Cruisin’ into Phase III

JIM WEICHERDING Time to fill up the gas tanks and head out on the road everyone!

I know. It’s been a tough start to the 2020 Cruisin’ season and June only saw a few sporadic classic car shows and cruise nights pop up here and there across the state of Rhode Island. But, that was during the state’s Phase ll re-opening.

Due to the pandemic, we are still dealing with unwanted hardships here, and across America. Now, we are in Phase lll and that opens a lot of garage doors that have been closed for quite some time. I’m happy to write an article about what’s coming for us automotive enthusiasts and car guy/gal showcase events around the next bend or driving over that last “bump-in-theroad” as some might say.

We are now allowed to have larger gatherings and that means more car shows and cruise nights are starting to happen again for the new 2020 Cruisin’ season and fortunately, it’s only July. By my calendar, we still have four more months of classic car shows and cruise nights ahead of us.

There is only one catch... follow safe distancing guidelines and wear a face covering when you are out in public and surrounded by other people. This virus is not gone. It’s still here with us. We might be in a better place than we were in during Phase l and Phase ll of the state’s re-opening, but we are not out of the woods by a long shot. People are passing away daily because of this virus and we need to keep those around us safe and healthy.

That should be a rule of thumb anyway, and almost everyone reading this article that attends classic car and truck shows and cruise nights here in Rhode Island and across the region, knows me personally, and I’m all about keeping kids and families safer and healthier in their daily lives regardless of the virus.

It’s a great thing that the Phase lll re-opening is now underway and we can begin to attend more weekly cruise nights and annual classic car and truck shows on the weekends but we must use caution and follow the rules. Bending these rules will only send us back to the beginning and then where will we be? We will be right back where we were in the months of March and April. Going nowhere real fast. None of us wants that to happen and I’m certain none of us wants to be the reason why someone becomes sick, or even dies, because we couldn’t do something as important as keeping our distance and wearing a face covering when around other people.

I’m looking forward to seeing everyone at the summer and fall season classic car and truck shows and cruise nights again starting this month and hope everyone stays safe and healthy in the process. Our primary goal is to keep moving ahead, not turn around and go backwards. I’m sure that is the last thing any of us wants to see happen. We don’t want our rides parked in our garages and our butts parked on the couch, or recliner.

Keep safe distancing on your mind and keep a protective covering on your face. If we all accomplish this, then moving ahead will become a reality. We still have four good months to enjoy our hobby and automotive events.

How I Can Help You or Somebody You Know I hope everyone is doing well during these new times we are living in. Are you or anybody you know feeling stressed? We all have different levels of stress in our lives. I provide i ndividual counseling for adults and kids. Currently I am offering free counseling (for a limited time only, so be sure to call).

If you or anyone you know has anxiety, depression, OCD issues, etc, I can help. If you are a loved one or friend of somebody that has a mental health issue, I can help. I tell my clients, I can be their source of therapy, or I can be a supplement to the therapy that they are already receiving. In an effort to get that second opinion. Additionally, to find new ways to take steps to move forward in the right direction. My knowledge is based on research. As well as my own personal experiences. Plus, results of trial-and-error.

It is important to find ways to help yourself without relying on any medication. Or relying on the things and people that we tend to depend on. Other areas I offer help in are: to assist in promoting your business and how to bring in more revenue.

If you cannot afford an attorney, I can serve as an advocate or mediator.

I provide story time sessions to children in day cares & preschools. It is good for kids to see a new face in front of the classroom. Lastly, I provide motivational speeches for schools and businesses. The more motivated we are, the better results will be.

Help with Losing Weight & Quiting Smoking What is the mind trick that can help with quitting smoking, losing weight, and helping with your overall mental health? How about drinking and other habits? All of the above things can be very challenging. It is hard to meet with success. See below section for quick tips.

Some Quick Tips There are positive & negative energies all around us. It is more beneficial for us to recognize & work with the positive ones. More details can be shared during a speech or at an appointment.

We have goals for ourselves and things we want. For example, we may want to lose weight. One ti p for losing weight is to be a happier person. When we are happier, losing weight becomes easier to do.

Actually, everything becomes easier to do when we are in a happier state of mind.

As for exercise, and getting motivated to exercise. Take a walk with a friend as usually more walking will get done. You can walk and talk and the time goes by quicker.

As for stress, we all have stress in our lives. As well as stress at work. Whether we earn minimum wage or six figures, there will always be stressful events at work. I can teach you how to lessen some of that stress.

