A Sincere Apology
An Open Letter opening our doors to let you understand better

All praise and thanks be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. Allah’s peace and blessings be upon our beloved prophet and messenger, Sayyidina Muhammad, as well as upon his family and companions. May peace be upon you and (hope it's not too late) Eid Mubarak, dear readers. This is not a proper issue of the magazine but rather, as per the cover, an open letter that hopes to explain why we have suddenly been quiet again after our recent return earlier this year. We have great things planned out for 2017 and we were hopeful that it would be a year that we finally come back and get things on track as well as introducing new accompaniments to the magazine. We have shared in our Reunion that we'll be publishing the magazine in print bimonthly (once every two months) as we would like the youth to start the habit of reading away from their gadgets, at the same time wanting to deliver our magazine to you in a form that can be felt, touched, and experienced. We also gave a rather vague introduction to "Breakfast with...", which is a monthly get-together where we'll have speakers discussing and sharing on the theme of the magazine's issues.
Alhamdulillah, issue #17 went pretty well and we were hoping to follow it up as planned with issue #18 as well as the breakfast event. Work was done—we did the articles, shot the photos, designed the layouts, prepared the artwork and sent it for print. As how it is sometimes, things do not always fall into place as what we have wanted. Due to unforseen circumstances that are unavoidable, we are forced to a halt. We were unsure on how to move forward and we took time to figure it out. In the process, we have left you hanging, which leads us to this open letter. Why not just a simple "We're on Hiatus" poster you may ask. Well, we think that we have some explanation to do and it would be insincere to just leave you hanging with a poster. We hope that this letter has served as a recap and an explanation of what we are going through at the moment. Alhamdulillah for everything, for He knows best. We seek for your kind du'as and hope to be back with the issues as planned. From all of us at MIRROR, please accept our sincere apology—Maaf Zahir & Batin.
