How did you get to where you are now in your career? I have always felt the desire of becoming a photographer was in me since I was young, but after getting my master degree in Finance & Banking, I started to work as a bank specialist, and it lasted seven years. Although it was a good job, I was never satisfied with my career choice and have realised that it was not for me, but unfortunately, I couldn’t quit. I was afraid of starting all over and learn from scratch in a new creative profession such as Photography. During that period of my life, I was also going through a painful divorce with my husband (now exhusband). The divorce caused me a lot of stress and depression. Only now I understand that it served an impetus to change my life. It was a sign to change myself and follow my calling. I went ahead and bought my first Camera Canon 5D Mark II and my first portrait lens 85 mm. I began to shoot everything, I learned how to shoot from watching videos on YouTube, and I also learned how to retouch photos. Yes, I love retouching my photos very much. It was a complete self-education, but recently I had an opportunity to graduate from Russian Photo collage (www.photocollege.org @photocollege) in SaintPetersburg. Massive THANKS to my teacher Alexander Croft, who is a very talented fashion photographer and an amazing teacher in Russia.

How did your education prepare you for the future? It was a complete selfeducation, but recently I had an opportunity to graduate from Russian Photo collage (www.photocollege.org @photocollege) in Saint-Petersburg. Massive THANKS to my teacher Alexander Croft, who is a very talented fashion photographer and an amazing teacher in Russia. What person has been your inspiration in life? Who is your hero? I don’t have a hero, but I’ve been inspired by creations of famous fashion photographers such as Annie Leibovitz, Patrick Demarchelier, Peter Lindbergh, Mario Festino and of course my two baby girls Kseniya and Michelle, they are the biggest inspiration in my life for me. Their smiles and kid energy make me cheerful and strong every day. If you had to do it over again, what would you change? I would change nothing; I wholeheartedly believe that I" m on the right path now and I take one step at the time.

Do you feel like you’ve met your goals and are successful? I believe I'm successful and I enjoy what I do, but I haven’t reached my goals yet. I am selfcritical, and I want to get better and better. My dream and goal are to be published in Fashion Magazines. I am a beginner in fashion photography and only have two years of experience. But I know I will reach my goal. What advice would you give someone who is young and wants to have a position such as yours one day? - Don't be lazy! Don't be scared to do something against the norm, break the rules, educate yourself, be dynamic and always be prepared. As Stephen Covey said, in his book "The seven habits of highly effective people:” Be proactive and be willing to learn constantly.” How do you stay inspired? Pre-production and planning of the fashion photo-shoot always inspire me. I enjoy working with passionate, talented and creative people who work hard and know their job who are professional models from agencies, hair and makeup team, designers and stylists. When everyone gets along and understands each other during the shoot, it gives me great pleasure and keeps me very inspired as well. What's your favourite camera? Canon 5 D Mark II Tell us something very interesting while working with a model. There was a really interesting situation when one of the designers forgot to bring a ribbon (lace) from a corset. What to do?! We had to come up with something, but what?! Thankfully, one of the models was wearing sneakers with a white shoelace, so we end up using her shoelace to hold the corset. Thanks again to that model!

How did you get to where you are now in your career?
I got into the picture completely by chance, I just once accidentally took a picture of the cover of the camera, and then for me it was like a journey into a new world. How did your education prepare you for the future?
I'm learning a lot from various artists, both Russian and foreign, want me to be published in magazines around the world. What person has been your inspiration in life? Who is your hero?
Her name was Oksana, is the first person who introduced me to photography. Do you feel like you’ve met your goals and are successful?
Yes, I attach a lot of effort for this, rented a lot in the studio, on the street and in nature. If you had to do it over again, what would you change?
I would start immediately to work with the modelling agency, using this faster the development of me as a photographer.

What's your favourite camera?
My favourite camera is my eyes and my vision of the world and the people of their inner "I". And so I take on Canon 6d 85mm 1.8
Tell us something very interesting while working with a model. I work primarily with its internal state, emancipation. Sometimes I ask to jump or try to laugh, then immediately disappears stiffness, and changes state.
What is like to photograph kids?
I honestly photographed them very rarely, they are certainly fun, but most of all I love to shoot centrefold. How do you when a kid is going to be a great model?
They should be fun, so they felt the contact, and then they will be interested in these issues and should be removed. Favourite model?
My favourite model Elizabeth, contact, unfortunately, I can not leave it maybe a model of an international modelling agency.
 Favourite makeup artist?
I work with different make-up artists, someone difficult to isolate because of all different, but they are all professionals. Favourite designer?
I, unfortunately, did not work even with the designers, only with stylists. Favourite hairstylist? (Name and email would be great. Otherwise, please leave this blank)
I do not have a hairdresser, hairstyle, in most cases does makeup. What advice would you give someone who is young and wants to have a position such as yours one day? Find yourself constantly trying new things, do not be afraid to make a mistake, look for their people.
 How do you stay inspired?
Constantly watch a lot of photos of famous writers, read books on art, colour and kop zits ii, learning to draw. What photography related things do you recommend?
I am very sympathetic, always reply to all, as well as help if I am asked to see himself well, or that it is necessary for people. I try to do it quickly.

