In this Mosaic… It wasn’t until Grade 5 when a ‘smart’ girl in my class (who was the daughter of another teacher there and consequently always treated very well), was unable to answer a question that was just SO simple to me, that I had this lightning-bolt epiphany that I was as smart as her and maybe as anyone else. It was a life changing ‘aha’ moment for me. I can remember that moment like it was yesterday. It was like this beam of light shone down on me and all of the sudden, I had all this clarity. In that moment, I felt myself literally change inside and out. When I looked around the room, I saw my second cousin Laurie (my Baba and her Baba were sisters) watching me and I just gave her the biggest smile of my life.
by Connie Brisson It all started in Grade 1. I don’t remember anyone thinking I was stupid before that… Because I didn’t understand that a cheque was money, I threw away my school fees payment in the garbage on my first day of school. After the whole misunderstanding came to light, my Dad wrote another cheque and said something to the effect that he hoped the teacher wouldn’t lose this one. Well, I was pretty much a parrot in those days. Next day I went to school, handed my teacher the new cheque and told her not to lose it. I didn’t do it to be a smart ass; I was just repeating what I’d heard. But she didn’t take that very well. She sent me to the corner and made me stand facing the wall all day long. Needless to say that experience pretty much ostracized me from the other kids. No one wanted to be my friend after all of that! Then she put me at the back of the class and said I was ‘slow’.
Later she told me that was a significant moment for her too. She explained that she was tired of always getting into trouble (along with a group of popular girls in that class) and she was looking around the room wondering who she ‘should’ be friends with. When I gave her that big smile, she felt it was a sign that I would be that friend. And that was the beginning of a deep friendship that has lasted all these years and that I still cherish today. That day in Grade 5 really changed me forever - not only because I realized that I was not stupid, but because I gained a lifelong friend immediately afterwards. It was as though once I realized I was worthy, then I was really worthy. My realization opened up a new world for me. Once I thought I was smart enough, everything changed. When we believe someone else’s version of us or that some part of us is not ‘good’, then it becomes our truth and the world mirrors that back to us. But when we ‘change’ our minds (our views of ourselves), the world ALSO mirrors that back to us. When I read Karen Evelyn’s wonderful article this issue (page 16), it reminded me of my ‘stupid’ story and how many of our stories really are stupid - they aren’t the truth, just misinterpretations of ourselves and our gifts. I love when I read an article in Mosaic that takes me on a journey back in time and somehow helps me to see that my story, and that story, and your story, really aren’t that different.
After all that negative attention, I was so vulnerable that I believed her. I just closed up and kept my mouth shut for the rest of the year. Even if she asked me a question, I was so scared of saying the ‘wrong’ thing, I wasn’t brave enough to answer her. Of course, this confirmed her theory that I was stupid.
Part of all of our journeys is to remember ourselves - to remember our truth and our uniqueness. I love that Mosaic (and the wonderful people who share themselves each issue in this magazine) can help you to remember…
So, of course, in Grade 2, I graduated to another segregated section (from the others who were ‘smarter’). Again, there were a few of us that sat at the back of the class and were told that we were ‘slow’.
Also remember, we’d love to see you at our next Mosaic Book Club Dinner on June 4, if you are able to come. Please go to page 31 in the Calendar of Events to learn more. I hope to see you then.
And in a small rural school, nothing changed for me in Grade 3 or 4 either. I had already been labelled and I actually didn’t know that it wasn’t true.

Bringing the unconscious to life When terrible things happen to us we start to treat ourselves as though we are terrible. In this way we come to think of ourselves in relationship to our experiences instead of who we truly are at our core essence. Attitudes such as not good enough, unlovable, broken, bad, victim, survivor, tough, stupid or ‘not safe’ become woven into our identities and our bodies, acting as barriers to our true selves. Our true self gets tucked away somewhere deep inside us because the terrible experience was overwhelming and surviving that experience became what was necessary. As time passes we forget about our emotional barriers and we lose awareness of our bodies and so the holding in our bodies becomes unconscious. Our bodies tell the truth of our lived experiences. Our intellect holds the story to the degree we are conscious and willing to accept it, but our bodies hold the actual experience. Marion Rosen, the founder of Rosen Method Bodywork and Movement, taught that the body reflects a person’s emotional attitudes and that as we change our attitudes we change our bodies. Marion discovered that, “through our bodies we can become aware of, and undo, a learning process that is detrimental to our health and wellbeing.” Marion developed a form of healing touch that helps people to connect to these forgotten emotional holding patterns in the body.
what is happening in the body, practitioners create the possibility for embodied self-awareness for the client. In this way Rosen Method touch bypasses intellectual knowing, connecting instead to a deeper knowing in the body, the core of the barrier or the suffering. People often connect to memories and experiences that have been forgotten or that they vaguely remember but had no feeling connected to it. Feelings surface and are released. The breath and the holding let go and a deeper connection to self occurs. People experience themselves more fully and leave a session feeling more present, able to show themselves for who they truly are instead of the protected, hidden or absent version. I have watched people transform as a result of this work. Sometimes the transformation can take place in one session; sometimes it occurs a bit at a time over the course of years. For myself I have experienced both big transformations in a session and the more gradual ones that built over several sessions and eventually led to a deeper awareness of an early childhood experience. The change in my life is not temporary; it has been a true transformation as I have gradually connected to and

Marion discovered that bringing people into a deep state of relaxation was the most direct way to allow feelings and memories from the unconscious to surface. By using a present, non-doing touch that follows the breath and meets the holding in the muscles, and by using words that reflect

