Those responsible for organizing retreats and planning high-level meetings seek out venue partners who can help facilitate destination experiences that are unique to the needs of their event and attendees. Each of these venues boast diverse offerings and provide opportunities to engage in a variety of ways that will help recharge, rejuvenate, and refresh. “A successful corporate retreat hinges on maximizing the return on your investment,” asserts John Hess, director of sales and marketing, Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, VA. “This involves ensuring that attendees strike a balance between relaxation and focus, enabling them to absorb information and provide valuable feedback. The choice of destination plays a crucial role in creating the ideal environment for such an endeavor.” Opting for a location that includes access to the outdoors, or that is set in a remote and tranquil setting, helps to set the stage for a productive retreat. “The

ambiance should be conducive to preparing travelers for a scenario where they can unwind, yet remain ready to actively participate. Offering healthy activities during downtime not only engages the creative side of the brain, but also encourages participation and sparks idea generation,” Hess adds. For many, escaping to the mountains provides a valuable opportunity to disconnect from day-to-day stresses and to clear one’s mind. Omni Homestead Resort, which was built on the foundation of wellness, caters to this need. From The Homestead Spa to the resort’s Warm Springs Pools – together with more than 40 available amenities - ample opportunities exist for guests who want to connect with nature or simply indulge in self-pampering. “All these elements collectively contribute to creating the right mental framework for discussing important even challenging – topics,” explains Hess. “This, in turn, ensures that the corporate planner or executive

Customizable meeting spaces accommodate various group sizes and preferences, as well. “We can integrate wellness activities into the itinerary, such as spa treatments, yoga sessions, and access to fitness facilities, to promote relaxation and rejuvenation,” notes Hess. “We will collaborate with the culinary team to create unique dining experiences, themed dinners, and catering options that align with the preferences and dietary requirements of the corporate group.” The resort’s team can design and facilitate team building activities that cater to the specific needs of the group, too, which can include outdoor adventures, problem-solving challenges, and collaborative exercises. “By fostering a collaborative relationship and offering a range of customizable options, The Omni Homestead can create memorable and effective retreat experi-

ences tailored to the unique needs of corporate planners and their teams,” Hess declares. The history of Renault Winery dates to 1864, where original founder, Louis Renault, planted his vines from France in Southern New Jersey. Today, Renault is one of the only wineries in the country that can call their sparkling wine Champagne. “All of our meeting rooms have plenty of natural light and outdoor elements, and are conveniently located in our hotel first floor,” says Meredith Dickinson, manager, business development, VIVÂMEE Hospitality, representing Renault Winery Resort. “At the end of a long meeting day, enjoy a winery tour and tasting. Then retreat to one of our historical private event rooms like our Speakeasy, Glass Museum, or Wine Makers Hall to enjoy a private dinner.” In addition to its unique venues, Renault also provides many breakout spaces ideal for cultivating new ideas for the team. “We feature a real Winter Village our Vintner Wonderland,” proclaims Dickinson, “where guests can enjoy hot cocoa or hot mulled wine around a fire pit, cabana, or in our Louie's Lounge that features a wine tasting Mid-AtlanticEvENtsMagazine 15

We also have an 18-hole National Golf Course that encircles our historic vineyards.” A tranquil resort that inspires because of its setting, but also its history, Renault aspires to cultivate the vision of its founder with the hope that it will serve as inspiration for group attendees. “We understand the importance of privacy,” notes Dickinson. “Our guests who seek this appreciate our attention to this detail. We also have two airports close by that offer private jets to fly in. Because we are a secluded resort, there is an added privacy factor.” “Unique is our specialty,” Dickinson adds. “We are a fully encompassed resort that offers a real unique experience... There isn't a resort like us anywhere nearby. We curate unique culinary experiences such as our Charcuterie 101 that teaches attendees about charcuterie and what pairs well with our wines. And unique harvest tours allow teams to pick and press our grapes. Our winery, golf, Vintner Wonderland, and unique experiences make us a desirable location for a retreat.” Woodloch, an award-winning, all-inclusive resort in the Pocono Mountains, is an easy drive-to destination for many throughout the region. A three-property resort, it offers options for nearly every group planning a retreat or group outing. 16 Januaryz February2024

