Honeymoon
By: Ana Luz Solís • Photo by: Cortesía
The Sweetest Honeymoon Europe has landscapes and sceneries that have inspired artists to create great love stories all over the world.
For those who have a passion for traveling, Europe is one of the most recommended places, not only because you will experience and discover ideal places but also, because you will be able to feel romance in all its splendor and magnificence. France, Italy, Hungary, Spain, Greece, England and some other countries within the European Union offer different activities that are perfect for lovers, from visiting spectacular castles to gondola rides that will allow couples re-create the perfect atmosphere to love and nourish their passion. Travel specialists suggest proven routes perfect for romance. Here are their recommendations for the most visited sites: ITALY In this boot-shaped country you can find Venice, a place rich in architecture and eye catching landscapes. This is the ideal hiding place for couples and lovers who may want to ride in a gondola enjoying a romantic candle-lit dinner. In addition to romance, Italy offers a variety of cultural and architectural sites that will make a very complete trip for visitors.
FRANCE To be able to tell how Paris has inspired love to couples, you simply need to listen to the poems, songs, and movies that have made this city their source of inspiration. Everything is love there. This place has more than one special charm, it has this place where you can find the “Wall of I Love You” located specifically at the Jehan Rictus Square or the Des Arts bridge where lovers engrave their love in locks and throw the key into the Sienna River and seal their love with a kiss having as witness an illuminated Eiffel Tower under a starry sky. Not only France has Paris, there is also this beautiful city surrounded by the blue Mediterranean: Nice, famous also for its shops and restaurants that will make your trip a very pleasant experience. Experts say Nice is the perfect place to let loose and live love unleashed while walking around the Cours Saleya Flower Market and the Matisse Museum.
GREECE A visit to the Greek island of Mykonos part of the Cyclades, located in the Aegean Sea will offer views that lovers will admire and like, since it not only offers majestic sceneries but also is the place where they can enjoy the best sunsets surrounded by windmills or a succulent dinner in any of the hidden restaurants found in its passageways. The faded buildings of Corfu are other attractions that couples love specially for its architecture and small cobblestoned streets. HUNGARY Budapest is its main attraction. This place is near to the Danube River and is full of narrow passageways that take visitors to another era and dimension making this the perfect place to stroll. In Hungary you may also find Margaret Island in the middle of the Danube, ideal place for lovers who like to travel at night or to have a ride across this beautiful river. Europe is one of the most recommended places, not only because you will experience and discover ideal places but also because you will be able to feel romance in its entire splendor
SPAIN The Iberian Peninsula has various attractions perfect for couples. One of these is Seville since many consider it the most romantic city of Spain and of the world. Salamanca is another perfect place for romance; full of medieval paths and monuments so amazing as the famous Casa de Las Conchas, La Plaza mayor or the faรงade of the Univesidad de Salamanca, which is one of the oldest universities in Europe. Ibiza is another chosen place for couples since it not only famous for its nightlife but also for all the different attractions couples can enjoy on a weekend.
Alessandra & Mark Photography: David Pezzat
In the spirit of Aloha, Alessandra Ochoa and Mark Valdez were married in Maui, Hawaii on Thursday January 31. The bride wore a beautiful lace gown with a cathedral veil and a White Phalaenopsis flower in her hair. .
Her something new were gold earrings in the shape of plumeria flowers given to her by her mother. Her something old and blue was an old silver coin wrapped in a blue pouch and attached to her dress and her something borrowed was a diamond pendant that belongs to her mother. Ali carried a gorgeous hand tied bouquet of Peonies, Orange Dahlias, Lavender, Cold Water Roses and Garden Roses. The sky had shed droplets of rain throughout the day and as she walked down an aisle framed in colorful Orchids with her father to the song “Somewhere Over the Rainbow the sky became clear and even displayed a beautiful and emblematic rainbow. The bride and her father were preceded by a traditional Conch Blower. In Hawaii the Conch signals a special event. The Conch blower called to the 4 corners, East, North, West and South. The East for the sun rising, the North for the stars that guide us, the West for the ocean and the South for their ancestors. The ceremony took place on the Napili Lawn at The Ritz Carlton- Kapalua. It allowed the couple and their guests to enjoy a panoramic view of the Kapalua Cliffside and Honolua Bay along with the celebration which included a meaningful Welcoming chant that conveyed the couple finding what they were longing for and being filled with eagerness and anticipation and because of all the family and friends in attendance there was much love.
A love that began as a friendship while the couple was still in high school. For several years Mark and Ali remained friends and later began dating. Mark chooses a very special day to ask Ali for her hand in marriage. On Ali’s birthday in April of 2012, the couple along with family and friends spent the weekend on South Padre Island. After a wonderful dinner celebration at Palm Street Pier, Mark decided it was the perfect moment. He got down on one knee and as Ali asked what he was doing, he gathered his love and said, I have a question to ask you, will you marry me? Tears of joy filled Ali’s eyes as she lovingly replied, Yes. Many talented and creative minds allowed Mark and Ali to fulfill a dream like wedding. From Event Specialist and Coordinator Ector Arian Casas of The Social Club and EVE Events to wedding photographer David Pezzat, florist Brenda Guerra of Special Flowers Couture Florists and Susana Rosser of Dream Weddings along with the helpful staff at The Ritz Carlton.

