Frank’s Find: 1955 DESOTO

Sometimes in life we find what we want, sometimes it finds you. That’s the case for Frank of Central Massachusetts, when his 1955 Firedome, DeSoto found him, back in 1993. “I was at a favourite watering hole one night, and well into the evening these two guys come strolling in. One of them pipes up with, who wants to buy a car, we need some cash here, it’s a classic.

“I’m not a car collector at all. But I have a soft spot for the old DeSotos. I remember when I was a young pup and I had a ride in one once and the power and smoothness really made a big impression on me. I was just a young kid at the time but man I remember. And for a couple hundred bucks I wasn’t passing that up. The last thing I needed that night was a 55 DeSoto, that was not part of the bar room plan that night, but there it was and now here it is.”

Frank is a very busy guy, always has been and always will be. As a selfmade-man, he’s always been an entrepreneur, working exclusively for himself for decades. He’s had a string of successful business enterprises and this old DeSoto has followed him to each one, mostly as the proverbial, “That’s the bosses’ project car in the parking lot, that’s been there for years.”

With free time in hand, Frank started by gutting the car’s interior, everything came out down to bare steel. Then the 4” hand grinder started gnawing through the rusted parts, cutting out all the rotted flooring, off the rotted quarter panels and the like.

It took months, years in fact to replace all the steel with fresh components and finally get the bare steel fully replaced, painted and weather sealed. “I had no previous car restoration experience at all, but as a shop guy, I knew what I was doing with the hand tools and welding equipment. But that was the easy part. Really, I had no idea what I’d gotten

Frank strolled out to look at it, fired it up and next thing you know, his beer o’clock meeting was now over and Frank had himself a gem of an old car to

Over the decades he kept it going and like a loving shadow it migrated from business to business till he finally sold his last full time business enterprise and that freedup his personal time in 2019. “Yeah it took a while, but once in entered retirement, I finally

myself into” he stated laughingly. “What I thought was going to be a one year, maybe ten-thousand-dollar project ended up going

three times that estimate. And while it’s on the road now and is a fine Sunday driver, I’ve still a list of things to do that will likely never end.”

The Firedome is a true Hemi, produced from 1952 through 1959, by DeSoto automobiles, which was a division of Chrysler Corporation at that time. This was part of their premium line of automobiles, part of their mid-range line up. The 1955 DeSoto Firedome Special Coupe came with a 276 CID Hemi, sporting a bore of 3.625” with a stroke of 3.343.” The unaltered factory motor has compression ratio of 7.5:1 and came standard with a 2 barrel Stromberg carburettor, complete with an oil-bath, filtration system.

Factory specifications from that point in time claim power output to have been 185 HP, while generating 245 ft/lb of torque. The cars could be ordered from the factory with either a three speed manual transmission, or the two-speed automatic.

This car is not a show car, it’s a go car: go anywhere Frank’s fancy takes him. “I just like to drive it once and a while. That suites me just fine. It’s a real head turner. The looks and comments I get from people are priceless.” For example, on the way to our photo shoot, Frank and this author rolled up for an Iced Coffee, which is a basic food-group for Frank.

We rolled up to the window at a Dunkies and the young lady at the window was wideeyed, while handing off the icy delight. She commented “Wow, that’s a really nice car.” A smile and thank you followed from Frank, who drove off carefully as not to spill anything on the new upholstery.

“I just like driving it” he stated while smiling broadly, “To say they don’t make em like this

anymore is to state the obvious – but they don’t.” It’s all Detroit steel and when you crank down the windows they stay where you put them. If you want AC, open the fly-windows. When you open and close the doors of the car, you know well they close right proper, you can feel it. It’s so nice once again to ride in an automobile that feels, looks, smells and rumbles along – like a real car.

WHAT IS DYNO TUNING?

Let’s start with the dyno, it can be an engine dyno or chassis dyno, these are just tools like a torque wrench. They are de signed to measure horsepower, torque, boost pressure, air temperature, air/fuel ratio, and speed accurately. This gives the “Tuner” a gauge to see a performance gain or loss based on his tune adjustments. A typical mechanic has $1000’s of dollars invested in tools to perform certain automotive, mechanical, or electrical tasks. A chassis dyno is a stationary road for me to make adjustments to a engine or transmission tune and validate the results in a safe manor. It extremely dangerous to attempt to watch a data-log and drive on public roads. The chassis dyno allows me to operate the vehicle and completely pay attention to the information the vehicles computer pro vides and data from the dyno without worrying about actually driving.