Everyone worries and thinks ahead. We may think of “what ifs” or fear the worse case scenario. Although, research shows that 85% of what we worry about does not happen.

Miscellaneous & What is New With Me Appointments can be over the phone or in person. I am available seven days a week and have flexible scheduling. My prices

are affordable, and can be shared over the phone. Individual & group sessions are the same price. Furthermore, I have no cancellation fees, because this would be considered a negative energy.

There are many effective therapists & social workers. However, sometimes due to health insurance barriers and full schedules on the doctors end, extra visits cannot occur. My theory is that stressful situatons come up and a person may need an appt with his/her therapist asap. Usually this cannot occur and the person is seen 10 days later or more. By that time the stressful event may be resolved or partially over with. This is one reason why I choose to schedule same day and next day appointments.

THUNDERBIRD 35TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION

By ROB MAY 1990 marked the 35th Anniversary of the first Ford Thunderbird rolling out of the factory. This special edition black leather with grey suede center bolstered seats inside with a black and silver anniversary paint exterior T-bird makes its den in Los Alamos, NM with its owner, Lenus Duplechain (Butch). He is married to Kim, and they have 2 boys, Dayton (13) and Gideon (9). Butch works at Los Alamos National Laboratory as a quality engineer.

“My dad made me a Ford guy. As a kid we always cheered for anything Ford.

My first vehicle was his 1986 Ford F150 he passed down to me. Then I had a 1993 Thunderbird which I traded for a 1996 Thunderbird. Fast forward to now, my commute to the Laboratory is only 5 miles, and I figured why pay $600 a month for a truck when I could get something fun. I had a Victory motorcycle that my wife was always scared of. One day, she saw a guy get in a bad wreak on a bike in front of her at the same time I found a 29,000 mile 1990 35th Anniversary Super Coupe on ebay. She came home and asked if I would please get rid of the motorcycle. I said ‘ok’ but want to replace it with this T-Bird.” A deal was struck, but wait, someone bought it before Butch could get to it. “However, I reached out to the seller, and luckily enough, the buyer couldn’t pay!” Butch finally secured his Bird as it was just meant to be.

He struggled with the fact that this car survived 30 years in its original condition while wanting to make the car in his style. “I reached out on Facebook to some Thunderbird groups to ask the question: preserve it completely stock, or enjoy it like it was meant to me. Expecting the overwhelming response to keep it stock, but was shocked when almost everyone said make it like you want and enjoy it, so I did.”

A 3.8L Supercharged V6 with AOD transmission moves the T-Bird down the road. Most 35th Anniversary Editions are very similar, but this one has the JBL stereo system with CD player for a cool $1,322 (as an original option) that equates to $2,610 today. This Bird also has a factory sunroof with auto transmission. “I have tried to make modifications that would not hurt the integrity of the car or the reliability of it.” He began with a K&N air filter, 76MM MAF, and 7% overdrive supercharger pulley. Then Butch wanted to give the car a 90s vibe therefore added some BBS style 18” rims wrapped in some W rated rubber. Wanting more, he found some Kooks headers, cat back exhaust, and switched out the 3.27s to some 3.73 gears to get the heavy Bird moving. “I also have improved on the audio tremendously from

the factory JBL radio by adding custom A-pillar tweeter and mid-pods, 6.75” CDT mid-bass in the doors, 2 12” image dynamics IDMAX subs with 3 Planet audio Tube amplifiers.”

One of the most unique features of this 30 year-old car is definitely the mileage and condition. “Part of the fun of this car is it only has 29,000 miles and is also now my daily driver. Without any worry, due to the 5 mile commute to work, she will stay low mileage for a long time. The ride is automatic or firm (I keep it on firm), and it is very comfortable and surprisingly quiet for the age of the car.” Butch has not had a chance to show it yet as he just received it in February and due to the Corona shutting everything down.

However, as soon as possible, this Ford Thunderbird will be front and center!

PROJECT ORANGE FURY HITTING THE DRAGSTRIP WITH NEW FOUND POWER

By ED YESSAIAN As I sit here writing this update on Project Orange Fury, I ponder a sense of guilt for giving Motorhead owner Lou Cicerone such a hard time as he relays his new personal bests at each track session with this car. My replies are usually something to the sense of “I already did that years ago in my 2013 5.0” or “No one is impressed with that”. While the majority of my ribbing is in good fun, I have accomplished what I set out to do, motivate our favorite little Cherub to attain an 11 second pass in a practically stock 5.0 Coyote car.

