Luis Cardan Fashion Stylist

Model: Miranda Heredia Photographer: Abraham Ibarra

Luis Cardan luiscardan@outlook.com @luis_cardan https://evolphotography.wixsite.com/photo-studio Country Mexico State / Region Aguascalientes Fashion Stylist ABOUT I studied at the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes Fashion Design in Clothing and Textiles, as well as a diploma as Fashion Stylist in Imodae; I develop within the areas of design, art, styling and photography. I like to work on any project since I can do it and give a satisfactory result. I create stories with a message that goes beyond reasonable and touch each person. Being a professional, I have worked as Stylist and Publisher Creator. For Flesh Magazine, Remix Magazine, EVOL Photography and Vogue Italia, also with clients for special events and their day today. I was selected in the work and cover in the 6th edition of the Brand Book. Exhibition in Spain for the Crystal Gallery of Centro Centro Cibeles, HYBRID MADRID Festival and Young Art "ROOM ART FAIR". 2017 Carry out the Curation, Illustration and Exhibition Assembly In the Museum of Regional History of Aguascalientes in the area of useography. 2017. Temporary Exhibition "Reencuentro". Moreover, I won illustration awards in Fashion. Our readers would love to get to know you more Luis. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you, your brand or the services you offer? I love the mere fact of creating in the field that is, the whole process that entails and being able to transmit a message and tell a story. My job as a professional is to provide a personalised and detailed service for each client, to obtain incredible results. Based on knowledge, professionalism, foundation, end of use and evident empathy. Luis, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Fashion Stylist? Passion is to create the power to express you. But you know the goal or what I love is the desire to transmit my message to others through my work, which is that they dare to dream and instill that the most significant force existing in the universe is love and if It is manifested in all its forms and endowed with everything we do in our lives, everything is possible. I think it was always, you know every day when choosing to dress insult to others, but formally it was four years ago when I started with the exact part. Who is your inspiration in life Luis? How do you stay inspired as Fashion Stylist? I have a long list of inspirations about art and fashion, but I always refer to Hanna HĂ´ch, Max Bill, Wassily Kandinsky and David Hockney, in fashion Gabrielle Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent, both for their vision, revolution through fashion to break the schemes dictated by society in all social, political, cultural and economic spheres. Speaking in an aesthetic context and on DELPOZO design by Josep Font, Raf Simons, CĂŠline, Dries Van Noten, The Row and ELLERY. As I keep, it is always to be in that constant search to activate all my senses to be able to nourish. We all make mistakes Luis; we wish we could take back. What was the error you made in the past that you want to you can bring back? So far I think that every mistake has led me to know me more deeply and that also as a professional, so I would not change or want to remove or add anything. Luis, How do you describe yourself regarding working with clients? I think the word would be love and execution because I do it for the client, because after all the development, foundation and planning that was done for the session or the project, the realization of this is the most important thing so that it can be expressed as such, let's say how it is in mind and take the message to be transmitted. Please tell us, Luis, how do you prioritise work, social life, friends, and family? It's just a matter of organising the time for each part of your life and giving it that priority at the moment. Luis, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully. The persuasion is part of this work must know how to use it, or it will end badly, of course, we must mediate the things to find the balance. I remember that for a personalized image consulting, after doing all the valuation and give the final result for the client was not the right one because I wanted to look like someone else to a celebrity which was not possible at all, with which as I said before is the middle point to give it what you want and put your knowledge as a professional and also show that persuasive part, at the end of the client sent me messages of thanks as the event that came to everyone told him how beautiful it looked. Luis, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Fashion Stylist. I do not rule out any because the fact of receiving comments and confidence about it is the best. Luis, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or challenging about it? It is always exciting and difficult, but after all the development, foundation and planning that was made for the session, the execution of this is the most important and adrenaline so that it can be expressed as such, let's say how it is in mind and take the message to transmit, that is why every element and detail about lighting, styling, fashion discourse, setting and the choice of the model must be meticulously taken care of. What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Fashion Stylist?* * The first is not to be afraid to take the journey on the path of creating, as second would be not to doubt whether you are right or not is subjective, for this you must practice, experiment, ask, feed on knowledge, search and preparation regularly, third to err and be aware that it was what escaped from our sight and improve. Moreover, finally, if it makes you vibrate you should not stop for anything and do everything with love, make it become a lover of your being. Are you interested to be referred to our private clients from the US, UK, Europe, Japan, Singapore, South Korea and Hong Kong? Are you able to travel for work? No Now for the best part Luis! Please upload 5-10 photos so we can get to see your work. Photo Credits: Abraham Ibarra @abrahamibarra.fp

Knox Gibson k.j.gibson@bigpond.com @captain_knoxie https://www.facebook.com/captainknoxie/ Mother Country Australia State / Region NSW Young Model ABOUT Knox is ten years old (turning 11 in September) and has a limb difference, due to an accident with a lawn mower when he was four years old, which resulted in a below elbow amputation. He “fell” into modelling after he was chosen to film an advertisement for Breeze Singapore after seeing a casting call on a peer group on facebook. He was cast specifically because the clients were looking for somebody with a visible disability. The ad was called “Dirt Erases Differences”, highlighting many different types of diversity and had a fantastic message. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8Y6rzRo_fI&sns=em He had so much fun on set that we wondered if he could get other types of jobs in the industry. He then filmed a Kmart Australia commercial for the Christmas season in 2016 which aired nationally and gave him much exposure. https://youtu.be/7cHGOpZ22Oo This led to a request for Knox to be an ambassador for Starting With Julius, a non for profit organisation committed to the equal representation of people with a disability in advertising and the media. He accepted and is a proud ambassador - it is so important that all walks of life be represented in advertising as it will lead to much more acceptance and awareness in the community, and increased positive body image for those who do have a disability. He has also filmed segments for 3 separate children's shows and was chosen to walk in the International Kids Fashion Parade in Melbourne in March last year, and was the only child with a disability to walk. He has also been chosen to model in various photo stills campaigns for different companies. Knox was featured in the Jr model magazine July/August 2017 issue with a 6 page spread and then in December was also featured in the Top 20 Edition. A couple of months ago he walked the runway at a fair trade show in Sydney. He is also starting to generate a lot more interest in Instagram being asked to collaborate and be a brand representative or model. Knox has a very "unique" look, but I think more and more brands are accepting and wanting to represent diversity. He is a natural in front of the camera! Now for the best part Knox! HIAGO MOREIRA

THIAGO, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model? Minha paixão, inspiração e essência é minha mãe. Mulher batalhadora, guerreira, linda e gentil. Who is your inspiration in life THIAGO? How do you keep inspired? Meus sonhos me mantem vivo, sempre que conquisto um sonho eu crio outro e outro. Essa é minha inspiração e motivação. Uma verdadeira busca de superação e ir além do que se espera. We all make mistakes THIAGO; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Model; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague. THIAGO, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs? Eu sempre ofereço 200% de mim em tudo que faço. O estudo e preparação do briefing e muito importante para chegar no dia do job já pronto para tudo. A conexão com o idéia e contratante é fundamental para um trabalho bem feito. Please tell us THIAGO, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Model? Minha maior estratégia foi vir para São Paulo, o mercado de moda em Minas Gerais e muito limitado. A decisão de sair de minha cidade foi somente minha. Na época minha agência mãe não queria deixar, mas eu insistir e sou grato até hoje por tomar essa decisão. THIAGO, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully. Nos castings eu sempre busco interagir com meu cliente com muito empatia. Podendo entender o que ele espera do meu trabalho e quais são suas metas. THIAGO, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why? Minha grande realização foi ser protagonista de uma campanha a nÃvel mundial, ver meu rosto passar no intervalo do oscar foi muito gratificante. THIAGO, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it? Não sou ator, mas já tive momentos de atuação e improviso que fiquei surpreso com minha performance. Foi emocionante o reconhecimento da minha facilidade de me expressar e comunicar. Acredito que isso vem de uma maneiro muito natural e também da minha carreira como gestor. What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model? Acredite em você, corra atrás de seus objetivos. Busque ajuda de uma agência séria e seja integro com seus valores e responsabilidade que logo o sucesso vem. Tjeerd Creative Director