Liza ice

How do you balance his/her studies and modelling career? Currently, Liza is in the 2nd Grade of the regular school. She does modelling in her free time. She has plenty of time for various activities such as swimming, additional courses of English language, listening music, drawing, reading interesting books, playing with friends, playing with her dog or spending time with her younger sister and us.

What is your/his/her dream role as a model? What do you aspire for him/her? Her everyday dreams and not tied to modelling. She is dreaming of being able to fly, gaining a superpower of mind-reading or getting a magic wand. I suppose that suits perfectly her age.
As for my parent's ambitions its are fully satisfied. I saw my daughter on podiums, in magazines and booklets, on billboards, in shop windows, on TV. Now I just want her to be a happy and free person.

Does he/she have any limitations? How do you define her boundaries when choosing to accept a modelling request? In case the offer is interesting, contains nothing illegal, immoral and unethical taking account the age of my daughter it will be considered.

State his/her availability: Would you travel? Work fulltime, part-time? Any hours? Travelling abroad is acceptable. All the details should be discussed in advance and separately for each of the offers.

As a parent, what pieces of advice could you give to the parents reading this? I don't consider myself privileged to giving advice to anyone. However, I would probably suggest other parents of the world believe in their children and be supportive when it comes to their undertakings.

Tell us about yourself and your (daughter). We live in Russia, St.-Petersburg. My daughter Liza is eight years old. When she turned five, her appearance attracted the attention of the children's model agency and she was invited to be included on their list.
My husband and I talked it over and decided to give it a try. The first proposal came right after the first shooting. It turned out that modelling was her thing and she enjoyed the process as well as the results. She is amazing, versatile, wise and purposeful. She is the one who inspires me everyday. How important is modelling education: Has he/she attended modelling courses? In my opinion, there is no need for the special education to become a model. I would say it is more about having a strong individuality, being able to accept and love yourself, your body and the way you look. Just be yourself and remain natural in front of the camera.

What do you think makes someone “fit” to be a model? Each person is unique, and at this moment we can observe the demand for all types of bodies and types including the plus size models and those who fall off regular "beauty standards" which seems to be one of the latest trends. This is a wheel of lottery and everything is possible. What do you know about the advertisement industry, advertising psychology, and photography? I'm familiar with this area since I'm a PR graduate.

How do you communicate with people? Are you patient? Are you friendly? How open are you to clients’ requirements? My daughter and I are open, sociable and friendly. If the client's requirements are reasonable and within the capabilities of my child, they will be reviewed and accepted.

Does he/she eat nutritiously? I do pay close attention to my child's healthy and adequate eating, however, I'm not prone to extremes, and she is allowed to chose from a variety of dishes she may enjoy. I trust her food preferences, but I do not support the junk food eating since it brings nothing good to the growing child.

For the young model: Tell us your most memorable experience in modelling so far? I don't remember any special or unusual shooting, but Liza is always willing to participate in the shooting with animals. She loves animals.

What are your plans for Christmas Season? We are looking forward to all kinds of family winter fun. Creating snow figures, sledging and playing snowballs which are usually followed by the hot steamy bath and hot tea with some home-made jam. We are Russians! We like it a lot.

What was the most encouraging experience you have as a parent? Liza appeared in our family despite the medical prognosis. My husband and I were informed that we would never have a child. Having her is a miracle and a great inspiration for us. I'm thankful to God for that.

What are the challenges having a son/ daughter in this industry? There are no obstacles. Everything happens quite easily.

Any stories you want to tell our readers? We just wish all happiness and peace.

