The Downtown Clubhouse Missouri Room welcomed the MAC Wine Society back for their first event since the pandemic. As soon as they checked into the event on Tuesday, Sept. 15, Members were offered a glass of wine and greeted by fellow Members whom they have not seen recently. The night began with a reception at 6:30 p.m. where members mingled while enjoying wine and delicious hors d’oeuvres such as lamb chops, crab cakes and salmon crostini. Then, they were treated to a presentation of Unshackled Wines by Michel Krevenas, Luxury and On-Premise Manager for Constellation Brands. Finally, attendees were treated to a threecourse dinner prepared by Executive Chef Bart Philipps. The first course included portobello mushrooms, veggies, and lettuce with spiced pork belly and goat cheese paired with the 2018 The Snitch Chardonnay. The entrée included a ribeye topped with shrimp, Andouille sausage etouffee and veggies with a side-by-side comparison of the 2018 Unshackled Cabernet Savignon and the 2018 Unshackled Red Blend. This was followed by the dessert course of hazelnut sponge with dark chocolate mousse served with Sandeman Founders Reserve Port.
