1951 MG TD Roadster Estimate: $20,000 - $35,000

WITHOUT RESERVE

Chassis Number: XPAGTDLHX5790

1.3 L/54 HP 4-Cylinder - 4-Speed Manual - Highly Original Condition The Model: The 1950 TD Midget announced in January 1950 combined the TC’s drivetrain, a modified hypoid-geared rear axle, the MG Y-type chassis, a familiar T-type style body and independent suspension on front axle using coil springs from the MG Y-type saloon. There was still no fuel gauge, but the 12 British gallons (15 US gallons) of tank capacity gave a range between refuelling stops of about 300 miles and a green light on the facia flashed a “warning” when the fuel level was down to about 3 US gallons.

The W116 automobiles were the first Mercedes-Benz models to be officially called S-Class, although earlier sedan models had already unofficially been designated with the letter ‘S’ – for Sonderklasse or “special class.” Consumers and automakers alike look to the S-Class to get a glimpse of the technology that will trickle down into ordinary cars in the coming decades. Airbags ABS Brakes advanced traction and stability systems brake by wire lane detection and driver fatigue warnings are just some of the technological features that first appeared on versions S-Class.

WITHOUT RESERVE

Chassis Number: 1G6DW51Y3KR716443

8 Cylinder - Automatic - 67,645 Original Miles

The Model: The single name “Brougham” began to be used as specific Cadillac model in 1987, when the term “Fleetwood” was dropped from the former Fleetwood Brougham. It was otherwise the same as the 1986 model. The reason for the change was that Cadillac had introduced a new, smaller, front-wheel drive model in 1985 and named it simply the Fleetwood. Compounding the confusion, the optional “d’Elegance” package (introduced in the upscale Fleetwood trim line in the 1970s, offering even more luxurious appointments, including button-tufted seating and rear-seat reading lamps), was available on and appended to the names of both models, resulting in a traditional body-on-frame/rear-wheel drive “Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham d’ Elegance” and a unibody/transverse engined “Cadillac Fleetwood d’ Elegance” fully two feet shorter and 800 pounds lighter. The Brougham received a new vertical-slat grille for 1989, which was similar to the 1980 grille. The 1980 grille had five horizontal sections, the 1989-1992 had three horizontal sections.

L 04 ot The Model: The Honda Beat is a rear wheel drive, mid-engined two-seat roadster kei car produced from May 1991 to February 1996. The Beat was the last car to be approved by Soichiro Honda before he died in 1991. The design of the car originated from Pininfarina, who then sold the design plan to Honda. The Beat was one of many cars designed to take advantage of Japan’s tax-efficient kei car class. There were two mainstream models of the Beat (the PP1–100 and the PP1–110) and a couple of limited edition versions. The car was sold exclusively in Japan at Honda Primo dealership sales channels. In typical Honda fashion, the Beat’s engine did not utilize a turbocharger or supercharger. The 656 cc engine was modified with the MTREC (Multi Throttle Responsive Engine Control) system, with individual throttle bodies for each of the three cylinders, to produce 63 bhp at 8100 rpm with an electronically limited top speed of 84 mph. Only a manual transmission was available.

The Model: The third-generation Mustang was produced by Ford from 1978 until 1993. Built on Ford’s Fox platform and thus commonly referred to as the “Fox” or “Foxbody” Mustang, it evolved through a number of sub-models, trim levels, and drivetrain combinations during its production life. It underwent updates for 1987, and for a time seemed destined for replacement with a front-wheel drive Mazda platform. However, company executives were swayed by consumer opinion and the rear-wheel drive Mustang stayed, while the front wheel drive version was renamed the Ford Probe. Enthusiasts group the generation into two segments: the 1979-1986 cars, with their quad headlight arrangement, and the 1987-1993 cars, with their aerodynamic composite headlamps and front fascia styling. Production ended with the introduction of the fourth-generation Mustang (SN-95) for the 1994 model year.

Icon Sedan Convertible Suicide Rear Doors Functional Hydraulics Restored Driver

The Model: Styled by Ford design vice president Elwood Engel, the fourth-generation Lincoln Continental underwent a second mid-cycle redesign, Still staying with Elwood’s original theme of “less-is-more” it wore an all new body, growing 5 inches longer, and nearly an inch taller and wider. Curved side glass made its return and the 430 V8 was enlarged to 462 cubic inches. The convertible underwent several equipment revisions for the first time, adding a glass rear window and the top mechanism added a second hydraulic pump for opening the convertible roof and the trunk lid making the two systems separate. The interior underwent several revisions, adding a tilt steering wheel and an 8-track tape player as options. They also introduced their first two-door sedan since 1960 however the convertible remained offered solely as a four-door. The Car: With one repaint, this rust free car has also been upgraded with a new pertronix ignition, new tires, upgranded voltage regulator, master cylinder, a/c pump, a/c expansion valve, washer bag, fuel pump, fuel filter, deck lock motor, deck lid hydraulic pump, new convertible top, clock, deck lid rubber, leaf springs, mufflers and exhaust tips this classic has very little left to be refreshed. The transmission shifts smooth and drives down the freeway like you’re gliding on air. With luxuries like air conditioning, cruise control, power locks, power windows, and power seat shes ready to hit the open road.