Braat

Tjeerd Braat braat.theartist@gmail.com @brvvt_art_photography http://brvvt.com Country Netherlands State / Region Noord Holland Creative Director ABOUT STORY: At the age of twenty-six, I realized... Yes! This is it. I chose video over audio, and I was going into motion design. Over the years I developed from motion designer to director and together with Raoul Oei we transformed Just Another Nerd to a creative agency. My vision and gut feeling tell me where I need to go and which decisions I need to make. I follow my path full of creativity, visions and challenges. Follow me on my journey and get inspired. BLOG I want to share my work and inspire people. The style blog is there to share my style and do collaborations with different brands. Visual inspiration is a section where I will share my inspiration; this could vary from art events I visit or just really nice visuals, photography, film or art that I find online. In the work section, I’ll share all of my work like commercials and music videos that I create at just Another Nerd and the visual artworks I create as BRVVT the artist. CONCEPTS However, the thing I like the most is the sharing of ideas/concepts. People intend to keep opinions to themselves when they come up with something. They’re afraid of others stealing their ideas. That’s why I would like to do it a little different. Ideas that I have or concepts I come up with I will share in the concepts section of this website. I hope entrepreneurs or investors find something exciting and will execute some of the ideas. What would I want in return? Nothing. Helping each other and connecting with the world I find more important. It’s possible I won’t be the only one to share concepts on my blog. Drop me a note if you also have ideas or thoughts you would like to share with the universe. BRVVT 360 I believe that a brands’ communication always needs to have one look and feel and I’d like to help brands to define their style, create their visuals and help them communicate in the right way. Plus a rebranding is what companies can ask me for. These projects I do with several partners to get the best results possible. WORK As a director at Just Another Nerd agency, I’m mainly working on creating content for brands and agencies. I’m not doing this alone. I surrounded myself with a great team of professionals! Follow @justanothernerdagency on Instagram. Since art & music have been my two biggest passions in life, it was inevitable that I wanted to do something in the art industry. I recently started cumlaude.tv, an online digital gallery. Representing digital artworks of 4 artists including myself and selling these exclusively as prints in several sizes. Check out cumlaude.tv for collaborations, and other inquiries drop me an email. Furthermore, I hope you enjoy my visual story! Cheers, BRVVT

Our readers would love to get to know you more Tjeerd. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you, your brand or the services you offer? I love to create, images that are. Motion but also still image. Basic photography but I also like to lose myself in my motion art. I think what sums up the style of my work is colourful, arty, edgy, sexy and slick. Tjeerd, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Creative Director? I got my degree as a motion designer and evolved into a director of film and animation. Not only directing but still also creating images from the heart, my vision. My path of passion is to conquer the art world with my visuals. Who is your inspiration in life Tjeerd? How do you stay inspired as Creative Director? Everyone and everything around me inspires me. Vibes around me and exciting visuals I see along the way. Barnaby Roper is a director I have mad respect for. We all make mistakes Tjeerd; we wish we could take back. What was the error you made in the past that you want to you can bring back? I wish I've pursued my creative dream sooner. I worked in retail fashion for a long time so went to study at the age of 24. If I would have done it sooner, I maybe could have down the film academy as well, but because of my age, I decided to start working for myself and building the brand. Tjeerd, How do you describe yourself in terms of working with clients? Creative, open, social, communicative and always striving for the best result possible. Please tell us Tjeerd, how do you prioritise work, social life, friends, and family? work / love / family / friends Tjeerd, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully. Can't think of any at the moment Tjeerd, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Creative Director. Most of the time I'm most proud of the last project that I did. Tjeerd, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or challenging about it? My work is always creative, and I love it. If you can do what you like and make money with it, it's golden! My name is Fatuma, I'm 21 years old, and I was born in St.Louis Missouri. My big family of 10 moved to Seattle when I was eight years old, and I've been here ever since. I am currently studying English at Seattle Central College in hopes of becoming an author or teach children in Africa English. My parents left their home country of Ethiopia about 22 years ago to give my siblings and I a better chance at life. My favourite things to do are listen to music, eat, travel, read, write, swim, sleep, Netflix the list goes on! Fashion has always been a part of me ever since I could remember. It's part of my identity and has shaped the person I am today. You can learn so much about someone by how they dress and that is one of the many ways I can express myself. I've always been obsessed with America's Next Top Model, and watching it as a kid I always knew if I could be like those girls on the runway, it's my d e s t i n y ! Ho we v e r, b e i n g a B l a c k Mu sl i m American, I always thought my dream was far; out of reach. This year has shown me that anything is possible if you believe it. Moreover, I say this because my biggest blessing this year has been getting signed to my agency Seattle Models Guild. My heart is full of love and gratitude because never in a million years I would imagine I'd be a signed model! It's truly a dream come true, and I'm so excited to be represented by such a great company, and I can't wait to make SMG proud. Also, a huge thank you for contacting me to be featured in Model Citizen Magazine.

HAILEY

WILLIAMS

Hailey Williams williams.haileyj@gmail.com @70sbaabe http://williamshaileyj.wixsite.com/modeling Country United States State / Region NC Model ABOUT I have a bachelors degree in English, and I am currently working on gaining a masters degree. I am a new face in the industry, and I am looking to sign with an agency and be published. I mostly do editorial shoots, but I am open to walking in runway shows as well. Most of my shoots are high fashion, or period styled. I would love the opportunity to expand my portfolio and work with photographers all over the world! Our readers would love to get to know you more Hailey. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you, your brand or the services you offer? I am new to the industry, and I’m excited to see what this career has in store for me. I love to meditate and to read. Meditation has helped me in this industry with self-confidence, stress, posture etc. before casting calls Or shows, I ponder. I am Native American, and my roots are with those cultural practices. With my unique style and personality, I am looking to expand the high fashion world. I am a model that exceeds expectation in a variety of looks, and in nature. I use my love of books and my intelligence to improve every one of my shoots. Hailey, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model? As stated above, with my English degree I love to write. I would like to work with editorial magazines on columns and print work. My ultimate goal is editorial work for high fashion magazines such as vogue, and Elle. I began walking runway shows when I was about 9. I took a break while in college, but now I am back with full force and ready to make a name in this industry for myself. Who is your inspiration in life Hailey? How do you stay inspired as Model? My inspiration for modelling is Star Adams, a swimsuit model in the 1980s and 1990s, and also my aunt. Throughout this process, she hasn’t helped me understand the industry and has assisted me on many casting calls and shoots. Her experience has taught me a lot about my technique and how to improve. Motivation has never been a struggle for me, I go for what I want and make success happen for myself. Because of my aunt, my self-confidence has risen, and this has kept me inspired along the way. We all make mistakes Hailey; we wish we could take back. What was the error you made in the past that you want to you can bring back? I wish that I not take a break from modelling in college. I had a controlling partner, and my mother was not supportive of this career. Thus I took a break while in school Since then, I have chosen to speak up for myself, and no longer allow anyone to hold me back from my aspirations. I am finally putting my career first, and that has made all the difference for me in my life. I enjoy this work, and I plan on continuing despite previous protests I had. I have learned to live by myself, and although wish I had not taken a break, I see it as a learning experience. Hailey, How do you describe yourself regarding working with clients? Since I am so passionate about this career, I always enjoy the work. I understand the professionalism that is necessary for this field, but I am very personable. I am still polite, and punctual, and I enjoy meeting new people! Please tell us Hailey, how do you prioritise work, social life, friends, and family? I will always prioritise my career while balancing my social life. My friends have been the most excellent support system in this endeavor, and I cannot thank them enough for pushing me. The family is always a priority, but they understand my goals and respect my career choices. I am excited to travel and meet new people, which I then hope will merge work and social life. Hailey, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully. I used to work at a company that used a program that would scan invoices, create memos and reminders, track data, and transfer the data for interpretation into another application. Everyone was Accustomed to handwriting invoices and studying them however; I noticed that some of the data were being misinterpreted. I was able to persuade my advisor to spend more on a different program that wouldn’t require handwritten invoices and could transfer the data correctly. I was able to find the issue that had been occurring in the original plan and present this to my boss. I was able to fix an ongoing problem while making inputting invoices easier for all. Hailey, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. I have recently finished my portfolio, and I have been submitting to agencies. I have recently been invited to a casting call next weekend! Hailey, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or challenging about it? One of the most creative shoots I have been a part of was an underwater photo shoot. For this concept, there was no hair or makeup, only my natural self. This shoot tested my self-confidence differently, and at first was very challenging. This shoot gave me an opportunity to expand my portfolio, and check my abilities as a model. An underwater concept was exciting for me, and I knew that I wanted to participate no matter how difficult it seemed to be. I enjoyed working with the photographer and his team, and we ended up creating some great work! What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?* * Just do it. Don’t doubt yourself, don’t take time off, don’t worry that you may look “silly” in a pose or making the faces. Be confident in your beauty. Confidence shines more than anything, the walk, the looks, the “eyes”, all of that can be learned, but self-confidence cannot be taught. Love yourself and the art that you make. He said the plot should go one way and I said it should go another. Things started to get a little heated, and so I said "Hey. Let's stop. Why don't we go on a walk for a bit". On the walk, I calmly asked him why he felt the way that he did about the story. Then I did the same. In the end, we did go with my idea, but that doesn't matter. All relationships are about communication. Moreover, if you can calmly express how something makes you feel, no matter what the circumstances, you will never feel unheard. Please tell us about time being a Make-up Artist; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague. I didn't master being assertive a while ago, and that led to miscommunication with one of my colleagues. viorela, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Make-up Artist, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs? I work on a first come first served basis and deliver the same level of service - learned that while working for a make-up counter. Please tell us viorela, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Make-up Artist? I have to do that every day, managing business contacts, jobs and self-promotion. viorela, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully. I created a more natural day look for a client that only wore intense evening makeup on a daily basis. Showed her a softer side of herself that she loved. viorela, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Make-up Artist. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why? Lead Artist for Graduate Fashion Week 2017, the most rewarding and challenging job I had. viorela, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it? Avant-garde fashion shoots always challenge me in the best of ways; it is exciting to create a look without any boundaries, from scratch. What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Make-up Artist? Reach out to clients, be active on social media and keep on smiling! Damien Karan

