Texas Montgomery Wine & Music Fest 2019! MCHD Board Lowers Tax Rate For 17th Consecutive Year
Weekly Gas Prices (September 16, 2019) Texas gas prices have fallen 0.4 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.27/g t o d a y, a c c o r d i n g t o GasBuddy's daily survey of 13,114 stations. Gas prices in Texas are 8.6 cents per gallon lower than a month ago, yet stand 33.7 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. According to GasBuddy price reports, the cheapest station in Texas is priced at $1.92/g today while the most expensive is $3.19/g, a difference of $1.27/g. The lowest price in the state today is $1.92/g while the highest is $3.19/g, a difference of $1.27/g. The cheapest price in the entire country today stands at $1.80/g while the most expensive is $4.99/g, a difference of $3.19/g. The national average price of gasoline has fallen 0.4 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $2.55/g today. The national average is down 6.5 cents per gallon from a month ago, yet stands 28.9 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. Neighboring areas and their current gas prices: Midland Odessa- $2.44/g, down 3.1 cents per gallon from last week's $2.47/g. San Antonio- $2.19/g, down 1 cent per gallon from last week's $2.20/g. Austin- $2.23/g, down 1.8 cents per gallon from last week's $2.25/g. “While gas prices have drifted lower for the ninth straight week, all eyes now turn to Saudi Arabia after an attack that knocked out over 5% of global oil production and how oil prices are likely to jump as a result," said Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy. "While there is some good news that motorists should not expect a sudden and major uptick in gas prices, there may be a minor impact beginning mid-week and continuing until Saudi Arabia's stateowned oil company, Aramco, is able to restore all production. However, even after oil production levels return to normal, there is an undeniable factor that will now forever impact oil prices- and that is that Saudi Arabia's reliability and stability is no longer guaranteed, and this missile strike is evidence that perhaps one of the world's most stable oil producers may no longer be seen as stable as they were prior to this event. Motorists should stay tuned to GasBuddy for any further developments, but for now, we are not expecting this attack to lead to major price hikes. While the situation may change with Saudi Arabia, motorists are now able to fill up with cheaper winter gasoline and demand continues to seasonally weaken, perhaps softening the blow and impact of the attacks on gas prices."

Tent Captain and member of the event planning team. We have a waiting list of wineries looking to participate and we keep a very high profile of wines that match our event and our customers. The entertainment line up this year is top rated. With Season 16 The Voice winner Sundance Head as the headlining act at the Main Stage, opened by up and coming artist Kody West, and The Voice's Sarah Grace and the Soul, the Main Stage will be a huge draw for the crowds. 2 other stages will have solid line-ups as well. When asked about the increase in attendance,
down drinking coffee and he asked Trey to come sit down next to him. He asked him what tournament were we fishing and asked how the pre-fishing was going. He told Trey his name was Mark Morgan, his son was Andy Morgan, a Tennessee FLW pro. Trey didn’t really believe him till he started talking about fishing and realized he really was Andy’s dad later. He told Trey he goes there every morning for his coffee. This is going to be a tough tournament for Trey and I because we did not get to pre-fish this summer before the cut off date. We have 3 days to cover the lake and try to locate the fish. This is a big lake so we have lots of work to do.

CONROE – The Montgomery County Hospital District Board of Directors voted to drop the tax rate for the 17th consecutive year. By adopting a rate of $0.0589 per $100 valuation for Fiscal Year 2020, tax revenue is budgeted to be $34,623,604.00, which is an increase of 5.1% compared to Fiscal Year 2019. The fees charged for use of MCHD EMS were reduced in Fiscal Year 2017 to 150% of Medicare, which represented a decrease of approximately 47% in charges. Currently and into Fiscal Year 2020, MCHD maintains the 2017 price structure of 150% of Medicare, which lowers the out-of-pocket cost of those using the service. Budgeted revenue over expenses is expected to be a deficit of $4,699,689. MCHD Chief Financial Officer Brett Allen said, “MCHD has built reserves in recent years to plan against unexpected events. In addition to those reserves, MCHD strives to maintain a minimum of three months of operating reserves; however, more is currently on hand. This is the second year in a row that MCHD has adopted a deficit budget. That means we’ll be using tax revenue collected in the past to pay for next year’s expenses.” MCHD Board Chairman Mark Cole thinks this is a step in the right direction. “The board has a longstanding objective of lowering the tax rate every year, though in some years we lower it more than others,” he said. “But we feel that by lowering the tax rate while passing a budget which controls spending and which judiciously reduces reserves, we have charted a strong and sustainable course for the future of the hospital district, the services it provides, and the taxpayers of Montgomery County.” Montgomery County Hospital District’s mission is to care for the indigent and provide EMS services while protecting the interest of taxpayers and ensuring long-term stability through fund development.