We also have multi-functional meeting and dining rooms to host retreats that require meeting space or private dining. We host over 200 retreats every year and are fully equipped to handle any request.” When booking an event at Woodloch, meeting planners will benefit from the resort’s team of experienced individuals with whom they will get to work in planning their event. There is a Corporate Services Manager who works one-on-one with the meeting planner to coordinate the meeting, meals, and activities. “We listen to the needs of the group and offer suggestions that have worked well for past groups in order to help create that memorable experience,” says Butler. “We like to find out more about the demographics of the group and what they might like to do to in their free 18 Januaryz February2024

time, which can help us suggest the appropriate activity. We use our experience and successes to work personally with planners to curate the perfect event for their team.” “An ideal retreat destination provides an out-of-the-ordinary space where the group can gather away from the daily hustle of the office, unplug a little, and clear their minds for a common purpose without distractions,” observes Leigh Velez, regional sales manager, Pocono Mountains CVB. “The natural beauty of the Pocono Mountains provides a serene backdrop ideal for quiet reflection, team building, wellness, and uninterrupted project planning,” Velez adds. “Our location is drivable from many different major cities in the Northeastern U.S. which makes us a great, cost-effective, central meeting point if attendees are traveling from multiple locations.” “Working with planners to understand the goal of the retreat, we use our contacts and extensive knowledge of the region to assist in finding the perfect venue to achieve the specific vision that planners have in mind,”

From intimate corporate retreats to grand association conferences, every detail is attended to by expert meeting professionals. Throughout the resort’s 5,500-acres, a wide selection of team building activities will get the whole team laughing, playing, and excited to work together.

Velez continues. “We also help to identify unique local attractions, activities, restaurants, and more that will bring their team together and make for a memorable and impactful experience for everyone.” The ideal destination for a corporate retreat starts with a venue that can create a productive, yet memorable, experience for a team, asserts Ashlee Martinelli, regional director of sales and marketing, Hyatt Place Dewey Beach and the Lighthouse Cove Event Center in Dewey Beach, Delaware. The venue needs to center around the goals for the retreat, while also providing team bonding and team building experiences to bring a corporate team together and create lasting memories. “A venue that includes a one-stop shop for accommodations, meeting spaces, creative culinary options, and group activities makes an ideal host destination for a corporate retreat,” Martinelli adds. “The Hyatt Place Dewey Beach encourages a fun environment, perfect for corporate retreats. The property offers newly refreshed guest rooms along with multi-bedroom condominiums for overnight accommodations. beverage team creates unique experiences centered on a group’s interests and showcases the Delaware Beaches’ local fare.” Team bonding is important for a corporate retreat, Martinelli continues, “and the Hyatt Place Dewey Beach can create a fun experience. From calming sunrise beach yoga or a heart pumping outdoor spin class, we can start off the day with a wellness component. Next, you can host a lively sunset boat cruise on the Rehoboth Bay with your team and some famous Dewey Orange Crushes. End the day by a beach bonfire complete with custom s'mores kits. Our team can facilitate these and more opportunities to make your retreat a memorable experience.” The Hyatt Place Dewey Beach encourages meeting planners to visit the property to truly get a sense of what they can offer to a corporate group. Says Martinelli, “Our experienced team listens to what is important for a meeting, and offers suggestions based on successful events the hotel has hosted. We are able to assist a planner in offering a curated experience for any group.” “When selecting a host destination, you need to make sure the location is convenient for attendees,” advises Kim Mueller, director of sales, Town of Ocean City, Maryland. “It may seem a bit obvious, but the host destination should be able to accommodate your group size comfortably. Additionally, there should be flexibility in venue set up for both large sessions and smaller, 20 Januaryz February2024

breakout sessions. An ideal host destination also should have plenty to do, including restaurants, recreational activities, nightlife, and more to make sure attendees have an enjoyable time and have opportunities for team bonding.” The Roland E. Powell Convention Center caters to a variety of events and group sizes with its dynamic floor plans. For attendees’ free time, there are so many things to do in Ocean City - one of the most popular is enjoying the scenic, free 10-miles of pristine beaches and three-mile boardwalk. Attendees also can check out 17 premier golf courses, a national park, over 200 restaurants, and vibrant and varied nightlife in Ocean City. “We love to work with planners to understand their vision for the overall retreat experience and to make sure we can first offer the correct space and layout at Roland E. Powell Convention Center, and then make sure other activities - like a boat cruise or a welcome dinner - are set up seamlessly with our local partners,” Mueller notes. Each of these locales and venues serve as a terrific example of an ideal corporate retreat destination with much to offer both on-site and nearby. Bringing the group together through team building and recreation, providing opportunities for relaxation and rejuvenation, and creating memorable experiences will have a long-term positive impact on attendees moving forward.

