fergus Builders at the Master Builders Housing & Construction Awards.
Adam Wright from Fergus Builders said it was great to win the award
By working closely with Bold Architecture and the clients, Mr Wright said the Fergus team was able to achieve a stunning architecturally designed home in East Mackay
“The project took nine months to complete,” he said Mr Wright said the home was industrial and modern denoted in the distinctive features found throughout the house including the sleek island bench in the kitchen and the stone stack columns in the ensuite bathroom.
The crisp lines of large format porcelain tiles in the home help create a seamless concrete, industrial look throughout.
The architectural grand design offers both coastal and industrial finishes, attention to detail, quality fixtures and innovative technology
He said the owners wanted the front facade of the home to be as open plan as possible to capture the beach views and to be built with materials that were able to provide protection from the elements
These components included: James Hardie axtent trim cladding, scyon linea weatherboard, lysaght enseam profile sheeting, aluminium sunhoods and bifold powder-coated shutters
The grand entrance is enhanced with a stunning, sizeable wine cellar underneath the stairway to the top level.
The home includes polished masonry block walls to bring the outside in.
Mr Wright said the open plan was created by opening the front and back doors of the upper level which created an entertaining space with views of the ocean.
“The raked ceiling throughout the living area creates the open spacious feel which feeds onto both decks front and back, capturing the ocean breeze,” he said.
On the upper level, visitors are immediately drawn to the striking design of the kitchen The high-end stone and unusual angle of the waterfall ends are impressive features.
“All boundaries were exceeded to achieve this look and it is our clients most favourite part of the home,” Mr Wright said.
The master bedroom portrays a coastal feel with a bed head wall featuring ageing paint, stunning stacker stone throughout the ensuite and feature lighting
The 440sq m home also features a top of the line security system with Intercom touch panel, electric strike front door and a well-designed front feature block wall, to give privacy to the pool and outdoor shower, which provides both hot and cold water.

THIS creative and well planned Fergus Builders’ display home, the Ella, in Kerrisdale Estate Beaconsfield was the winner of the Display Home $351,000 $450,000 category at the Master Builders Housing & Construction Awards. The concept for the project was a very desirable
home plan suitable for a family or a second-time home owner
The display home features 2700mm high ceilings, 1200mm wide glass aluminium front door, feature timber-look cladding, full height alfresco stacker doors, a walk-in pantry, high-end stone benchtops, timber feature tiles, black designer plumbing fixtures, a free standing bath in the main bathroom and generous room sizes.
The finishes selected were chosen to give the home warmth and create a designer feel.
“We wanted to tick all the boxes with this design,” Nathan Borg from Fergus Builders said.
The display home was designed so clients could walk through the door and see instantly what they wanted. Mr Borg said the Ella was the result of looking at what people wanted and producing a design that met all of those wants and needs.
He said the design had been very popular.

Creating a calming and natural space
AS WELL as being a drawcard to the Shoal Point Waters estate, the lake and park area is an ecologically sustainable area.
Vassallo Constructions was awarded the Excellence in Energy Efficiency and Environmental Management Award at the Master Builders Housing & Construction Awards for its work at Shoal Point Waters.
Damian Vassallo, operations manager at Vassallo Constructions, said it was great to be awarded the title.
“The Shoal Point Waters development is the culmination of many years of hard work and planning for both Vassallo Constructions and Pointglen and to be recognised as a leader in Environmental Management feels fantastic,” he said.
Stage one of the Lake and Park Precinct at Shoal Point Waters is the first of a four stage recreation and relaxation hub for the Shoal Point Waters estate master planned community
The two-hectare site incorporates a large lake that
was designed to enhance a naturally occurring drainage path. It is fed by a series of bio-retention basins which capture stormwater run-off from the surrounding estate and filter it prior to entering the lake.
Landscaped swales are embraced as a natural feature of the lake, with footbridges elevated over the swales to provide a viewing point for both the swales and lake.
Mr Vassallo said the construction of the lake was technically complex due to acid sulphate present in the soil.
“All the excavated soil was treated using a dredging process called "sluicing" to treat the soils where it was then used as fill for the allotments,” he said.
All the water entering the lake is first filtered through a significant bioretention system before discharging into the natural environment.
“This ensures that the lakes waters always remain pristine,” Mr Vassallo said.
“The plants within the precinct have also been specifically selected to draw excess nitrogen and other contaminates out of the soil.”
Numerous edge treatments have been incorporated into the design of the lake. Large sandstone blocks, stone pitched revetment walls and formal edging all combine to create an outstanding finish
The design of the Lake and Park Precinct builds on the natural look of the large sandstone block retaining systems which are topped with thick, lush plantings that enhance the surrounding environment.
This
project
is culmination of many
years of hard work and
planning and is a huge win for environmental management