Tell us something interesting about you, something inspiring. Don't be shy. :) Since I grew up watching my dad working as a producer, I have always dreamed of a life as an actress. To achieve my dream, I’m working as an actress in dramas, movies, plays and advertisements and also as a model. I was chosen as the youngest among the 200 competitors in an open audition for the nation’s No.1 Play called “Rooftop Room Cat”. I won in the beauty contest, ‘Miss Green Korea’ and ‘Miss Globe International Korea’. And I participated as a Korean representative and won the group-photo award in Marykay Dream Beautiful Korea TOP5 & Marykay Dream Beautiful Asia Pacific. I am appearing in Korean and Korean Chinese collaborated dramas and films. Tasting and cooking of the world cuisine, learning Chinese, playing the drum and violin, skating and traveling alone are the things I love the most. I am constantly challenging and passionately trying the things I can show my charms in and what I want to explore myself to. How important is modelling education: Have you attended modelling courses? What related courses or studies have you taken? I’ve never received professional modeling lessons however, in 2014, I had model walking and pose lessons during the process of my participation in Cosmetic Model Contest of Asia. My older sister who is a model taught me great walks and poses. But I think ‘Liberal sense and Self-confidence’ are more significant to a model than education so I practice the basics on the stage while I make my own walking and posing styles. What do you think makes someone “fit” to be a model? I believe that the most important factors are creative ideas and confident to models. Many models are tall, have beautiful bodies and pretty faces but ‘creative idea’ is what makes a model stand out and improve. I strongly believe, with endless efforts and stage-enjoying spirits, one can become a great model. What are your goals as a model? How do you see yourself progressing in this field? I have two goals. The first one is to convey a “positive energy” to everyone who sees me. And the second is to be “Muse” with inspiration. To do that, I think I should have imaginative and creative mind, constant effort and my own unique charm which can give someone a thrill and I’m doing my best. What do you know about the advertisement industry, advertising psychology and photography? They give positive influences in doing creative work and searching for attractive models in various fields. And I want to be a part of it. How do you communicate with people? Are you patient? Are you friendly? How open are you to clients’ requirements? I’m very outgoing and sociable. My nickname is “Vitamin” and people sometimes call me a battery charger “Xiaomi”. Because I give people positive energy. And I respond to client’s requirements quickly and frequently. Do you eat nutritiously? How often do you exercise or go to the gym? “I’m what I eat” is my motto of food. I consider the food I usually eat makes my today, tomorrow and the future, so I try to eat healthy and nutritious food. I also prefer my own cooking. I mainly eat well-balanced food with low sodium and preferably not to eat junk food. To stay in shape for mind and body, I exercise. I do weight lifting 3 or 4 times a week and often take a walk, meditating and listening to music. Besides working out, I swim, stretch and body structure fitness. What is your dream role as a model? I want to be an active model who keeps trying and challenging in various fields. I have particular interest in fashion, beauty and advertisement and I want to give it a shot with various and creative approaches. Moreover, I want to be a model who can’t be forgotten, once seen. Do you have any limitations? How do you define your boundaries when choosing to accept a modelling request? I’m not comfortable with two much exposure as of yet. State your availability: Would you travel? Work full-time, part time? Any hours? I think my work is like traveling. Time and place are not any of my as they are related What was your most your modelling career so far?

concerns, as long with my work. memorable experience in

I was nominated as a Korean representative in a contest for Asian models held by Marykay Dream Beautiful in 2014, And there were 372,700 applicants. This led me to participate in Asia Pacific Competition with 4 day 3 night camp training in Hong Kong and I made it to the final. Every time my name “Hyewon Kim from Korea!” was called I felt a shiver go down my spine. I’ll never forget the moment when I started my walking before so many audiences and reporters from different countries, and that was the moment of my life which will be forever remembered.

Agency: Little People

Tell us about yourself.

Laura, aged 14, is a Danish experienced model. She started modeling at the age of 4 and has always loved being in front of the camera. She has done a lot of catalogs, advertising and has done a lot of runway jobs as well. Laura is also an elite gymnast and next year she will be trying to qualify for the danish national team in team gym. Laura is very serious about what she loves to do, she is a perfectionist and continues working very hard to make her dreams come true - her biggest dream is to become an adult international model, she knows how hard the competition is, but will definitely go for it if the height comes to 170+.

Laura has just shot her very first cover as a teen model for the danish youth magazine Vi Unge - might be sold in 60,000 copies, throughout Scandinavia. She has always dreamed about being their cover model and this time she got it!!!

How important is modelling education: Have you attended modelling courses?

No I haven't, I am very experienced and my clients always give me nice compliments for being professional. I walks a catwalk on high heals pretty good since she I 12, but hopefully my coming adult agency can give me some lessons.

What do you think makes someone “fit” to be a model?

You should always follow your dream, what you work hard for to get, you'll make it - believe in whatever you do, believe in yourself and listen to your heart. You need to have your family behind you, it's a must, they will support you anytime and they also take good care of you all the way to the top and they will support you on the way down as well - be true to whatever you do, always be yourself and keep your personality, thats what your agency and customers love about you.

What do you know about the advertisement industry, advertising psychology, and photography?

I actually know quite a lot about it because my older sister aged 18, has been working as a hand-model for LEGO for 3 years and they helped our family through a lot of things during our time working with them - my agency is always being honest about everything, no matter weather its good or bad news they need to tell you - that makes the whole family feeling secure about modelling.

You should always follow your dream, what you work hard for to get, you'll make it believe in whatever you do, believe in yourself and listen to your heart. You need to have your family behind you, it's a must, they will support you anytime and they also take good care of you all the way to the top and they will support you on the way down as well - be true to whatever you do, always be yourself and keep your personality, thats what your agency and customers love about you.

DK Katrine Catalan

What do you think makes someone “fit” to be a model?

How do you communicate with people? Are you patient? Are you friendly? How open are you to clients’ requirements?

I always use my good manners being on a shoot or at my agency or in any connecting from people wanting my updates for a job opportunity. I am always patient - otherwise you cant work as a model - the shooting is the smallest part of the jobs, but still the most important. I'm always open for any requirements - I'm also able and willing to travel - no job is too small for me, I simply love doing it, so I'm ready at any time.

How do you balance your studies and modelling career?

After school I do gymnastics 8 times a week, so I actually don't have much time left for anything else, but when my agency asks me for a job request, I'm in.

What is your dream role as a model? What do your parents aspire for you?

My mum doesn't aspire for me, she supports me in whatever I do. But my dream role as a model would be coming to the States and doing some shoots with the best photographers. Also, I wouldn't mind working for Nike, Adidas, Sara, Abercrombie or doing a cover for Elle.

Does she eat nutritiously?

