Mary Chapa Owner of Flawless Makeup Artistry

“Airbrush makeup makes Beauty Simply Flawless” I started doing makeup a little over 13 years ago. My sister had a book by Kevin Aucoin who instantly became an inspiration. I took cosmetology in high school and decided to continue education at a local beauty college where I graduated from. Since then my passion for makeup was always there. Does personality reflected in the makeup? Every bride has a personality; every personality has a different idea of her ideal bridal look. I make sure to give every bride a specific personalized look for her special day. What does it mean to you the day of the wedding? The wedding day for me is the day that transition is

made. The most important day of her life is in my hands and I must assure her that the results will be amazing and that everything will be perfect for this special day! What are the expectations of a bride on the big day? All brides are nervous; my job is to make her comfortable and her day memorable. I want her to know she can trust me in asking any questions or have last minute changes. Do you consider yourself a kind of fairy godmother for the bride? Not a fairy god mother, but someone who is focused on helping her enhance her natural beauty for her special day. How do you manage to make the bride feel comfortable on her wedding day? By giving her what she wants, listening to her and her ideas of a perfect look for her big day. After all, all eyes will be on her!!! What should the maid of honor/bridesmaid have in her purse to keep the brides makeup flawless? Make sure she has tissues for the emotional moments and her favorite lip gloss to touch up. Natural or extraordinary makeup Both... Natural and extraordinary Favorite brand of Makeup I don't have a specific favorite brand. I like and use different brands depending on each bride’s needs. Favorite lipstick color My personal favorite is Yves Saint Laurent “Rouge Volupté Nude Beige”

“Not just a photographer, but a certified professional photographer”

The Certification as a Professional Photographer (CPP) is an acknowledgment issued by the Professional Photographers Association of America which is the largest of its kind in the world. This is granted to those photographers who have reached a high level of professionalism, knowledge and practical experience in various branches in photography. To obtain it, the applicant needs to prof the level of professionalism and knowledge, by taking a test formulated to reflect same standards as the Institute of Credentialing Excellence. In the same manner, professionals consider all technical and aesthetic aspects of a portrait by evaluating a series of images. Now, what does this means for the client? When a

person hires a certified photographer, he/she is hiring experience, quality in their work and of course, a photographer concerned about educating himself even more, in short, the client hires tranquility. These days, technology has made easier the access to more and cheaper cameras; people overnight have proclaimed themselves " photographers ", often without the basic knowledge in the subject. Certification makes the difference, to be a photographer is not something that you can become overnight, it takes years of work and study to achieve. "To me, obtaining the certification means: First, the implied warranty and support that I offer to my clients a commitment to work at the highest level. At the professional level, it means one more step on the long road of learning. Finally personal satisfaction, which reflects my ongoing quest for professional grow and my passion to be better every day in what I love to do. "

The quality of the magazine itself, the well chosen group of advertised vendors, the attention to details plus the targeted customers, it's what makes this bridal magazine one of the few that meets the standards Sposa

Not only does the magazine focus on informing the modern bride they go above and beyond for their vendors. I have been given the opportunity to showcase my work and often times clients have walked into my office with cut outs of my ad or weddings I have worked on that have been featured. I have also noticed that in a year span they have gained recognition from the brides asking what they need to do to have their wedding featured in the magazine. I would highly recommend for any business in the wedding and event industry who are quality oriented to join the beautiful magazine. Best wishes to the MAXWELL team! Destination weddings The dress

By: SOUTH PADRE SANDS • Photo by: DAVID PEZZAT • LOCATION: POPA PARADISE BEACH RESORT

Destination Weddings are filled with romance and adventure A Destination Wedding can be one of the most romantic types of weddings. Whisking away with your closet friends and family to a castle in Scotland, an exotic island or our local gem, South Padre Island, TX. Destination Wedding has became a growing trend due to their affordability and convenience. Rather than worrying about the expense of a ceremony, reception and honeymoon, you can combine the three. Working alongside with a Destination Wedding Planner you can save on group travel and resort room blocks. Also, using the surrounding natural beauty as a backdrop for your wedding can save on additional décor.

Another popular reason for a Destination Wedding is the experience! Your guests can be treated to a Hawaiian style Luau Welcome Party, a Fire Dancing Show as dinner entertainment and fun filled excursions, providing them a lifetime experience. Overall, Destination Weddings are filled with romance and adventure. Whether you are saying “I DO” on the beaches of Puerto Rico or sealing your love with a kiss under the Eiffel Tower, the locations and experiences are endless.