Many people are against dyno testing because the are afraid of the dyno, thinking the dyno is dangerous or unsafe. The oppo site is true. The testing session is designed to be safe. Once the vehicle is loaded on the dyno it is carefully strapped down to prevent any movement off the dyno roller. Testing on the dyno can find mechanical issues before major damage can occur. We can visually look for engine oil leaks or coolant leaks that may not be ap parent. Monitoring Air/Fuel Ratio is one of the most important pieces of information the dyno can provide. Reading Air/Fuel ratio info in real time will show a fueling issue, which can be addressed before any engine damage could occur.

It’s always good to run your build specifications with your tuner before you hit the Dyno. I have found that most customers seek information off the internet. While the internet can provide excellent information on sizing fuel injectors, fuel pumps, and camshaft specs, etc. I have found most people really don’t seem to have a clue as to how each part works with each other. They think the since Joe’s car runs 80lb injectors that they need 80lb injectors. In reality, if a competent builder looked at the differences between the “internet build” and the customer’s actual build they would come to a different conclusion. Even changes in fuel make a difference on your choice of injectors and fuel system components. E85 is considered pump gas in a lot of different areas of the country. E85 will require on minimum of 30% bigger injectors and fuel system components to work prop erly. On 93 Octane the “Internet build” that the customer is copying doesn’t make sense. Your injectors would give you too much fuel at idle and will only be around 50% duty cycle at fuel throttle.

A good tuner will also know the capabilities of the vehicles PCM’s that

he specializes in. Most old PCM,s were never designed for boost ap plication and 2/3 bar map sensors. So talking to a local tuner might save you a lot of money and make your combination run correctly when properly tuned.

of the parking lot, I feel an ominous pres ence lurking, an all-black silhouette that is just begging me to come closer and check it out. As I make my way towards the 1968 Ford Falcon belonging to Rob Risher, it immediately clues me in that it is definitely not built for the proverbial little old lady going to church on Sunday.

Already fascinated by the intimidating stance, I inquired with Rob as to what makes this Falcon fly. I’m pleasantly surprised to find out that it’s actually a pretty simple combination responsible for churning up over 600hp and 561 ft/lbs of torque. A Windsor based 351ci engine got the full treatment, bored and stroked to a 408, then stuffed with forged inter nals and the best of everything. Brodix heads top off the powerplant before it’s bolted to an upgraded C4 transmission. A Ford 8” rear end hides 3.55 gears that have no problem spinning the Weld Drag Lites on either the street or strip. Caltrac’s

Mono Leaf rear springs keep the wheels planted out back while front suspension is controlled by a fresh set of Viking coilovers. Upgraded brakes with drilled and slotted rotors help bring the Falcon to a halt when needed.

With all the mechanicals perfected, the car headed to Joe Pineau at Metal Works for the body work, paint, and final pol ishing chores. The finished product and attention to detail are impressive, but the

The Power of Heart and Petrol, The Newport Concours d’Elegance by The Audrain Museums

It all started October 2014 when the Auto Museum took over the Audrain Building in Newport Rhode Island, a historic building built in 1903. The museum is not described as a car museum, but a celebration of the “Machine Age,” a time when art and automobiles came together. It lives up to this moniker exceptionally well displaying up to 20 vehicles per display from as far back as 1899.

The Chief Executive Officer is Donald Osborne, a man whose knowledge is so immense that he has forgotten more than most people know about cars. A co-host on “What’s My Car Worth” and appearing on Jay Leno’s garage he is a connoisseur of the automobile. He is also an accomplished judge at major concours events across the US. He’s written for many publications such as Road and Track, New York Times and Wall Street Journal and it’s clear that the Audrain Museum channels his passion for cars.

When it was announced that in October 2019 the museum would be hosting the Audrain Newport Concours & Motorweek it was assured that it would be an incredible and establishing event for the New England area. It was clear with so many historical names, events, and most importantly cars, that New England would be a perfect place to establish the event. It has been going strong ever since. Made notable by appearances from names like Wayne Carini and, most notably, Jay Leno. The true stars of the event are the cars that cross a century of design and automotive

something for everyone.