allowed more of my true self to emerge out from behind my frozen state of survival. I live my life more fully, more connected and at peace with myself and those around me. I am not afraid to express myself and to do the things I’ve always dreamed of doing. I am also not afraid of the barriers I meet in others and myself. I recently became aware of a holding pattern that is often a default place. When my life gets busy and demanding, I live from a place of having to do it all and it is a very lonely place, one that I can’t reach out from. The awareness has been gradual, over a year or so as my life grew busier with my new position as the Vice President of the Rosen Method Institute Canada Inc. Over the course of several sessions I came to greater awareness of the feelings I experienced in a time of my life when I was very alone, overwhelmed, terrified and responsible for the survival of both my mother and myself. When I was seven years old, my mother and I were living on our own and she was in the late stages of advanced alcoholism. I spent every minute either on suicide watch to make sure my mother wouldn’t kill herself or I would do all the adult things that needed to be done like making something to eat, cleaning the house, getting myself up and off to the city bus that would take me to daycare. I did all of this because I had to do it to survive. This I knew already and I have done a lot of therapeutic work on this time in my life. Rosen Method helped me to access what had remained unconscious. What I had forgotten about this experience was the feeling of just how alone I was and that there was absolutely no room for my needs. I had no awareness of need; it was just not an option for me. This was so painful to feel. I had so much resistance to allowing these feelings to come forward. The whole process took over a year. Although I knew my sole focus at that time was on making sure my mother didn’t die, I had not yet felt the incredible effort of just how much I really had to “do it all and then some.”
touched at a place in my heart that is open and vulnerable. I feel the power of their truth. Sometimes my eyes fill with tears. I love that I can feel empathy without feeling like I have to fix anything. In fact I feel quite the opposite. There is nothing to fix. In each and every one of us is a true and whole self. This is what I hold the space for, the possibility of this awareness to arrive. I know that for my clients to trust and arrive in a more present state I have to be present in myself and in my touch, trusting in the process and be willing to meet them wherever they are. In this way a safe container is created and deeper awareness of truth becomes possible. Over time people often experience a greater spiritual connection within themselves, a connection to something greater. This is a felt experience from deep within. When the breath is free and the diaphragm is swinging without any effort, the body and spirit come together and deep healing occurs in this state of surrender, opening and trust. Through this work the body changes, postures shift, wellbeing returns, lives are transformed and spirit comes more into consciousness. I both love and believe in what I do because I have experienced the results firsthand. This work continues to invite me to live from a place of inner truth and the love of an open heart. As a fellow human among humans I can’t imagine doing or ‘being’ anything else. Cinnamon is a Certified Rosen Method Bodywork Practitioner and the Vice-President of the Rosen Method Institute Canada. During one session I felt so strongly the place of “can’t let go,” how strong I had to be. Allowing these feelings created the possibility of actually letting go and connecting deeper to my inner strength. Now I am strong enough in my connection to my true self that I can let go. This new awareness is transforming my life as I am now allowing myself to be more open than before with what I am experiencing and needing in the moment. I feel more genuine and authentic. I am saying no when I feel I have reached my limit and am taking the time to slow down before I make a decision to say yes to someone else. When life gets demanding I am not falling into my default place of having to do it all and then some. I am taking the time to listen to what I need and also taking the risk of being vulnerable and allowing what I need to come forward. Through this work people often find what Marion liked to call their ‘jewel’ - their truth or core being that enables them to live a life full of possibilities instead of judgment and fear. I have had the honor and privilege to witness this transformation in my clients and in students at the RMIC. As a practitioner during a session I am often www.MosaicMagazine.ca

Overcoming our failures I remember, with aching clarity, the time I REALLY failed. This was not a normal failure but a pretty spectacular crash, which led to all sorts of collateral damage in my life and for those I deeply cared about. Like most of us, I had failed before, but this particular failure was so significant and it so profoundly affected the lives of family, friends and others, that I considered suicide. The good news is that I was able to overcome my failure. I began to notice that all my failures, mistakes and frustrations were actually laying the foundation for the insight and understanding that has created the new level of living and professional success that I now enjoy. C.S. Lewis said this: “Failures are finger posts on the road to achievement.” Attaining success is about having the courage to try new things and at times, not hit the mark. But each time we miss it, we learn and recalibrate our aim, and we cultivate our lives towards success. I have failed far more than I have succeeded in my life. But, there is this irrepressible desire to “keep on keepin’ on” and to get back up again when I fail. I don’t want the fear of failure to hold me back. Everything I want is on the other side of fear. The only thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve is the fear of failure. So I press on, keep getting up and at times fail, that in the end, I might succeed. I love what Denis Waitley said: “Failure should be our teacher, not our undertaker. Failure is delay, not defeat. It is a temporary detour, not a dead end. Failure is something we can avoid only by saying nothing, doing nothing, and being nothing.”
yourself permission to relate to yourself and failure differently. People who are taught to be kind to themselves feel more motivated to see their mistakes as a chance for growth. The second way is to LEARN FROM FAILURE. To overcome failure, we need to learn from it. If we do not learn from our failure, all that pain and misery is wasted and we risk making the same mistakes over and over again. Celebrate the idea that at times, only by falling on our face, do we learn enough to succeed down the road. Build on your failure. Use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. Don’t try to forget the mistakes, but don’t dwell on them. Don’t let them have any more of your energy, time or space. Learn and simply move on.

And the third way is to BE FEARLESS. Everything you want is on the other side of fear - every dream, aspiration, or idea, every awakening of new possibilities and potential. Everything is on the other side of fear. The only thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve is the fear of failure. So let’s live. Let’s be resilient. Be mentally and emotionally tough; unafraid. Let’s be fearless. One final thought… Every adversity, every heartache and every failure carries with it the seeds of future success. Don’t be afraid so much of the failure, but fear getting stuck. I believe in second chances and I hope you do as well. Go out there and fail. Then love yourself, learn from the failure and love fearlessly!

There are three ways to overcome failure. The first is to LOVE YOURSELF! A growing body of research is finding that we can rewire our response to mistakes and failures so that they’re not just things we avoid. The key? Selfcompassion. When we practice a new way of approaching failure, it can change failure from something we fear into something we embrace. The biggest challenge is giving