Laura Elizabeth Morales and Chris Welch met at McAllen City Hall in 2011. Chris had been hired as a graphic designer to complete the City of McAllen's Centennial Annual Report, under a very tight deadline.
It was there that he met Laura Elizabeth, who was working as the project manager. He asked her out a week later and they dated for the next few months. Chris proposed to Laura Elizabeth at midnight on January 1, 2012 in the middle of the City of McAllen's New Year's Eve Bash, where she was working as an on air personality and social media correspondent. Surrounded by confetti and fireworks, she said yes! Their wedding was at Casa Los Ebanos on December
8, 2012. For their honeymoon, the couple traveled to New York City. Laura Elizabeth is the daughter of Joel and Marisa Morales. Chris is the son of Carlton and Sue Welch; and Derek and Lynn Koch. They have a cat named Chloe. The couple decided to take photos after the wedding at the Pearl Brewery in San Antonio. The urban area has been redeveloped from an old beer brewery into a bustling, vibrant attraction just minutes from downtown where they both work.

you chose doesn’t have all that is needed such as: a specific area with uniform surfaces, a tent with proper lighting and comfortable furniture. You may need the advise of an expert to get the best out of the natural beauty of the place chosen and integrate this to your ceremony. Indoor Locations: a room can easily be transformed with the couples own preferences and tastes. “These special places are ideal since due to the features they have, are perfect choices for a multiplied variety and surprising details that will print your event with vitality and a positive environment.
A Wedding on the Beach
If you can’t resist the charm of sea and sand, it is highly recommended that you schedule your wedding during the months of November and March, when the weather is perfect. If you want an outstanding wedding, it is also a good idea to take advantage of the benefits that both, local providers and the place itself offer.
What to look for when choosing a location:
1. A place that has the capacity to accommodate your guests. 2. A place both of you like 3. Something that fits your budget. 4. An easy access location