When I say this car is practically stock, I mean it. A cold air kit and a Lund tune. Pretty common first modifications for any Coyote car and also reasonably priced. There are a series of tunes including 93 tune, E85 tune, and Flex Fuel tune. Surprisingly, the best passes came from the Flex Fuel tune. The E85 tune produced a 12.1 @ 118 mph on street tires, which admittedly isn’t bad considering traction issues and the complications of launching an IRS car. But I sent our buddy Lou back to the drawing board and I’m glad I did.

On a reasonably cool June morning Lou experimented with the tunes again and decided to let it fly on the Flex Fuel tune, which responded the best to the current track conditions. Hot lapping produced unlimited 12 second slips but after a significant cool down the car surprised us with an 11.90 @ 120mph. This was on street tires, so obviously with a drag radial this car could leave quite a bit harder and maybe even hit low 11’s. Now that might require our buddy Lou to hand over the keys to yours truly, but I’m just saying the potential is there.

I have to admit, I wasn’t too involved in the original Project Orange Fury series, but with the next set of modifications coming, it has certainly gained my interest. Stay tuned Motorheads, I’m not stopping until we have a “bolt-on only” 10 second car.

1980 Cat from MI

Making its den in Clinton Township Michigan, this 1980 Mercury Cougar XR-7 will turn 40 in 2020! The Cat’s owner, Anthony Segar, is currently a machine operator at CPAC making parts for the big 3.

“This Cougar is actually my first car, my dad got it for me as a graduation present.” They have been making the Mercury roadworthy and upgrading it from its stock form.

The 1980 Cougar was purchased in the summer of 2016 from a guy who thought it was too small. “My dad saw it, noticed the low miles (at that time the mileage was 52,645), and was 22| Motorhead Magazine - July 2020

about the Cat and its potential. “The condition of the Cougar upon buying it was a little rough mechanically, but now it’s running like a champ and sounds mean with the custom dual flow master exhaust system.”

Upgrades include a complete overhaul of the vacuum system, all new car speakers from Harmon Kardon, top of the line JVC stereo, and new amplifier. Additionally, a custom flow master exhaust was installed and carburetor rebuilt. Added were an all new alternator, starter, power antenna, digital dash, auto headlamps, and power locks. An 8.8 1987 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe rear axle for rear disc brakes was installed, turbine rims from a Mustang mounted, and all new suspension and coil springs as well. “All work was mainly done by my dad and I, besides the suspension which was done F Crane Alinement.”

The Cougar is now driven daily. “This car is amazing to drive, and I love every minute of it. The Mercury handles well, accelerates amazingly with the stock 2-barrel carb, corners great, and overall has a wonderful sporty-luxury vibe.”

They loved all of the cool cars and trucks and they made many friends that they would meet up with week after week just like we all did.

Attending classic car shows and cruise nights is not just about the vehicles.

How to Prepare for an Appraisal

Covid-19, or the corona virus, is not slowing down but life is starting to return to a shadow of what “normal� once was. With that swing back to life, car shows and cruise-ins are starting back up. They are an excellent way for us to support a lot of the small businesses that hold them on a weekly basis and your car should be ready to go with the extra long off season! With repairs and upgrades all done, grab your bottle of Mother’s and a shammy and cruise on over.

This last weekend we attended the show at Dreamwork’s Muscle Cars and Classics in Manchester, NH a great new restoration shop that the owner has spun off his existing business, and the place was packed!

With the Dreamwork’s team handing out free food for everyone and NH Muscle Cars doing the trophies it was busy!

We are a sponsor for the NH Muscle Car Club and with over 3800 members they are growing quickly and its easy to see why, every show has different components, a cruise, a car show, trophies and vendors, they have club sponsors like us and membership is easy to obtain, check them out on Facebook. While attending as a sponsor we had several people approach us about appraisals, many ask the same questions, “do I need an appraisal� and “how do I prepare for an appraisal?�

Let me answer both for you: 1. “Do I need an appraisal?� We wrote on this a couple of months ago and the advice stays true: if you’ve never had an appraisal you need one, it is the documentation you need to prove the true value for your car. If you have had an appraisal done and it is over a year old or you have done upgrades, you need to update it, before the possible downturn in values.