Here, attendees can take in all that Peddler’s Village has to offer, from strolling the 42 beautiful acres, shopping in the 60-plus stores, or experiencing the culinary delights of our restaurants,” explains Brian Shields, director of sales for the property. “Depending on the time of the year, we can offer buyout opportunities, but many times it is not needed,” Shields adds. “The Golden Plough Inn has nine different buildings with rooms located throughout Peddler’s Village. Groups can take over one of the buildings during their stay and have a sense of privacy. Earl’s New American meeting space is perfect for a group of 50 attendees or less to be by themselves on the second floor.” 28 Januaryz February2024

“Hotel guests will enjoy upscale suites - and only suites - that are apartment-style accommodations with one-, two- and three-bedroom options,” Althaus continues. “Every suite has a fully-equipped kitchenette and several feature patios and bi-level lofts.” Many of the 62 suites offer views of the Delaware River, too, and hotel guests will enjoy immediate access to one of the city’s trendiest neighborhoods Fishtown. These accommodations provide guests with a luxurious stay while they enjoy opportunities for 24/7 gaming, which includes slots, table games, and the BetRivers Sportsbook. They also have access to on-site dining and entertainment at Rivers Casino, as well as all that the City of Brotherly Love has to offer. “The casino’s 22-acre waterfront property connects with The Battery via the Delaware Riverwalk, by way of picturesque Penn Treaty Park,” explains Althaus. “The two properties are a six-minute walk or a three-minute

ride apart. Rivers will run a complimentary 24/7 shuttle with 24/7 security, and will offer 24/7 complimentary valet parking.” Riversuites offers immediate proximity to the eight restaurants and bars at Rivers Casino, including the elegant Martorano’s Prime, an ItalianAmerican Steakhouse, Sicilian Slice for grab-and-go pizza, classic burgers and shakes from FLIPT, coffee and donuts from Dunkin,’ and more. “With Fishtown’s walkable streets and burgeoning cultural and culinary offerings, Riversuites guests will be just steps away from a growing inventory of trendy restaurants, coffee shops, craft brewhouses, distilleries, retail stores, galleries, and other recreation,” asserts Althaus. In addition to proximity to Fishtown, panoramic views, and affiliation with the casino itself, Riversuites boasts several other traditional and unconventional amenities, such as coworking areas, lobby gathering spaces, a billiards table, and even an indoor basketball court. Its upsized and upscale loft suites are ideal for hospitality entertaining, as well as family and group travel. “Our dedicated hotel team will ensure privacy and exclusivity for onsite events, and offers one-on-one planning to customize your event,” says Althaus. “Additionally, if there’s a special request that’s not already at the hotel or casino, we work with a plethora of vendors to fulfill any request. You ask, and Rivers Casino Philadelphia and Riversuites at The Battery deliver.”

The Otesaga Resort Hotel, located in the quaint, historic village of Cooperstown, NY

The Battery is a $154-million redevelopment initiative currently underway. The active phase includes 173 apartments, 135,000-square feet of office space, 100,000-square feet of event space, as well as the Riversuites hotel. Formerly the site of a PECO power plant, its eight 167-foot-tall chimneys remain as historic architectural elements at The Battery. The original venue was designed in beaux-arts classical revival style by famed turn-of-the-century Philly architect John Windrim, whose prolific portfolio also includes The Franklin Institute, Philadelphia Municipal Court, and the provost’s residence at Penn. “We greatly value corporate retreats and have seen an increase in business with our clients appreciating our unique settings and offerings,” observes Chris Mulvihill, chief marketing officer at Crystal Springs Resort in Hamburg, New Jersey. “Given the current hybrid employment scenario, companies have prioritized the importance of re-engaging their teams. We’ve noticed retreats and meetings are now a day or two longer vs. pre-COVID, thus allowing their guests to have more free time, as well. The key to success is balance, and we certainly offer both business and pleasure at Crystal Springs Resort.” Nestled in the picturesque mountains of northwestern New Jersey, Crystal Springs Resort is the Northeast's largest solar powered resort - and an ideal destination for corporate retreats. Whether for an intimate event or larger group gathering, the property boasts inspiring settings in nature that provide the opportunity for teams to reengage and rejuvenate.

