Let’s be involved in our kid’s everyday agenda, between school and social activities. Most of all let’s love and protect our children. We are raising future leaders.

Few months ago, she was crowned as Miss Youth National South Africa Finalist 2022. Overcoming challenges Being a girl, time and again you meet those who doubt your capabilities. It does mean that they are wrong or right but time will reveal the truth. The secret of success is to work on your gift and talents. Yes! It is not going to be easy like walking in the park

One of the days, the tables will turn around because excellent cannot be suppressed. “I have managed to overcome many challenges because l am blessed with a wonderful supportive family and friends who loves me unconditional without considering my weakness or my mistakes. Women empowerment Depression is huge among women and they will never get to really deal with it because they are told to snap out of it. This is why modelling is very important in the sense that it empowers women to be confident with their body, skin colour or abilities. If she could change anything about modeling it would be the view that people have towards short and plus sized women in the industry. “I feel that there are a lot of petite and plus sized models who are innovative and passionate enough to leave a strong mark in the industry and enforce change in a number of things however their opportunities to do those things are very limited.” she said In the next five years she wants to have made her own contNibutions towards the community and the modelling industry. “I want to develop my skills in business, commercial and runway modelling and I also want to be in a position to impart knowledge just like what others did in my journey.”

THE GOODNESS OF MONEY
M
oney is everywhere but not everyone has it. It has got nothing to do with geographical location or the state of the economy. Money has got ears, it goes to the person who is calling it. Money has got feelings, it stays to where is warmly welcomed, take care of and appriciated. Money is generous, it invites more of her friends and close relatives so that they can grow, expand and increase on a daily basis. The way you think about money determines what you do about money and with money. Money does not accidentally come to you. You have to work for it. In fact, you have to work harder. The law of attraction vindicates that you only attracts what you constantly think of and do. Can l ask you a simply question how much time do you spend thinking about money? Remember that we are coming from a society which does not allow us to think about money. They strongly believe that if you love money too much, the chances of become a prostitute or theif are too high. How do you expect to be financial expert if you rarely think of money. Just think about it!
quences of your actions. Whether, you have got a degree, running a business, earning a lot of money, coming from a rich family or you are skilled in a certain area. Understanding of money makes you to get in control of your money not to allow money to control you. In a conclusion, money is not evil. Eradicate the negative mindset toward money. It is wise to note that not all rich people are evil. It does not mean that they are doing corruption, fraud, robbery, prostitution or using rituals. Wealth is the state of the mindset, everything starts inside manifesting outwards. I urge you not to ignore the subject of money. Also, find something to do that can brings cash at the end of the day and find ways to expand it. This is a simple formula for wealth. Written by Kudakwashe T Muganu

QUESTION AND ANSWER : DONNA Full name: Name Donna Nyarai Murimwa Age :23 What inspired you to become a Radio Presenter ? Miss Donna: Growing up, I always had a ‘different’ voice from every other little girl and because I talked a little too much, I was always nicknamed ‘karadio’😂. When I then grew up and worked for a radio station as a finance intern, I got a chance to interact with the on air personalities on a personal level and that’s when it became a reality, this is what I was born to do. Do you enjoy being famous? Miss Donna: Yes and No I do enjoy the freebies and attention that come with it but at times, most of the times
actually, I enjoy my privacy. If one thing you could change about Social media, what would it be? Miss Donna: I cringe everytime I see how savage replies to a post are celebrated and glorified. Termed ‘vhawulence’ with laughing emojis. Can you tell me a little bit about how you got started. If I were given the platform to change anything on social media, it would be to enlighten the masses that behind every post is a human being with real emotion, that no amount of clout chasing and likes is worth affecting someone’s mental health negatively. friend and big sister I never had. That balance has and will always stand out for me. What is your least favorite thing about doing this? Miss Donna: My least favorite thing about doing radio is being famous. Before you come at me, fame has its pros and cons so a deliberate effort to keep your life private can be a daunting task lol
Which Radio Presenter do you follow the most? Miss Donna: KVG She embodies everything I wanted and would like to become What is one falsehood you have said in one of your blogs? Well you do reckon, there is always an element of truth in every lie right?! That being said- During one of our shows, I may have mentioned that I was dating Kundai Benyu (a prominent footballer). Well it never happened but I always found him very breath taking. (Still do lol) If you could be someone else for one day, who would it be and why? Miss Donna: I would so be my mum. Besides the fact that she is a strong woman who handles every hard situation with such poise and grace, she is the best