“After 15 years of suffering with stomach issues (gas, bloating and pain), I’ve found some relief with a food elimination diet. There are times though that I think I’m eating all the right things (my non-triggers) and yet I still suffer. What other underlying issues could be present? (My food allergies so far that I found are: wheat, gluten, dairy, cashews, mangos, bananas, sesame, coconut.)” SJ, Edmonton by Tammie Quick Doctor of Homeopathy and Heilkunst What was going on when you were 22, in the weeks before these symptoms began? Perhaps you had a bad break-up or an episode of food poisoning? For that matter it could’ve been a period of really poor eating habits. While you’ve done a great job of changing your diet, recognize that this only treats the symptoms. From the list of triggers you’ve provided you may be suffering from Candidiasis. Most of the foods that you list are high in sugar or will quickly become sugar, which will feed candida. When they are thriving, they cause the symptoms that you describe. Coconut however, actually kills candida so eating it may cause the symptoms of ‘die off’, which are essentially the same, only you may feel ‘flu’ like symptoms too. by Donna Reilly Reiki Master/Teacher Definitely changing your diet can show some improvement with your stomach pains, but the underlining cause could very well be deeper than just food intake. As we all know, everything is energy, so just as food can affect your body so can your thoughts, emotions and reactions to any given situation, challenge or experience, whichever way you choose to look at it. Therefore, dealing with this with a more holistic approach will help you work on all levels of your being (mind, body and spirit). Reiki combined with hypnosis is one of many modalities that work on a deeper cellular level to help you connect to the energies you are holding in your body that have caused the blockage in the natural flow of your own energy.
by Dale Pierce Jin Shin Do® Teacher Changing your diet is a good way to stop the triggering of stomach issues, but the only way to get real relief is to deal with the underlying issues. There is a whole spectrum of energetic issues underlying allergies. Initially, I would want to do some work with the energy flows that help to strengthen the chakra centers and balance the defensive energy (reacting to food as if it were a pathogen) with the nourishing energies (ability to take food in and extract the nourishment). I would then want to look closely at the energy of the liver as well as that of the stomach, small intestine and large intestine, always from the perspective of the energy of these meridians. Additionally Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO’s) in our food are creating all kinds of toxins in our gastro organs, instead of ‘good-guy’ bacteria. The GMO technology targets pests out in the fields, but it is also targeting bacteria that are essential to human health in our guts! For example, gas or stomach problems can very well be connected to prolonged uncertainty, gripping fear, sensitivity, self-esteem and there is more. This of course is not meant to be a quick fix method, but to connect with it and recognize that when we take responsibility for the energy we place in our bodies and become more aware of how our emotions do affect our biological organs, then we are more able to transcend this energy to a higher vibration, so your body can naturally heal itself… and you will feel the difference. Energy blockages in other meridians are the reason that most allergy issues are so difficult to deal with in the standard Western approach, so releasing buried issues around frustration, anger, self-blame and even guilt can be instrumental in renewing the body’s ability to take in everything in your environment and receive nourishment from it all. As you release these issues, you can fine-tune your awareness of how your body responds to all of the stimuli in your life. Healing sexual trauma Everyone is outside in anticipation of the evening’s ceremony around the fire pit. I stall to await the setting of the sun… timing is everything and what I am about to ask them to do, needs to be done within the dark, where fire and Spirit are the sole visible witnesses. Before each participant lays a Shadow Doll, an effigy made from objects in nature to symbolize the unspoken feelings within the traumas/grief each person is here to heal. Though this program attracts people longing to heal a wide range of grief and trauma, this particular group are tied together through a common thread of sexual abuse/assault. Sexual abuse is a particularly difficult trauma to heal. In our culture it is rarely spoken of as it makes both the speaker and listener uncomfortable, creating an additional energy of shame around the whole experience. Silence breeds fear, further victimization and isolation. We have no control over why these past traumas happened to us... Our control lies in deciding what to do with them now. Gathering everyone’s attention, I speak: “You have spent three days becoming aware of how you are held hostage by your suffering… abandonment, loss, trauma and worthiness tied together in life changing events which are seeking release, ties which are shed through ending the cycle of silence. Find within your heart all unexpressed emotions, what you always wish you’d said, from anger to despair, expressing yourself honestly and authentically within the safely of this sacred space. Reclaim your power in this intentional act, giving to the fire and the circle the voice of your Shadow Doll.”
The fires glare illuminates her. Fingers wrapped around her Shadow Doll, she walks the circle rhythmically until words begin to flow. Speaking from her heart she gives voice to the little girl inside of her, the one who never had the right to speak out, the one whose voice had been silenced. When she is finished I guide her in a ceremony of release and purification at the fire. In Teresa’s words: “The fire ceremony was my final chance to say everything that needed to be said and I could feel the significance of that moment. I was supported by you, by all of the people around the fire and then there was nature - sitting around a fire felt magical, under the stars, with the wind blowing. I’ve never experienced what I would consider time travel before, even in journeys, but that night I know I did. I was there with myself as a child and it’s hard to put into words how significant that was. Maybe the fire ceremony allowed me to suspend reality and really be present. I held her, we connected, I was able (as an adult) to care for her, to give her the reprieve she needed, that I needed. Even thinking of it now I feel a pulse of energy and connection. I let her go free that night, to be the child she needed to be, to experience any of that freedom she missed out on.” Penny Whistle © Angela Rees — angierees.com

Her healing has led her to see each ingredient that added to her abuse and feelings of powerlessness, from parents that did not want to believe it was true to parishioners who supported the priest when many charges were finally laid against him.

Skye’s View
Transform your life with Feng Shui Feng Shui has so many different aspects that can really transform your life. While many are dependent on a complete analysis of one’s home/workplace, here are some simple (yet powerful) cures that are universally applicable and inspiring. Many of my clients have experienced very positive results with the following cures. Your signature is important as it represents who you are. In Feng Shui, when you sign your name in a specific way, you become a magnet for luck. An auspicious signature fulfills three rules: the whole signature is slanted upward, the starting stroke of the first letter of your signature must be an upward stroke and the final stroke of your signature also soars upward. In addition, when you underline your whole signature with an upward stroke, you attract supportive energy and people to you. It’s especially powerful to use your lucky signature after writing a positive affirmation. Then repeat writing this affirmation with your signature 27 times. Do this for a total of 27 days or even more powerfully, for 108 days. A client of mine who struggled with depression and exhaustion did this cure for 108 days using the affirmation “I am filled with positive energy and joy.” Not only did she notice a profound shift in her overall attitude and energy, her family and friends also commented on the transformation. In Feng Shui watches and clocks represent “time is running out.” It is considered very unlucky for children to give their elders (parents or grandparents) a watch or a clock. The gift of a clock indicates that your days are numbered (the opposite of a longevity symbol). If you ever receive the gift of a watch or clock, immediately give this person (the one who has gifted you) a coin in return; this symbolizes that you have ‘purchased’ the clock for yourself and neutralizes the negative energy.
If you want to attract financial abundance, declutter your kitchen cabinets. Regardless of location, the kitchen is the universal room in the home that represents abundance. If your cupboards are crammed full with dishes, there is no space for new abundance to enter. Begin by getting rid of chipped dishes (these are a strong symbol of poverty), dishes you don’t really like and dishes that are seldom used. Keep the dishes that you love; this represents attracting money easily and manifesting money through work that you love. Remember to think and talk about auspicious times in your life. This might include goals that you’ve achieved in the past and celebrating your current successes. As well, encourage your partner and children to express their successes. Too often we focus on what is going wrong in our lives and beat ourselves up about our failures - this attracts misfortune. When we focus on our accomplishments, we attract a brighter future. Happiness © Bernadette McCormack

The Feng Shui, Tarot and Mystical Studies classes I teach for our 2014/2015 Certificate and Diploma Programs are starting later this year. I’ll be offering free (and fun!) mini workshops in each of these areas to help you explore how these studies might transform your life. These mini workshops are designed to offer practical tips that you can immediately apply. Please email me at skyedreamhorse@shaw.ca if you’d like more information on times and location for these mini workshops. Skye has specialized in Feng Shui for the home and business for over 30 years. She teaches Feng Shui, Tarot and Dreamwork at the Northern Star College of Mystical Studies in Edmonton, www.northernstarcollege.com or 780-447-3667.
It’s also not a good idea to have a lot of clocks in your home. Generally too many clocks indicate that you never have enough time. Even worse, depending on the gua where the clock is placed, it can represent that your relationship/health/ money is running out of time.