Yes every day except from Friday, which is our family night. I do elite gymnastics so its not a good thing for me eating healthy food - even at my school we only have healthy lunches, my school is an elite sports school, so we all need to eat whatever it takes to be an elite sportsman.

As a parent, what pieces of advice could you give to the parents reading this?

Let your child be a part of this fantastic world as long as they like to do it, don't push them to do anything they don't want to themselves.

For the young model: Tell us your most memorable experience in modelling so far?

My Front Cover for the national youth magazine "Vi Unge", coming out on November 3rd.

What are your plans for Christmas Season?

No plans except from a gymnastic national competition - and spending more time with my loved family and friends.

Do you have any limitations? How do you define your boundaries when choosing to accept a modelling request?

Nudity is the only thing we don't accept, I am used to performing in shorts and a top either at the gym or at a job, but nudity and sexy photos is a no go.

State his/her availability: Would you travel? Work full-time, part-time? Any hours?

Laura would be able to work around the World as long as I'm with her (her mum). My advice to her being her is to work parttime if she gets the chance to do it, but finishing school and getting an education is a most for me before she can start as a full time model

What was the most encouraging experience you have as a parent?

Seeing my daughter succeed in whatever she choose to do - both her modelling, her gymnastics and her great personality and kindness to other people - what else is there to ask for as her mum?

What are the challenges having a son/daughter in this industry?

I think its the time you need to spend driving around, making sure she stays fit and healthy - also other people, kids and parents being jealous.

Any stories you want to tell our readers?

Laura feels very honoured to be featured in this magazine - she reads all your supporting comments on Instagram and feels very lucky to have your attention.

What fascinates you about modelling? I love the way a model uses his body as an instrument and how the model can impact another's mind with the right body language. Also, it is so impressive for me how the model has to think in every second but not show it to the camera or to the clients. How important is modelling education: Have you attended modelling courses? What related courses or studies have you taken? It is fairly important for the model to take modeling courses and keep learning new techniques all the time to be ready for what the industry demands. Yes, I attended one modeling course last year in Mexico and I went to a talent showcase this January in L.A. What do you think makes someone “fit” to be a model? The body is an important thing to fit as a model, but attitude is everything. If a model has one of the best bodies but does not have a great attitude, he or she is not going to make a relation, a match, with the client because maybe what the model is projecting is not what the client needs. What are your goals as a model? How do you see yourself progressing in this field? One of my goals as a model is the represent well my agency and together make a change the way society judges the fashion industry. I would love to be on the cover of magazines like Vouge or walk in fashion shows in Milan, L.A, NYC as well. How do you communicate with people? Are you patient? Are you friendly? How open are you to clients’ requirements? I do not consider myself as an introverted person, I am most of the time an open person, who can listen patiently what the other person is requesting for. For me communication is a very important skill because it is the only way that we have to create amazing things. Do you eat nutritiously? How often do you exercise or go to the gym? I am going to the Gym 5 days per week for around one hour with my personal trainer who helps me to train and eat better. I really enjoy being at the gym or swimming in the pool as a cardio session. What is your dream role as a model? Jon Kortajarena is one of my role-models. Do you have any limitations? How do you define your boundaries when choosing to accept a modelling request? I do not have any special limitations, but I like to understand really well the request and think if it is a good project to myself in that moment and in the future. State your availability: Would you travel? Work full-time, part time? Any hours? I am living in Mexico at the moment, because I am studying at university here but If I planed everything with anticipation I can travel to any destination.

Tell us something interesting about you, something inspiring. Don't be shy. :) One night I had a potential epiphany. I knew I had so much untapped potential built up in my heart, mind, body, and soul. Without a second thought, I booked a flight to Los Angeles, California for a week to begin my modeling career. I flew out by myself, the first time I flew alone and having a fear of flying, and met with some photographers and began networking. Ever since that night I have worked every day to progress in the industry through networking, scheduling shoots, doing my own hair and makeup, traveling, applying to agencies, and much more. I knew what I was capable of and now I am putting that energy in motion; making my dreams become a reality. It is moving slowly, but it is moving. How important is modelling education: Have you attended modelling courses? What related courses or studies have you taken? I believe modeling education is very important. I am currently in the process of looking and enrolling in courses. I want to be the best I can be and I believe the only way I can do so is through education. I feel privileged that I am able to take classes and not have to worry as much about costs; I wish there were more grants and funding opportunities so any model could be able to enroll without the concern of cost. At some point, I would love to collaborate on a way to make this possible. What do you think makes someone “fit to be a model? Passion. If someone has the dedication, passion, and drive to do or be something, then anything is possible in any situation. Simple as that. What are your goals as a model? How do you see yourself progressing in this field? As a model, my goals would include: becoming a role model for women of all body types, heights, skin color, and age, to be the best model I can, work with talented photographers, publishers, makeup and hair artists, and other professionals, and most importantly create art and emotion from the images I model for. Photography and modeling is more than pretty pictures; photography and modeling is an art form. An image is supposed to make a statement, highlight product, enhance features, and create feeling through visual senses. I see myself progressing in this field through education, experiences, traveling, collaborating, and staying true to myself and my passion.

