Itseemshardtobelieve,butweare officiallytendaysintoSpring2024!With thechangeoftheseasoncomeschange hereatMidwestDairy.March29th isMolly Pelzer’sofficiallastdayasMidwestDairy CEO,andwecongratulateandthankher foroverthreedecadesofservicetothe dairyfamiliesoftheMidwest.
I'mexcitedtobesteppingintoan organizationwithadeeplegacyof collaborationtobuildtrustindairyand,I willbeintentionaltothoughtfullycontinue thatlegacywithanenterprisingeyetothe future.
IwouldliketotaketimetothankthosewhoparticipatedinMidwestDairy’sfourthannual FarmerSurveyinNovemberof2023.Thedatagatheredfromthesurveyiscrucialtogive staffinsightsonhowtoimprovethewayMidwestDairysharesstoriesshowcasingthe valueofyourcheckoffinvestmentandcheckoff’swork,alongwiththeentirefederation,to drivedairysalesandbuildtrust.MidwestDairywaspleasedtoreceive557responses, whichisupfrom499responsesin2022.
Afterreadingfarmersurveyresponses,afewthingsstoodouttome.Thesurveyshowed farmersarehighlyalignedwithMidwestDairy’sgoalsandbusinessobjectives,with95 percentofrespondentsbelievingthatincreasingdairysalesandgrowingtrustare important.Thisexcitesmeaswekickoffanewstrategicplanin2024thatwillstill prioritizethetrust,sales,research,anddevelopingfarmerleadercategories. Respondentsalsoindicatedthedesireformoreconcise,in-personopportunitiesand directcontactwithcheckoffstaff.Thisfeedbackisimportantandarequestyouwillsee conveyedintoactionin2024.Again,MidwestDairyisgratefulforthefeedbackprovided bydairyfarmerswhoreplied,thankyouformakingyourvoiceheard.