#1 Obstacle to attract clients as a healer If you’re having trouble attracting lots of awesome clients as a healer, you’re not alone. It’s a very frustrating experience, to put so much time and energy into your business and see little results. I remember what this was like. I felt like I was doing something wrong but had no idea what it was. And my lack of clients coming in was a constant reminder that I hadn’t figured it out yet. Since those days of frustrating struggle I’ve been able to create a successful six-figure healing business. I’d love to share a major obstacle I found that was in the way for me that I also see in many healers. The #1 obstacle to attracting new clients as a healer is what I call ‘isolation’. For some it’s simply a way of being that needs to be turned around. For others it is a deep ‘energetic money block’ that must be identified clearly and healed. In either case ‘isolation’ shows the following symptoms for healers stuck in this major obstacle. 1. Perfectionism - Often those stuck in ‘isolation’ focus on getting better and better at what they do, rather than taking what they have and sharing it with the world. This can look like spending time ‘perfecting’ their work or learning modality after modality rather than spending time on marketing and finding clients to work with.
They tend to be ‘pleasers’ so that people will like them. The problem is the Universe needs you to be YOU, not to be a pleaser. Not everyone is going to like you and that’s okay. Not everyone likes cats. That’s no reason for cats to be more like dogs! Be who you are - your people need YOU just as you are. 3. Don’t Feel Safe Putting Themselves Out There - This is the biggest sign of all that a healer is in the obstacle of ‘isolation’. It shows up as a general sense of not feeling safe or comfortable at the thought of sharing what they do with lots of people. These healers often avoid marketing which unfortunately leaves their potential clients unable to find them. They often don’t understand why, so they just distract themselves with actions that keep them busy instead of connecting with potential clients. The truth is you CAN feel safe and comfortable sharing your work with the world. That's how it’s meant to feel. Geisha Girl Series - Gertrude © Heather Brewster — www.heatherbrewster.com
by Fia-Lynn Crandall Intuitive Business Consultant
In my private practice, I see a lot of healers with ‘isolation energetic money blocks’. I pick up on it right away when I see these three signs. People you’re meant to serve need you. The sooner you can get out of isolation the faster they can get the help they need from you. Don’t delay! It’s time to connect with those who need you. Fia-Lynn Crandall is an expert at pinpointing exactly what’s in the way of healers making the money they’re meant to make. Save $50 on an Intuitive Business Assessment using coupon code MOSAIC. You have what it takes to make a difference in the lives of your clients, right now, as you are. Likely just by having a conversation with you, they will feel better. The truth is that your clients aren’t looking for you to be perfect. They just want help. Waiting for your perfection is simply making them suffer longer. My advice: have the courage to be imperfect. Get out there and help them with what you can now! 2. Worry About People Liking Them - Healers in ‘isolation’ are often very focused on having people like them. They are highly concerned about what others think of them.

Spring cleaning for your energy body by Jackie Pearce Wholistic Practitioner Spring is in the air! We are all noticing and feeling the earth awakening from a long winter slumber. The sun’s rays are stronger and so are your desires to plant seeds of manifestation, and to shake off old energy and create meaningful change in your life. Chakra Balancing is such a wonderful modality to utilize in times of shift and transformation, since that’s what it is all about. With the imminent promise of spring, energetically we are receiving a fresh start as well as an abundance of energy to get things germinating for the season of growth that is summer. There are many techniques that I keep in my energetic toolbox. Some are used daily and others are used just on an as needed basis. Since we are all connected energetically, I often see and notice patterns and general themes with my clients. Right now one of the largest themes I am recognizing is the energetic body doing a marvellously gentle (but deep) shakedown of the energetic system.
Hopes and Dreams © Maria Pace-Wynters — mariapacewynters.com
One of the most prominent techniques being used right now is sweeping in the auric field. This is often performed either with my hands in a sweeping motion above or even
inside the auric field - or with crystal wands. Sweeping the aura is like using a magnet to collect small metal filings. It attracts all of the remnant energies that are no longer needed by your energetic field. Once these remnants have been collected they can be cleared, released or recreated into new and useful energy for you. In essence, a Chakra Balance is a good spring-cleaning for your energetic body. All of the self-work that has been done through the introverted aspects of winter are ready to be released. Final energetic debris is being shed from the aura, new ideas and energies are being cultivated and a general plan for the coming seasons is being formulated. We can create change at any time. There is no law that states “only in the spring can profound change be made,” however in the spring there is a natural cycle of immense growth and rebirth. Plants literally ‘spring up’ from the ground, growth is occurring at rapid rates and new life exists all around us. So it makes sense to work with this incredible energy and harness its essence for our own processes. This energy can be utilized by us to do the same thing but with a whole lot less effort on our part! Right now we can choose to spring forward and shake off old patterns, stagnant energy and create new directions in our lives with less effort. A big trend that I am seeing in sessions right now is that once we get things moving on an energetic level, the flood gates are removed - the energetic body seems to just click on to auto pilot and starts its deep spring clean with very little coaxing. You get way more transformation from the same amount of time and effort; it literally is a magical time. Why is this such a big deal? It’s big because timing is everything with energy work. Setting the stage and creating the right conditions to allow clients the space and opportunity to experience profound shifts and transformation can often take quite a bit of time and can even require a certain amount of focus and deep intention. With this natural cycle of spring, our bodies are already recognizing this pattern and are eagerly seeking it out and going with the flow. So once