Bucking the trend
FROM butler pantries and mud rooms to lifts, electric car charging stations and black and white colour schemes that’s what’s trending in new homes this year
The insider insight comes courtesy of the judging panel in the Master Builders 2019 Housing & Construction Awards.
And they should know they’ve just spent the past few months physically visiting each home entered into the awards to make a thorough analysis of the build.
The judges noted other trends to be a strong continuation of the Hamptons style homes seen in 2018 including airy white interiors fit with shutters and neutral colour schemes.
Another trend a throwback to the ’90s is family homes where parents allow their children to choose the colour for a feature wall in their bedroom
“The butler’s pantries are almost the norm. For anything above $300,000 they definitely are, but even under that they’re increasingly incorporated,” the judges said.
“Homeowners love them so the kitchen looks neat and tidy when people are over.”
The judges said black and white had also clearly returned in a big way
“It’s a timeless look and it’s certainly back to the fore,” the judges said.
“All of a sudden it makes an appearance, whereas five years ago it was all off-white and cream.
“Now, we see a lot of crisp white with black trims and handles that almost aren’t visible.
“Everything’s gone really matte in line with this, the gloss finish is gone. As a result, there’s a growing market for fingerless matte surfaces to avoid fingerprints with black finishes.”
The judges said the increase in Hampton’s style and mudrooms came hand-in-hand.
“It’s what the Americans have, it’s the room between the inside and the outside of your home. The terminology has come through from America and Canada where there’s snow and lots of water and a mudroom is imperative.
The judges said the attraction for Hampton’s style was “homely”.
“It’s what you envisaged as a child, the architectural styling of the house has broad appeal,” the judges said.
“But the reason we don’t see it more is because of the cost. You’d probably put 20 per cent onto the cost of the house to go for Hamptons over rendered brick. Adding to this, in this style of home you see the dark, charcoal carbonated wood floors area quite prevalent.”
Beyond this, the judges said a growing trend in the higher end of the market was electric car charging stations and lifts in multi-level homes.
“Charging stations are around and being incorporated into architecturally designed homes. People are putting them in with the solar system,” the judges said
“With some homes now the height of a multi-level unit development, lifts are an increasingly common inclusion in the higher end of the market.”

MASTER BUILDERS
Working in the Whitsundays
LUKE Greene has worked in the building industry for about 20 years.
In that time he has progressed from an apprentice to carpenter to builder in partnership to a director of Greene Homes Whitsunday with partner Jennifer Pegg.
“We build in the Whitsundays because we love to live here. It is a truly inspirational environment and to be able to make people homes here is a privilege,” Ms Pegg said.
“Each block of land is unique and presents its own opportunities and challenges.
“Similarly no two clients are the same which is what makes every build interesting and new It’s our job to bring all of the elements together to maximise the potential of the land on which we are building and to achieve the lifestyle aspirations of the home builders.”
The Greene Homes Whitsunday team recently won the Ken & Nola Clark Perpetual Award for Quality Workmanship at the Master Builders Housing & Construction Awards.
The award was given for the Sapphire Bay project, a home designed specifically to suit the block and the owners.
“Our owner works in real estate and so this was a very savvy owner who knew what they wanted,” Ms Pegg said.
“They were building for themselves, no kids and not for re-sale which is really a pleasure for both the drafter and the builder.”
The block was a battle-axe and an unusual cup-shape backing on to bushland, dipping away giving views into a gentle valley at the rear of the property The home was shaped to embrace the aspect.
The heart is in home-building for this dedicated pair, whose work has won them an award for exceptional quality