Chassis Number: ZFFYT53A440135727 Engine: 3.6 L Tipo F131 V-8 Cylinder Multiport Fuel Injection / 400 bhp 6-speed “F1” Electrohydraulic Manual Front and Rear Vented Disc Brakes Odometer: 14,650 Miles

The Model: Luxury, performance and the Cavallino Rampante (“prancing horse”) are staples of the iconic Ferrari sports cars. The Ferrari 360 Spider has the honor of being Ferrari’s 20th road-going convertible. The mid-mounted V8 engine, which can accelerate its crew up to 180 mph, can be admired by all through the glass integrated into the rear deck lid. Additionally, designers included side reinforcements, a cross brace in front of the engine, a strengthened windscreen frame, and roll bars. Aside from strengthening the body, designers were faced with the challenge of implementing a convertible top into a mid-engine sports car. The solution? An electrically operated top was designed that transforms from a closed top to an open-air convertible with a two-stage folding-action.

Odometer: 7,750 Original Miles

The Model: Born out of the Mercedes Vision SLR concept of 1999, the SLR McLaren emerged as a joint venture between Mercedes-Benz and McLaren as an outgrowth of their F1 partnership. The result was a technological tour de force that brought many F1 developments to the street. The carbon-ceramic braking system boasted eight-piston calipers for the front and received assistance at high speeds from a deployable aerobrake. The SLR makes extensive use of lightweight materials yet delivers all the luxuries expected of a modern Mercedes. After releasing a mere 2,000 examples of this incredible car, Mercedes-Benz and McLaren parted ways. Most great cars spawn only one successor. The SLR gave rise to two great cars, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and the McLaren MP412C. 22 W W W. M O T O S T A L G I A . C O M

Amenities include dual-zone air conditioning, 7-speaker Bose premium sound system and upgraded Bluetooth stereo, power adjustable seats and steering wheel-mounted audio controls. Other features include power steering, power windows, power adjusting tilt wheel, rain sensor and smart key. The name references the title character in the play The Marriage of Figaro by Pierre Beaumarchais. Based on the Nissan Micra, the Figaro was built at Aichi Machine Industry, a special projects group which Nissan would later call “Pike Factory”. As a fixed-profile convertible, the upper side elements of the Figaro’s bodywork remain fixed, while its fabric soft top retracts to provide a less fully open experience than a typical convertible. The Figaro was marketed in four colours representing the four seasons: Lapis Grey (Winter), Emerald Green (Spring), Pale Aqua (Summer) and Topaz Mist (Autumn). The Figaro was equipped with leather seats, air conditioning, CD player and a fixed-profile slide-back open roof. Prospective purchasers entered a lottery to purchase a Figaro.

The Model: Released in 1984, the Testarossa was a somewhat divisive design. The Pininfarina design left behind the long swooping lines and instead gave the Testarossa short, sharp lines, and strakes that defined the profile and gave it its now iconic look. The radically modern design housed the 4.9 liter Columbo flat-12, given the red cylinder heads that gave the new Ferrari its name. The Testarossa quickly gained popularity and as Ferrari’s flagship, it would also be their top seller, the supercar out sold even it’s other less expensive models. The Car: In stunning Ferrari Rosso Corsa, this iconic Testarossa has spent its life being well maintained. The interior is full of supple black Italian leather that presents itself nicely. The redhead’s Flat-12 fires on command and is ready to put the nearly 400 HP to work. As one of the most practical supercars ever built, driving this car has been described as easy, what isn’t easy is returning to your daily driver.

The Car: Rarely does a car that is untouched or as original as this example is, ever found. Even rarer is seeing it come to the auction market. When a restorer wants to bring their Bel Air back to factory perfection, this will be the “pattern-car” used, for it will set the standard for authenticity. Preservation of a vehicle for 61 years is a testament to detailed dedication and pampered maintenance. A functional and utilitarian museum piece that will drive the family to car events in American style.

Chassis: VC57J178314 Engine: 265 cid OHV V-8 Cylinder Motor 2 Barrel Carburetor /162 bhp Automatic Transmission Four Wheel Hydraulic Drum Brakes

The Model: One of the most iconic automotive designs ever is the 1957 Chevrolet, as American as baseball, hot dogs and apple pie. After the beautiful 1955 Chevrolet’s had wowed the American motorists, it was going to be a tough act to follow, but then the facelifted 1956 edition came out and found similar acceptance in the market. For the 1957 model, Chevrolet stylist were worried with rumors flying there would be an entirely new Ford to go up against. But the final design won everyone’s approval at GM from Harley Earl down, and most importantly at the dealerships too. Combined with the good looks was the Chevrolet’s first use of optional fuel injection, and for the first time in the brand’s history, one horsepower per cubic inch was attainable. While this engine might have been aimed at the sporty Corvette, a number of these units made it into full-size models, and nothing sizzled like a utilitarian Bel Air wagon tearing up the pavement with this small-block surprise.

