NEW! EMERGENCY SERVICES SAFETY CAMP Calling all up-and-coming babysitters and teens interested in emergency services. Become CPR certified and learn the proper procedures of first aid, tying knots and the use of an AED. Gain the basic skills necessary to effectively identify and treat emergencies in the critical first minutes of injury or illness. Learn proper fire extinguisher usage and learn sound decision-making processes on when to use an extinguisher. Learn about our high school career academy and explore different career opportunities while being challenged mentally and physically as you are introduced to your new role as an emergency care provider. Watch real firefighters demonstrate an emergency situation and meet Omaha Fire Department’s accelerant detection dog, Alley, and her K-9 partner, investigator Dave Sobotka. Book included. Laugh Out Loud Comedy Camp*

Do you want to be the funniest person in the room? Incredibly talented comedians such as Will Ferrell, Amy Poehler, Jordan Peele and Keegan Michael Key all started out by learning how to improvise. Improvisers have the ability to think on their feet as they create something truly entertaining from a simple suggestion. Discover three essential rules of improvisation, six performance games and hone the soft skills of improvisers such as active listening, public speaking and team collaboration skills. Come laugh the summer away and share your new skills with friends and family with a performance at the end of camp. Classes are extremely active. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. According to the American Welding Society, there is a major shortage of welders in today’s workforce. This camp serves as a stepping stone to figure out if this is something you’d like to pursue as a career. Learn safety and the basics to cut and weld steel using oxy-acetylene, just like the professionals. In our fully equipped lab, discover how to design and create a unique metal art piece to take home and share with friends and family. Students must wear leather shoes, long sleeves and long pants. KidZ Biz Entrepreneurship Camp

Turn your passion into a real-life business this summer. College for Teens is offering a special entrepreneur class for youth ages 12-15. This day camp aims to equip you with the knowledge and skills to start your own business or improve an existing one. Explore building a brand by creating a product, discover marketing strategies, receive expertise from different speakers and not only that, but you will be given the opportunity to sell your goods at a public venue. If you love playing video games, this is the camp for you. Make your first video game in this one-of-a-kind class that shows you the keys to designing your first 2-D platformer game. Conceptualization, play experience, level design, graphics, sounds and simple coding are just some of the concepts that we’ll explore. No prior experience necessary, just a desire to have fun. Learning the principles and concepts of aviation, we start with creating record-breaking paperairplanes to understanding the basics of powered unmanned flight to learning about the fastest air-breathing planes.