What do you know about the advertisement industry, advertising psychology and photography? I honestly do not know too much about the advertisement industry or advertising psychology. I have received an Associate of Arts degree and Bachelor of Social Work degree and both degrees required a fair amount of psychology courses, but none were specific to advertising. I would love the opportunity to learn more about each of the subjects. Learning is what allows anyone to develop and progress! How do you communicate with people? Are you patient? Are you friendly? How open are you to clients’ requirements? Communication is key in any setting. I believe preparation in advance is essential to ensure success. In relation, having patience is a learned skill that displays professionalism. In my experience, nothing wonderful came from a rushed, aggravated situation. I have been working with senior citizens for 5 years and that field of work has allowed me to practice patience almost every day. I feel I have always been a friendly person, but I used to be quite shy. My senior year of high school I was Miss Loveland Valentine of my home town. My duties included visiting various organizations, local schools, senior living facilities, make speeches and deliver them to large groups of community members, and travel to the Denver State Capitol to meet members of the House, Senate, and the Colorado Governor. These experiences forced me to leave my shyness behind and blossom into the friendly, outgoing lady I am. Do you eat nutritiously? How often do you exercise or go to the gym? I am a smoothie lover. I love making smoothies with fresh vegetables and fruits, with added protein powder. I find myself craving a handful of blueberries at work, as opposed to a handful of chips. Knowing I am taking care of my body by eating healthy not only brings peace of mind, but internal, physical peace. I choose to be healthy both externally and internally. In high school I ran track for 2 years, but stopped due to my exercised induced asthma. During college, I made the decision to progressively build my cardio rates and workouts, and now my favorite exercises involve track running. I do what I can do workout every day, even if it is 30 minutes, but I do a more aggressive workout 3-4 days a week.

What is your dream role as a model? My dream role as a model to be a role model. In the past, I have been told I am not tall enough or skinny enough to be a successful model, and for a brief moment I considered starvation or limited eating to lose weight. I realised I am beautiful exactly how I am; everyone is beautiful exactly how they are. I hope to be a model that breaks the glass ceiling of the modeling industry to really represent petite models as a lovely 5'2" woman. During my Bachelor of Social Work degree education, I worked with a domestic violence shelter; a shelter that housed mostly women and children that experience domestic violence. These women were role models for me because they were the definition of strong. One day, I remember walking in and asking what I could donate to help these women and children, and the answer was new, packaged soap, shampoo and conditioner, razors, unopened toys, and other basic necessities. As a woman, I feel beautiful because I chose to feel beautiful; however, I also feel beautiful when someone does my makeup or after a fresh haircut. As a model, I hope I am able to have the resources to pull together a movement to provide women in these shelters the basic necessities and more luxurious items, such as makeup or whatever makes the women feel confident, and remind these women that they are all beautiful. They are not broken as a result of their harm. Every woman needs to feel that sense of self-confidence. Do you have any limitations? How do you define your boundaries when choosing to accept a modelling request? I do not shoot nudity. I define my boundaries by clearing stating them to the team I work with (photographer, makeup, hair artists...). If a situation comes up that makes me feel uncomfortable I will politely state it. I believe building rapport, if possible, before the shoot is key. It allows for me, the model, and the photographer to discuss any limitations, get comfortable with one another, and construction the professional boundaries of the shoot. State your availability: Would you travel? Work full-time, part time? Any hours? I would travel with 2 weeks’ notice, work both full-time and part time, and any hours.

Tell us about yourself. I’m a 19 year old model, I kind of stumbled into this industry, growing up I never intended or new my life would lead up to this point. I grew up in a very sheltered environment, you see I’m Jewish, not just any jew, I grew up in an Orthodox Jewish community, so for me being in a photoshoot where I’m asked to wear tights and high heels was the furthest thing from my mind, specially as my first editorial job none the less I loved it, it was the first time I was asked to get out of my confort zone completely and thanks to that experience and the many more I’ve acquired during my time in the industry I’ve understood fashion was about sending a message not about “looking pretty” like to many tend to confuse. How important is modeling education: Has he/ she attended modeling courses? Personally I have never been to modeling school, and I don’t think going to a specific modeling school can further your career. Modeling isn't about learning choreographed poses, everyone has a different way of expressing themselves. Modeling is an individual art form, every model is unique. A model needs to study themselves, their unique features and how they look best and most natural, even if that means standing in front of a mirror for hours. On the other hand to me studying fashion rather than just studying modeling is very important. Understanding where fashion comes from essential. Fashion is a social identity, a cultural phenomenon. What do you think makes someone “fit” to be a model? Once someone told me “You don’t choose to be in this industry, the industry chooses you.” We live in an era where the industry is expanding and is more accepting of non standardized beauty. So who am I to say who can and can't be a model. What do you know about the advertisement industry, advertising psychology, and photography? Advertisement is looking for “girl next door” type of beauty, In my country publicity is aspirational.

Advertising psychology is very tricky in my country, México, a lot of the times models don’t reflect what the vast majority of México’s population looks like and this is the product of my country being colonized all those years ago, it’s a very complex psychology, I wouldn't want to get into all that now.