If you could be someone else for one day, who would it be and why? Miss Donna: 5. KVG- with no shadow of a doubt. Career wise, she embodies everything I wanted and would like to become. Whats your favorite thing about being a radio presenter. Whenever we get the chance to broadcast
outside our studios and interact with the listener in real time, the most common comment we get is how radio for them is therapeutic. How they can be going through stuff and one joke made on radio makes them laugh for the first time (if not only time) that day. If could be someone else for one day, who would it be and why? Miss Donna: I would confidently say to anybody aspiring to be like me, DONT! Do not aspire to be like me. The world already has a Donna but they don’t have you. Aspire to be you! Aspire to be the best version of yourself possible and God will reward you for it! What’s the dumbest way you’ve been injured? I STEPPED ON A NEEDLE in the dark and I don’t wanna talk about it Have you ever had any setbacks and if so, what were some of them? Miss Donna: Setbacks are inevitable and my major one was when I had to stay off air for quite some time because I was ill. It taught me however to be grateful to God for the times that we are in good health, something we really take for granted. What do you do about nasty or negative commenters? Miss Donna: If I’m being honest, the negative comments I get on a regular are a drop in the ocean. Im grateful for the positivity that oozes from the Listener everytime I’m doing what u love to do. Being an intellectual, I take some of the negative comments as constructive criticism and the rest as some attention seeking behavior which I just laugh off, literally

MY MISSTEENGLAMSOUTHAFRICA SEMIFINALIST JOURNEY
Who is Chamaine Chamaine is a 14 year old teenager located in Pretoria, sibling to 2 sisters and a brother. A model from childhood, a leader as well as a God fearing extroverted young girl What inspired her to join the pageant? Growing up in a household where she was the darker skinned daughter she felt the need to inspire other children in her community as well as other communities that they are beautiful regardless of what their skin tone was or their body shape nor size. She also joined the pageant to help uplift her community as missteenglamsouthafrica has given her the platform to help all those in need and add hope as well as shine a light in their lives Hobbies
He favorite hobbies include singing, modeling, coaching young children modeling basics as well as public speaking and poetry. As a first year high scholar she is learning more and more about her country in order to uplift it and play a role in having a better South Africa What she would do if she won the title missteenglamsouthafrica 2022 If she wins missteenglamsouthafrica 2022 she intends on creating more opportunities to help acknowledge all the teens, youth as well as young children of South Africa to educate them of their country and give opportunities to all the young businesses minded women in communities as they will be able to create employment opportunities and reduce the rates of unemployment in communities Challenge I’ve faced as semifinalist I like referring to my Challenges as obstacles as they help me grow after I’ve overcome them. One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced in the pageant industry would be society beauty standards as society has expectations of what you should look like to be a model, your body size, tattoos , your height or specifications of what society portraits as beauty .I’ve learned to overcome these obstacles by having a positive mindset and positive self motivation to keep myself going from society negativity .I remember one day when I told a woman from my community that I was in a pageant ,her first reaction was “aren’t you too big for modeling”. would be another thing I would change if I won the title as it would bring down the high beauty standards society has. Support from family and friends My community members, family and friends support has helped me go the extra mile especially all the children who look up to me as a role model to them because of my achievements and what I’ve done for my community. Their support has helped me overcome every obstacle I faced with even the smallest support emotionally or financially. Even the small things matters, the motivation I get too keep me going. MY MISERABLE LIFE ABUSIVE HUSBAND TRUE STORY because I loved him a lot and back then he loved me too.
I
met my ex in high school 7 years ago, when I came to Zimbabwe only for few months. I then left Zimbabwe and we stopped communicating. I later found a new lover in South Africa who then impregnated me. After giving birth, my Zimbabwean guy texted me on social media and he said he still loved me and said I should come back. I told him “I have a child,” he said it does not matter… but I couldn’t come back due to some reasons. Years passed by we all dated and broke up until we both tried moving on but failed, then 2020 he had trouble with the law in Zimbabwe. He asked me if he could come to South Africa and I told him to come because we had officially gotten back together. I helped him simply
26
He later came to South Africa I looked after him but my family was really against it they didn’t want me to be with him at all, but I didn’t listen. As day went by, he started beating me up and I would tell his mom ,one day a message from his mom he said maybe she behaves like this because he sees you don’t have money. I was so hurt beyond because I knew he had nothing before I even agreed to take him back ,but we fixed and moved on. Months passed I fell pregnant to his baby. We suffered a lot food wise home and all; it was the toughest moment but I never left his side. We started staying at an orphanage and we were no longer comfortable with the way we were treated, things got really bad until he went to look for something to make money from the n’anga (Sangoma ) Before anything else I saw it the time he got home, I asked him whats this? it was just a root I took it and threw it away then I said if I die, then so be it am not letting you do muti ,for sure I did not sleep that night ,then months passed he would beat me ,but I loved him so much. Then his family called him back to Zimbabwe for a job they