This year’s event went on in the face of the remnants of Hurricane Ian. That didn’t stop an amazing line-up of vehicles arriving over the 4 day event. Nothing would stop the attendees from enjoying the festivities. The Porsche presence was strong throughout. A crazy Rolls-Royce in bright yellow filled with artistic display graced the lawn area. Even Jay Leno got involved taking a picture for Motorhead Magazine. The cruise in the rain pulled in everything from newer McLarens, Delorean, Corvettes and even a BMW M1. Once the lawn filled up for viewing it would be impossible to say what the best was. Ferraris, Cadillacs, Oldsmobile, from new to what you would consider ageless. This wasn’t a car show. It was an exquisite rolling art show. It definitely exemplified the title Concours d’Elegance.

This just wasn’t a single show either. Seminars were available from various names in collector cars. Various parties, as well as Wine by the Water could be attended. Unfortunately due to weather some events were canceled such as Yoga on the

Concours, but on a whole the event went well and was well worth attending.

There are many reasons to love the Audrain’s Newport Concours, but I think two reasons that stand out most to me are as follows.

First the direction of the event is to get more people involved in the automotive world. Whether it be young people or those of the feminine persuasion, the goal is to leave the door open for anyone and everyone.

And for that we thank Audrain for bringing their passion to show how the smallest state in the union has the biggest heart. A heart fueled by passion as well as petrol.

FORD GT40 Phil Gaglione’s

His name is Phil Gaglione and he resides in the city of Cranston, Rhode Island. He is 72 years old and has a lifelong passion for cars. He has been married for 47 years and has a boy and a girl.

Phil’s son grew up and became friends with Lou, our Motorhead Magazine publisher. Lou said it was a lot of fun growing up in the neighborhood and remembers that Phil was a great guy. Very passionate about automobiles.

Phil’s Ford GT40 Mach I is a RCR built vehicle. Race Car Replicas is located in the state of Michigan. This car features a 427 motor with Borla fuel injection and runs using a Holley Terminator X EFI. The Ford GT40 has quite a history and racing legacy related to the 24 Hour Le Mans held in Europe. The GT40 was a commission build for the Ford Motor Company in the early to mid-60’s. This vehicle was built to race the 24 Hour Le Mans against the

Ferrari racing car that dominated this event every year until 1966 when the Ford GT40 wins this race for the very first time.

In fact, the GT40 came in first place, second place and third place in the 1966 long-distance Le Mans race. This legendary run was won by driver, Ken Miles. The GT40 followed up with those 1966 finish line positions by coming in first place in the Le Mans in the 1967, 1968 and 1969 sports car races.

The GT40 Coupe Roadster body style had a production of 105 units. This car featured a wheelbase of 95 inches (2,413mm), a body length of 160 inches (4,064mm), a body width of 70 inches (1,778mm), a height of 40.5 inches (1,029mm) and a curb weight of 1,800 - 2,300 pounds (816-1,043kg)-(1966 Mk llA). The 1966 GT40 ended Ferrari’s streak at the 24 Hour Le Mans with

the first American built race car participating in a major European race. The last time an American made car had won a race overseas

was at the 1921, French Grand Prix, when Jimmy Murphy won that race driving a Duesenburg. The GT40 Mk lV, designed and built completely on American soil, wins the 1967 24 Hour Le Mans. The GT40 Mk l wins the Le Mans long-distance race in 1968 and 1969.

The “40” represents the minimum height required with 40 inches measured from the windshield in order to participate in the 24 Hour Le Mans races. The first 12 “prototype” vehicles were stamped with GT - 101 and GT - 112 serial numbers. When production started, the Mk l, Mk ll, Mk lll and the Mk lV were numbered GT40P/1000 thru GT40P/1145, making them official GT40’s. The Mk lV’s were numbered J1 thru J12.

The second-generation Ford GT was made available with the 2017 model year. This rear-engine, rear-wheel drive, Ford manufactured GT sports car was produced from 2004 thru 2006 with 4,000 units total and from 2016 thru 2022 with 1,350 units total to date.

The first-ever, 1966 Ford GT40 that won the 1966 24 Hour Le Mans, sold for millions of dollars at the RM Sotheby’s Auction located at Monterey in 2018. This race car features a 90 degree, vee pushrod V8 engine, four twin-choke Weber carburetors, wet sump lubrication, 4736cc, 289 cubic inches with 390 horsepower at 7000 RPM. The “Street Legal” Ford GT40, features a 4.7 liter V8 engine, with 306 horsepower and 329 lb-ft torque and a top-speed of 164 MPH. The 1968 Ford GT40 driven by Steve McQueen in the movie, “Le Mans”, set an auction re cord selling for $11,000,000.