Damien Karan intuishun.nyc@gmail.com @intuishun Website build still in progress. Country United States State / Region New York Photographer ABOUT I think what is unique about me is my ability to be very uplifting to my clients. I am extremely positive to work with, and there is never a dull moment when shooting with my models. I'm always happy, laughing, excited, and I try my hardest to make the model feel comfortable with the person they're working with! It's always fun to capture candid photos of them when they're smiling, knowing that I am the reason why they can have fun and laugh a little! Damien, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Photographer? One of my passions and aspirations in life is to be a motivational speaker in my neighbourhood. Growing up in the Bronx, I have met many people who regret not doing what they set out to do. Many in the Bronx have been subject to poverty. As it stands, we are the poorest congressional district in the nation -- it's sad to see that there are so many young people who aspire to be creatives not have a platform. I want to be able to develop a platform where they can hone in on their abilities and be able to be someone in life. Ever since I was young, I've had this dream. I've spoken to many people who have had aspirations of being musicians, painters and even photographers. My father (now 43), for example, regrets never being in a band when he had the opportunity to. I keep telling him that it's never too late, but with our standing as a family, he says it's too hard. I call BS. I don't want to see the lives of many young people who aspire to be artists waste away. It's time we see more young artists emerge out of the Bronx because it is a culturally diverse place here in New York and I feel that not many people pay attention to it. I want to be the ASAP Rocky of photography. If I can do that, I can do anything. Another aspiration of mine is to shoot for a wide range of brands/people/magazines. Some of these include Gucci, Vetements, ASAP Rocky, SuicideboyS, Vogue, GQ. I have such a long way to go, but I know I can do it. I look at a lot of Instagram photographers and see that they've had the opportunity to shoot with A$AP Rocky (whom I look up to if you haven't noticed, haha) and what not, and I'm like, How on EARTH did you get that? I think a lot of it has to do with your following and obvious connections. I have yet to make amazing connections like that, but at the same time, I am so so grateful for the connections I've made thus far. It's a beautiful thing, but at the same time I'm hungry, and I want more. Staying hungry is important! I got my start as a fashion/portrait photographer during my freshman year at Parsons School of Design. 2016 marked the year I got my camera, which was fully funded by donors; I could never afford a $3,000 camera, but I had big dreams, and I was determined. I was given this opportunity by my wonderful AP English teacher Mrs McCormack. Bless her heart. From there, I started shooting whatever I could. I was so fascinated by what this camera could do that I wanted to learn everything I could. Granted, I didn’t need the camera, but it was nice to have. I still use it to this day. Eventually, around August, I started getting into portraiture. I did my first shoot with a friend of mine who goes to NYU, who goes by the name Ewurakua. Intelligent and beautiful lady. At the time I thought it was so dope, so I began to do more of it, and I had lots of fun with it. That’s how the portraiture stuff came in. The fashion stuff came in because I was (and still am) heavily into streetwear/haute couture. I wanted to get into high fashion photography, so I pursued it, and although it isn’t that great, I make it my job, it is very dynamic in my look. Who is your inspiration in life Damien? How do you keep inspired? One of my greatest inspirations in life is my mother. She knows what I do, and although she can't sometimes understand it, she's always very supportive, and that's what matters in my life, more than anything. If I didn't have her, I'd be nothing right now, and I owe a lot of my success as an emerging photographer to her. It's rewarding to make her proud. Eventually, I want to be as rich as possible to take my mother out the hood. She doesn't belong there. She works too hard, so I want to try to alleviate that by working as hard as I can on my end. She's the person I come to for pretty much anything. She's an angel in her own right. Fun fact: we both have the same birthday. What a blessing it is to have the same birthday as my momma. We all make mistakes Damien; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Photographer; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague. I met this girl one day while I was doing work at The New School, and she was doing a fashion project for her midterm, and we just randomly spoke about photography and fashion. Eventually, I said that I'd like to help her with her project by shooting her clothing. She was very sweet at the time, but I met another friend through her, in which we struck an immediate connection. Since we both struggle with depression, we instantly bonded and became very close. She told me that the girl I was helping was talking smack about me. Knowing this, I was extremely pissed off, but I couldn't stop now. I embarked on this project, and so I ought to finish it, right? I even shot a VIDEO for her, and she still didn't stop talking smack, I felt used and betrayed. I was with her until 9:00 AM the next morning, still helping her. Never again am I doing something like that. I didn't even believe in it, to begin with, but hey, we all live and learn. Damien, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Photographer, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs? I go about prioritising my client's needs by asking them the look they're trying to go for. Many of them already love the look of some of my photographs, and so I try always to do something different while catering to their aesthetic needs. As I said before, my job as a photographer is to make the model feel comfortable in whatever he/she is doing. I don't want them to feel scared or uncomfortable because it will eventually show up in the photograph. So before we shoot, we would go out for coffee or food and talk about the look. Sometimes I like to take it upon myself and buy them food (many of them ask for Chipotle, haha). A great bonding experience is food, always remember that. Over time, we get to know each other and talk about the look we want to go for, and we discuss how we can do something that is dynamic. It is and always should be an agreement between one another. If it isn't, then why are you shooting? Please tell us, Damien, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Photographer? Recently I had the opportunity to shoot an editorial for 1990 Magazine. I was extremely anxious about setting everything up because it was all on me. I had no idea where we were going to shoot, whom I was going to use as a stylist, MUA, and models. Eventually, I decided to use models that I've previously worked with before, as well as an all-new one that I met from my job. She just walked in, and I asked, Hey, do you model? †Her face lit up with excitement. She says, Yes, I do! But, I'm not signed yet.†I asked if we could shoot sometime and we exchanged Instagrams. Great little moment. Anyways, since I was working, I didn't know what day to schedule the shoot, but I remembered I called out on a Saturday, so I used that day as a day to shoot. I hit up a stylist/MUA since we worked together. Finally, came the day of the shoot and my stylist couldn't make it because he was working on his midterms. I had to tell everyone to style themselves according to the look I was trying to go for as much as possible. Thank goodness they all nailed it. I couldn't be happier. I figured I would buy all of my models and makeup artist food to compensate them for their time because it was only right. I was extremely anxious during this entire process, but I had to keep my composure through it all, and I think we all killed it. Shoutout to Joyce, Ky, J, Natalie, and Ninoshkka for all making this happen. You all rule. Damien, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully. I remember there was this one time I was doing a nude shoot, and the model wanted me to use the light that was available, but there was not much light to begin. I had to stress to her that it would look very grainy especially if I have to bump the ISO up. I told her that it's best to use the flash because it'll give her the very aggressive look she wanted while not making it grainy. I took a few shots of her, and when I showed it to her, she was quite amazed at the look of the images. Sometimes you have to persuade them to believe you and how you work in order to make the vision come to life. Damien, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Photographer. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why? I think my proudest professional accomplishment as a photographer is the fact that I was able to shoot for a magazine so early on in my career. I'm very hungry for opportunities, and I always want to be on the lookout for any way I can get my work out there, so it's a blessing to be able to do that. I was anxious at first because Dylan Sprouse was on the first issue of the magazine and there was, a nobody (for lack of better term), shooting for their second issue. I had to find a way to make it look as good as possible. I am proud of that shoot because I was not able to lose my shit that day. I overthink a lot of things. I'm so gratefully for that opportunity, my team and I killed it. Damien, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it? A time I was able to get creative with my work was when I was doing a shoot with this nude model. She had a boyfriend at the time whom I didn't know, but I asked if he could join her and he politely accepted. He was African-American, and she was Asian, so I wanted to portray that love knows no boundaries. It is everywhere, no matter who you are, or what you look like. Especially regarding skin color. What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Photographer? I could give advice all day, but the single most important thing I tell everyone is to KEEP SHOOTING. You will not get better if you're not constantly shooting. Whether it be landscape, portraiture or street photography, you will always have to keep shooting if you want to evolve. Learn as much as possible, and learn skills that you can apply to what you can do. You'll be gaining lots of experience, and you'll feel more confident in your ability to capture images. It's always important that you do. Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for? Yes! Always! I am always on the hunt for people to collaborate with and do cool projects with. I'm looking to collaborate with clothing brands, magazines, and models to work with. I would love to be able to connect with anyone and everyone that comes my way. Photo Credits: Damien Karan@intuishun on Instagram

