LIFE ON LAND By 2030, ensure the conservation, restoration and sustainable use of terrestrial and inland freshwater ecosystems and their services,in particular forests, wetlands, mountains and dry lands, in line with obligations under international agreements.

SUSTAINABLE CITIES AND COMMUNITIES By 2030, ensure access for all to adequate, safe and affordable housing and basic services and upgrade slums.

CLEAN WATER AND SANITATION By 2030, achieve universal and equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water for all.

German Sustainable Building Council From the UNDP’s guidelines Germany derived their own more site specific sustainability standards *diagram from DGNB

Economic Quality Environmental Quality

Site Quality

Process Quality

Under these standards: • Quality is assessed comprehensively Sociocultural and Functional Quality

Technical Quality

over the entire life cycle of the building. The building is primarily dedicated to the use corresponding to the scheme use.

No more than 15% of the usable floor area is dedicated to any other use

The building is primarily dedicated to the use corresponding to the scheme use.

Minimum Overall DGNB Requirements Indoor Air Quality (SOC1.2)

Design for All (SOC2.1)

Fire Safety (TEC1.1)

For EAO Studio VI Project: All of the standards from the DGNB that fit into aspects that line up with the project have been condensed into 3 categories:

SITE | BUILDING | SITE AND BUILDING These Outlines can be used to fuel design decisions in the following weeks of the project.

* These guidelines are made primarily for office spaces

Statutory (Local) Requirements

SITE German Sustainable Building Council DGNB Core14 SITE

**Ordered By Value Pertaining to EAO Studio Project

SITE1.2 | Public Image and Social Conditions • The influence of the location on the commercial viability of the building • Considers the potential influence of the building on the location itself. general social acceptance and appreciation synergy and potential conflict maintenance and condition Am I good for the community?

SITE1.3 | Transport Access • Accessibility of the nearest stop on the public transport network ( bus, train, tram, etc.)

• Cycling infrastructure at the location • Quality of road connection • Connection to alternative/sustainable transport systems: Railways/freight depot, waterways, airport.

• Parking Plan • Alternative evaluation: transport plan, traffic plan.

?

SITE German Sustainable Building Council DGNB Core14 SITE **Ordered By Value Pertaining to EAO Studio Project SITE1.4 | Access to Amenities • Considers the access to local amenities in relation to the building use. • Types of surrounding amenities: eateries: bakeries, restaurants, cafes, etc. Local amenities: Drugstores, supermarkets, food shops. parks and open spaces Education: schools, universities, etc. Public administration: town halls Medical provisions Sporting Facilities Free time: Art and culture, libraries, dance schools, health centers. Service providers: banks, craft enterprises

SOC2.3 | Cycling Facilities Because Cycling allows for environmentally friendly conditions, it is a good idea to encourage the activity. Suggested bicycle parking size

BUILDING German Sustainable Building Council DGNB Core14 SOC

**Ordered By Value Pertaining to EAO Studio Project

SOC1.1,1.2,1.3,1.5 | Thermal Comfort, Indoor Air Quality, Acoustic Comfort, User Control • Assurance of Human comfort throughout the design Operative/operable systems and components,, using site specific advantages to control the interior environment Developed material interaction with; sound, lighting, heating Understand human interaction pertaining to sound, lighting and heating

TEC 1.6 | Deconstruction and Disassembly • Material usage supports an understanding of material life cycle, and building life cycle fewer material allowing for easy disposal and/or replacements • Separability of materials is considered: really consider tectonics Materials can be recycled.

BUILDING German Sustainable Building Council DGNB Core14 SOC

**Ordered By Value Pertaining to EAO Studio Project

SOC1.4 | Visual Comfort • It is necessary to ensure an adequate and uninterrupted supply of daylight and artificial light in ALL interior areas in constant use. • Indicators: Availability of daylight throughout the building (quantitative) Availability of daylight in working areas for regular use (quantitative) View to the outside (quantitative) Preventing glare in daylight (qualitative) Preventing glare in artificial light (quantitative) Color rendering (quantitative) Sunlight

SOC3.3 | Layout Quality • Layout accommodates buildings life cycle • Consider: daylight configuration views and linkages between in and outside View to the outside (quantitative) Storage areas Welcoming quality

• Indicators

Variety of Possibly Uses

• Range of uses; various forms of office or rental spaces • Scope of Uses; creating a higher quality of place. • Communication areas • Multi-functional Rooms

Quality of Usable Area • Spatial Arrangement • Indoor Circulation • Prerequisites for informal Use • Quality of stay • Daylight and Ventilation • Views and links (In and Out)

SITE AND BUILDING German Sustainable Building Council DGNB Core14

**Ordered By Value Pertaining to EAO Studio Project

SOC 1.6 | Quality of Outdoor Spaces External areas can contribute to improving the urban image and the micro-climate if designed accordingly.

ENV2.2 | Drinking Water and Waste Water To disturb the natural circuit of water as little as possible by lowering the demand for drinking water and the volume of waste water.

Installation Factors • be cognitive of the ratio of short

flush to regular flush toilets; 2:1 • be aware of things that will need to be cleaned in design: -windows,dishes, people, etc.

• implement rainwater usage in grey water areas. • Recall: Black | Grey | Potable

PRO 1.3 | Design Concept Plan out everything. Doing so allows for a focused plan and makes a significant contribution to improved building quality.

Consider plans for:

Energy

Energy

Daylighting

Waste

Water

Maintenance

Monitoring systems

SITE AND BUILDING German Sustainable Building Council DGNB Core14

**Ordered By Value Pertaining to EAO Studio Project

SOC 2.1 | Design for All Barrier free access. Allow easy access to all spaces, this is so that the handicapped and other public can move throughout the building with ease and without assistance.

SOC 2.2 | Public Access • Fundamental public accessibility = access to most of the program. Ground Floor area (GFA) should be greatly investigated as that is the primary public space. Indicators to assess public access: General public access to the building External facilities open to the public Interior facilities, like libraries or cafeterias allow public access. Third party rental access Variety of use for public areas

No Public Access

SOC 3.2 | Integrated Public Art • The DGNB pushes for land owners to display public art. Bonus points for local art installations. • Create areas for this are to be displayed.

Open to Public