The Perfect Session
Written & Photo by: Anahi Navarro
Will you marry me? Perfect Session
How your engagement session helps your wedding day by Anahi Weddings. One of the most important questions we are frequently asked is should we have an engagement session. Although it is an individual decision every couple will make, there are great advantages to having a fun session with your fiancĂŠ.
First of all it is great practice! Most couples we meet have never been in front of a camera for a professional photo session. It takes a bit to get used to having a camera in front of you all day and on your wedding day the camera will follow you all day. The engagement session eases you for your big day. We have found couples are less nervous and the images have a more natural feel the day of your wedding. Second, it is a lot of fun! You are probably in planning mode and have lots of things you are juggling to make all the arrangements to make your dream come true. An engagement session gives couples a day to celebrate this process. You come together for one day to create memories that will last a lifetime and it gets you back in the romantic mode heading to your wedding day.
Third, it is a great ice breaker! When you choose a photographer it is usually after one or two meetings about photography and budgets but this is the first time you get to really work with your photographer. It is a great way for the photographer to know more about you and for you to see how she/he works. This helps both you and your photographer have a good relationship for the day of the wedding which makes for better images. One of the main reasons we love engagement sessions is we get a view into our clients journey and get to learn a little more about all the plans going into the the wedding day. Finally, the fourth and most important reason for an engagement session is amazing pics! These
sessions produce some of our favorite and most amazing images of our clients. Wedding days are usually packed with fun itinerary events and leave only a small time portion for a session. Engagement sessions give your photographer more time and freedom from time constraints to create those great images you chose her/him for. There are many more reasons to have an engagement session: Having images to use as save the dates, incorporate images into the decor of the wedding, or to have great art to display at your home. We hope this helps you in one of those many decisions towards your wedding day.

Avoid
Prenuptial Stress “Wedding planning may cause a lot of stress to couples. All the expenses, expectations, as well as the idea to adapt their new life may cause a crisis during their engagement.”
As couples plan their wedding and their new life together, they go through a variety of feelings and emotions. And as if that weren’t enough, the duties of their families may add and create a tense environment that may cause conflicts that can lead to postpone the wedding or even cancel it. “Nobody can guarantee you that planning a wedding will be an easy task, but it is the time to do it, each of you as an individual, and together as a couple, with the purpose of facing, solving, and deciding together the situations that may arise. You will discuss and discover new ways to live your love. Sometimes you will win, others you will lose but together you will learn to share and harmonize.”
In order to avoid a prenuptial crisis, please consider the following: • Never spend what you don’t have. • Understand that by cutting back wedding expenses you are not diminishing the joy and excitement of you great day. • Plan ahead of time, and have a perfect organization, this will keep you aware of those details that are out of your control and will give you the opportunity solve them without the pressure of time. • Keep in mind that preparing a wedding is a matter of two and only the two of you must decide what or what not to do.

Enjoy your Intimacy
You will have a new life together, to maintain the harmony, it is important to use a reliable birth control method that better suits both of you. A very important topic to discuss is the birth control method both would like to use. Although it is true that your doctor’s opinion is essential, both of you should consider other personal aspects such as: your lifestyle, the importance that spontaneity has in your sexuality and your desire to have a family. On the other hand, if you choose to use a hormonal contraceptive method, several questions may appear: will I have problems to get pregnant? What if I forget to take my daily pill? Is my body going to suffer changes? Science has nowadays advanced hugely and offers options that are suitable to your body and needs, one of these innovations is the contraceptive patch.
How does the contraceptive patch works?
The patch releases through your skin, continuously during 7 days, small amounts of hormones that will
prevent ovulation. It is 99% efficient if you follow your doctor’s instructions, besides: • It is the only transdermal contraceptive that is used weekly. Only 3 patches are required per cycle. • Since it is not easy to remove, it can be used in warm climates and you can even use it while swimming, exercising or at the sauna. Allows your fertility to rapidly go back to normal, you may seek a pregnancy 6 weeks after you stop using it. Reduces discomforts caused by your menstrual cycle. • What happens if I decide to use it? Ask your doctor if you are eligible to use it. He will prescribe it based on your medical history. When using the patch it is recommended that each week you place them in different parts of your body to avoid possible skin irritations.

