he Transition House and one of its clients will honor Norman Regional’s Emergency Department and a nurse for their actions during a health crisis. The department and nurse Madelynn “Maddie” Williams was awarded a special Gift of Hope, which was handmade by the client. The Transition House client wanted to honor those working in the Emergency Department for what he said was outstanding care after he experienced a medical emergency. The client was playing basketball outside with two other Transition House clients when he suffered a seizure. The two other clients immediately called 911 and sought help for the man including calling Transition House staff after-hours. He was transported to Norman Regional Hospital where the team and nurse Williams expertly coordinated his care.

Williams recently completed the Nurse Residency Program at Norman Regional, which helps nurses successfully transition from nursing school graduate to nursing professional.