We appraise classics, street rods, hot rods, muscle cars, modern modified muscle, and foreign cars. We have discounted all appraisals to help during this pandemic.

2. “How do I prepare for an appraisal?�: Appraisers like myself are human, and while we do our best to stay 100% neutral the facts are we still have cars we love and admire and some that were neutral on.

The keys to making sure you get the best appraisal is easy: a. Gather your documentation, anything you have for upgrades, ownership, restoration bills, special reports, auction paperwork, whatever applies to your situation. I would even take time to write out anything you’ve done that you don’t have receipts for, more often then not my customers list these items off and I can only take notes so fast, so they have to back up and 26| Motorhead Magazine - July 2020

something gets missed. Get your documentation ready to go before your appointment. b. Run it! Before the appraiser comes go out and run your car, start it up, check leaks, lights turn signals and any other detail that’s specific to your car, for example, put the convertible top up and down, make sure the air ride is working etc. It is never a good sign for the appraiser if the car will not start or components do not function! đ&#x;˜Š c. Finally, CLEAN your car! I am sorry to say but it is so hard to tell the condition of your vehicle if it has not been cleaned! Vacuum the carpets, wipe down the exterior, clean the interior, it doesn’t need to be a show car but overall condition is exactly what we are looking at and basing value off of!

Zoe’s Hot Rod Wagon Restora�on

By ZOE VALENTINA In last month’s issue, during my official introduction to Motorhead Magazine, I mentioned a little project I had going on that consisted of a custom Radio Flyer Wagon. What started out as my Dad’s quest to find something cool to drag me around car shows with, turned into a month long, full blown restoration project. I wouldn’t expect any less from my Dad because he simply cannot leave anything alone. His original plan was to grab an old wagon, jack it up, bolt on some oversized tires, and paint it pink. In theory, that would have been a cool means of transporting

me around but once my Dad gets going, the simplest of ideas gets blown so ridiculously out of proportion that my Mom has given up wondering when will it end.

In my Dad’s defense, this particular project took an incredible turn in the right direction after he posted on social media, asking if anyone had any ideas for a custom wagon. As mentioned in last month’s issue, the one and only Mr. Muscle Car Nick Cincotti stepped right up with a “donor car” that was like nothing I had ever seen before and had the potential to be a masterpiece worthy of carrying yours truly around. The only stipulation was that the finished product had to be good enough to sit amongst Cincotti’s World of Wheels display for the Beantown Burners Muscle Car Club. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!!!

The Wagon stayed “as is” for about a week, with countless enthusiasts stopping to check it out during our nightly walks. The original patina could have been left alone but my Dad was determined to make it a one of a kind ride for me and the end result truly accomplished that. The Wagon’s first stop was Stoneham Ford’s Collision Center where it was completely torn down to the last nut and bolt. The parts and hardware were delivered to Markarian Sign Co. in Wakefield, MA where Chris Markarian sandblasted and sealed each and every piece, to prepare them for their sparkling new life.

Once it got back to Stoneham Ford’s Collision Center, technicians Tabby Rosario and Glen Hart prepped the individual components before handing them over to refinishing technician John Sousa. John contacted Kemperle Automotive finishes to donate the products he needed including

Ford’s Tuxedo Black Metallic for the frame pieces and a custom Pink pearl Metallic for the all the hardware, tub, and wheels. The wheels themselves were donated by Derrick Charter and are a staggered fitment with 6-inch diameter in the rear with a wider tire and a 5-inch in the front to deliver an awesome stance. The custom Bomber seat came with the wagon originally but was restored and sealed, as were the side exhaust tips. Finishing off the Hot rod look is a custom sheet metal spoiler bolted to the back which really helps the wagon stand out from the crowd.

Dave DeRose’s Pontiac GTO

By XANDER YESSAIAN If you’ve been a fan of Motorhead Magazine for a while, then you’ve come to know my Dad, Ed Yessaian primarily as a Mustang guy and that’s cool.

But every once in a while, he goes on a temporary kick involving Pontiac GTO’s. I was never quite sure what sparks these obsessions, until I myself recently encountered one of the nicest ones in our area, literally right in our backyard. Our story begins with our new neighbor, a very nice lady, who had mentioned that she had a son with an “older car” that she thought was beautiful. Well, beautiful doesn’t even begin to describe the immaculate masterpiece of Dave DeRose.

glorious rumble in the street turned out to be one of the most incredible Muscle Cars I have ever seen. My dad and I quickly headed outside to check it out but it wasn’t until recently that we got a full-blown tour, inside and out, to see the extent of this phenomenal beast.