25 Years After Last Cat

After 30 years of production, 1997 sadly meant the end of rear-wheel-drive Mercury Cats (along with the demise of the V8s). Fortunately, one last effort was made to produce a special limited edition 30th Anniversary with exclusive features. Twenty-Five years later, we provide an insightful look at this Last Cat. One 1997 Mercury Cougar 30th Anniversary special edition lives in his den in Lompoc, CA. “The ‘97 sits nose to nose of my project 1967 Cat.”

Note, Mercury failed to make a special 10th nor 15th Anniversary edition Cougar. There was an ‘87 XR-7 20th Anniversary Edition produced as well as a ’92 XR-7 25th version. Both offered unique exterior colors and both with V8s under the hood.

On to the 30th Anniversary Edition. A typical MSRP was $21,380 in December of 1996. These Cats sport a 4.6L SOHC engine with an electronic overdrive transmission. Rear gear is 2.73 Traction-Lox (Posi-traction). Independent rear suspension is also part of the package. Wheel rims were unique to these Cats/

Dark Toreador Red in color with a Prairie Tan interior were the only color options on the early 30th Anniversary Editions. According to the Marti Report there were 5,328 Cougar with this paint code, all 30th Anniversary Editions. Marti also shows a total of 7,813 30th Anniversary Editions. Later in the model year, a Pearlescent White and a Tan color were available for the special edition. Both of these are quite rare.

The MN12 Cougars are some of the most underappreciated cars on the road today. These 1997 Cougars offer several reflections to their heri-

tage. The chassis platform and drivetrain choices are obvious – rear wheel drive V8 powered. Two doors, long hood, and large trunk also help establish their inherited genes. Cat Emblems are proudly displayed on leather seats, floor mats, roof panel, hood, and more.

Mercury sent a welcome kit to 1997 Cougar 30th Anniv. Edition buyers. This included products with the 30th Anniv logo on keys and key ring, umbrella, two different size flashlights, a pen, dash plaque, and a welcome letter.

Lincoln Johnny Lightning Race Club

With the changing seasons we all need to realign our thought process and find other activities that brings us inside for the fall and winter months. A fun indoor activity is participating with the Lincoln Johnny Lightning Race Club at the MacColl YMCA building located in Lincoln, Rhode Island.

The LJLRC officially opened their doors in March of 2009. The club was founded by Jeremy Morin. He is also the current club president and Ken Dorr is vice-president. Ken took over that position in January of 2017. Cliff Barratt is a board member and assists

with the club’s monthly races and votes on any needed or required changes.

There are no ages restrictions to join the club or participate with any club races. They have an open door policy and welcome all ages. LJLRC posts all monthly races and meetings on their website and post any cancellations on their

social networks if anything should prevent them from hosting either function.

LJLRC is a non-profit organization and accepts donations. During the month of November, they accept donations that benefit the Food Bank and during the month of December, they accept donations that benefit the YMCA Giving Tree. This helps community boys and girls that are less fortunate at Christmas time. They reach out to these families from the MacColl YMCA where they hold their monthly club meetings. They travel to various locations during the year to host races. Local Cub Scouts, Libraries and National Night Out Event at the Lincoln Mall are a few of those host locations.

It’s November everyone. That means classic car and truck shows, as well as cruise nights, are over for another cruisin’ season across New England and the northern states of America until next spring. It doesn’t mean classic cars and trucks take a backseat because the snow is about to fall and we cannot attend these popular automotive events during the upcoming winter months.

I’m looking for PROJECT BUILDS happening in garages and automotive shops here in this region and other states. Motorhead Magazine is online every month and we have readers everywhere. Content is not just featured in our regional printed hands-on publications and distributed to automotive enthusiasts across

New England. Our website also attracts a large readership. It doesn’t matter what you are building. As long as it’s a build, not just bought completely restored or modified.

Over the next few months, I would like to feature your PROJECT BUILD article and submitted photos in Motorhead Magazine for our readers to enjoy and possibly learn a little bit about the build process first-hand. BUILT NOT BOUGHT

This article is about Ed Tallent and the car he calls “The Hulk”. This car is a drag car/show car. This is one of the cleanest Fox body cars you will ever see. Ed has OCD, I mean that in a respectful way. Every single nut and bolt has been touched, painted, or polished. The paint is perfect. If he finds a scratch it will be painted within a week or two. Details are what Ed does and everything has its place in the trailer or with the car.

