CLIMATE Paros climate is temperate, like the rest of the Cycladic Islands. Winters are mild and during summer season the weather is sunny and hot but refreshed by the seasonal winds called meltemia, much appreciated by windsurfers. Summer evenings are usually cooler, the perfect weather for your holidays. If you prefer an extremely sunny weather but with slightly cooler temperatures then, September and October are ideal months for enjoying relaxing holidays. Getting there

Paros Island features its own airport with daily flights to Athens. It is also daily connected to Piraeus port and to many Aegean islands by ferry-boats. BY AIR From Athens airport, there are daily Olympic Airlines flights to Paros (30’ flight). The number of flights and their time-table depend on the time of the year. Paros Airport is located at 10 km from Paroikia. From the Athens airport, you can get to Piraeus by taxi or by bus (appr. 1 hour, depending on traffic), metro and train (25 minutes from city centre). There are also high-speed ferries, from the port of Rafina, which is closest to Athens International Airport. You can also travel to Paros by ferry from/to other Cycladic Islands. Local Transportation

When you arrive in Paros, you can either use the public transportation (local bus), taxis or, you can rent a car. The majority of the rental agencies are situated close to the port. If you land to Paros airport, there is a taxi stand as you exit or have your rental car waiting for you at the airport, just ask your rental agency. Departure points: Buses leave from Paroikia, Lefkes, Dryos, Naoussa, Alyki, Pounta and Kolimbithres, going to several locations around the island and back. During the summer period buses also leave from and to Santa Maria and Ampelas. TAXI SERVICE You can also get around Paros by taxis. You will find the main taxi stand in Paroikia central square and in Naoussa. Taxis in Paros are expensive; therefore you are advised to ask for the fare before getting in. Taxis can be hailed on the street, or arrive by appointment.