Gifts

Create a gift list that is both useful for you and convenient for your guests.
The perfect & practical Gift Registry
Benefits for everybody
Having a wedding gift registry is an option with benefits for all: • The bride and groom may choose the style of gifts they wish for. • Guests are able to have a list of the couple’s wishes and likes. Besides, the stores, which offer this type of service, include also additional benefits such as: free gift shipping, merchandise exchange, payment plans, and credit for the couple. With so many benefits, bride and groom shouldn’t worry if they desire to include those pricey gifts they really want, actually, if a family member wishes to surprise them with that special gift, having a list like this is the best thing to do.
Virtual registries, wonderful!
Not only these important stores you like and know offer the benefit of a wedding registry, there are a lot of other stores who offer online wedding registries too. There you’ll not only find, furniture or appliances but also home building materials, honeymoon, travel packages, and all kind of wedding services for you to book or hire. This is such a great idea especially if you have foreign guests attending.
Combine and be a winner
As a way to help your guests, set your gift registry in more than one store. Having different choices and variety is something they will really appreciate.
Where should I start?
Choosing the items for your wedding registry is fun and exciting but you have to consider that it will take time and requires planning. Check these tips: 1. Start by deciding with your partner the style both wish to have in your new home. Make use of magazines, and clip those photos or ideas you most like. 2. Look around carefully every room in your new home, make notes and do a “must have” list. 3. Think about your parents’ home and make a list of all those things you use daily and include them in your list. 4. Share your list with your mother, best married friend or sister, they will definitely help you identify which things are necessary and which are not. 5. Do not leave this to the last moment. Have your registry completed at least two months prior to your event, if possible this way your guests may be able to take advantage of store offers, season’s discounts, and even use those same lists to buy gifts for your bachelorette/ bachelor parties.
Planning

A successful event depends almost upon it. Having variety is the key to an exciting repertoire.
The Music the life of your partyng Express yourself and have confidence
Even if you are considering a DJ or a band, the first step to have the ideal musical setting in your event is to do a little research about the musical preferences both you and your guests have, and communicate it to your music provider in a timely and precise manner. Jesus Tovar is the director of Europe Band, he points out: “it is very important to consider your guests’ preferences, if they like to dance, and the age range”. Once you have chosen 2 or 3 different music styles, listen to the music staff; their expertise will be very helpful to get a balanced repertoire.
Mix and Enjoy
If you think your wedding will last more than expected, you have the perfect excuse to choose both options: a band and a DJ. On the other hand, if your guests are not dance lovers or not good for late night parties your best option will be to hire a traditional band for up to 5 hours.
Basic music styles
No matter the style your event has, if the dance is your concern take a look at the 5 styles that according the Europe Band should never be left out: Some modern music (choice of your preference), Rock (required!), Pop: to have a relieved atmosphere, Some “cumbias” (popular dance) or tropical themes. Music from different ages: 80’s, 90’s We thank Jesus Tovar for his advise while making this article.
Beauty New life
Important things
to do to your hair before your big day…ng Your wedding supposed to be the happiest day of your life. As the bride, you’ll are the center of attention, and your photographs will capture the moment forever.
1.Cut your hair.
Don’t plan on getting a haircut right before the big day. Instead, do it a month or two prior to the wedding to ensure that you like the cut and it will work with the hairstyle you’ve chosen.
2. Retouch your hair color.
It is recommended doing your retouch 15 days
before your wedding. You want your hair color to look perfect along with your hairstyle that day.
3. Make your hair longer.
Make your dream come true of having long hair on your big day; putting hair extensions will be perfect. You can style it with hair pieces or veil.
4. Don’t forget about the groom.
Although you’ll be the focus of the big day, you will want his hair to look just as good. Make sure the groom gets a good haircut a week before the wedding.

Hair & Make-up a unique concept
“Look like the bride on a magazine”
Wedding day is considered to be the most important day of the bride’s life, due to which she starts giving high significance to each and every aspect. Besides the dress, makeup, venue and the ring, the hairstyle should have distinctive importance.
Brides’ hairstyle should be chosen based on the style and cut of the wedding dress. The perfect bride hairstyle could be from loose hair or a tight bun, as long the bride looks stunning on her special day.