a session begins and your energetic body recognizes the synergy between your energetic field’s awareness of spring energy and the true essence of spring, things naturally mesh together and begin to co-create. If my energy field is already aware of this seasonal shift why do I need a session? As a facilitator I support people and offer guidance to bring about change as well as graceful release. Many hands make light work. With the helping hands of spring combined with my talents and expertise you can go from a small shift to an amazing one - a shift that sets in motion your current seeds of manifestation and allows for the final lingering energies of winter to be released. It is important to note that although the energetic essence of spring is about growth and renewal, it still takes facilitation and proper intentions to fully utilize this energy. You as the client still need to be willing to cocreate with spring and bring the willingness to see change. It is still necessary to offer energy to the process and be a participant. Any time we are clearing the energetic field and seeking renewal it requires desire from the client to be a part of the process. Those who actively participate and contribute to their journey are the ones who transform with the most ease and grace. By wanting change and offering your energy to the process we create the manifestations quicker and see them take root deeper in the energetic body, which allows your process to flow smoothly and happen with gentleness. Here is a simple technique to check in with your energetic body to see if there is some energy that is ready to shift with spring. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. As you are inhaling see if you can feel a place within your body that is feeling restricted or heavy. Take a few more breaths and allow yourself to really connect with this energy within your body. Now think of a colour, the first colour that pops into your awareness or maybe a favourite colour. On your inhales breathe this colour into the area of concern. Use your exhales to literally breathe the energy out of your system. Repeat this cycle for as many breaths as you need to until you feel a shift. Now place your hands on the area and offer loving energy and feelings to this place. Chakra Balancing promotes energetic wellness. It energetically offers you what physical modalities (like massage) offer your body. You will feel relaxed, calm and very supported. Clients often feel much lighter, have a lot of clarity and feel more centered and earthed after a session. Often messages are received during sessions about transitions and directions that clients are considering in their physical world. Emotions lift, tensions melt and worries become insights. Chakra Balancing offers the renewal of spring and the promise of summer. Two keys to claim your gift by Karen Evelyn Coach to Corporate Leaders
my sensitivity. I’d been driving my Ferrari on the backroads, leaving it out in the rain and giving it the wrong fuel.
“You’re too sensitive!”
By the time I’d reach my early 20’s I believed that there was something wrong with me and that I was, in fact, too sensitive. I concluded that God had made a mistake on me when I came down the conveyor belt of new babies. I fled my high-emotions to the safety of my brain and excelled academically. I went on to do my Master’s Degree, studying International Trade Policy. I did my best to ‘toughen up’. I put myself in challenging scenarios (for example, leading sea-kayak, canoeing and dog-sledding adventures for a wilderness adventure organization called Outward Bound). It wasn’t until later in my 20’s that I met Herman Mueller, a spiritual teacher, who told me at first glance: “You are a Ferrari!” “A Ferrari?” I questioned. He explained that a Ferrari is a highly-sensitive vehicle. One tap on the gas and she accelerates; the slightest adjustment of the steering wheel and she turns. Ferraris are responsive, sensitive.
There are a few keys to claiming your gift that I learned from this experience. Key #1: Until you claim your gift, your gift is a problem. My gift of sensitivity was a problem for the first part of my life. It was a problem for me and a problem for those around me. It was a problem because I wasn’t masterful with it. I didn’t know how to handle it. And I hadn’t honed my ability to use it. It wasn’t until I understood that my sensitivity was my greatest gift that I committed to mastery with it. I trained for two years under world-renowned psychologists, Gay and Kathlyn Hendricks, who showed me how to handle my Ferrari with grace.
Flora © Oksana Zhelisko — www.zheliskoart.com
I marinated in these words growing up! My parents, teachers, aunts, uncles, cousins and later on, boyfriends and friends all said the same thing… “Karen, you’re TOO sensitive.”
From that point forward I have NEVER heard anyone say “You’re too sensitive.” I haven’t heard that in over a decade. Because I am masterful with my sensitivity, this is now what people pay me for! Key #2: Commit to mastery with your gift. Until you reach a level of mastery with your gift, it will continue to be a problem. Developing mastery is a part of claiming your gift. Committing to mastery shows that you love yourself and you are willing to take 100% responsibility for handling the make and model of vehicle you were given in this lifetime. What kind of vehicle are you driving? Are you a Ferrari? A Mini? A Hummer? A Volvo Wagon?
What is your gift? Don’t delay. Find out and claim it! Karen Evelyn shows Corporate Leaders who feel disheartened and bored in their role how to thrive at work by honoring the full expression of their unique Genius. As a result, their leadership shines. In his view, my entire body (from my fingertips, to my chin, to my face shape) was wired for sensitivity. I was born with a highly-sensitive vehicle! Hearing him call me a Ferrari was a game-changing moment for me. All of a sudden he had flipped my world on its head, framing my sensitivity as something very positive. After all, Ferraris aren’t all that normal or common in the world AND they are extremely expensive and valuable. When Herman told me: “Now you need to learn how to handle your Ferrari,” I realized that I’d been careless with

Soul Questions © Carol Breen
I’ve been estranged from my adult son for over seven years (I’m 52 now and he is in his 30’s). He told me that he couldn’t forgive me for the mistakes I made (when he was a teenager) after my first husband/his father died. He’s angry about the way my second husband treated both of us at times (verbally abusive). That relationship did not last and many years later, I’m finally at a good place in my life. I’ve tried many times to mend this, but now I’d just like advice on how to find peace within myself whether he ever accepts me back or not. PM, Edmonton
by Valerie Cameron Psychic/Medium First of all there is nothing to mend or fix in any situation. The choices we make are not mistakes. Everything we go through, whether we deem good or bad, are just experiences - no more, no less. Your son also chose this experience and whether or not he decides to take responsibility for his own feelings is up to him. The fact that he is still holding onto his anger says this is much deeper. It is not about you. So when we try to mend or fix something that is not ours it will not work. To truly find peace with all of this is to go within yourself and be very grateful for all that you have experienced. I myself have gone through a few experiences with my family and when I tried to fix something that was not mine, it led to a road of nowhere. What I found that worked was to embrace the emotion it set off in me and I had to ask myself a lot of questions about why I let myself be affected in this way. When I connected to the real gift I was being offered, everything shifted.

Loving yourself is the first step to finding peace from within and is often the hardest!
When we hear an adult child choosing to cut-off their relationship with a parent, our heart can only go out to them for having to endure such deep emotional pain.
You will need to focus on your healing journey and let go of the past in order to work to your highest good. The primary stone that I want you to connect with is Rhodocrosite. It is an amazing stone made for deep emotional healing. It encourages you to love yourself and helps to heal from within oneself. Combine this beautiful energy with a Banded Agate to encourage selfreflection and inner knowledge. This combination will help you to know yourself as an individual, without relying on an outside relationship for validation or support, while letting go of past mistakes and looking to the future with hope and love. You will take great comfort in Moonstone, a stone of new beginnings and divine feminine energy. Moonstone will help you to embrace your future and welcome in its positive energy. Rose Quartz will draw positive energy into your aura, helping you to send and receive love, as well as harmonize any relationships you have the honor of participating in.
Remember those that are the closest to us are our greatest teachers as a stranger cannot give you what your son has offered. When you find that GIFT you will truly be at peace.
Meditation will help you to celebrate your journey and learn from it. Celestite will bring you peace of mind with difficult decisions, as well as bring clarity to your thoughts and conversations. Embrace this portion of your life!