“Groups can enjoy luxurious accommodations at their choice of two stylish hotels, over 100,000-square feet of unique and flexible indoor and outdoor meeting space, extraordinary dining options, innovative team building, wellness and group activities, and warm hospitality,” asserts Mulvihill. “The resort’s collection of world-class amenities is unparalleled, and boasts 10 seasonally-inspired dining venues highlighted by FourStar Restaurant Latour and its world-famous Wine Spectator Grand Award-winning wine cellar.” The property also is home to an array of culinary events, including the internationally recognized New Jersey Wine and Food Festival. It features two full-service luxury day spas - Reflections and Elements - providing rejuvenating relaxation, the newly renovated, state-of-the-art Minerals Sports Club, multiple indoor and outdoor swimming pools (including the tropical Biosphere Pool Complex), plus six championship caliber golf courses, highlighted by Ballyowen, the state's top public course (Golf Week, Golf Advisor, New Jersey Monthly). “As the Northeast’s leading golf destination, the lush fairways and pristine greens of Crystal Springs Resort are an undeniable golfers’ paradise,” proclaims Mulvihill. In addition, Crystal Springs Resort is proud of its initiatives that call eco-conscious travelers and group participants to the New Jersey countryside as sustainable travel has grown in popularity. The resort is committed to initiatives of sustainability and environmental stewardship across its various venues.

For example, Crystal Springs has the largest resortbased solar farm in the Northeast. It comprises 19,000 solar panels on 25-acres, generating 3.5-megawatts annually. This output is greater than the combined power consumption of the resort’s two hotels. The resort offers sustainability-themed team building and group activity programs, too, such as Solar Farm Education, Bee Hive Box Build, Foraging with the Botanical Hiker, Food Preservation Workshops and more. Through offerings such as its Harvest Trail package, Crystal Springs also encourages guests to patronize local businesses, including farms, markets, orchards, wineries, breweries, cider houses and distilleries of the scenic Sussex Skylands and the Warwick Valley Black Dirt Region. “Crystal Springs Resort collaborates with neighboring growers and producers, yielding over 200 locally sourced ingredients incorporated into its menus across all its restaurants,” explains Mulvihill. “There's also a kitchen waste management program designed to utilize peels, trimmings, and bones in creative and flavorful ways, resulting in stocks, cures, and fermentations. Additionally, culinary leadership regularly undertakes a dedicated monitoring of inventory, food use levels, daily consumption, and recipe management.” The resort’s on-site culinary offerings include options from casual to elegant, as well as ethnic and themed menus. Guests can savor the flavors of locally grown and produced cuisine with a myriad of tantalizing choices. “A dining experience at Crystal Springs will make for delicious memories,” promises Mulvihill. Crystal Springs Resort has formed a partnership with Jersey Central Power and Light along with the New Jersey Audubon Society to create the Black Bear Pollinator Corridor, which is a habitat for bees, butterflies, and birds on one of its six golf courses. The resort has a membership on the New Jersey Audubon Corporate Stewardship Council, as well, which emphasizes voluntary environmental stewardship, sustainability, habitat conservation partnerships, and public education. Finally, the resort recently introduced several new and renovated spaces. The Canyon Ballroom is an expan-

sive space that serves as a luxurious meeting and banquet venue for large-scale gatherings, trade shows and exhibitions. Another new offering ideal for larger groups is its Big Sky Pavilion, a luxurious multi-purpose seasonal space with scenic views of the surrounding mountain landscape. While on-site, each group is assigned a dedicated event planner who works together with the organization on all the details throughout the planning process from start to finish. “Crystal Springs Resort offers the most comprehensive team building and group activities program in the Northeast,” proclaims Mulvihill. “With our curated Inspiration Series, teams can participate in tactile experiences such as goat yoga, cooking with locally foraged ingredients, restorative yoga, sound bowl healing, meditation, and rock climbing in a beautiful bucolic mountain setting.” Team building opportunities at Crystal Springs include Hiking with Goats - a natural way to bond with both the goats and peers, while enjoying the three-mile nature trail on property at Grand Cascades Lodge. This also makes for a great photo op of participants with the goats. Sun Gazing & Solar Education features viewings of solar flares, safely made visible with specialized equipment, learning about sundials, solar power generation, as well as Crystal Springs’ solar farm. Alternatively, enjoy a Wine Education Class - an informative and entertaining two-hour session with one of the resort’s renowned sommeliers, featuring wines from its world-class 45,000 bottle Wine Cellar. Learn about top grape varietals, wine regions, styles of wine, the basics of pairing wines with food, and enjoying tastings, as well. With so much to offer, properties such as these present an array of options and opportunities to those seeking to add something unique or special as part of their next meeting or event. Whether in search of something upscale, intimate, or that truly breaks the mold, planners will find everything they are looking for and more at such one-of-a-kind venues throughout the region. WINERIES & BREWE