DENVER

PAGANETTI

Denver Paganetti denver.paganetti@yahoo.com @denver.joy http://denverj.net Country United States State / Region New York Photographer ABOUT I have been playing with cameras ever since I was a toddler. I took my first portrait when I was just three years old. As the years went on, I developed a deep passion for photography in the late years of elementary school. I took many photographies, fashion, and art classes while attending school. Years later, I created my own photography business after graduating high school at the age of 18. I am a New York-based fashion, portrait, and advertising photographer. I would best describe my photography as vibrant, modern, and experimental. I believe great teamwork between the photographer and the model is the key to creating beautiful visuals. I love coming up with creative concepts and paying attention to colour schemes while styling models. This results in polished looking photos that resemble the kinds of photography you would see in catalogues and shopping malls. Our readers would love to get to know you more Denver. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you, your brand or the services you offer? A unique quality about my service is that I strive to work together with my clients. Teamwork is something that can improve both the client's experience and the photos themselves. I'm always open to hearing a client's ideas so we can work together and make our visions become a reality. Denver, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Photographer? I've been doing photography since I was in elementary school. When I was around 13, I was in the rough headspace. Photography was something I found myself using as an escape. It wasn't until I was in my early years of high school that I realised pursuing photography as a career. Who is your inspiration in life Denver? How do you stay inspired as Photographer? My idol's name is Jon Bellion. He is a producer, rapper, and singer who came from where I grew up. His music contains powerful and truthful lyrics along with beautifully crafted visuals. He inspires me every day to keep pushing towards my success while also maintaining my originality. We all make mistakes Denver; we wish we could take back. What was the error you made in the past that you want to you can bring back? When I was a Junior in high school, I went through a period of low confidence in my art. My friends, teachers, and classmates all encouraged me not to give up. However, I ended up taking a hiatus from creativity for almost two years. Although I believe this situation helped me grow as an artist, I could've created so much art in that timespan that I will never get back. Denver, How do you describe yourself regarding working with clients? When working with clients, I believe it is the photographer's #1 priority to make sure the client is 100% comfortable while both are preparing for a photo shoot, and while the photoshoot is in session. Along with that, I believe teamwork is the key to creating beautiful visuals. Whether it be a photo shoot or a video shoot, if my client has any of their ideas, I encourage them to communicate that with me. I love hearing my clients describe to me what kind of artistic visuals they have. I take pride in bringing our ideas and visuals to life. Please tell us Denver, how do you prioritise work, social life, friends, and family? Since I am an entrepreneur, I believe work comes first. You must put everything into your business to reach success. Denver, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully. Before our album cover photo shoot began, I sat down with a client who is in the music industry and suggested we incorporate more colour in his photos. I explained that his Instagram had too many dark pictures and did not have any eyegrabbing colours that would catch people's attention. He agreed with me and ended up choosing a colourful portrait I took of him on that day as his album cover. Denver, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Photographer. One of my proudest moments as a photographer is when the clothing brand H&M discovered one of my photos and contacted me to be featured on their website. Denver, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or challenging about it? One of the projects I created was my magazine cover. The best part about it was the vision I saw in my head was finally brought to life. I discovered different shooting techniques, as well as trying out new editing techniques. What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Photographer?* * My opinion for those who wish to succeed as a photographer: go shoot. If you have a vision, grab your camera, and bring that vision to life. Don't hide your true self. The more you let your personality reflect through your lens, the more people will respect your work. Because it's original. Moreover, it's you. Photo Credits: Photographer: Denver J. @denver.paganetti@yahoo.com

John Anthony Gutierrez Photographer

John Anthony Gutierrez John@JohnGutierrezPhotos.com @JohnAnthonyPhotography http://www.JohnGutierrezPhotos.com Country United States State / Region Illinois Photographer ABOUT Hi, my name is John Anthony Arcilla-Gutierrez; and that’s the short version. I am a freelance photographer who studied photography and advertising at Columbia College Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. It was in college that I realised that I find joy when photographing people. A model, a businessman or a family sitting for a portrait, or a famous person could be in front of my lens, and I’ll photograph them to the best of my abilities. I’ll photograph them with respect, honour, and dignity. Perhaps the reason I find photographing people so enjoyable is that I am continually learning how to see myself in others. With each person, I photograph there are slight variations in the interactions that are exciting because I see the humanity of each person that connects us all in our individuality. There is so much that fascinates me that tranquillity is a must, so tranquil is the adjective that I’d use to best describe me, but, don’t confuse that with the idea of me sitting on the sidelines during a photoshoot. I enjoy giving direction to the models, and when they respond beautifully, only the best results are possible. I love seeing people smile because, in my opinion, they are one of the best ways to heal the body, mind, and spirit. We all know each one of us can't help but want to smile when we see another person smiling. I enjoy thinking - A LOT. You might notice that in several of my photographs I tend to have expressions of introspection and wonder. That’s because I believe that thinking is one of the best ways to connect with ourselves. I am great with lighting and composition; those are two favourites within my photographic toolkit. If I had to select a favourite, it would be composition because that is where learning various ways of seeing starts to be in play. It’s fun. It’s like going into another person's head to view how they see. I also like working in teams because, let’s face it, the best work arises from collaboration. Some of my favourite moments in my photographic career and journey include having my photographs published by The Source Magazine Online and Fox News. Any opportunity to have your images featured should always be welcome. If anyone would like to work with me, I am currently based in Chicago, Illinois. I am always willing to travel for work and photography, and I often visit California. Please feel free to contact me at john@JohnGutierrezPohotos.com, call me at 818.808.6084, and visit my website, www.JohnGutierrezPhotos.com Our readers would love to get to know you more John Anthony. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you, your brand or the services you offer? At 27 years old it's fun thinking about what makes yourself unique because you develop. At this point in my life, I'd have to say what makes me unique is the fact that I like to show the inner-workings of a person that I'm photographing. That's just my way of saying to the world, "Hey world, my mind is still thinking. What have you thought of today?"It is also a way for me to share that I believe we are all creative, artistic, thinking, people with that ability innately within us. It is something that we have from birth. I hope that viewers looking at my portraits or model photographs see that.