never gave him and left me in South Africa I was 8 months pregnant by then but he did his best to take care of us. Then me and the two kids followed after 3 months I had given birth We started staying with his mother and father for some months he was in Harare then he came, things were ok that time. An issue started when I could hear his mother gossiping about me and my older daughter it would hurt me the most, so I had to tell him one day and said “can’t we find our own place because here I can’t stay anymore”. He said ok and we started looking for a house to rent but things didn’t go as I had imagined. After some time he would beat me to an extent that my hand was dislocated for about 4 to 5months. Things were now terrible in the house that even his mom and I were no longer talking and his mother didn’t hide the hate for me anymore, but I loved my man so much that I saw like my life was nothing without him. Then I decided to go to one of my relatives. I spoke to my husband about visiting my relative and he agreed then in the morning they said if she is going let her go she should take her daughter with her, I was so hurt beyond because she was going to crèche there. I said it’s ok am
leaving this place I went to her crèche teacher she said”there is a room here you can come” I went there for 2 days , the crèche teacher looked after us. One day I saw my aunt and she sided with my husband’s relatives. I was so disappointed because I couldn’t go cry to my family, they are never there for me. My Aunt came with an angry look because of what my husband’s relatives had told her,she said pack let’s go back to your husband’s home ( I was now staying at a crèche remember), at first I told her I did not want ,then I got angry and said to her how can you take the side of the people that hurt me so much?. I later agreed to my aunt’s demands and went back to my husband. On our way home my husband then told me that “when we get home I will only take care of my daughter and not your daughter…” My daughter knew him as her daddy, My husband started distancing himself from her ,she started asking mummy why does daddy hurt me so much , it was painful 💔 and heart-breaking a lot. I couldn’t take it and we broke up. After 4 months we reconciled but there was a condition not to bring my daughter in the marriage. My family said go in time you will talk to him ,so I did ,but when ever I would speak to him about her, he would change the mood. I would ask him to visit but yoooh. One Saturday my daughter came , then he said Sunday let’s stay home ,I didn’t like it but I had to play along because I had planned to take my child to church, anyway Monday as he was leaving… My husband said when is she going back? I said I was thinking Wednesday he freaked out, “why why do u do things without telling me first,” then he said “when I come back I want to find her gone” ,I cried like an orphan that morning called his mom told her she sent him a voice note ,I still have it.. It did not change anything so he came back I did not talk about it As days pasted I spoke to my sister and asked if she could take my child for just a while because she was no longer going to school at all .Then she said ok bring her. That morning my husband took away my phone, he was now abusing me emotionally and physically. I was so tired of him hurting me then to
cut the story short i called my family telling them that he is abusing the child. For that night we spoke about me choosing my child, he later forced himself on me saying am still his property if am still under his roof. I was so hurt, he overpowered me and satisfied his desires on my body. I cried while he came back on me repeatedly until he was tired ,the following morning he did not speak to me or say anything Days passed he was not buying food or talking to me. In all I would go cry to his mother. I thought she was on my side. It got painful because I was breastfeeding and I was not working, so I would ask my landlord for food and she would give me sometimes. Then I went to fetch my child from my sister, he told me that “ I told you i did not want your child in this house” ,he was saying that in front of her, I was destroyed inside. He was heartless, so that Saturday he didn’t come home then Sunday morning he came and bathed. We were going to the same church, his brother came took him with his car they left. I waited for someone to take us to Church. From Church he left early came and took almost everything. When I came back, my landlord just said he left ,and he had said to her “I told her handidi mwana wake Pano saka imi Sarai naye,” I said ok ,so when I went back into my room i cried so much thought of different ways to end my life. Her take on international pageants like Miss Universe now accepting married women Seipati Muthelo sais “ in my opinion I would say miss universe they now want to close the gap of the young mothers, who got Married young ,have kids at the young age so that they can showcase their dreams also. Trying to give them opportunity to fetch their power back as pageants is now not only beauty but is programme that brings different women from different background with different personalities. But during their reign, wouldn’t they face problems like, “The queen can’t attend this event because her husband has denied her. The child is sick ... etc. Immediately when you decided
to enter such competition like this one you must know that they will be so much sacrifices you need to balance like juggle your family time, work and your pageants commitment. Again I would say before you signed up you need to seat down and discuss the matter with your husband to agree on before you decide yourself.
He gave her the go
ahead.
What advice would you give to your kids when they want to get into this modeling industry? The advice I will give them is that be yourself don’t try to be someone else , know your A game and I will say just go for it if its something that you have passion about it because you will never know She has a carrying and support- the potential you have or what ive husband. MISS ICORAFM CROWNED
N
okwazi ndwandwe is a 25 year old model from the small disadvantage area of umtubatuba kwamtholo, south africa. Her primary reasons for embarking on miss icora fm 2022 was not only to show the world my capabilities but she wanted to be the voice of those whose voices has been muted and to be the mirror to my fellow youth especially those who grew up in disadvantage areas; to show them that they can achieve their dreams and goals regardless of where there are from as long as they believe in themselves and put both your mind and soul in it. As a self-made woman who advocate in self-love and selfacceptance she wants to show them that showing our flaws and our imperfections is a great help for us to build confidence and face the crowd.