“The front entrance is centred and accentuated by the pitched roofline and gable,” Ms Pegg said.
“The symmetry of the front aspect is enhanced by the linear geometry of the feature hardwood truss and exposed rafters. This has the effect of drawing the subject into the generous entrance-way. Left and right wings angle away either side of the entrance.”
She said a sense of space and grandeur was felt immediately upon entering the house.
“Eyes will be drawn up by the exposed raked rafters. The vaulted ceiling contributing to the voluminous feel of the open living area,” Ms Pegg said.
“A wall of glass sliding doors span the length of the living area opening on to the central pool and outdoor living area. Above this windows are set into the gable, maximising the natural light and unifying the flow of the indoor and outdoor space. ”
The left and right wings of the house (extending from
the central living area) embrace the outdoor pool and living area.
The left wing consists of an office, bedroom, ensuite and laundry
The right wing has the kitchen, which opens to the living area and behind this is the master suite.
These flanking wings cleverly consolidate the focal point of the central living area and make sense of the symmetry of the home’s design and aspect on the property
The home has a neutral colour scheme of white walls, ceilings and cabinetry to enhance the natural light and open airy feel of the home
Textural interest is found in the natural stone bench tops, polished concrete floor and wood features throughout.
Interior and exterior continuity is achieved through the feature of the exposed rafters and locally sourced
ironbark posts that surround the outdoor living area.
Inside a bespoke wooden barn door creates a relaxed junction between the central living area and the left wing of the home.
“Our open builders licence gives us the opportunity to do a generous scope of works but our heart is in building homes so the majority of the work we do is residential,” Ms Pegg said.
“We are bespoke builders meaning that we custom design the build and tailor the home to the specific aspirations of the home owner.”

handy, go-to guide for you
Here’s
FROM where to buy or build, sourcing quotes, signing contracts to what to do before you move in, we’ve got it all covered for you.
Some of the first questions and considerations you’re going to have often lean toward where you want to live and what you want your home to look like.
But what should also come into the equation is your budget how much have you got to spend?
The thought of owning a new home can seem almost out of reach for many Queenslanders. But with initiatives including the $15,000 First Home Owner’s Grant (FHOG) for new builds and the proposed First Home Loan Deposit Scheme (FHLDS) assisting first home owners who’ve been able to save five per cent to achieve their 20 per cent deposit, there’s an array of options to ease your entry
If you’re looking to buy, build or renovate, Master Builders offers Display Villages in the most progressive
parts of Queensland. A visit to a display village is a fantastic place to see what you like in a home, what options are available and what fits within your budget. There are consultants in each home who will be able to facilitate your every question and can arrange a meeting with a broker if you’d like to explore that path.
When it comes to sourcing quotes, we recommend getting at least three quotes from licensed builders.
Why? Because the cheapest quote isn’t necessarily the best option, so don’t feel you have to accept the first quote you get.
When sourcing quotes, the more specific you are about your plans and requirements, the more accurate the quote is likely to be.
For further information visit mbqld.com.au or contact 1300 30 50 10
Your decision to buy, build or renovate should be an enjoyable one. Just be sure to choose an experienced builder.