48 Januaryz February2024

ERIES FOR EVENTS For planners in search of somewhere fun and different to take their attendees for their next event or group outing, several wineries and breweries throughout the region offer everything from tours to tastings with indoor and outdoor spaces from wine cellars to biergartens. Mid-AtlanticEvENtsMagazine 49

The Inn at Grace Winery is home to a variety of spaces for groups from 5 to 150 people. Overnight accommodations, options for custom menus, wine tours, wine tastings, "meet the animals" experiences, bonfires, and dinner in their wine cellar or manor house are just some of the on-site offerings

Here is a sampling of venues available in the region that can host groups, lift spirits, and provide ample opportunities to enjoy fun and informative sessions. On the first Saturday of each month, Tranquility Brewing at The Fuge hosts Bourbon Tastings that feature select flights of their PA Bourbons, Whiskeys and Ryes. “We feature several tastings and pairings throughout the year that include pairings with our beers and Girl Scout Cookies, called Savory & Sweets,” notes Gene Blum, director of operations, The Fuge. “In addition, we also feature several events throughout the year, including a Beer, Bourbon, BBQ & Blues Fest, a Luau, and Oktoberfest. We offer live acoustic solo performances every weekend in Tranquility Brewing, as well as larger bands in the studio every Friday.” The Bucks County venue located in Warminster, PA offers a full pub menu for dinner and a weekend brunch that starts at 10:00 AM. “On-site we have a courtyard that holds 100-plus, our indoor brewery, which accommodates over 80, a private room that holds 15, our adjacent first floor venue (The Lab), which has a capacity of 50 to 100 for private events, the Studio Venue for 100 to 175 people, and The Fuge is available for 150 to 800 attendees seated,” notes Blum. Both the brewery and courtyard are dog friendly, as well. Outside food 50 Januaryz February2024

and beverage is not permitted, however, celebration cakes are allowed. “We are a historic venue that once was a secret military establishment, which holds the world’s largest human centrifuge,” Blum explains. “It was the training facility for the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo astronauts. The Fuge and artifacts are still on-site, and The Fuge room features a state-of-the-art light and sound system, along with two 39-foot video screens.” Another Bucks County offering, Sand Castle Winery in Erwinna, PA features full tastings where attendees can sample all 12 of the winery’s estate-grown wines. “Our tastings are an hour long and are a fun experience for everyone,” declares Sam Tiedeken, tasting room and events manager, Sand Castle Winery. “We offer tours from the spring to the fall where you get to see our cellar and our grounds and learn about the history of the winery and how we started.” The property also hosts many different events, from comedy shows to food and wine pairing classes. events are typically limited to the Alamo Room, but the entire facility can be made available. We also have on-site parking.”

Castle Winery hosts all kinds of private events, as well, with an indoor space that overlooks the Delaware River and their vineyard with the use of a balcony. “Our smaller event space can hold up to 80 guests. For larger events, our seasonal tented pavilion (April to October) overlooks the river and the vineyards, and can accommodate up to 200 guests,” notes Tiedeken. “We are a fully-operating vineyard with 24-acres of planted vines,” says Tiedeken. “We sit high up on the hills and overlook beautiful Bucks County with a 15mile view. When you visit the Castle, you feel like you are transported to the European countryside.” Wilmington Brew Works offers a number of unique opportunities, depending on the size of the group. These can include a guided flight tasting with the on-site Brewer, team building through tournaments such as cornhole, and even opportunities to be “Brewer for a Day.” “Small groups can work in our production space with our brewing team to create a specially labeled beer for their company or event,” asserts John Fusco, VP creative and brand marketing, Wilmington Brew Works in Wilmington, DE. “Our private event space, The Alamo Room, has a capacity of 86, with a semi-private outdoor patio attached,” Fusco continues. “Our Taproom space has a capacity of 91, and we have three additional outdoor spaces, including a relaxing beer garden. Most private 52 Januaryz February2024