Some people believe photographs steal a piece of your soul, in some sense I believe this is true, but rather than stealing I thinks it’s capturing a piece of your soul, the person that you are at that very moment.

How do you communicate with people? Are you patient? Are you friendly? How open are you to clients’ requirements?

I communicate with people by trying to understand their story, viewers need to connect. I am very patient, specially when it’s justified. I’m very opened to clients requirements as long as everything is kept very profesional.

What is your dream role as a model?

I think everyone in this industry is aiming to have the opportunity to work for an influential and prestigious brand.

Does you have any limitations? How do you define her boundaries when choosing to accept a modeling request?

My only limitation is myself. The sky is the limit.
State your availability: Would you travel? Work full-time, parttime? Any hours? I’m a keen to travel, starting to travel is my next step as I work full-time.

What pieces of advice could you give to the parents reading this?
Trust your child. Support your child’s career path, because not following a dream is the worst thing you could do.

Tell us your most memorable experience in modeling so far?
Walking down the runway, that feeling, the rush you feel inside, the cameras at the end of the pathway. Being behind the lens of a camera, connecting and feeling the photographers energy.

What was the most encouraging experience?
The first time I connected with a photographer, feeling the mood in the room and knowing that we where all working towards the same objective. That’s the moment I was 100% sure I wanted this industry for the long run.

What are the challenges in this industry?
It’s hard to trust yourself when you’re in and out of castings everyday when it’s people’s job to judge you.

I've had to go through a lot of things but I think growing up in an open adoption (even from birth) was one of the hardest things of my life. When your that young trying to accept yourself for who you are, when don't even know what your father looks like, it enevitably broke me down so much I had to rebuild myself, my self-esteem I had to take control and give myself respect and value. I know it seems trivial but that is definitely one of the most painful and difficult things I've had to deal with in my life. But luckily I was blessed with the most amazing parents and an older brother. Everything gets a return.

Finding out myself who am I ?? that's the moment when I felt I am alone in this world.... I was in search of me and still I am! At that moment I was like a kid who got thrown into some darkness, I didn't had any help to reach.... Then I realised that believing in myself and making my mind strong is the only way to reach the peak! I decided not to escape from the darkness but to light the darkness with my life! I decided to do Fine Art Fashion Photography which was the light in my life! That's how I overcome the toughest in my life.

he toughest moment I can quickly recall was the time when I was at the firing ranges as a soldier-in-training and trying to qualify. I had been practicing all week, but was missing my shots. All that pressure, with the instructors breathing down my neck, and the thought that I would not be able to graduate on time, literally made me sick. It took a couple of things, to help me overcome my situation, but the one thing that helped was learning to let go, to breathe while my eye was on the sight, as well as sharing my feelings with others and not keeping all my frustration inside. Looking back, I realize that trusting yourself and others will determine how much you can achieve as an individual or as a team.

How did you get to where you are now in your career?

Tell us something interesting about you, something inspiring. Don't be shy. :)

My name is Douce; I used to be a video producer in Paris, London and Singapore but I always been interested in photography. That's why I ended up being a photographer based in Hong Kong.
How important is modelling education: Have you attended modelling courses? What related courses or studies have you taken? I haven't taken any modelling education but always being aware of what's happens in this area. What person has been your inspiration in life? Who is your hero?

One of my hero, Vivian Maier. A wonderful photographer who was taking pictures only for her pleasure, she becomes worldwide famous only once she was dead.
Do you feel like you’ve met your goals and are successful?

I'm not yet successful, but I'm working on it.
If you had to do it over again, what would you change?

Forget about my advertising marketing studies and go straight for a photography formation. But maybe I wouldn't have met my husband... so I don't regret it completely!
What advice would you give someone who is young and wants to have a position such as yours one day?

Just do it.
 How do you stay inspired?

Avedon, Henri Quartier Bresson, Martin Paar, Pablo Escobar...
What photography related tips do you recommend?

Use only focal lenses and don't forget the pleasure of shooting with a film camera! How can people reach you for a job? And how would they know your rate?

They can contact me on my email: doucedivry@hotmail.fr
 What's your favourite camera?

Nikon F100 with port 400 and a 50mm.
Tell us about an interesting time when you were working with a model.

I loved once when I shoot a model in Hong Kong street. She was dressed in dark, very classy, and I made her walk around the fisherman sales, dirty streets, everyone was looking at her.