Your Numerology Chart indicates that the numbers ‘three’ and ‘nine’ show up as core lessons for you. Learning selflove and acceptance, as well as eradicating guilt and selfjudgment, best summarize the meanings of these two challenges your soul agreed to work on in this lifetime. The fact that you are still being blamed for things that happened many years ago, only adds confirmation to this. However, things are not always as they seem. Your son, out of his love for you, most likely agreed to play this role, before he was even born, in order for you to work through these challenges. Unfortunately, all of our soul contracts (agreements made between two people before incarnating) seem so much easier from the other side! Continuing to let go of the guilt for mistakes you are being accused of, whether real or imagined, is a necessary first step and continuing to make self-love your absolute focus, in spite of your son’s decision, will allow you to find the inner peace you are looking for. Biofeedback helps parents to parent Gogo - Mad Mavis © Crystal Driedger
by Norma J. Hope Certified Biofeedback Specialist Parenting is the most challenging job on the planet. It’s 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Your breathing space is non-existent. You second guess yourself. There is no manual! It can be so stressful and so much of it is trial and error. My clients, that are parents, all say how surprised they were by how often their own emotional issues got triggered by their own children - especially, the “not being seen and heard” trigger. When a parent’s issues get triggered, the ‘stress reactivity’ for everyone is increased. I remember asking a psychotherapist years ago why my Mom was so good at pushing my buttons. Her reply: “It’s because she’s the one that programmed them.” I know my parents loved me the best they knew how. They didn’t have the option of Biofeedback available to them to change their programming or to be made aware of all the emotions churning around inside my ‘little self’. ‘Re-parenting’ the child in me reconnected me to my core. Children get confused about how they feel or can’t quite express themselves. Biofeedback’s complex computer software identifies the exact feelings churning around inside, the patterns of stress and then uses frequencies to balance by retraining old patterns. There are 15 primary mother parenting messages needed from birth to eight-years-old that most of us didn’t get as children, which sets up our emotional triggers later in our life. They are from the book, The Intimate Couple by Jack Rosenberg and Beverly Kitaen-Morse (Integrative Body Psychotherapy, Turner Publishing, 1996) which I trained in and used to re-parent myself. They are also used during Biofeedback Stress Reduction Therapy for children, parents and other adults. My top seven are: “"I love you. I’ll take care of you. You don’t have to be afraid anymore. You don’t have to be alone anymore. You can trust me. My love will make you well. I welcome and cherish your love.” Also helpful is an agency mantra: “I am not bad. I haven’t done anything wrong. I am worthy of love.”
Lisa, a five-year-old client’s first session, identified and retrained her ‘perfectionism’ as the highest reactant which had started causing some belly pain - it was resolved. Lisa’s mother commented that it was likely her perfectionism causing the same trait in Lisa. She immediately changed, allowing Lisa to do things her own way more often. Biofeedback’s 11,000 different frequencies transmit through bands on your ankles, wrists and a headband to identify and re-train stress emotionally, physically, spiritually and mentally. It interrupts the stress ‘reactivity’ pattern in children and adults. It allows choice, breathing space, affection and renewal to happen as we ‘let go’ of old ways of being. And it helps parents eliminate the guesswork by naming what the child is feeling non-verbally. Robert, a 13-year-old client, had constipation issues which I know (as a Certified Colon Hydrotherapist) is emotional stress. After the second session, Robert’s stress and fear were reduced enough that he was eliminating fully and he confided in his mother that he was being bullied in school. After several sessions, the fear and bullies have stopped and he has a new emotional bond with his father too. Norma Hope is a Certified Biofeedback Specialist, Certified Colon Hydrotherapist, Lymph Therapist, Eternale Practitioner, NeuroAcoustic Sound Therapist, Microcurrent Therapist, Thought Field Therapist and more… Call 780-477-1100 or go to www.lifesynergyinc.com Note: This information is for educational purposes only. It is intended to supplement your current health program, not to replace the care of a licensed medical doctor.
When we don’t receive these messages as a young child we go into agency (looking after our parent’s feelings instead of our own). This all sets up a pattern of at least 65 possible emotional ‘reactivities’ (identified in a Biofeedback Therapy session) and the most frequent I see are fear, betrayal, anger, inadequacy, abandonment, hopeless despair, self-doubt, confusion, perfectionism, guilt, sadness, shame, psychic pain, identify conflict and more.

Esoteric Explorations
Creating good vibrations by Catherine Potter Astrologer and Hypnotherapist A group of nuns and monks chant; a brass bell is rung 21 times; children tell each other knock-knock jokes and the resultant laughter ripples out; a flock of birds swoop from one tree to the next, their songs echoing through the sky; angry protestors shout out words of hate and rage - the air is filled with it. The space around us, although appearing empty, is actually filled with vibrations, which start as waves of energy that come from thoughts, words and sounds. To fully grasp the throat chakra we need to understand it from the perspective of created vibrations. If we close our eyes and look beyond the illusion of a physical world, although things appear to be solid, they are simply lines/waves of energy.
chakra without being heart centered. Therefore how a person uses the energy of this chakra will depend on their state of awareness. When a person has healthy expression (at the throat center) they can easily speak their truth and respect another person’s truth even when it differs from their own. Discernment is also an important part of this chakra. In other words, learning to listen to what lies beneath words to the underlying message. For example, if I am speaking words of unity and wholeness but am encouraging exclusivity, a discerning person will see the incongruence. The vibration I send out will have a disharmonious quality to it. Teachers and leaders of any kind often have a strong focus in the throat chakra as do singers and writers. They are all messengers in one form or another. The discerning mind (not to be confused with the limited, judgmental mind) will look at the quality of the information passed on. Most of us probably have experience of teachers and leaders who wish to empower us as well as those who want to limit and control. The first type of person encourages curiosity, the questioning of any type of dogma and the development of an individual’s intelligence. The second type of person will be rigid and often self righteous.
It is why in some situations the words “I love you” can feel like an attack while the words “you are such an ass” can feel like a loving caress. In these cases we are responding (resonating) to the positive or negative force behind the words. The throat chakra is associated with communication, the right to speak, to be heard and right speech. It’s possible to have a strong focus in the throat