It took my Dad quite a while to walk around the car and marvel at its impeccable condition. We later learned that Dave has actually had this car over 35 years, since he was just fifteen years old and the same “love at first site” feeling he had back then still burns strong every time he opens the garage door these days. Even more so since it has been restored to a level that some people can only dream of. Inside and out not a single part was left untouched, including the drivetrain, which was built for both speed and comfort.

The heart and soul of the car is a 468ci big block Chevy engine with AFR aluminum heads, Crane roller cam, Edelbrock intake, and a Holley 750 carburetor. Hooker headers send the exhaust fumes through a custom 3-inch system that sings through Magnaflow mufflers before being dismissed out the tailpipes. The combination is good for close to 600hp and is managed through a 5-speed Tremec TKO600 that is paddled with a Hurst shifter. Out back a Currie 9 inch with 3.55 gears puts the power to the ground.

tubular suspension components and Hotchkis front and rear sway bars.

All four corners house an updated disc brake setup, hidden behind 17 inch Pontiac replica wheels that are staggered for an aggressive look that fits the lines of the car perfectly. And speaking of lines, panels on this car are straight as an arrow with black paint that is so deep you would swear it was still wet. Dave was quick to mention that the refinishing and final buffing was done by the late Mike Palato. Mike was a Muscle Car enthusiast himself and is responsible for quite a few of the

Inside the cockpit Columbia Seat Cover handled the refreshing of the seats and trim and once again, they knocked it out of the park.

Knowing the level of quality that went into this build, it was really generous of Dave to let a 3-year-old magazine writer explore his pride and joy, inside and out. Obviously, I have been highly trained to be extremely careful but still, it was an honor and privilege to be allowed behind the wheel of this beauty. Prior to this experience I never understood how my Dad could go back and forth between late model Mustangs and classic GTO’s but they are completely different animals, both to be appreciated in their own way.

And then again who knows, with my Dad’s reputation for impulsively bringing home random vehicles constanly, I may just end up with a GTO myself someday.

ECONN MOTORSPORTS AND THOMPSON SPEEDWAY MOTORSPORTS PARK ANNOUNCE 2020 OVAL TRACK PLANS

By TERRY EAMES THOMPSON SPEEDWAY MOTORSPORTS PARK Econn Motorsports and Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park announced today an agreement that will enable oval track racing to continue on the famed 5/8th mile at Thompson CT. A tentative 2020 schedule has been developed with the first event being an open practice on Wednesday July 8th.

Plans currently call for Econn Motorsports to also host an open practice on Wednesday August 5th. Racing is set to resume with the Bud 150 on Wednesday August 19th and the Sunoco World Series on October 9-11. The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour is expected to headline both race dates. The parties are exploring the possibility of additional race meets during 2020.

“I didn’t always have a thing for cars, but some circumstances that lead to me moving to a new city left me no choice but to pick up a hobby. I started going to little car meets throughout the city, learning and picking up on things from guys in the hobby.” At 15 years old, Cameron knew he wanted a classic car before graduating high school. For nearly two years, he sifted through the classifieds and stumbled upon this Cat. “It was unusual, and I’ve never seen this year of Cougar before.

Etch puts the gas pedal to the floor and launches towards the heavily wooded area on the backroads hoping to stay ahead of the police vehicles traveling on the highway under him. The jet black GTO catches the attention of quite a few people walking down the streets and backroads of this countryside community.

Almost everyone has their camera phones aimed directly at the OUTLAW GTO as it passes by them at a high rate of speed. People appear to be mesmerized by this classic muscle car with its loud dual exhaust pounding the black top pavement leaving them in its wake behind

with Etch driving this wanted beast of a car like he owns the road itself. Sirens can be heard off in the distance while people still video record the OUTLAW GTO pass by them at a high rate of speed to a yet unknown destination far away from prying eyes and police officers in hot pursuit. The GTO is ramping up its speed as the sirens off in the distance appear to be getting closer. Etch doesn’t want to stick around to see what happens next. He just wants to get the hell out of the area as quickly as possible.

He finally sees the highway on ramp and exits from the backroad onto an open freeway

again. OUTLAW is easier to handle on a highway rather than on any backroads. It’s way too powerful and not really set up for twists and turns. OUTLAW was built to go straight and go straight really, really, fast. Etch does not hear any sirens or see any police cruisers but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t out there looking for him. Etch puts the pedal to the metal and launches down the empty highway. The law will be closing in soon enough but not yet.