“I’ll photograph them with respect, honour, and dignity. Perhaps the reason I find photographing people so enjoyable is that I am continually learning how to see myself in others. With each person, I photograph there are slight variations in the interactions that are exciting.”

John Anthony, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Photographer? My passion in life is living for my family. I'll admit that my family is the centre of my world. I hope and aspire to be married, have a wife and child, and all the while working a stable, successful photographic career. I started photographing for fun as a child, and when the opportunity to take a photography course in high school, while still living in California, came up I jumped for it. Then I to Chicago, IL to pursue an education in photography and advertising. I graduated in 2015 and was already starting on my freelance work. Being a freelance photographer is no small deal. It was difficult and filled with struggles. I knew that I was on the right path when I spent 12 hours photographing Bone-Thugs-NHarmony during one of their performances. Who is your inspiration in life John Anthony? How do you stay inspired as Photographer? There is quite a bit of photographer who has provided much motivation and inspiration. The list could go on and on. I'd rather not single any of them out as a sign of respect to each one of them. Staying inspired as a photographer is easy. There is always something to look at and explore visually. Besides trying to light something or compose a beautiful photograph, I like to look at the textures of objects, peoples skin, their hair, and the sheen of the lights reflection. I also like to read books and anything that offers insight into the artistic creation, understanding, and thought. We all make mistakes John Anthony; we wish we could take back. What was the mistake you made in the past that you wish you can take back? The one mistake that I wish I could take back is thinking that I could do it all on my own. Photography is challenging as a one-person band.

John Anthony, How do you describe yourself regarding working with clients? I'd describe myself as seriously professional when working with clients. I know sometimes people like to have fun with clients, as do I, but when starting a new professional relationship, I am severely focused and professional. Please tell us, John Anthony, how do you prioritise work, social life, friends, and family? Work is always a top priority because without a means to survive, live, and flourish family friends, and social life is tough. I view my work, aside as a joy, as a means to provide, care, and share with my family and friends. John Anthony, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully. Working with an art leasing company, I had to persuade them that intellectual property was just as valuable as a physical object. It took discussion and prior knowledge that logically showed benefits and fairness to both myself and them to finally have them agree with me on the importance of photographic thought. John Anthony, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Photographer. My proudest moment as a photographer has to be the first time that I was offered to be paid, have a flight booked, and a hotel room reserved in New York for a client who booked me for photographic work. John Anthony, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or challenging about it? There was a time when I was photographing a model at the Hilton Hotel in Chicago's South Loop. It was exciting being in a grand location. Even more exciting was that opportunity to set up lights to emulate a night of a socialite being photographed for publications. The mind-state is something to remember. What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Photographer?* * The one piece of advice I'd provide to a person who wants to be successful as a photographer would be to reach out to people to collaborate on work continuously. Paid or unpaid, a photographer has to keep photographing. Photo Credits: John A. Gutierrez @JohnAnthonyPhotography

HLD throws tradition on its head, making fashion look effortless. This independent label has already reached great heights in its four years of operation, with participation in some significant fashion festivals and events, international editorial and a vast client base. ABOUT I did not study design but was taught by a beautiful mum from a very young age. She taught me how to cut, how to make a simple pattern, how to iron correctly and I started off making all my own doll's clothes. As I got older, I made all of my stage clothes (I am also a professional singer) and then only four years ago, my little label was born, and I still hand make almost all of my designs myself. Harlow Loves Daisy offers everyone the opportunity to wear distinctive bespoke pieces for women (and men) of all ages who are brave enough to step out of their comfort zone, so they can look and feel beautiful and with uniquely gorgeous designs and a strong brand identity, HLD is undoubtedly generating much national and international attention. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you, your brand or the services you offer? Harlow Loves Daisy’s Designer, and Creative Director Corinne Pettersen was born in Woodville, New Zealand, from a mixed heritage of ‘kiwi’ and Norwegian. Her love of fashion came from her grandmother, a beautiful raven-haired goddess who told her never to leave the house without lipstick, always hold your head up, your bottom in and your chest out and live by the mantra ‘sticks and stones will break my bones, but names will never hurt me’. Corinne would watch her enviously as she readied herself for the day ahead – beautifully manicured hands, bright polished skin, red lips and just a flick of eyeliner (‘because a flick of eyeliner will widen your eyes just enough to appear natural’). As a child, Corinne’s wonderfully talented mother would spend countless hours beautiful sewing outfits, not only for her two daughters but also for their collection of dolls and to this day, that memory stays with Corinne and has led her to where she is today as a designer. She credits her special gift to sew from her mother and her passion for style and fashion from her grandmother. In 2014 Corinne began creating designs for herself to wear and each time she wore one out, people would ask ‘Where did you buy this?’ and from this came a small silk collection of kimonos, kaftans and dresses which has evolved into the label it is today. A carefully curated collection for summer and winter in silk, sequins, velvet, wool, cotton and natural fibres, which also includes her hugely successful and very colourful Festival Edit. Corinne has never wavered from her vision … beautiful, timeless, sensual designs made from stunning fabrics, handmade with love, joy and humility. Her motivation…her family. Corinne, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Fashion Label? My grandmother was my early inspiration. She was beautiful. When she was 17, a Hollywood Producer wanted to take her to the US to be a movie star, but her mother would not allow it. So she became a Drama teacher instead. Along with my mother, she was the most stylish, fantastic woman I have ever met. Both my grandmother and mother taught me, and my fashion label depicts this. Beautiful. Proud. Brave. Designs for all women. Who is your inspiration in life Corinne? How do you stay inspired as Fashion Label? My family. My family are my heart. I am inspired daily by the love and support I receive from them. We all make mistakes Corinne; we wish we could take back. What was the error you made in the past that you want to you can bring back? Trusting in others. Giving too much of myself and being overwhelmingly hurt by some people over the years. I have learned my lessons, but the hard way. Corinne, How do you describe yourself regarding working with clients? I am an open and honest, and I genuinely love being a designer and helping others to look as fabulous as they possibly can. I can spend hours with one client, styling and help them create a look that they are happy with. Please tell us, Corinne, how do you prioritise work, social life, friends, and family? Jesus. Husband.Family.Work.Friends. My faith has helped me to get through challenging times in my life and will continue to. Corinne, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully. There are many examples over the years. It is about being assertive on what you believe in. Last year I was involved in a significant fashion festival. I was asked to choose the music for my runway participation. I decided what I felt was perfect for my models wearing my designs. The organisers refused to listen to me and accepted the music on my behalf. On the night of the runway, the models were unable to move correctly with the music as it was an off-beat type of song. At the end of the next show, I was able to use the music I had first suggested, and everyone seemed to be happy. Corinne, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Fashion Label. Enhancing the regional fashion series experience are behind-the-scenes fashion industry immersion, exclusive cocktail parties and artisan designer Trunk Sale, all complemented by farm gate produce and wine harvested within the Western District. Corinne, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or challenging about it? I am always excited at creating a new design. I think the most exciting was being featured in Elle Croatia along with Zimmerman. The piece I built was a gorgeous white coat with tiny roses and looked amazing on the model. I was very proud. What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Fashion Label?* * Be patient. Be 100% sure of your direction. Jessica Clarke

