What a month! Benton Library Media Center celebrated Teen Read Week with lots of music filled events! The next week, a shipment of over 400 new books arrived! Read on! BHS is Reading! Benton Library has seen stats on track with last year’s numbers, which will likely outpace last year’s record 15,000 item checkouts! Here’s our stats for October 2010:

Teen Read Week 2010 . . . Books With a Beat! Teen Read Week 2010 was a success! The event ran from Oct. 18-22 and students were able to listen to the library’s Pandora radio channel streaming all week long, visit during lunch to watch movies, and join the OASIS Gaming Club for Guitar Hero!

New Books @ Benton Library . . . 400+ to Be Exact! Our fall book order arrived during late October! The library processed over 400 books in less than a day to get them on the shelves ASAP! Check out this pics of our new books display!

Gateway Readers Award Nominees 2010-11 . . . Now with QR Codes! Not sure which Gateway Award Nominee you should read? (FYI, the Gateway is a Missouri award given to the best book for grades 9-12 as determined by student voters!) Check out the titles below and scan the QR Code with your iPod or smartphone barcode scanner app to view a book trailer!