Can you image if we could strip our thoughts, words and emotions down to waves of lines and energy and the vibrations they create? Our understanding of the world and how it works would change dramatically.
When there is an imbalance in this chakra a person may feel inhibited in their communication. They may find it difficult to speak their truth. They may lack discernment regarding information input or output. For example the person who unquestioningly accepts the dictates of authority figures. Another example of lack of discernment might be someone who gossips, not realizing the impact this may have on another person. www.MosaicMagazine.ca

On the other end of a throat chakra imbalance is the person who has no difficulty in speaking but they may not hear anyone else. They may be self-righteous or demand blind obedience. An example of this would be a rigid parent, a religious or political leader or a teacher who discourages the questioning of laws, teachings or opinions. HOMEWORK: Here is an interesting exercise to try that will give you a better grasp of the vibrations created from your words, thoughts and sounds. Close your eyes and imagine the words you speak becoming lines/waves of energy that first go out into the air around you and then continue rippling into the atmosphere much like a pebble thrown into a pond. What would these lines of energy look like? Would they be flowing lines or sharp jagged lines? What do you think these lines of energy create in your world? What do they create in your body? Next do the same thing with some of your thoughts and emotions as they also create vibrations. How are your thoughts impacting your body and the world? Do they create harmony or discord? Now let’s look at what you are breathing back into you? Close your eyes and imagine what the lines of energy are like that come to you through the sound of traffic, angry emotions, gossip, beautiful music, bells, TV programs, books you read or people you listen to. These are some of the vibrations you are ingesting everyday. Is there a nourishing quality to them? What do you think happens to your body-mind when these waves of energy meet your vibration? In a curious, light hearted manner, continue to play with the idea of stripping away the solidness of the seemingly physical world. See, hear and feel everything as waves of lines and energy and the vibrations created. Enjoy! An Astrologer since 1986, Catherine is also a Hypnotherapist and Meditation Instructor. Boundaries and personal power by Kamia Shepherd Boundaries are healthy intentions to create and keep a sacred space around the ‘self’ and your energy field. Like a plant in the warmth of the sun, the more we invest and strengthen our boundaries, the stronger and healthier they become. Having a boundary that allows you to acknowledge what is healthy and supportive of your life purpose, daily interactions and evolving relationships is challenging, yet attainable. To create and explore your own unique sacred space, I offer you the following visualization. Retreat to a place that feels safe. This could be outside or inside, but is best practiced alone, or at least alone within a 12 foot radius. Interlace your fingers and place them over your solar plexus and begin to relax into deeper breathing. When your lungs and body feel as though they are saturated in oxygen, choose a vibrant color that resonates with you. This color should be bright and make you feel safe, healthy and vital when you see or wear it.
your body like a shield of armor or it may be challenged as you interact with those who are used to trespassing on your boundaries. If you tune into your inner knowing throughout the day, even for a few moments, do a visual scan of what is happening with your circle of light after such interactions and if necessary, draw the circle with your giant mental paintbrush once more. Ideally this ‘boundary drawing’ will become routine. The colors may change with the seasons, your spiritual journey or your mood and life experiences. When the colors are vibrant, they are feeding you and protecting you simultaneously. Some of the angelic hues are: • Archangel Michael works primarily with vibrant blue and purple for safety and protection. • Archangel Jophiel has hues of pink that lead to seeing the beauty within the self and the world. • Archangel Raphael has predominantly green hues, bringing healing on all levels to those that work with him. We all possess the ability to be energetically sensitive and aware. We all deserve to be nourished internally before sharing our gifts with the world around us. Healthy boundaries lead to healthy relationships in all aspects of one’s life. May you have excellent health!
Imagine that you have picked up a giant paintbrush and draw a circle around yourself. This circle touches the ground, leaving space between you and the surrounding world. The line the paintbrush leaves is thick and strong. If you need to draw the circle more than once to feel that it is solid, do so.
Aurora Borealis © Angie Rees — angierees.com
Once drawn, take a moment to set an intention or prayer. It could be something like this: “I ask that my higher self, my guides, my guardian angels and the ascended masters, God(dess) and earth helpers assist to clear my energy field from any negativity and fear that I no longer wish to carry. In this circle of light, I reconnect with my Being, life purpose, and immense Divine Love.” By enclosing yourself in a circle of light, you have not stopped loving or being connected with those in your life you love. You have instead created a stronger inner ability to experience love and center yourself. Perhaps as your day progresses you will feel this circle shrink. It might begin to fit