Jessica Clarke info@jessicaturnerdesigns.com @jessturnerdesigns http://www.jessicaturnerdesigns.com Country United Kingdom State / Region London Designer ABOUT I make my own knitted fabric to create stunning textures; it looks like a piece of embroidery. I then apply this to all my designs. Jessica, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Designer? I think I started because I have always loved art and textiles, it is a passion that has stayed with me all of my life. Everyone has their talent; mine was textiles, so I have used that to my advantage and set up my own bridal business. Who is your inspiration in life Jessica? How do you keep inspired? I wouldn't say who is my inspiration I would say what my inspiration is and they are things surrounding me. Mostly natural forms, like plants, animals, sea, earth, sky. We all make mistakes Jessica; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Designer; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague. When I was younger and selling my designs at a market, a shop owner asked if I would be interested in having my designs in his store. I agreed, and he basically took some samples of my work and didn't sell it but tore it apart and tried to copy my style. I didn't get him to sign any legal agreements, but I did learn my lesson, always have a signed agreement. Jessica, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Designer, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs? Unfortunately, I am not at that stage where I have a large number of clients but what I think is important for the client's needs is communication between myself and my brides. If you communicate with them and understand what they want there shouldn't be any issues. Again have everything you are doing for them, i.e. fittings, styles, fabrics, down on paper, so any alterations or changes along the way brides can understand there may be some extra charges. Please tell us, Jessica, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Designer? As I work for myself purely at this stage of my business I would I have to be strategic in many different ways? I work on yearly plans so for next year I want to exhibit in 2 exclusive wedding fairs, hire a social media expert, get ready to design for my 2019 collection and Jessica, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully. Consistent, I am always giving advice and style for a bride's wedding day. Jessica, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Designer. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why? Being able to exhibit at a wedding fair next year that is difficult to get in unless you have the right criteria, so keep an eye out for next year. Jessica, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it? I haven't done much yet, but I would love to try 'World of Wearable Art' that happens in New Zealand. You can get creative with this project, and it looks great fun. What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Designer? Find your niche as there is so much out there, don't try to design for everyone. Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for? Yes, I would love to do some video collaboration. Perhaps a creative storytelling idea, with music but staying on brand. He was born in Cameroon and moved to the states at a young age. Coming from a place with little to no opportunity, he learned to overcome and achieve as you will find out through his personal story. He was featured in Speakers Magazine with Les Brown. He is also a writer and writes articles on a consistent basis to help combat adversity and community problems. He firmly believes that all his successes thus far are a result of having a healthy relationship with God and hard work. With trust and faith, anything is possible when you work the plan. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you, your brand or the services you offer? One thing unique about me is my ability to think outside the box. I am indeed a servant leader and love helping my community. I am the Co-Founder of S&T Philosophies, and our company specialises in assisting students to build emotional intelligence. Our goal with your help is to take the curriculum we've constructed nationwide to as many schools as possible. We want our curriculum to be a required course for students to make as they don't teach this side in many schools. Stephen, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as an Influencer? I am very passionate about helping people or seeing people succeed. I want to help educate as many people in the world especially in areas that need this type of change. I started as an influence at the age of 12 because that was when I decided to dive in heavily on personal development. My first book at that age was Rich Kid Smart Kid then I transitioned into Rich Dad Poor Dad. Who is your inspiration in life Stephen? How do you stay inspired as Influencer? My ultimate inspiration is genuinely Jesus but to give you a more relatable answer I would have to say Daymond John hands down! I stay inspired by remembering my WHY for why I wanted to be an influencer. I didn't have much growing up mainly in my family, so I had to do something different to get different results. We all make mistakes Stephen; we wish we could take back. What was the error you made in the past that you want to you can bring back? Mistakes are very NECESSARY for us to succeed in life. I make mistakes daily so for me it is exciting to make mistakes as they only set us up for a COMEBACK. One mistake I made was earlier in my journey in entrepreneurship, and that is not believing big enough soon enough. Stephen, How do you describe yourself regarding working with clients? My intention is always genuine. That is the standard for our organisation and my personal life. I have a real interest to help you and vice versa. Please tell us, Stephen, how do you prioritise work, social life, friends, and family? In the early stages of your dreams and goals, you have to sacrifice your time with friends, family, etc. but at a certain point in your life, you can indeed live the balanced lifestyle. I a firm believer of living a balanced lifestyle and my best advice to help you with this is YOUR CALENDAR! I set reminders on my phone and on my calendar to help me stay on track for almost everything. Stephen, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully. Persuasion is the art of negotiation. I am still learning to master this art. For me, this is something I do every day so there isn't one specific time or example I can give to you. Stephen, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as an Influencer. Getting featured in this magazine and speakers magazine with Les Brown for proud personal moments. As for proud business moments, I would have to give it to the very first big deal we closed. Stephen, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or challenging about it? As an influencer, creativity is the basis for everything we do. So again, I can't give you a concrete example as I do this every day. It's always exciting to think outside the box and be creative, and as far as difficulties, I always welcome problems as they set you up for a COMEBACK. What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as an Influencer?* * This may sound cliche, but I would say DO IT. To provide you with three steps that helped me tremendously and a more structured set up: (1): Belief in yourself but for the young and old dreamers, DON'T quit your full-time or part-time job until your passion can replace the income from your post. (2): From 9-5pm you are working on someone else's dreams, and from 5-1am you are working on your goals. (3): Go out and NETWORK with your local community. Your network is your networth. Justin actor Mikkelsen