The trailer is mint along with custom LED lighting, stereo system, mag wheels, heat and A/C. The tow truck is detailed and is in mint shape also. Ed upgraded to a motor-home so he could drive up and down the east coast to attend more events. Yes, the motor-home is also mint if you were wondering.

Ed is down by the south shore of Massachu setts. He is one out of seven kids raised by a single mom and was taught - at a young age - if you want it, you’ve got to work for it. Ed had two older brothers and they had Mustangs. The rides in the car were cool and all, until one of the brothers just had to step on it. Well, that was all Ed had to feel. The adrenaline from that ride set the hooks deep

in Ed at a young age.

Ed had been working for Jones Excavating. Life was going good, he got married and had kids. If you know him, you know family is first, period. Ed’s wife Alicia always stands by her man. The kids, Alexa and Chase, are always Ed’s biggest fans.

He bought a roller Mustang to start his project. A roller is a complete car without the motor or transmission. Well, it just sat there doing nothing, so he sells the car to his neighbor. His neighbor puts in a 302 with a standard transmission. Again, the car just sat there doing nothing. Ed then buys the car

back from his neighbor, puts in a 302 with a S trim blower on it. He did a little street racing and met Matt Fleck and some of the guys. Ed worked for Jones Excavation for sixteen and a half years. They took great care of him and had shown him everything he knows today.

Ed went out on his own about 5 years ago, starting his own company, Ace Excavation Inc. but Jones still supports Ed with his com pany to this day.

The Fox body notch was doing okay, then one night it blew up. The car was down, not a lot of money to be had starting his own business. Ed was street racing as all the guys do from time to time. Matt Fleck was there when the car went down. These two guys just hit it off, they were and still are like brothers. In the middle of all this, Ed’s house was a total loss. When a company was filling the oil tank, they imploded the tank filling up the basement with over 200 gallons of home heating oil. Then to make thing worst the insurance companies did not want to pay. So, Ed and the family lived somewhere else for two years. Finally, this past year, Ed and the family now have a beautiful newly built

home the same lot. I don’t know about you, but I honestly know that I could not build a house, take care of your family, start a new business, and build a race car all at the same time.

Ed brought the car to Matt where they put a 347 with 88 mm turbo and a C4 trans. They mini tubbed the back for bigger tires. A 10-point cage was installed, and the car was ready. When they started working on it, they quickly realized the used motor was junk. Ed was at a turning point, and he was just going to part the car out. He was sick to his stom ach about it. Matt convinced Ed to switch to Chevy power. If you know Ed, he was not for this idea at all. Ford goes with Ford, period. Matt showed Ed that this was a win-win for him and, for the car.

There was no way Ed was going to give up his passion. So he agreed, and started to sell all the Ford parts and bought all LS stuff. They started out slow and then they went at it hard. Ed gave all the money that he made selling all the Ford parts to Matt. He told Matt, “The ball is in your court, lead the way so I can go back on the street and enjoy my car.” They ordered parts and went for it, a 6.0 LS built motor with twin turbo S 366 and a

On a personal note, I have known Ed Tallent for 6 years or so. It feels like I have known him for a lifetime. You will always see him smiling and joking around. His personality is contagious, and you want to hang with him because he is always having a good time. When Ed is at the track or around the track you can see the passion he has for racing. This man is one of the good ones that you will remember for a long time. We joke about Ed and always say “It Must Be Nice”. Ed buys a lot of stuff, but we all know he works 70 to 80 hours per week. He has very little time to himself. When and if he does have time, he tries to spend it with his family. I have learned a lot about life from Ed myself. I am honored to know and be able to call Ed Tallent a friend.

SEEKONK, Mass. –The Seekonk Speedway season-finale hosted three divisions of New England short-track racing, with two cham pions crowned, and one driver keeping the hometown crowd on the edge of their seats in two different races.

In the headliner of the afternoon, Anthony Nocella topped the final race of the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series season, scoring his first victory of his career with the series. Nocella’s Seekonk triumph was a long time coming – as the driver of the No. 92 had finished at the front of the field at the third-mile multiple times, in multiple different modified divisions.

