“CORRUPTION AND POLITICS ARE DESTROYING THE INDUSTRY”-PRINCE OF THE GOLDEN CITY
“Being the current Prince of the Golden City is an honour as, I am given the chance to inspire and become the voice of the voiceless,”Clever Mutero. Kwekwe is one of the cities in Zimbabwe located in the Midlands province. A province which is rich in a number of naturalresources including gold.
However when one does his or her research well, you will find that even talented models derive from the Province. One of those is Clever Nashy Mutero (21),the first Prince and Mr Personality of kwekwe. Who is also signed under
Zimbabwe’s exclusive model agency,Top model Agency, which has produced a number of Zimbabwe’s most talented models. The 21 year old said he is proud of his home town and said his home area is rich when it comes to the modelling sector. However the downfall of the country’s economy has acted a dark could to a number of upcoming models as it has made some of them,to throw away the towel of their dreams.
“Kwekwe is a very small city, which consists of so much talent, unfortunately because of the state of the country’s economy and that modelling in our country is not taken seriously this makes us the youths of the Golden City not to be given or not to have the opportunity to show our talent and put Kwelwe on the map,he said.
The 21 year old model further said that a number of young models who are still dreamers in kwekwe are seeking topursue their dreams in big cities such as Harare and Bulawayo. The Prince of the Golden city said besides, the downfall of the economy which has pushed other models to seek greenerpastures from other towns and cities, corruption and politics have also played the role of push factor.“Our city is considered to be less active when it comes to
making dreams come true, there are factors which can be considered to put Midlands province on the map if people come together. “Let’s put our brands together and make our Midlands to be recognised if only we stop politics and corruption in the industry we can go far,” he said. Mutero encouraged young models from Kwekwe and across the country to believe in their goals and not to give up in their dreams.

| MODEL GUIDE VOL 13| JUNE | 26 Well firstly modelling on it’s own has great opportunities to meet tons of amazing new people but most importantly l chose modelling as a career because l have been driven by creativity and hand in hand with my passion l felt it has to be my thing and before l even ventured into it people believed l was just by seeing me so I’m like why not . I have been a model for a year now but I’ve been born ready. l haven’t fully achieved a lot.But how hard l am trying to achieve what l want that zeal on it’s own is my greatest achievement but definitely more to come. I just like anything in life modelling industry comes in with so much rain and sunshine. It has a lot of hurdles and if you are not strong enough you will be abused. Dignity and self respect as well as discipline are some of the few elements that have helped me to overcome the abuse that is in the modelling industry. If you accept all kind of nonsense from males or even females you’ll become a doormat. l have never allowed denial to be my worst enemy never it all comes to emotional intelligence. And not forgetting the support I get whenever l stumble
Grooming the girls starting from the age of 13 so as to allow them by the time they start competing they will be a cut above the rest and will be able to attain international posts . Also Models should come together more often and together we can discover so much more l believe in unity. As well as the fact of sponsorship it’s definitely a key to the door of this industry Being fully recognized has been one of my major problem and sometimes you realize well after a certain fashion show how greatly you could have qualified so l still need to build on my foundation of being well established Modelling has built a new me that am in love with.It has given me the ability to differentiate myself as an individual being careful not to allow other people to define me .My confidence level has blossomed and l know that when l walk l bring fire it’s not a walk in the park.It has allowed me to showcast just how beautiful l am if am not on the runway l am working as an assistant at an educational institution
Abruptly Broken
Everyone wants to be happy, But that happiness can be ripped away from you in a second This minute you are happy and the next minute you are not, And you will think that your happiness was just an illusion Well, that’s how life is He was what every living female could wish for He was what every girl dreamt of. The personal magnetism, he was perfect in every sense An Italian god, that was what he was, And they called him, “Everyone’s type” How do you fight the addiction? How do you fight with your own heart? Just being with him drove me crazy Just hearing his voice would make me change my mind about anything. Yes’ I was addicted to him; I craved for him I mean who wouldn’t, those lips, those eyes, and the way he would look at me. And I knew I would go to the end of the earth with him... I knew already I had drowned. He not only loved me, he adored me and that I knew or I thought I did? He didn’t have words to say, I kept the conversation going. He wanted me somewhere, I was there in a blink. He said come, I would go. I would have traded my life for his if it was necessary, That’s how deep my love for him was. Because when there is love, there is life. Suddenly it all changed He changed, How could he tell me to let go? How could he tell me to move on? How dare he tell me to erase the memories we shared. My happiness, he didn’t think of that