“Youth is a phase of life where there is energy and power to take any challenges; at the same time it is tricky as they are too emotional in a way that they can go against their characteristics, but the good thing about this phase is that they can literally make any impossible possible. What i’d say to them is that, think beyond your imagination, spread love, humanity and unity. Avoid temptations: you’ve got to be a soldier because street is military. You can go with the crowd or you can make your own path the ball is in your court see it and make right off it. Your moves will be understood by those who were never meant to join you on your journey”, she said “As miss icora fm organization doesn’t only focus on beauty, it also focus on women empowerment and leadership skills. I’m hoping to learn more about the importance of embracing social responsibilities in my community. To boost my leadership skills, interview skills and my selfconfidence and also to achieve values of a positive attitude” she

added Winning the miss icorafm she felt very excited and scared at the same time so basically she had mixed emotions. “ Winning miss icora fm was a huge achievement for me but i had a little fear of the responsibilities that comes with the crown”. I give thanks to icora fm for giving us such an amazing opportunity to show them and the world what we are capable of, my mother and friends their support always pushes me to do bigger and greater things in life.. And i’d like to thank all my supporters their support is appreciated. My message to other models out there is that, they must believe and themselves and their capabilities. They are beautiful in their in their own way, they must have humanity and have a heart for people, respect everyone you meet regardless of their one’s race or religions. In whatever tasks you given or the work you do put your heart and soul in it so you shall reap fruitful results Miss iCORAFM took place in Umfolozo Resort Empangeni KZN South Africa
GET TO KNOW: ZENANDE FOUNDATION
Z
enande Foundation is a non profit group that functions independently of any other government. It is organised on community to serve a social goal. My mission is to take up the responsibility of fulfilling social needs that ought to be fulfilled by the government ,such as providing for the disadvantaged, providing basic needs most importantly sanitary towels for girls .Zenande Foundation aims to the vicious cycle of poverty and to restore hope for a better future . I believe everyone has the right to access resources and opportunities in order to live and develop dignity; therefore I will use my private victories unselfishly by trying to create value for others. The problem we facing as girls in the rural areas is lack of sanitary wear, privacy drives majority of the girls away from school. Girls prefer to stay at home during menstruation for the fear of getting teased by boys, staining their uniform as well as unclean toilets. “Girls between 10 to 16years old are severely affected by the lack of proper sanitation facilities, including water, toilets, clean surroundings and napkins.” My wish is to be able to help bring change in their lives but I am still in search of sponsors. I would also like to educate boys about menstruation like I need their attitude towards
that to change. I dont only want to focus on uplifting girls but boys as well, “The Focused Boy Campaign “helps mould the boys into respectful and responsible men .We mainly focus on improving their lives, if the boys are not smart at school we shift our focus to what they are good in or talented in and try to make them grow out of that .We will also provide programs that will keep them away from Substance
comes out from helping many people as much as I can . I believe inspiration is not what’s done to or for you, but you can also be inspired by what you do for others. Lorraine Zenande Nyilika is a 19year old purpose driven ,goal oriented and business oriented young lady .Originally South African .I am a model ,a business lady and a Leader .Right after I finished high school in 2020 I took a gap year so that I could really identify what is it exactly that I want to do because I was confused .I have never imagined myself on camera but that was the year when another career started .I have been

a video vixen for a full year now .The first video I appeared on was Boi Boi by Jah Prayzah that’s when I became passionate and gave the whole idea a room .I was once on the likes of Teekay G ,Ma9 and now on Poptains latest song T-shirt Chena I realised it’s not a hard thing after all ,you just need to be yourself. Women are more vulnerable and many people think being a vixen is more of being loose, that’s not the case!!!Being a model is about more than just beauty, the secret is not being perfect. What one needs is a face that people can identify in a second. You have to be given what’s needed by nature and what is needed is to bring something new .The idea of Zenande Foundation started way back when I was in 5th grade I remember I would always say “when I grow up I want to establish an old age home “when I finally grew up a little that’s when the idea of helping the ones in need came into existence.

