Sports Summer Rec Leagues Baseball and Softball
RECREATION ACTIVITY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM Qualifying low-income or disabled individuals or families who live in the city limits of Leavenworth and are currently receiving public financial assistance can be awarded a $100 credit per approved person per year to be used toward certain Parks and Recreation activities, such as fitness facility passes, swim programs, and youth sports. Youth Summer Baseball and Softball – $50/player* The Leavenworth Parks and Recreation Department sponsors summer baseball/softball leagues for boys and girls ages 5 through 13 (birth date as of May 1 – no exceptions). Teams will be chosen by a skills testing system which will be held in April at the Sportsfield Recreation Complex. Children MUST play in their appropriate age group. The season will run June-July. Register March 1 – 31. Late registration fee applied after March 31 is $25 per player. Late fees are not covered by the scholarship program.

Men’s Spring Double Header Softball Open to all men age 19 and over whose high school class has graduated. Each team is guaranteed 10 games. The season will run April-May. Requires a minimum of 4 teams. A maximum of 12 teams will be accepted. No divisions. U.S.A. (formerly A.S.A.) rules. Games will be played on Mondays and Wednesdays. Registration between February 1 and February 28. Fee is $325. Men’s Summer Softball Open to all men age 19 and over whose high school class has graduated. Each team is guaranteed 10 games. The season will run May-July. If there are enough teams, there will be 2 divisions. U.S.A. (formerly A.S.A.) rules. Games will be played on Mondays and Wednesdays. Certified Session 2: Feb 25-Mar 19 Class Level Age Times instructors teach in a a supportive Session 3: Mar 24-Apr 16 environment for students to learn Parent/Child 1-3 yrs 11-11:40 a.m. and obtain skills. Students must be Session 4: Apr 21-May 14 Preschool 4-5 yrs 11-11:40 a.m. registered by NOON the Friday before 1,2,3 Class Level Age Times the Tuesday/Thursday session starts and Levels 1,2,3 6 and up 11-11:40 a.m. Parent/Child 1-3 yrs 6-6:40 p.m. NOON Wednesday before the Saturday session starts.