Because there is not a kitchen on-site, the property is an a la cart facility. Due to their licensing as a Delaware Craft Brewery, Wilmington Brew Works does not offer a full bar, but they are permitted to carry alcoholic products made by other Delaware Craft Alcohol Producers, so they are able to offer limited Wine and Spirits. Outside alcohol is not permitted. “The Alamo Room at Wilmington Brew Works is a 105year-old Spanish Mission-style building that was a former chemical research laboratory. Since opening in 2018, our Taproom has become a community hub, hosting all kinds of public and private events,” says Fusco. “Paired with our award-winning Craft Beer and Cider, it is hard to not have a great time here.” “Our history dates back to 1864, where our original founder, Louis Renault planted his vines from France,” explains Meredith Dickinson, manager, business development, VIVÂMEE Hospitality representing Renault Winery Resort in Egg Harbor, NJ. “We are one of the only wineries in the country that can call our sparkling wine Champagne.” While best known for their Blueberry Champagne and Port Wine, they offer 14 other wines, as well. “We curate unique culinary experiences, such as our Charcuterie 101 where guests can learn more about charcuterie and what pairs well with our wines,” explains Dickinson. “Our unique harvest tours allow your team to pick and press our grapes.” Renault offers various spaces and opportunities for group events, which could include a firepit social, re-

laxing in a cabana, or enjoying lunch in the resort’s courtyard or vineyards. The winery also features several private event rooms and even a winter village - Vintner Wonderland - which is available for private events. Louie's Lounge boasts a wine tasting bar, and the resort is home to an 18-hole golf course, too. These are just a few examples of the spirited venues available throughout the region that present planners the opportunity to tour, taste, unwind, and dine. In settings from bucolic to historic, each provides unique surroundings as distinct and delightful as the craft flavors and various vintages they offer.

Landshark Bar & Grille, part of Resorts Atlantic City Casino Resort in Atlantic City, NJ

Aptly known as the Garden State, New Jersey is home to 806,000-acres of farmland, vineyards, and orchards. Farming is tied to the state’s beginning, and agriculture continues to be one of the state’s biggest industries - one of the reasons why it is a great destination for farm-to-table dining. The state also has thriving viticultural regions, with over 50 licensed wineries producing award-winning varietals that continue to gain recognition from critics. This artisanal spirit extends to the state’s burgeoning beer scene, with craft breweries offering visitors a taste of local flavor.

54 Januaryz February2024

New Jersey is home to 36 state parks and 11 state forests with a wide network of hiking trails revealing picturesque mountains, waterfalls, and other natural treasures. In the winter, the state’s nearby ski and snow-sport areas deliver outdoor adventure and mountain getaways, like Mountain Creek that is less than 50-miles from the George Washington Bridge. In the summer, opportunities to soak up the sun are not limited to the shore, with the state also offering lakes and rivers for outdoor recreation. Museums here span a range of topics, including the Aviation Hall of Fame, Heritage Glass Museum, Thomas A. Edison Memorial Museum, the Liberty Science Center, and the Princeton University Art Museum, which houses one of the largest academic collections in the U.S. The state also played a crucial role in The American Revolution. Sites such as the 33-acre Fort Lee Historic Park and Visitor Center in Fort Lee, Monmouth Battlefield State Park in Manalapan, and the Hancock House in Hancock’s Bridge, each provide an interactive glimpse into the state’s history. Having debuted this fall, the “Little State, Lotta Wow” marketing initiative by New Jersey Division of Travel and Tourism (NJTT) is designed to spotlight the abundant number of top-notch tourism offerings available in New Jersey often considered a geographically small state, but one that is certainly big on personality. “Through our ads, consumers will definitely be wowed by an exciting, multimedia experience that features such destinations as Washington Crossing State Park, Cape May, American Dream, and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, just to name a few,” says executive director of NJTT, Jeff Vasser. “From New Jersey’s award-winning restaurants to a host of outdoor field and snow excursions, travelers will get a glimpse into new, perhaps never-before-considered ways to explore the state this season.”

The on-site solar field is comprised of 19,000 solar panels generating 3.5 megawatts annually, an output greater than the combined annual power consumption of the Resort’s two hotels. “Our mission is to become the region’s most sustainable choice for getaways and group gatherings” said Chris Mulvihill, Chief Marketing Officer of Crystal Springs Resort. “In addition to the solar field, pollinator corridor and bog turtle initiatives, we have done a lot to incorporate themes of sustainability, nature, wellness, and local agriculture support into our programming for the benefit of our guests”. “Companies hosting offsite meetings here can enhance their event with team-building activities such as sustainable farm tours, hiking with a botanist who identifies edible native plants, and learning about beekeeping and building bee boxes that can support the fragile bee population. While we recognize the primary purpose of a company’s offsite gathering may be to conduct business meetings, it never hurts to enhance an event with additional experiences that can give attendees a connection with nature and inspire them to be better stewards of the environment”, said Mulvihill. www.crystalgolfresort.com/meetings