QUESTION AND ANSWER XIMIYETO MAKHUBELE
Name : Ximiyeto Makhubele Age : 19 Location : South Africa, Limpopo Giyani I am not in any Modeling agency When did you start your modeling journey? I started my journey in 2018, at the age of 15 whereby I entered a local pageant called Miss teen exclusive Maltown. I was so happy when I got crowned as the first princess and after that I got the courage to continue on and on. Currently which Pageant are you competing in I am in Miss Remarkable South Africa. The journey has been a long one yet very motivating and encouraging. I am now one of the finalists for Miss Remarkable South Africa
What is Miss Remarkable about Miss Remarkable is a national pageant ranging from juniors to seniors. It has 3 pillars which focus much on Gender based violence, bullying and mental health. It’s a pageant that is there to build the youth of today into being the future leaders. Lastly it is all about teaching the contestants multiple life skills such as learning to be comfortable onstage, gaining poise, determining the best way to present oneself and to be fierce . When will be the finals It will be on the 12th of November 2022 at Mpumalanga ,Witbank civic theatre. The show starts from 9:15 am till late and the tickets cost only R200 Have you ever been bullied? What’s your take on bullies and bulling? I have never been bullied in my life. However when it comes to bullies and bullying, it is a very critical concept. We may not all relate but it’s something we always come across. That’s through friends, close family members or just someone we know. I feel like it’s very wrong, more especially to the victims since this can raise traumas
and may not be something easy to deal with after the incidents. To the people who are bullies out there, it’s very wrong to do such.. Of course all bullies have reasons on why they started such behaviour but there are different ways to deal with situations. One of the ways is to open up to a phycologist or someone you feel comfortable with. There’s always a way to solve issues peacefully... Where do you see yourself in the next 5years? 5 years might look far but it’s actually so close. I always wanted to be a high fashion model and I see myself become one even before then. I always plan to travel around the world. Not to forget the biggest goals as a model thus being the next Miss universe. Lastly, as an IT student I also see myself as the next best software and web developer.

REIT: MENTAL HEALTH, A SERIOUS ISSUE Seeking a professional help nowadays is now cheap, if one feels like opening up to their close circle might not be a good option then there is always a better option. Today she can proudly say she is free from Anger issues all thanks to the professional help she got from the South African government and her close circle.
Mental health is a very serious issue and we as people are trying to ignore it.
M
ental disorders such as Depression, anxiety, anger and others must be taken serious and people must be made aware of mental disorders. Mental disorders are all about negative impact in one’s life. If a person close to you is not mentally health it also affects you in one way or another, in most cases people who are affected by mental disorders do not survive due to lack of communication. A true story is about Reitumetse Mofokeng. She was diagnosed with a mental disorder of Anger issues back in 2018, what led her to have anger issues is that she was a non-communicator and was not able to open up to anybody and that was slowly killing her inside. Having a strong circle of influence around you is one of the things that will help a person to overcome their fears and obstacles but mostly sharing and opening up about what’s eating you inside. Write down about your worries, your pain and your fears it might help.
Reitumetse Mofokeng is a 22 years from Bethlehem in Free State. Currently she is a second year Law student at UNISA. She started modelling at the age of 10, took a long break from modelling until 2021 that’s when she got back into what she love the most, entering a National Pageant Miss Township South Africa. She is very passionate about Modeling and her passion led her to launch her very own Modelling agency (Dignified Modelling Agency) based in Free State. Ever since she decided to come back to modelling industry she has received lots of compliments about how she inspires others to never quit despite the circumstances. She entered Miss Universities of SA in June 2022 and made it to the finalist level through voting. Her journey in this pageant has been nothing but a great pleasure because, given educational tasks and charity works has to be her favourite part of this journey as she has learnt and is still learning a lot about herself and others. “It has given me an opportunity to explore and come outside the box. I cannot wait any longer to rock the stage now.” She said She believes we can change the world through education.
