What is the inspiration behind your line Hemant & Nandita? Our inspiration has always been India and its diverse culture. The architecture, the people, the religion and the colors have molded us into the people we are today. All of it makes its way into our collections in some way or another.

Your designs have such a strong sense of femininity, from the silhouettes to the fabrics; soft designs that still feel empowering and strong. Can you talk about what goes into creating your garments? THERE ARE 5 STEPS THAT WE FOLLOW: 1. Research: Looking for inspiration and deciding what mood we want to create. 2. Colors: What palette we want to use and what fits the season. 3. Silhouettes: What bodies we want to use. 4. Prints: What we want to explore. 5. Execution: How we want to style and shoot the garments.

Are there any rules to fashion you live by? When designing a collection, our first priority is always comfort. It is important to us that our garments are both airy and trendy for our women during all of their travels.

Best advice you've ever received? The best advice we have received is to “be true to your aesthetics and always be grounded.� We like to keep this in the back of our head to keep us motivated while collaborating on new collections.
What's next for the line? What can we be on the lookout for? We have a ton of exciting things happening in the future. You can definitely be on the lookout for a lot of party and holiday wear in our upcoming seasons. Of course, it will include trendy and versatile pieces.

What are 3 major fashion trends you’re seeing for this Summer? This summer we are seeing a huge tie-dye comeback. We also are seeing a lot of flowy floral prints on dresses and skirts as well as silky mini dresses – which are always perfect for this season.

On a scale of one to ten how excited are you about life right now? 10! I feel like so many good and exciting things are happening to me at this point in my life. And I have a feeling it will only get better!
Who should EVERYONE be following right now? Me! Just kidding haha. Irene Lara and Laurie Ferraro who were on this trip as well. They are such inspiring and creative women, I’m so happy I got to spend time with them!
Favorite season? Spring! I love all the pretty blooms and colors that come with it. Also fashion wise I love this season ‘cause it gets warmer but not too hot, so I can still layer, which is one of my favorite things about fashion.
If you could switch lives with someone for a day who would it be? Hailey Bieber. So I would get to spend time with Justin haha
What you love most about being an Influencer/Blogger? Being able to ‘influence’ someone’s life, thoughts, style. Helping people out in any way possible gives me the greatest satisfaction. Also traveling and meeting amazing inspiring people. Biggest misconception about what you do? That this is not an actual job! I think I work harder than a lot of people I know. I work 7 days a week, from the moment I open my eyes ‘till I go to sleep. I haven’t had an actual vacation with my husband in 2 years. What is the best thing that happened this year? Signing with DBA and being able to work on some big campaigns. I feel like this was a milestone in my career and an opportunity to a lot of exciting things in the future. What’s your favorite brand? Right now I’m obsessed with Jacquemus! What are your 3 favorite Summer fashion trends? Bold colors, statement headbands and puff sleeves. If you could sing a duet with anyone, who would it be? I really CAN’T sing! I’ve proven that during our karaoke night on this trip, so I wouldn’t do this to anyone haha
What’s your favorite country to visit? Peru. I went there last year and it was mind blowing. Can’t wait to go back and explore more of the amazing nature and culture. What are your plans for Summer? Hopefully travel to Europe! I haven’t been in my home country Belgium in two years, and I would love to see my friends and family. And I would love to stop in Italy on the way too haha. Upcoming projects you can tell us about? Lots of things in the pipeline, I’d say stay tuned! Heels or flats? That’s a hard one! Really 50/50 on this, I love sneakers and sandals but I never travel without some pretty heels either. Lipstick or Lipgloss? The combination! I never leave without lipstick, and in the evening I love to top it with lipgloss. Hugs or kisses? Kisses! I’m European, so we like to kiss when we say hi haha. Best way to de-stress? A massage or a Netflix and chill night in

Best beauty advice you’ve ever received? Jade rolling! I have been doing this every day since I found out about this miracle tool. I keep it in the fridge, it depuffs my skin, smooths and helps to absorb products better. Go-to beauty product at the moment? Can’t live without my Jet Lag mask by Summer Fridays. What are you binge watching these days? The new season of Riverdale What was your favorite part of the Modeliste Mode Around The Globe Getaway to Costa Rica? Spending time with these inspiring women! And I loved the boat trip, the sunset was absolutely stunning! What did you love most about the Planet Hollywood Beach Resort Costa Rica? The impeccable personal service! MARRAKECH: THE RED CITY
The cultural capital of Morocco, Marrakech is known for its red sandstone Citadel, beautiful gardens, palaces, and mosques. The fortified part of the city, the Medina is a world heritage site with massive Souk (marketplace), and tiny streets with beautiful Riad homes decorated in Moorish design. The local bites and sites are all in the heart of Medina where you can conveniently get lost for as long as you like. Meandering the streets and tiny lane ways of the medina is no different to a game of Hide and Seek. The tantalising fragrances, eye-catching colours, and dynamic sounds of a bustling old town create an interesting atmosphere that causes a time-lapse of sorts. Visiting the Place D'Jeema el Fna, the palaces, prancing around the lush gardens, gallivanting through the Historical Kasbah, or bargain shopping at the Souk, are some of the customary activities that every visitor is recommended to try at least once. The idea of bargaining may seem confronting, however, even the locals welcome bargaining as a healthy way of engaging with their customers. Of course, we don't recommend haggling in shopping malls!