By ROB MAY Stephen Hustak, an automotive service manager for a local family owned company, purchased this fine example of a 3rd generation Cat (1971 to 1973) in July 2019. His wife, Darnelle, helps out with cleaning and repairs. She

enjoys taking the car out on nice days for cruises.

“Darnelle and I always talked about owning a classic car for a long time, so I sold my motorcycle and started to look for options. We wanted something older but still had some amenities. The vehicle that came to mind was the ‘71 to ‘73 Mercury Cougar, and I was interested in finding a two-door hardtop with a vinyl top. This Cat kept popping up, and I showed photos of it to my wife. She was not crazy about the color until she saw it in person.

Now she would not change the color at all. We purchased the Mercury in Philadelphia, PA and had it shipped back to Ohio.”

Cosmetics were the biggest issue with the vehicle. “It had been neglected.

Paint was faded, and chrome pieces were dull. Missing parts included: rocker panel trim, head lamp bezels, grille emblem, and radio. The process of bringing the Cat back to health was a solid four months of wet sanding / polishing the paint and refurbishing pieces. We installed the missing pieces once found and rebuilt. Pin Striping was added to the hood, trunk, and sides to provide accent. The wheels were cleaned up with new center caps. The engine compartment was cleaned, painted, and freshened up. Thanks to Randy Goodling and Mike Derose with help finding parts.”

The biggest features of this vehicle are the color with the full vinyl roof.

Cat is equipped power steering, power disc brakes, air conditioning, full console, bucket seats, and XR-7 interior. The engine is a 351 2v which the previous owner rebuilt. Slight modifications include aftermarket cam with Edelbrock performance intake and carb. Behind the engine is a stock FMX transmission connected to a 3.00 axle.

“We make a point to drive the Cougar as much as possible sometimes putting on several hundred miles a week.

Considering the Mercury is close to 50 years old, it drives very well.

Steering, brakes, and suspension are tight and firm. It has a positive feel even at high speeds and lane changes. It is very easy to drive, and it is not a vehicle that makes you work.”

Styling of these demonstrate the Cougar heritage. When you look at ’71 to ’73 Cats, you notice they carry the same DNA as the first two generations with their long hood, short deck, flowing body lines, and the distinctive grille with the XR-7 emblem out front. Everyone knows it is a Cougar!

“We have not entered the Cat into any car shows yet, as the main goal was to own a car to drive and enjoy as much as possible. My wife and I get a feeling of satisfaction when we take the car out and drive and people comment when we stop. “Cruisin’ America”

By JIM WEICHERDING Well folks, it’s July. America’s month of Independence. We are a few full weeks into the summer season and I’m not liking what I am seeing in regards to classic car shows and cruise nights so far.

Granted, their are a handful of classic car shows and cruise nights going on right now but they are spotty and have minimal turnouts. Most of the reason this is happening is generated by fear.

Fear of the unknown and fear of what we are told. If we go to an event with too many people we could get sick and then die. Or, we could bring the virus back home where we are okay but those around us will get sick and they will die.

Unfortunately, these scenarios might be true but then again they might not be true. Who knows? I know that we don’t know. I certainly don’t know.

So, we do what we are told. The last thing in the world I would ever want is for someone to pass away because of the virus. Not my family members, friends or people reading this article

right now and their family members and friends.

This isn’t just happening here in New England. It’s happening everywhere across America. It’s sad.

The long time affect this will have on all of us will be astounding. Things we haven’t even thought of yet could play out in our lives.

We don’t know everything.

Not even close.

What I do know, is that there are a lot of automotive enthusiasts out there staying home because of fear. Car shows and cruise nights are not up to full capacity and charities that are helped because of these venues will feel the pain as well. It’s a domino affect that has no regard for anything that we care about. The virus doesn’t care. It just takes and then takes some more.

I’m hoping that sooner, rather than later, we can all go back to doing

what we love to do and attend these Classic Car Shows and Cruise Nights and do it without fear. I guess you have to be a Motorhead to fully understand what I’m writing about in this article.

Let’s hope August holds promise and things start to become a little more normal for all of us.

August, September and October are still Cruisin’ Season months. July might see an uptick in these venues and let’s hope that is the case.

Stay healthy and stay safe. Cruisin’ America in 2020 is not dead yet!