Gery & Diego November 27, 2013 was the day I had been waiting for my whole life…The day I would finally be joined in matrimony to my soul mate... a dream come true! The morning began with prayer followed by hot tea in the kitchen where I got to spend quality time with my bridesmaids and family. As we were “glammed” up for the big event, we enjoyed each other’s company along with pictures and girl talk down memory lane. The excitement grew as my Mom and Bridesmaids started to put on my beautiful dress, never the less the moment I walked out of my house! As we drove up to The Bridge Church, where the ceremony would take place, my heart started to pound faster! My Mom began to help me put on my wedding veil and suddenly everything began to feel

surreal. One by one my bridesmaids began to show up and joined me in the bridal suite, followed by my niece and nephew and last but not least my Father. It was then I knew the moment had come for me to walk down the aisle. As I listened to the message I had for my family, friends and most important, Diego, somehow it all became so perfect, more than I had ever imagined! The moment I entered the church and started to walk down the aisle everything was blurred and all I could see was my knight in shining armor standing at the altar waiting to make me his wife. As he reached for my hand and we locked eyes, I noticed he had a tear so I gave him the biggest smile filled with love. The ceremony was amazing, especially the defining moment as we exchanged our personally written vows! A sense of peace and happiness came over us as the pastors prayed over our marriage; we felt Gods presence as he blessed our marriage and made us one. After, we celebrated at Kalos Event Center with our closest friends and family. It was an all white magical sparkly and elegant setting. To suit our personalities, our uncle Romeo De Leon surprised us with some of favorite bands! They played live music to make this event memorable: Grupo Pegasso, Grupo Notable, Grupo Secretto, Rigo Marroquin, Sonora Macaleńa & Oscar Ivan Trevino sang specially for us. As I was sitting at the reception, watching everyone on the floor dancing the night away, I couldn't help but reflect and be grateful to God for his never ending pour of blessings in our life! From the first dance until the celebration ended at 2:30am followed by a "tornaboda", where the guests were served menudo, more dancing and singing... This was truly a wedding to remember not only

for us but for everyone who had the pleasure of experiencing it. I felt the hall was glowing, glass was sparkling and everyone was so happy! VENDORS Photographer: David Pezzat Reception and Flowers: Kalos Event Center

Valerie & Robert Our wedding was AMAZING. Each and every one of our vendors went above and beyond in making our day unforgettable and perfect. We were so overwhelmed with emotion the moment we first stepped into the ballroom. It felt as if we were walking into a fairytale. Brenda of Special Flowers Couture really outdid herself in taking my ideas and transforming them into a beautiful and breathtaking reality. My dress was everything I wanted it to be and my husband made sure to let me know how much he loved it throughout the night. The goal was to make

our wedding very personal and intimate; a reflection of whom we are by including numerous personal details. We designed a crest logo with our initials

and displayed it as much as we could. Our cocktail napkins, Macaroon escort cards, candy bar bags, dancing slippers, and dance floor were all emblazoned with our logo. Backstage Productions custom made a GOBO of our crest and projected it to the dance floor which was really cool. My husband enjoys Bar-B-Queing so we gave bottles of his homemade sauce as wedding favors. We also had a social media wall projected above the band, where guest's Instagram photos, Tweets and Facebook posts were displayed in real time if they included our hashtag #VAFRDT13. Overall our day was so special, we had the time of our lives dancing the night away with all of our closest family and friends and it truly was an unforgettable (and exhausting) night. We were very relieved to travel to Europe the following day for our two week long honeymoon!

Dawn & Eddie Their story began in April 2010; three weeks after Dawn made the move to New York City. As they first locked eyes during her search for a Manhattan apartment, Dawn and Eddie both admit: It was love at first sight. When they met, Eddie was her would-be landlord. However, when she turned down the apartment, he asked her on a date. A year and a half later, during an evening horsedrawn carriage ride through Central Park, a historical fountain lined with tea-light candles as the backdrop, Eddie asked for Dawn’s hand in marriage. “It was a complete surprise! He put so much love and thought into elaborately planning every detail of the night—I couldn’t have dreamt of a more perfect proposal,” gushed Dawn. Eric Sierra captured the most romantic and passionate moments of their lives. On their 3-year anniversary, Dawn and Eddie said, “I do” on a private beach in Tulum, during an intimate ceremony surrounded by their immediate family and closest friends. The happy couple resides in Manhattan.

