APPLE, PORK AND GINGER STIR FRY: THE INGREDIENTS: • ½ tablespoon vegetable oil • 300 grams (10 oz) pork fillet (available in supermarkets) or loin steaks cut into thin strips • One clove of garlic, crushed and peeled and chopped • A thumb size ginger, peeled and cut into matchsticks • One green chili, chopped them please • Two small apples, cut into wedges and cored (removed center seeds) • Two carrots, cut into sticks as well • 150 grams broccoli florets without the stalks • 300 grams (5 oz) noodles • One piece of lime, juiced THE PROCEDURE: • Heat vegetable oil on a wok over your American stove at high heat. Then add the pork and cook them for 6 to 8 minutes, until the turn brown in color. • Then quickly add the garlic, the ginger, the chili, the carrot and the broccoli florets and stir cook them constantly for four minutes. THE INGREDIENTS: • one pound pork tenderloin, cut into strips • one tablespoon of olive oil • two cups of Italian green beans, frozen, cut and thawed • One small white onion, cut into ½ wide wedges and separated • Six ounces of cremini, sliced or you can use the portabella mushrooms cut into half • One can (14 ½ ounces) of diced tomatoes, with basil, garlic and oregano (Pls. read can instructions for its ingredients) • Two teaspoons cornstarch • 1`/2 teaspoon sugar • ½ teaspoon salt • ½ teaspoon dried basil • One tube (16 ounces) refrigerated plain flavored polenta or yellow cornmeal, cut into 1/2 inch slices and quartered • Two tablespoons of parmesan cheese, please shred them • One tablespoon olive oil THE PROCEDURE: • Heat a wok at high heat over you American stove and pour one tablespoon of olive oil. Fry your pork for 3 to 5 minutes until they are no longer pink. Transfer the pork to a plate with a slotted spoon and cover the plate to keep warm. • The reheat the wok and add the beans to the pan. Fry them for one minute. • Push the beans aside in the skillet and add one tablespoon of oil in the center of the skillet. Add the onion and the mushrooms and fry all the vegetables for another 2 minutes. Remove them from the skillet to a plate and cover them to keep warm too. • Stir in together the tomatoes, the cornstarch, the sugar, the salt and basil and pour them to the skillet. Bring to a boil and add the polenta. Cook them stirring constantly over high heat for another one minute. • Then return all the other ingredients to the skillet and stir them constantly for another one minute more. • Transfer them to a shallow pasta serving bowl and sprinkle them with the cheese. • Serve immediately while hot with garlic bread.