Nocella took the lead from early race dominator Chuck Hossfeld for the final time on lap 69, and drove away to the victory. Hossfeld finished second, driving for Stephen Kopcik, while Matt Hirschman wrapped the podium in third. Nocella’s victory marked the sixth different winner in seven Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series events for the 2022 season – only Hirschman

In the 100-lap penultimate race of the season for the American-Canadian Tour, the final 30 laps was a showdown between eventual series champion DJ Shaw and Seekonk Speedway Late Model regular Jacob “Rowdy” Burns. It was Burns who took the lead early, but Shaw charged from the bottom of the top-10 to the front quickly, and challenged for the lead in the final stages. The two swapped the lead back and forth for the final circuits, and on the final lap, as the field crossed for the white flag, Burns was out front. However, it was Shaw who would dive to the bottom and make the pass, edging Burns as the finish by .068 seconds. As a local regular, Burns was looking to become the first track standout to beat the invading ACT Tour drivers in the 17th race in the history of ACT at Seekonk, but came up just a tick short. Alexandre Tardiff finished third, followed by Jason Corliss and Tom Carey III in a 32-car starting field.

Burns was the winner of the day in the $2,000 to win, 30-lap INEX Legends Cars race – holding off a hard-charging Mason Tessier in the final few feet to win by inches. Burns and Tessier swapped the lead back and forth

themselves for many of the late laps, with Tessier trying the bottom in the final corner, but coming up just short. Jase Mongeon, Jake Silvia and Brendan LaBelle finished the top-five in the 27-car starting field, with a purse of over $7,000 distributed post-race.

The 2022 season for the Monaco Modified TriTrack Series is now complete. A 2023 schedule is expected to be released in the com-

We all have our own family Thanksgiving traditions and being a child raised in the 60’s was especially very cool around the holidays. We didn’t have old winter beaters or drivers in the old days that would replace our new vehicles when the weather was bad and road conditions were poor. We had what we had and drove it anyway.

Even as a teenager in the 70’s I drove my muscle cars in the dead of winter through two feet of snow on our roadways. I had to do that. It was my only vehicle and I had to get to school and my after school job every day regardless of the weather conditions. I even had to drive my classic GTO’s, Chevelle’s and Hot Rod’s to family gatherings on Thanksgiving Day.

New England weather can be iffy during the month of November but most of the time it’s just overcast and chilly but the scenery is outstanding. Sometimes the vehicle heater worked, sometimes it didn’t work. Windshield wipers were always a concern and driving on rear tires that were burnt

We watched Bullitt mostly to see the greatest chase scenes ever filmed in a movie with Steve McQueen behind the wheel chasing bad guys across the city and outskirts of San Francisco. I’m sure many of you reading this article can reflect upon those days in the 60’s and 70’s and remember all of the cool rides and the movies that featured them on the big screen at area drive-ins and viewed in the comfort of your own homes.

Thanksgiving is about being grateful for what you have now but it’s also about being grateful for what we once had in our lives. I’m grateful that I grew up surrounded by the greatest automobiles ever manufactured and remember that especially on Thanksgiving Day and the holiday weekend the most. That is definitely something to be thankful for. In a world that is drastically changing and things that once were, are now a thing of the past when it comes to our automotive culture and lifestyle, it’s good to be able to reflect upon things that can never be taken away from us because we already lived it and loved it.

Outlaw was built to be driven. It wasn’t built to be parked. Etch takes his wanted outlaw Pontiac GTO down the backroads of New England at cruising speeds hoping that he doesn’t cross pathes with any state troopers or police o cers in their cruisers in whatever state he happens to be driving through on this almost pitch black night. The moon can barely be seen behind the thick clouds overhead. Stars are sporadically visible but only for a moment, or two, before being lost in the dark clouds. Etch continues his e orts to avoid detection and possibly be caught and captured by law enforcement.

extremely hard to do when your vehicle is banned from roads across the region as well as the entire country and you happen to be driving in a very loud and very obvious classic muscle car down backroads through the quiet countryside. Etch sees ashing lights ahead of him as he approaches a bend in the road. He slows to a crawl but still keeps moving forward anyway. No sudden moves or any panic reactions to something not fully understandable yet. The ashing lights are illuminating from the top of a re truck with what appears to be an ambulance approaching from the opposite direction.

Etch can barely make out a dead cow across the blacktop in the middle of the roadway and a vehicle crashed head-on into a fence and tree o the side of the road. He has to come to a complete stop behind the re truck. He cannot drive past the big truck and cow carcass in the middle of the winding road. He then notices blue lights ashing behind the approaching ambulance.