Award winning kitchen in
winning home
WITH five wins in two years, second generation builder Aaron Jorgensen and his wife Shani have achieved a lot in the short time their business has been operating.
Jorgensen Builders was awarded Individual Home $651,000–$750,000 and Best Residential Kitchen at the Master Builders Housing and Construction Awards.
The wins were for the project titled Dunwold 444 a property at Hampden.
The Jorgensens were approached by the clients over the Christmas break 2017 with an inquiry to build a new home on their acreage.
“They were from Western Australia and before that they lived in New Zealand,” Mr Jorgensen said
“They wanted to bring their ideas in to their new home.”
The main focal point of the home is a telegraph
pole. Mr Jorgensen said the pole was located in the middle of the living and dining areas and joined with the centre ridge beam along with the four hip/ridges, created their half octagon facade.
Leaving enough room on both sides of the post for a dining and lounge meant the post would not be in the path of traffic but a centre statement.
Mr Jorgensen said the project had been challenging with no power to the build for most of the time. They had to rely on handcraft and generators.
The home was designed with a brick veneer to give a country feel rather than a block home and also brought energy efficiency benefits
The old English style desired by the owners was achieved with unique tapware, a shaker style kitchen along with elegant splashback tiles.
The raked living area allows more light in above

PANAMA 210 offers a slice of the Hamptons in Mackay
The display home at Plantation Palms Estate was designed to suit a corner block with a turn-key price.
The three-bedroom home with media room and alfresco dining area, approximately 208sq m in size, has been finished with Essence Inclusions Range and built with Hardies Linea Cladding.
It was the winner of the Display Home $251,000–$350,000 Award at Master Builders Housing and Construction Awards.
Built by Gemini Homes, The Panama 210 was designed with first home owners in mind.
Brad Evans from Gemini said the plan was perfect for someone starting out or for anyone downsizing.
The cost was part of the concept, to help make a home affordable.
“What you see is what you get,” Mr Evans said.
“There is no wasted space. The plan is simple and user friendly.”
Still available for viewing as a display home, Mr Evans said although it was a smaller home it offered three
bedrooms and a media room with an open plan living space.
He said the design incorporated natural breezes and light to help with cost efficiency.
A highlight of the home for him was the open shower
Mr Evans said the bathroom offered the current trend of having no glass panels.

Junior takes out Apprentice of the Year
PETER Marshall is known as Junior or PJ to his building team
He was nominated by Geoff Baguley, director of Local Building Maintenance, for Apprentice of the Year at the Master Builders Housing & Construction Awards and won the title.
“We call Peter ‘Junior’, or ‘PJ’ as our foreman is also called Peter PJ is currently completing his third year as an apprentice with Local Building Maintenance,” he said.
Mr Baguley said at the end of 2016 he saw Bruce Fyfe and his team at CSQ to help find a new apprentice.
“Bruce organised students interested in construction at several schools to compete for the position and undertake work experience with our team,” he said.
“PJ was the first and most eager participant to take up the challenge and it was obvious from day one that he was going to be our next apprentice.”
Born in New Zealand, PJ relocated to Australia at a young age.
“His parents and four siblings settled in our region and have all been naturalised since,” Mr Baguley said.
“Even though we still call him a Kiwi, he works like a true-blue Aussie.”
PJ started his first-year apprenticeship in January 2017
“His happy and enthusiastic character along with over emphasised confidence saw him quickly pick up his trade,” Mr Baguley said.
“PJ has always treated his job as a career and placed it before anything else he enjoys. This is evident in his constant investment in work tools and willingness to work overtime, weekends and out of town.”
A couple of months after PJ started his apprenticeship, Cyclone Debbie devastated the region.
“PJ happily joined the team to travel to the Whitsundays to help with the insurance make safes and repairs,” Mr Baguley said.
“Even though we stayed at a complex with no water or power or supplies, he was happy to help and to learn as much as he could about a different part of his trade.”
He described PJ as a very confident and capable individual.
“PJ has proven himself to be a capable and well-respected part of our team and a future leader PJ and his success are the reasons I employed another apprentice this year and why I will employ another next year, he said.