Erica & Jorge From the moment we got engaged, Jorge and I knew that we wanted to have our wedding in Brownsville, Texas because it felt like home to us. We also instantly knew that we wanted our wedding to be a celebration of not only our love for each other, but for the union of our two wonderful families, a huge party with our favorite people, and a classic affair with a touch of modern elements. For the décor, I had imagined an emerald and gold color scheme, lush green garland down long banquet tables, classic white floral, and

hints of glitter and black and white stripes to add that modern touch. Thanks to our wonderful vendors our wedding was all that we had imagined and more! Susana Rosser from All Party Rentals and Brenda Guerra from Special Flowers transformed our outdoor venue into something truly magical. Our wedding coordinator, Ector Casas from EVE Events, made sure every detail was perfect. Cynthia’s Cakes incorporated the elements of my décor into our cake, and designed a cake that was not only breathtaking but delicious. Anahi and Edgar Navarro captured special moments of our wedding so that we will have beautiful pictures to cherish forever. Jorge and I cannot thank these wonderful people enough for their commitment to making our day exceptionally special, and for all of their planning, attention to detail and their beautiful work.

Andrea & Gilbert Andrea and I met purely by accident, it was fate that brought us together. We lived in neighboring rival towns, attended different high schools and were in different grades. So we would not have ever crossed paths had it not been for our Catholic Catechism Classes (CCD). Due to my hectic athletic training schedule, I was unable to attend my assigned CCD courses and this turned out to be the best decision I ever made. Little did I know that in doing so, I would end up meeting the love of my life. In September 2004, my life was changed forever as I saw her sitting across the table, I couldn't keep my eyes off her. I asked around to see if anyone knew her name. My best friend formally introduced us and all I could think of was how sweaty my palms were. I knew I had to do something drastic in order to capture her attention. In December, while we were delivering Christmas gifts to less fortunate families, I threw her over my shoulder and ran off with her. In February 2005, I asked her to be my girlfriend and as it turned out we were both each others first. When I knew I was ready to spend the rest of my life with her, I asked her to marry me on the same place and month where I first laid my eyes on her. Eight years later, here I sit writing this, two months before marrying her I get a flood of memories, the way my heart started beating for her the second I saw her,

how I couldn't wait for every Wednesday to arrive so I could see her, and how she made fun of my sweaty hands. It's been an amazing ride, and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with her. Our adventure is just beginning... These photos that our amazing photographer took captures eight years of true love and more to come. Nora & Tomas Wedding date April 5, 2014 We were both born and raised in Brownsville Tx. We lived our lives without knowing each other despite having mutual friends and family. Since we were a few years apart and studied outside of Brownsville we did not cross paths until 3 years ago. We finally met in October of 2010. After 2 years of dating and coming to the apparent and real realization that we were meant for each other we got engaged in January of 2012 and set out to have an intimate wedding to formalize and let everyone know what we had come to realize the day we met. That we were meant for each.

Adela & Joel Photographer: David Pezzat Our love first started back when we were sophomores in high school. I was so head over heels with him and he was too nervous to ask me out. Finally after dating for 5 years, we decide to take a drive i notices he was a nervous wreck. I didn’t make it any easier with me shouting but finally he pop the question and I couldn’t help but to say “Yes, I Do." So when it was time to pick a photographer for our wedding, we couldn’t help but to go with one person and that is David. He is such an amazing photographer we knew we made the right choice to capture our love on our special day.

Patty & Rudy Rudy and I met professionally during our internship as pharmacy students in the summer of 2008. However, our courtship did not begin until the spring of 2011, when a mutual friend from Fry's Prescription Pharmacy in San Benito played the role of matchmaker and suggested we go out on a date. We were very nervous on our first date, but we soon realized that we shared many special interests, such as watching UT Longhorn football, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Though we have created many memories throughout our relationship, our favorite is the walk by the sparkling Eiffel Tower where Rudy proposed. We have set our wedding date for August 2, 2014. Tony & Cristy We went to San Antonio because we volunteer at the San Antonio stock show; she had just passed her state exam to become a speech pathologist. So I decided to take her to dinner to celebrate at Tower of the Americas. While we were having a beautiful view of the city I gave her a gift she wanted, a duck call so that’s how I presented the ring and proposed to her.