Justin Mikkelsen justin@justinmikkelsen.com @justinmikkelsenphotography http://justinmikkelsen.com Country United States State / Region Oregon ABOUT I have been a photographer since 2003. My absolute favourite style of photography is with models and commercialised style work. I hold a bachelor degree in graphic design with experience working in web design and development. Photography for me is about painting with light. I'm good at producing portraits with bright, even light, and I have fun when I have the opportunity to create dramatic shots with creative lighting techniques. My speciality, portraits, people, and things. In my heart, I'm a collaborator. I love input and ideas during shoots, so don't be afraid to speak up! Our readers would love to get to know you more Justin. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you, your brand or the services you offer? I've been told by experienced models that my style is something they greatly enjoy. They like how relaxed I am on a shoot, making them feel comfortable and calm while we are producing excellent images. Poses are essential, but not at the expense of looking natural. I believe in capturing natural motion, and the closer I can get to photographing someone in their natural state, the better photograph I will get. Justin, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Photographer? I started by taking a class in college. I wasn't particularly interested in photography; I just knew the professor was from my small hometown of Mt. Angel, and I wanted to take the class. He could have been teaching geology, and I probably would have done it, and I'm so glad that it was photography because I'm crazy about being behind my camera. My highest aspiration in life is to give my family a fantastic lifestyle. The cornerstone of that is being able to take my children to places around the world to let them touch and experience their education instead of learning it from a textbook. I haven't been many places myself, and know from those trips how my perspective on the world has transformed from it. I want my passion for photography to take us places where business trips are a part of our family experience, moulding my children's worldview with real experience that transcends small-town social ideas. Who is your inspiration in life Justin? How do you stay inspired as Photographer? I find much inspiration from looking at what other photographers are doing, and then getting out there and experimenting. It's so easy to get caught up shooting in one style that I sometimes forget that creativity drives and refuels my passion for the art, so I make regular efforts to expand my vision and try new things. We all make mistakes Justin; we wish we could take back. What was the mistake you made in the past that you wish you can take back? This is a hard question, not because I haven't made mistakes, but because I know the person I am today is a product of the successes and failures I've experienced in my life so far. If I could take one thing back, I think it is spending so much money on college education. I often wish I discovered photography and ran with it instead of having so much doubt in myself early in my educational career. Knowing what I know now, I could have been so much further with a little more passion and ambition 15 years ago. Justin, How do you describe yourself regarding working with clients? Open, creative, and collaborative. Working with clients can be tricky because my vision for something doesn't always align correctly with my client's vision. I think having the flexibility to see things from the client perspective and adapt is one of my greatest skills. Please tell us, Justin, how do you prioritise work, social life, friends, and family? My wife and I have 3 kids together, all three of the girls. Hands down, they are the most critical part of my life. I've heard it said that "the purpose of business is to fund the perfect life", and I am in full agreement with that statement. I work hard, and sometimes it's easy to forget that my family needs my time and attention too. What I do is both for them and for me, and they rely on me to be successful, so work and family are two priorities in my life that share #1. Justin, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully. L have and continue to work as a real estate agent, which comes with helping people see things my way all the time. I try to keep my opinions objective and well educated, which is something I use to sell people on my point of view. For example, sellers often think they will make more money by listing their house for more, but if the market doesn't react to that price, the reality is we are just dealing with imaginary money. 100% of the time, this method helps me determine how motivated someone is to sell their house. In all of my business dealings, whether real estate or photography, I always like to learn about my client and what they want, and then work with them. It helps take the barriers down right away when I seek first to understand and then act. Justin, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Photographer. It happened when I decided to get serious about photography and commit to creating stellar images. I am super proud of myself for realising that photography isn't just a pipe dream, and I have the talent, the skill, and the ability to learn and grow to become great at this game. Justin, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or challenging about it? I worked with a male nude model once, something I had never done before. I had the opportunity to do things with light that I had never explored before, and it was super fun! The challenge, however, was getting past working with someone in the nude without keeping certain body parts in the shot, something he wasn't comfortable with. The result from the shoot was quite surprising, and I keep having more and more ideas. It creatively pushed me, and I want to keep challenging myself, that's what makes me grow. What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Photographer?* * Don't be afraid, and don't compare your work to other photographers. Here is a reality. Many of those photographers that you envy look at your work and think the same thing. Be confident that your work is beautiful, admire and study the work of others, challenge yourself to grow, and let your work be your competition. The unique thing about your work is that it is yours, never try to become someone else, just become the best version of yourself. When I was working in real-estate the other receptionist did not believe me that it was essential to keep all things customers can see up-to-date, so I said let me update everything, and I'll prove the numbers in listings will go up, and sure enough, they did. Sometimes you need to show people to see and think outside the box and think open-minded. Brianna, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. My proudest moment would have been when I read a review from Peter Foote Photography, he is one of the best photographers I know, and I'm pleased that I got to work with him. In a photoshoot I did I was wearing a beanie, and the photographer gave me glasses, I decided to get creative and go some cross-eyed they turned out great! I have worked in many retail jobs, and as a result, a have learned what garments flatter different body tops the most. I love sharing what I know with other about how to style an outfit and wear the latest fashion trends that expresses who they are the most. Along with sharing what I know with my audience, I am always trying to learn new styles and ways to style fashion to also share with my audience. My Degree in Apparel Design helps me give advice as well because I know how a garment is designed from start to finish and how it will lay on a body. I am currently based in Miami, Florida where the city continually inspires me. I am always keeping my audience up to date with the newest styles I am finding and what lifestyle trends are the most popular at the moment. I hope to do more travelling in the future and expand on what inspires me. Hannah Marie specialises in: Style Fashion Trends Lifestyle Inspiration Our readers would love to get to know you more Hannah. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you, your brand or the services you offer? I would best describe myself as outgoing, spontaneous, and spunky. I never really liked fitting into a crowd, I would always use my sense of style to stand out in that crowd. Where I grew up, it was frowned upon to break the limits of fashion and what I was doing was never understood. No matter what people who say and despite the negative looks I got, I kept dressing how I wished and what truly reflected who I was. Moreover, good thing I did because as a result, my style skills improved significantly, I started a blog that is growing every day, and I feel like I am doing what I am supposed to be doing with my life. I always stay true to who I am through my post and build trusting relationships with my audience to help inspire them with their style. Hannah, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Blogger? My biggest passion in life is fashion and style. I love the way outfits can transform someone and give them a whole new wave of confidence. For me, fashion was how I found my voice. It was through how I dress that helped me discover who I am and where I wanted to go in life. Growing up I wasn't sure how to express myself, so I used clothing to express how I wanted to feel and how I wanted people to see me. Soon I started to notice how many people would compliment my outfit choices and how many people came to me for fashion advice with their style. That is when I realised I had a special gift that I wanted to share with the world and as a result of this, my blog developed. Who is your inspiration in life Hannah? How do you stay inspired as Blogger? The way I stay inspired is by watching the latest fashion shows, keeping up with modern street styles and favourite trends. The inspiration for fashion can be found from all around whether it is through a location or social movement happening and even if I am not purposely trying to be inspired by one it happens and has impressive results. Inspiration can be direct or indirect, but the outcome is what matters and how it inspires others as well. We all make mistakes Hannah; we wish we could take back. What was the mistake you made in the past that you wish you can take back? The biggest mistake that I wish I could go back and change is not starting this blog sooner. As I continue to grow my blog, I fall more and more in love with the process. It would have been nice to have started it earlier and have it inspires even more people today. However, if I did not live my life how I have so far, then I might not be where I am today. I love where my life has taken me so far, and even though I wish somethings were different, I may not love where my life would be. Hannah, How do you describe yourself regarding working with clients? I always try to show my personality through my post. It is hard, but I believe that I excel through this. I always try to be 100% honest with my audience when I am promoting a product. I want to give them my honest opinion and thoughts so that way I have a trusting relationship with my audience and the feel comfortable purchasing the products if they wish, that I promote. Please tell us, Hannah, how do you prioritise work, social life, friends, and family? Since I live my life through social media and my blog, I try to incorporate my work, social life, friends and family all into one. I feel like I am always working just by wearing trendy outfits during my everyday activities. Whatever I am doing I always carry my camera with me to document my experiences. These may include lunch with a loved one, drinks with friends, or exploring a new city with new people. My life is my work, and it is so amazing to share that with my audience and never have to worry about that one part of my life is overshadowing another part. Hannah, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully. For me, I successfully persuade people in my work through my post and the level of interaction that I get from it. It is all about staying true to myself, my style, and letting the world into what my life is really like. To be successful as a blogger, it is all about the relationship between me, the blogger, and the audience. It is through the engagement and the activity that I bring in, is how I measure the successfulness of my work. Hannah, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Blogger. The proudest part of being a blogger so far is to see how much my blog has grown from the little amount of time I have been working on it. Blogging is not typically something that you can be successful overnight, it takes time. Sometimes it is so discouraging to work so hard on a post and not get the results you would like. Slowly but surely it starts to grow and get the attraction, in those little milestone moments is where I feel the proudest about myself and my work. Hannah, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or challenging about it? I think that the most creative part of my work is putting together fashionable outfits every day. For me, it is a new opportunity every day to be as creative as I wish. There is an infinite number of outfit combinations to be created, and that in itself is so exciting. The Fashion Industry is continually changing and always giving us something new to try so that is why I love my work because it is always challenging me in the best ways possible. What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Blogger?* * The number one advice I would give to someone who wants to be successful as a blogger is patient. Building up a blog takes time and constancy, it is so hard some days to not have your blog be where you would like. Slowly but surely it starts to grow and pick up. It is those little moments of growth that will keep you blogging and continue to grow it.