Places I Love
The magic of Venice by Connie Brisson When I first asked Marcel what he wanted to do for his 60th birthday (last year), he said he wanted to go on a Greek island cruise. When I found one that began and ended in Venice, I was thrilled. We were supposed to arrive in Venice (after a few brief days in Paris) in the early afternoon, but after a lengthy delay in Zurich, we arrived in Venice around 9:00 pm; it was pitch dark. I read somewhere in a travel book (and maybe it’s a good tip as we travel through life too) that when unexpected things happen, to just embrace them because it often ends up being one of the highlights of your trip and this was certainly true in Venice. Our initial plan was to do the conservative cost thing and take a bus into Venice (and then drag our luggage with us over a couple of bridges and boats until we got to our hotel), but after arriving so late, we decided a water boat taxi was the best way to get to our hotel safely (before midnight). It cost $120€ to get us to the water’s edge of our hotel but it was worth every Euro. We still talk about how amazing that boat ride was into Venice. It was magical. How do you know when life is going to gift you with a magical moment? You don’t - it just happens and when it does, you just need to sit back, be present and appreciate it… Our hotel was a 30 minute boat ride from the airport and at first all we saw were the distant lights of Venice. But, then as we got closer, as the lights twinkled on the old 14th century buildings surrounding us, as we heard the music and the laughter of the people above us as we glided under countless bridges, it really did feel like we were in another world. When we arrived at our hotel, Hilton Molino Stucky (www.MolinoStuckyHilton.com), it totally exceeded expectations; I’d recommend it to anyone. It’s a historical, restored flour mill (built in 1895) on Guidecca Island (just a five minute boat ride away from St. Mark’s Square). Its beautiful roof top pool and lounge had incredible views of Venice.
www.MosaicMagazine.ca
One thing I’ll always remember about Venice is their restaurants - the high cost and often disappointing quality. On our first day for lunch we were stopped by this guy who told us how wonderful their pizza was - first mistake. I learned that if someone stands outside to ask you into their restaurant in Venice, DON’T GO. It was the worst pizza we’ve ever had. Then when the $100€ bill came (for two pizzas, two salads and three water!), it included a $15€ ‘sitting fee’. When I said there was a mistake (that we had eaten, not just had a drink), the manager informed me that ‘everywhere’ in Venice had a sitting fee if you sat in the restaurant, even (and especially) if you ate! Really? Later we found a wonderful outdoor café with a full view of the canals and gondolas, where we only had a glass of wine and were not charged a sitting fee. However, many restaurants did, so be aware of that. A very unique part of Venice were the gondola rides. Every gondolier has his own designated spot (place he begins and ends the ride). Our gondolier said it costs about $37,000€ to buy a new gondola and it’s a lifelong career for most. On our tour of the Grand Canal he showed us a building that had been featured in the movie, The Tourist (the closest I’ll ever get to Johnny Depp J). Although the boat ride was romantic, I’d be lying if I didn’t say the smell of sewage did tickle my nose a few times along the romantic way. Still, it’s a once in a life time experience. The last thing that struck me about Venice are the amazingly crazy streets. I’d read that if you found something in a shop you wanted to buy, buy it, because you’ll never find that shop again. After seeing what Venice’s streets are like, I totally understand and agree. It’s like a maze because the streets are so small and unusual, but as long as you follow the marked signs written high on the street walls (sometimes just scribbled in black marker), you’ll always find your way back to St. Mark’s Square to regain your bearings. Somewhere in one of those mazes, we also came upon an opera singer performing songs from The Merchant of Venice (Marcel recognized the music). I didn’t know what he was singing but he brought tears to my eyes; it was so beautiful. That was another very magical Venice moment. It’s those little surprises that you remember long after you’ve come back home and that make you want to return again. Summer 2014 — Mosaic Magazine

Artist’s Gallery
Painting a world where anything goes by Angie Rees I love it when people describe my work as whimsical. To me that is the highest compliment. I am a very light hearted and optimistic person and I naturally gravitate towards things that give me joy. As an artist I think you need to find your ‘truth’ so painting subjects that make me laugh, in bright vibrant colours and patterns, is exactly where my heart is at most of the time. I feed my imagination a very rich and steady diet of children’s storybooks and theatre and I try to indulge its every whim. This, in turn, really fuels my ability to daydream. It’s unbelievable how much time every day I spend in this weird and wonderful place.
The birth of my son Jack (my greatest creative achievement) marked the onset of my ‘whimsical style’. Watching him grow up helped me tap into my imagination. I saw how quickly he could suspend his disbelief and go for a wild trip through his imagination. He never worried about reality; he just enjoyed being in the moment. Going back a little further, my father (an English professor) was a huge influence on me. He always enjoyed clever wordplay and puns - he instilled my love of playful language. I’m sure this is why coming up with the titles for my paintings is one of my favourite parts of art making. When the right title comes to mind it’s very satisfying. It allows me to say more than I can with just my brush. It’s the cherry on top of the sundae. My rules for making art are simple: “What if?” and “Why not?” It’s very liberating to paint in a world where anything goes and imagination abounds.

(Italian) With heart and soul
Moving beyond my edges by Connie Brisson
of what it had experienced so many years earlier, is nothing short of a miracle.
I’ve been on many edges in my life.
I was really young. I think I was three. I can remember walking into the kitchen and my Mom was cooking something but she was not really there; she was often emotionally absent, even vacant. I was trying to tell her something really scary that was happening to me, inside, and I don’t even think she turned around to acknowledge me. I can remember being glued to that spot on that kitchen floor like I was on the edge of a cliff. And when I realized she wasn’t going to turn around or help me, I think I froze myself inside to that place so that I couldn’t fall over the edge. It became my internal cliff. I’ve been there many times since… to that spot where I didn’t know how to get past a stifling fear and, maybe because of that experience, I didn’t know that anyone else was capable of helping me past it. My fears became my prison, my edges. For many years, certainly to my late 30’s, life’s experiences and my fears continued to layer up on me. And when I accidently was triggered into one of those ‘edge’ moments (because God knows I did everything I could consciously do to avoid them), I’d become desperate. How did the edge find me? How could I hide better from it? How could I be smarter? Then something miraculous happened in 2000. I attended a workshop where there was a demonstration about CranioSacral Therapy. When Lynn worked on two different people in her demonstration, both had obvious physical and emotional releases and I just knew that this type of energetic healing work was an offering from the gods - a way to move past my edges. Looking back, I don’t know if my Mom could have saved me from my fears that day in the kitchen when I was three (and I’ll never know). But to think, that almost 40 years later, I could address that through energetic bodywork so my body (and then my psyche) could let go

Mosaic Magazine — Summer 2014
With energy work, when I’m at the edge, when I experience those moments where I think I could go mad and feel so desperate and alone, I am instead set free. Ironically, the edge has become a place to appreciate and get help through. I now know that if I can stay with that edge and get help, then a deep healing can occur that will transform me in some way. Yes, it’s still scary and I have to be courageous. But I don’t need to do it alone. And over the last 10 years I’ve found many different therapies and healing methods that have helped me do this.
Bosom Buds © Kathy Meaney — kmeaney.ca/
I was trying to remember my first edge; the first time I can remember being in so much fear and wondering if I could do this all alone.
I’ve been at the edge often enough that it really should get easier each time, but it doesn’t. It just happened again last week. There I was, going along my life when bam! Something I thought was going to be a normal little routine thing took me on a journey back in time where I experienced so much doubt and despair. And I panicked. I was standing at the edge again, alone.
But this time, I quickly remembered that I’m not alone. Just hours after I had a Heilkunst appointment with Tammie Quick, I could feel the difference deep inside of myself. Energy medicine, energy bodywork and many other things have helped me so much on my journey - to move beyond my edge, into a bliss of possibilities and into the wholeness of who I am, which I would have not known otherwise. When I think about how much I’ve benefited from all the different mind/body/spirit healing experiences I’ve had, I can’t help but want others to know that there is another choice when they get to their edges. One choice is to stop, to see the edge like an electrical fence that keeps us in prison and the other is to know that you can move past this emotional/physical boundary into true freedom, if you can be courageous enough to just do it, with the right help. We aren’t different - any of us. If you can be courageous and move beyond your edges, then we can all benefit from the bright light that is inside of you. Be brave… We’re all on the edge with you.