Tell us about yourself: Why do you want to work as a model? Why are you interested in modelling as a career? Modeling to me is the art of individual discipline and collaboration coming together to achieve something exciting, memorable, inspiring, thought provoking, all for the world to capture in their minds! I love the self discipline that goes into eating healthy, working out, proper sleep, practicing tequnique and skill, understanding the industry, etc. All in an attempt to continue growing as a model and as a person. When you combine that preparation with a group of other people who have done the same, it's absolutely magical for me! Creating something together, in a respectful, collaborative fashion doesn't get any better. The day after 9/11 I sat in my home and thought about what is truly important to me, what on my deathbed will I think about. The answer was and continues to be, Connections with good, loving people. This career allows me to do that on a regular basis, which makes me feel very fulfilled ! Also, my mother recently passed away. Which is the reason why I got into modeling. After taking care of her the last 2 years of her life, I became fully aware how important it is to follow your dreams. My mom was only 66 years old. I'm doing it for her as well. She is the person I look upto the most, the hardest worker I've ever known. She is always with me! How important is modelling education: Have you attended modelling courses? What related courses or studies have you taken? Modeling education is very important! Modeling education comes in many forms. Understanding yourself is crucial, in my opinion. Feeling genuine in your movements and thoughts gives the shoot a very authentic look. Getting advice and feedback from others is another important part of education. Observing others, whether it's their images or just walking on the street, is always very educational. What do you think makes someone “fit” to be a model? Personally, it's all about health for me. A healthy body, mind, and spirit gives me the confidence to believe I'm the right person for the job. What are your goals as a model? How do you see yourself progressing in this field?
I am someone who is attracted to a variety of different things. Getting involved in as many areas of the industry as I can is my motivation each day! Ultimately though, it goes back to what I said earlier, my main goal as a model is to connect with good people... giving me the ability to collaborate on a regular basis.
What do you know about the advertisement industry, advertising psychology and photography? I am a professional photographer as well. So, fortunately, I understand that side very well. Often times, I will even shoot myself. I think it gives me the ability to understand what is required of a photographer during a shoot, what they are looking for. My best attribute is listening. It gives me the ability to put myself in position, in a mindset, as quick as possible.

you

How do you communicate with people? Are you patient? Are you friendly? How open are you to clients’ requirements? My whole being is wrapped around how I communicate with others. Communication is an art for me. I take so much pride in how I communicate, both verbally and non verbally, with everyone I come into contact with! I am genuine, flexible, giving, loving, friendly, patient, understanding, and very respectful to clients requirements. Do you eat nutritiously? How often do exercise or go to the gym?

I do eat very nutritiously. Fortunately for me, my first job out of college was with a nutrition, fitness, and health & wellness company called SparkPeople. As a coach for them, I got to educate myself on nutrition and fitness, so it has become a way of life for me. Also, my fiance is a nutritionist and I exercise every day. Some days might just be a few walks with sweet Millie, our 7 year old lab/golden retriever, but most days I'm in the gym taking classes, running along the coast, or lifting weights.

What is your dream role as a model? My dream role as a model revolves around projects that are tied to things I believe in, things that excite me, things I have an interest in. Fitness modeling is something I'm passionate about because I've been an athlete my whole life. Underwear modeling has always appealed to me. Creative, editorial modeling is very exciting to me. Modeling for awareness and projects that help people are very intriguing to me. I have a strong appetite for life. Therefore, I have many dream roles! Do you have any limitations? How do you define your boundaries when choosing to accept a modelling request?

Yes, I have limitations and boundaries. For me, I just know them when I know them. I'm very open minded and flexible. State your availability: Would you travel? Work full-time, part-time? Any hours?

I am committed fully to my career - doing whatever it takes... travel, full-time, overtime! I love what I do! I want to work as hard as I can, as much as I can! Tell us what's your memorable experience so far. My most memorable experience so far is actually a music video I just did, with Golden Eagle Films, for Joanna Carlson's latest song "The friend that you are", which is a finalist in the Los Angeles Film Featival. The song is about connecting with another person, helping them overcome and find their joy. I got to portray and model that character, with a group of very loving and talented people!!

MY ASPIRATION IN LIFE REVOLVES AROUND FAMILY, CAREER, AND HEALTH... THESE THREE AREAS MAKE UP MY PURPOSE. I ASPIRE TO BE A LEADER WITHIN MY FAMILY. LEADING WITH COMPASSION, COLLABORATION, AND A HARD WORK STYLE. I ASPIRE, IN MY CAREER, TO CREATE BEAUTY... INSPIRING OTHERS TO FEEL A POSITIVE CONNECTION WITH THE WORLD AND THEMSELVES. I ASPIRE TO CONTINUALLY EVOLVE IN MY HEALTH, UNDERSTANDING WHAT IT TAKES FOR ME TO LIVE WITH AS MUCH POSITIVE ENERGY AS POSSIBLE FROM A PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL, AND SOULFUL STANDPOINT.

Emilia benefits greatly from her modelling agents, including studying catwalk skills, acting skills and style lessons. She also loves to dance, and I love to see her happy. This is the best part! Zara

