Blair Public Library, 2233 Civic Drive, Blair, NE The Blair Public Library and Technology Center combines modern technology, expanded collection and staff areas and multi-use meeting spaces. The 27,000 square-foot facility provides 4,500 square feet of public gathering and meeting spaces, including a technology-rich conference room, a warming kitchen, public restrooms and 1,800 square-feet of sub-dividable meeting space. Unique library spaces include a 1,000 square foot art exhibit space, and a 500 square-foot Makerspace with digital media, recording, 3D printing, scanning and a variety of other creative opportunities.

Located in a former junior high school building, the fast-growing Fremont Area Center now boasts three times the space of its prior location in Eastville Plaza. Opened in 2007, the center includes 11 classrooms, computer labs, student services and a modern Certified Nursing Assistant lab. Tutoring: Tutoring is available for GED students on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m.-noon. Read Right tutoring is offered to enrolled students, Monday through Friday for drop in tutoring from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Conversation Partners: Conversation Partners is a great way for students and community members who are working toward improving their English. There are specific times and days offered to students and community members. An instructor leads the sessions. Accelerated learning opportunities-GAP: An accelerated learning option for those who are focused and highly motivated. Assistance in completing your GED in English: Once a student completes the noncredit ESL program, they will be transitioned into the GED program. The student will then take the Test of Adult Basic Education and their scores will determine the class enrollment. Learn English

ESL: MCC Adult Education provides noncredit ESL classes for literacy level, non-English speaking students. The classes focus on basic English and survival English skills. Students who can already communicate in English should consider continuing to improve their English speaking and writing skills in credit classes. We have six different ESL levels. Once a student has completed level six, a variety of options will be available depending upon each unique situation.

Integrated Pest Management for Pollinating Bees

Trick Training

This is a class for gardeners, growers, horticulturalists, beekeepers and pesticide applicators as it relates to trees, shrubs and flowering plants which will require or host pollinating bees. Learn about various control methods including pesticides that can be more safely implemented when anticipating the presence of pollinating bees. The Horse Course 101 This introduction course to horses will touch on many of the important topics in order to keep a horse happy and healthy. Students will learn about anatomy, nutrition, health and care of the horse. Guest speakers will present on various careers in the equine industry and discuss their background, training and experience. The Horse Course 102

Prerequisite: The Horse Course 101, placement into Horse Course 102, or approval. Students unable to attend Horse Course 101 or with previous knowledge of horses will have the chance to test into Horse Course 102. Build upon the topics you learned in The Horse Course 101 and dive into greater detail regarding special topics in horse health and care. A continuation of the discussion about a variety of careers will occur, as guest speakers will be invited to present and answer questions on topics within their area. *PROTO Design Lab The PROTO Design Lab is a place where you can visualize, develop and create just about anything you want. Technicians are available to help you with any questions. The equipment available includes: 3D printers, laser cutters, plasma cutter, CNC routers, a vinyl cutter, 3D scanners, an embroidery machine, milling machines, painting and finishing machines and a full wood and metal working lab. This course is a continuation of the Intro to Drone Pilot Training course, which participants receive more in-depth training on all aspects of the FAA Part 107 knowledge concept rules and regulations needed to safely fly drones. We provide access to DJI Phantom Series sUAS for the class. Course prerequisites: Completion of Intro to Drone Pilot Training, plus FAA requirements for exam are 16 and older, a U.S. citizen and be able to read and speak English. *How to Fly a Drone

Prerequisite—Intro to Drone Pilot Training Flying a drone can be complex, confusing and intimidating. This course is designed for beginner and intermediate drone pilots who want more hands-on experience flying drones in a controlled environment, guided by a FAA Certified Remote Pilot. Participants navigate drones through an indoor obstacle course for hands-on, one-on-one flight instruction. Upon completion, students are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to confidently perform basic and intermediate drone maneuvers. Bring your own drone, or MCC can supply you with a DJI Phantom Pro 4, DJI Mavic Pro for the class. Refunds will be issued to students who drop a class at least one business day (seven days for tours) prior to the class start date. No refunds will be issued for classes dropped on or after the class start date. MCC assumes no liability for accidents that occur while participating in Continuing Education classes and provides no funds to cover medical costs. Participants are reminded that participation is entirely voluntary and are strongly urged to have their own health insurance. It is understood that participation is voluntary and MCC is not responsible for injuries or accidents and all liability against them is waived.
