The Fort Dodge girls have been a backcourt-dominated basketball program for the better part of the last two decades.
The 2022-23 Dodgers expect to flip the script on that narrative.
Head coach Scott Messerly’s squad is bigger, stronger and possibly better this season, as Fort Dodge will attempt to solidify a winning campaign for the first time in nine years during the months to come. “It’s kind of different, being able to utilize and gameplan around this much size,” said Messerly, who is in his fifth season at the helm. “Not just because all three are big, but they’re versatile.
“It’s a great opportunity for us. We’re not a complete team yet by means, but having this kind of rebounding and interior ability gives us some distinct advantages.”