Its a great way to explore the Souk, and grab the food items to cook your first Moroccan meal. Unfortunately, there is no bargaining when buying Vegetables - food has a fixed price! But now, the world-renowned global carrier is adding an artful touch to its exceptional travel experience. Turkish Airlines and Istanbul Modern have partnered to curate a selection of artwork from the Istanbul Museum of Modern Art on display at the Turkish Airlines Business Class Lounge at the newly opened Istanbul. Spanning 1,400 square feet, the exhibition brings together significant examples representing four main dispositions of modern art of Turkey. Istanbul Modern, Turkey's first modern art museum, was founded in 2004 in a former warehouse on the shores of the Bosphorus, to share the country's artistic creativity and culture identity with both local and international audiences. Its rapid success was one of the reasons Newsweek dubbed Istanbul “one of the coolest cities” in the world back in 2005. The museum's popularity continued to surge, and today, displays of cutting-edge contemporary art from Turkish artists make Istanbul Modern a must-visit attraction for the creative class and selfie-snapping tourists alike. But for travelers in transit at Istanbul Airport, Turkish Airlines brings the modern art to them. Passengers can turn their connection time into a culture experience by viewing and enjoying artwork from artists including Seref Akdik, Hakki Anli, Fethi Arda, Ferruh Basaga, Hasan Vecih Bereketoglu, Aliye Berger, Nurullah Berk, Adnan Çoker, Nejad Melih Devrim, Abidin Dino, Nes’e Erdok, Bedri Rahmi Eyüboglu,

Moreover, the collaboration between Turkish Airlines and Istanbul will allow the collection selections to be refreshed three times a year. Of course, the modern works of Turkish art are a welcome addition to the recentlyopened Istanbul Airport. The world’s largest international hub is the brand-new home for Turkish Airlines and establishes Istanbul as the central location in the world for aviation and travel. Thanks to its strategic location at the crossroads of east and west, the airport has great potential for growth for Turkish Airlines and the global aviation industry and will welcome 200 million passengers per year upon final completion.

Turkish Airlines will operate five passenger lounges at Istanbul Airport for Business Class, Miles & Smiles Elite Plus & Elite, Star Alliance Gold and Corporate Club passengers. There are currently three lounges open – the Turkish Airlines Business Lounge, Miles & Smiles Lounge and Domestic Lounge. The Exclusive Lounge and Arrival Lounge are scheduled to open in summer 2019. With an approximate area of over 60,000 square feet, the Turkish Airlines Business Lounge seats 765 guests and features 13 private suites with showers along with meeting rooms, a library and prayer room. The Istanbul Modern collection is housed here. The Turkish Airlines Miles & Smiles Lounge is also over 60,000 square feet, seats 765 guests, and offers 11 private suites with showers. It provides a space where guests can rest on comfortable couches, savor delicious treats from Turkey along with international cuisine, or enjoy mobile masseur services. Meeting rooms, a library and a prayer room can also be used here. The Turkish Airlines Domestic Lounge is accessible through a special entrance gate located outside the terminal so passengers can complete check-in procedures and transfer directly to the aircraft via buses. Lounge amenities include seating areas, Turkish cuisine, a large children’s play area, media wall with multiple television screens and a prayer room. The bar was set high, but Turkish Airlines continues to earn high marks for service excellence at its flagship lounges in the new Istanbul Airport. The modern works of Turkish art can not only be found as part of the Istanbul Modern Collection at the Business Class Lounge, but also in the development, innovation and growth of Turkish Airlines following its move to its new home.

We sat down with Shay to find out more about her latest launch and this is what we found out. Congrats on your Beis Travel line launch! Describe the beginnings of your brand. It happened by default in a way, as a result of my love of traveling! I’ve been an avid traveler for years and always found myself buying new luggage, before what felt like every trip, because the pieces I had either were falling apart or I had found that they hadn’t kept me organized on the last trip. At a certain point I thought “I could just do this better myself,” so I started looking for the right partners and teams to help me along the way. There were a few bumps along the way but for the most part it came together seamlessly, and while it has been a SUPER busy nine months since the launch, we’ve worked like a well-oiled machine and have made some big waves in the travel industry... especially now with the release of the rollers! What does Beis mean? The idea for the brand’s name actually came in the form of one of my favorite old beige bags that I was always using while traveling. We liked the inspiration, but wanted a name that was a little more playful than just the word beige. We started brainstorming and realized that beis actually means beige in Portuguese, and also lends itself to a lot of play on words.
What was the inspiration behind this collection? What makes the craftsmanship of the bags so unique, stylish yet incredibly functional and innovative? I wanted to create a collection of travel accessories and luggage that was chic, functional and affordable so people could feel comfortable and stylish wherever they were headed.
The insides are chocked full of special pockets, zipper compartments and compression flaps to keep everything in place and organized. They’re also expandable so there is ALWAYS room for that extra souvenir purchase. Beyond the obvious, am I a dork if I say the packing cubes?!
Your travel style philosophy? I love toeing a fine line between comfort, style and function while abroad... of course while respecting any social and fashion norms of the place where I am visiting. It’s important to be respectful of other cultures when they open their doors to us. My bags are generally packed with flowing dresses, chic and comfortable separates and a few *special* pieces that I like to save for a special dinner or outing... those are the pieces I created The Garment Bag for! Do you have a favorite piece in the collection? Obviously the Roller is the real show stopper. I took one of the samples on a recent trip to Mexico to make sure it was totally perfect and ready to go for BEIS fans, and can’t wait for everyone to get their hands on them!