Tell us about yourself and your (son/daughter). How did he/she get her interest in modelling and as a parent, how did you talk to her? Initially Zara won a modelling photo comp with Bardot Junior when she was five years old. Only recently has she decided to be represented by a modelling agency and got some work again, with Bardot Junior and Moose Toys. How important is modelling education: Has he/she attended modelling courses? What related courses or studies has he/she taken? She is focusing on her everyday school work. What do you think makes someone “fit” to be a model? Take instruction, be easing going while having fun. What do you know about the advertisement industry, advertising psychology, and photography? Little. How do you communicate with people? Are you patient? Are you friendly? How open are you to clients’ requirements? Yes bubbly, patient and friendly. Does he/she eat nutritiously? How do you balance his/her studies and modelling career? She is 10, so I don't focus on her diet. She will continue to model as long as her grades stay high. What is his/her dream role as a model? What do you aspire for him/her? Miranda Kerr, a country girl at heart but has done so much with her life and inspired others about looking after yourself. Does he/she have any limitations? How do you define her boundaries when choosing to accept a modelling request? Yes, if she is missing out on something important in school. I read the contract before accepting the job. State his/her availability: Would you travel? Work full-time, part-time? Any hours? We can travel easily as her dad works in the airline industry, but it would have to work around her commitments with school too. As a parent, what pieces of advice could you give to the parents reading this? My advice would be to keep the modelling a happy experience. I make sure and always check in at shoots to ensure that she is enjoying the experience and having fun. When they go for a casting, explain how they are looking for a particular look, there is nothing wrong with them. I was initially worried about the rejection, but she has been positive and loves it when she does get chosen. They are still little children, so it's important that they don't feel any pressure, and have fun with the whole experience. For the young model: Tell us your most memorable experience in modelling so far? My mum took my sister and me to a Bardot Junior store, and there were pictures of me all over the store. It was so exciting!

Tell us something about yourself. What you do, passion and aspiration in life? I'm a photographer in Atlanta. I truly love capturing small details anywhere I can. I want to capture the details of a wedding dress or the flowers in the hair of a model. Who is your inspiration in life? How do you keep inspired? I have photographers that I follow and love, like Dawn Charles. I love nature and use it a lot when I shoot. What is your aspiration in life? I aspire the be someone's inspiration. I want to become a better photographer with every shot and continue to spread beauty. We all make mistakes we wish we could take back. Tell me about a time you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague. I haven't had any problems with clients, so far, but I'm sure that the further I get into the business I will have to be flexible to the needs of others. When you’re working with a large number of customers, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. How do you go about prioritising your customers’ needs? I just try to listen to everyone needs and wants and make sure to facilitate as best as I can. Tell me about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities. Sometimes it's about speaking for people who can't necessarily speak up for themselves. I have had to make sure that the bride's needs are met when other people are trying to make things about them. Give me an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work. I am a very logical person, so rarely will I argue with people unless I have facts to back it up. If you have the facts to back it up, it is hard for people to argue. Tell me about your proudest professional accomplishment. I was asked if I wanted to be featured on this site, so that was incredible. My work with model Hunter Thompson has been featured online as well. Being recognised for these things has been an amazing accomplishment. Give me an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it? I have had to get very creative with angles to make people look bigger or smaller, just using my surroundings to be taller or getting on the ground. What was your most challenging encounter? How did you deal with it? Sometimes you have to swallow your personality and assist someone with whatever they need! I'm a very stubborn and head strong person, so that can be difficult. What advice could you give to the people who are reading this? Just do it! There will always be someone out there that is more talented, and that can be intimidating, but doing what you love because you love it is something not everyone can do.

Kseniya Bulakh

www.instagram.com/kseniia_bulakh/

Tell us about yourself and your daughter.
Hi! My name is Lyubov. About Kseniya, she is seven years. She is studying in the first grade. She loves professionally artistic gymnastics. She enjoys drawing. She is very creative and clever girl. What do you think makes someone “fit” to be a model?
Children's modelling differs from the adult. I do not think that in childhood is very important. If she wants herself more adulthood, she can become a famous and professional model. Now it's more of a hobby. What do you know about the advertisement industry, advertising psychology, and photography?
My work is strongly associated with the advertising industry. I have my own children's magazine "Owl detail" in Moscow in Russia. I try to follow the fashion trends, new brands and work with photographers and stylists worldwide. This area of me close and interesting.
How do you communicate with people? Are you patient? Are you friendly? How open are you to clients’ requirements?
I and Kseniya communicate very well with people. We have a lot of acquaintances and friends. I am very tolerant. While on the set, Kseniya behaves very obediently and patiently, performs the instructions of a photographer. Communication is important for me and the customer on a friendly level; model work is received with joy.
 Does he/she eat nutritiously?
There is a rule in our family healthy food. We eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Try not to skip balanced meals to a child growing up healthy and developed. Kseniya also likes sweets.
How do you balance his/her studies and modelling career?
Today at the forefront of education and sports. Modelling as a hobby now, he gives her teamwork skills, openness and the ability to reincarnate. At 14 she decides she wants to engage in more deeply and then perhaps it will be necessary to choose. Now the choice is not worth much. Until it turns to combine. But again-now for her modelling is more of a hobby and pleasant pastime.
What is your/his/her dream role as a model? What do you aspire for him/her?
Until she is just a baby and dream about simple things. She would like to travel around the world. So far, she has such a dream. I had the same dream that she was just happy. Does he/she have any limitations? How do you define her boundaries when choosing to accept a modelling request?
It is important for me to have had a good night's sleep, so she went to sleep early and not sat long for tv. This is a major limitation. In the model, the field I like mum, independently decides what projects my daughter will take part and which not.
State his/her availability: Would you travel? Work full-time, part-time? Any hours?
We would like to travel; there are many places in which Kseniya wished to visit. If there are interesting working proposals, we will be ready to go abroad to work. As a parent, what pieces of advice could you give to the parents reading this?
The most important thing that I want to say: love your children. And don't try to satisfy their ambitions for their account.