Ali Zaman

Ali Zaman ali.zaman@att.net @alihzaman Country United States State / Region California ABOUT My name is Ali Zaman, and I am a student at UC Davis studying Chemistry with an emphasis in forensics. I am an aspiring male model. Growing up, I did not think that I could ever find myself doing photo shoots and taking pictures, but my friends and family gave me confidence that allowed me actually to start an Instagram. Upon doing so, I received a tremendous amount of positive feedback, and I believe it is time for me to expand even further and let the world know that anyone can become a model, regardless of his or her weight, height, and gender as long as he or she has confidence. I want to help people get out there and take pictures, and not care what people think of them. I have much experience in working with various locations and would love to travel around to make a positive impact on other aspiring models lives. Our readers would love to get to know you more about Ali. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you, your brand or the services you offer? I would consider myself an aspiring male model on Instagram. Never did I imagine that I would even use that term to describe myself, but I have received so much positive feedback. That showed me that I have the power to make a change in people’s lives. I want to show everyone that anyone can become a model as long as he or she has confidence. Ali, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model? My aspiration in life is to help others and make people happy about how they view themselves. I always height myself as being scrawny, and seeing all these buff male models was scary to me at first. What am I compared to all these models that everyone is willing to use as wallpaper on his or her phones? I wanted to prove society wrong and showed them that everyone is perfect. Standards aren’t everything in life. Who is your inspiration in life Ali? How do you stay inspired as Model? My first inspiration is my best friend, Sharon. She has always shown me what real confidence is and her story and modelling career is so fascinating to me. She is fantastic, and I love her for making me believe in myself. My second inspiration is Saba Qamar. She has broken all types of standards in the Pakistani fashion industry and culture, and she’s honestly doesn’t care about what people say, which I adore about her. We all make mistakes Ali; we wish we could take back. What was the error you made in the past that you want to you can bring back? One mistake that I would love to take back is wasting endless hours doing nothing. There is so much out there in the world to see and so much to explore. We only have one life, so why not live it to the fullest? I feel like I’m getting better at becoming more adventurous now. Ali, How do you describe yourself regarding working with clients? I would say that I am a very humble and down to earth person. I love everyone’s company, and I love to make people laugh which many people enjoy. I would also say that I’m very punctual and will have everything strategically planned for the day, with a backup plan in my mind just in case anything goes wrong. Please tell us, Ali, how do you prioritise work, social life, friends, and family? It does get challenging to manage family, friends, school, and finding time for modelling but I always keep a planner and have my entire month planned out. I’m so specific that I have everything planned or by the hour. My planner is my lifesaver. Ali, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully. One time, while I was working for my dad’s company, there was a scenario in which I had to convince other team members to sign a specific paper for the prosperity of the business. A lot of the team members thought this was not going to help the company, so I decided to use PowerPoint visuals and provided paper documentation to support how it would positively impact the company, and they appreciated my efforts and understood it. Ali, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. My proudest accomplishment would have to be taking pictures in front of huge crowds. I used to be afraid of being judged, but YOLO. Ali, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or challenging about it? Once, while I was a photographer for my friend's photo shoot, I had to creatively think of a way to incorporate greenery in the background. Given that California is in a drought, it was hard to find the perfect Florida theme in the valley. I found a green shrub in an abandoned parking lot and made it work for the photo shoot, and it was such an exciting feeling when the pictures looked perfect, just like we were standing in Florida. What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?* * I would say never give up. It always seems hard at first and it may even be heartbreaking to see that no one is noticing you, but always be confident and have ambition to be one hot model that will break the internet one day. Now for the best part Ali! Please upload 5-10 photos so we can get to see your work. Photo Credits: Sharon Clawson @sharontheclaw

I began my journey by opening up an Instagram account to share my style, not knowing one thing about what niche I was looking to inspire, let alone how I would even describe my style.

Malvika Sheth stylebymalvika@gmail.com @stylebymalvika http://www.stylebymalvika.com Country United States State / Region California Blogger ABOUT It’s been six months since I decided to put my deepest passion to action, and I can safely say that taking that intimidating leap, of putting myself and my voice around style on social mediums, has been the greatest learning process thus far. I began my journey by opening up an Instagram account to share my style, not knowing one thing about what niche I was looking to inspire, let alone how I would even describe my style. As weeks went by, however, I realised that there was a certain artistic feel to my daily pictures, in the outfits I was wearing and poses I was striking. Moreover, none of this was fabricated, or copied–they were naturally who I was. After some reflection on my wardrobe and asking myself why I dress the way I do, the seeds of my mission statement were sown. Mostly, my mission is to empower the driven dreamers of the world to embrace fashion as a creative outlet. However, getting to this statement took me the full six months, and throughout this process, I saw the need to expand my social presence to mediums that indeed allowed me to communicate that mission. For instance, I opened a Youtube account to provide more transparency into the behind the scenes of how style is incorporated in my daily life and travels, and I also have a website wherein I provide style advice, keep my readers up to date on trends, and address pertinent issues and controversies inherent within the fashion industry. Driving traffic to both my website and youtube channel meant I needed to find another social platform wherein my audience could easily be informed of new posts, and thus my Facebook platform was born. Would you like to complete our full Editorial interview or skip straight to uploading your photos? (12 more interview questions). Yes Our readers would love to get to know you more Malvika. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you, your brand or the services you offer? As an Indian girl who grew up close to Los Angeles, the city and place full of dreamers, I was always torn between being that ideal smart, diligent, studious Indian daughter and following my dreams. Growing up, on the one hand, I loved fashion, but on the other hand, I was pretty good in school and my extra-curricular of Indian Classical dance, piano, and girl scouts. I so wrongly believed that getting into fashion would be an "indulgence" of sorts that would make me deviate from what I would call a very traditional and narrowminded version of "success," where everything you do is to get into an extremely prestigious college and land a job at a top firm that pays well. However, for creatives like me, our passion, at some point, will outweigh this narrative. I now believe that you can strike a balance between hard work and dreams if you marry the two, and create your version of success. I try to remind my readers of this when possible--in fact, my mission statement is "style by and for the driven dreamer." Malvika, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Blogger? My childhood dreams of someday being a respected name in fashion, coupled with my growing education in Marketing, was my inspiration for starting my blog, and I am so happy I did because it takes me one step closer to my dream. Plus, I get to inspire people along the way! Passion is necessary because as a full-time student, who is also involved in several activities on campus, being a fashion blogger is no easy ordeal. If you're in the industry, you understand that there is a high volume of fashion/beauty content creators that create at such a high velocity. I try to stick to a schedule of posting 2-3x per week on my blog, posting 2x per day on Instagram, and once a week on the Youtube channel. It’s undoubtedly much effort, and sometimes when your audience isn’t responsive, it’s easy to lose motivation. I try my best to keep myself motivated by reminding myself that what I’m doing is, beyond just a passion, for the sake of my childhood dreams.

Who is your inspiration in life Malvika? How do you stay inspired as Blogger? Mindfulness propagates inspiration for me. I take inspiration from every moment in life, whether that be in the form of artistic inspiration or even life lessons. I believe there is a whole lot you can learn from the world if you listen and pay attention. We all make mistakes Malvika; we wish we could take back. What was the mistake you made in the past that you wish you can take back? I wouldn't take back any part of my past. Even though I sometimes say I wish I had followed my passion for fashion earlier, I'm so grateful to have been a dancer, girl scout, pianist, and diligent student. Each of these taught me the importance of hard work, and actually, dance is still something that I practice and is very close to my heart. Malvika, How do you describe yourself regarding working with clients? I'd say I'm quite open-minded, yet smart, but I'm always excited, above all! Please tell us Malvika, how do you prioritise work, social life, friends, and family? I schedule in time for every thing--from daily exercise to daily time to message or FaceTime my friends, to even time spent with family. I know the importance of happiness and that being unhappy and over stressed is detrimental to the work that I do, so I make sure to make to-do lists and use google calendar to it's maximum. Malvika, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully. I do not think I have had such experiences as of yet, but it will be interesting to see when I do! Malvika, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Blogger. No one accomplishment in specific. I consider each sweet, direct message or kind comment an accomplishment for me, but beyond this, I'd have to say it was when a small publication known as the Boston Voyager reached out to me very early on in my journey to do a feature. That felt quite rewarding. Malvika, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or challenging about it? I think in the field I am in; I have no choice but to get creative every day. I have to be creative in finding myself opportunities and working my butt off when I get a hold of them. Not just regarding collaborations, but also regarding utilising what's going on in my daily life to present to my viewers. What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Blogger?* * Just do it. Get over your inhibitions and fears and defy the norm if you have to. It's worth it, and you never know whom you can inspire. Are you interested to be referred to our private clients from the US, UK, Europe, Japan, Singapore, South Korea and Hong Kong? Are you able to travel for work? Yes Now for the best part Malvika! Please upload 5-10 photos so we can get to see your work.