Authentic Shelby Continuation Factory Aluminum Body Fitted Performance Upgrades Knock Off Wheels and Roll Bar

The Model: When Carroll Shelby unleashed the Cobra, it was soon surrounding and devouring all of its competition. While the world of motorsports continued to progress in new directions, eventually these potent snakes on wheels were left behind. However, there was a generation that knew that the Cobra was truly the best sports car ever produced in America, maybe even the world. Within a few years of Shelby America’s decision to halt production, a number of Cobra replicas started to show up on the market. In the 1990’s, when Cobra fever hit a high, good old Carroll Shelby decided he had enough of “wannabe” Cobras flooding the market, many carrying his name. If the performance car public wanted a new Shelby Cobra, then he would be making them. The Car: Manufacturer to exact original specifications by Shelby this Authentic CSX 7000 Series was first sold to a collector dealer in San Antonio, Texas, it was then sold to a prominent Mexican collector. Fitted with competition options like roll bar and fire suppression system. Well cared for and excellent running condition.

The Model: The Boxster is a mid-engined two-seater roadster built by Porsche. The Boxster’s name is derived from the word “boxer”, referring to the vehicle’s flat or “boxer” engine, and the word “roadster”, referring to the vehicle’s two-seater capacity and convertible top. The Boxster is Porsche’s first road vehicle to be originally designed as a roadster since the 550 Spyder. The first-generation Boxster (the 986) was introduced in late 1996; it was powered by a 2.5-litre flat six-cylinder engine. The design was heavily influenced by the 1992 Boxster Concept. In 2000, the base model was upgraded to a 2.7-litre engine and the new Boxster S variant was introduced with a 3.2-litre engine. Production of the 986 began at the former Porsche 928 facility in Stuttgart, Germany in 1996. Valmet Automotive also manufactured Boxsters under contract to Porsche at a facility in Uusikaupunki, Finland. The Boxster was Porsche’s biggest volume seller from its introduction in 1996 until the company introduced the Cayenne sport utility vehicle in 2003. As of September 2012, additional production of the 981 started at the former Karmann-factory in Osnabrück.

High Quality Restoration

Professional Mechanical Recommission Chassis Number: S680120 Mileage: 98,395 Miles Showing

The Model: The XK120 was launched in open two-seater or roadster form at the 1948 London Motor Show as a testbed and show car for the new Jaguar XK engine. The roadster caused a sensation, which persuaded Jaguar founder and design boss William Lyons to put it into production. Beginning in 1948, the first 242 cars wore wood-framed open 2-seater bodies with aluminium panels. Production switched to the 1cwt or 112 lb heavier all-steel in early 1950. The “120” in the name referred to the aluminium car’s 120 mph top speed, which made it the world’s fastest production car at the time of its launch. In 1954, NASCAR held a road-course race in New Jersey which would mark the only time a non-American built won a NASCAR event, the win going to an XK120 coupe.

The Car: With well executed panel fit underneath the nearly perfect Dove grey paint on this XK1210 shines nicely and will serve a new owner well. The black top and wire wheels nicely complement the exterior of the car, both also ready to continue service. Inside, the eye in immediately drawn to the burled walnut dash that houses the Smiths instruments. The red leather seats with color matched piping presents nicely is aging gracefully. Under the long, sleek bonnet the 3.4 liter is tuned up and ready to run. Included with the car is the spare tire and a toolkit. XKs made a splash when the first hit the market and continue to leave their mark today. No collection is complete without one...or two. 35

ot 17 L The Model: The perennial Mercedes-Benz R107 series is one of the most iconic luxury cars of the 70s and 80s. In movies and television the SL roadster was often the car seen cruising Rodeo Drive or through Miami Beach. It was a car that defined the marque and the era. Such was its enduring charm; it is surprising to recall the car was first introduced back in 1971. Known internally and by loyal fans as the R107 the car was designed in house at Sindelfingen by Karl Wilfert and his team. The styling was understated but elegant and highly sophisticated. Mercedes-Benz’s obsession with occupant and pedestrian safety through the 1960s led to a great number of subtle yet important design features that would trickle down to the rest of the line during the coming two decades. The SL roadster spoke to a new breed of luxury roadster buyers and went on to become the longest-running production passenger car in Mercedes history. Mechanically the R107 took a page from its predecessors riding on a unique platform but sharing engines and suspension components with its sedan counterparts. It was also incredibly well-built with a solidity and over-engineered feeling that few manufacturers past or present could match. Through the years of production Mercedes continually refined the formula adding ever increasing displacement V8 engines improved materials and refined design. The ultimate model in the R107 SL range is the 560SL. The big 5.6 liter V8 from the S-Class was shoehorned into the SL s engine bay to create a sporting car that was capable of 150mph performance while remaining quiet composed and sophisticated. It was the sports car for those who preferred not be ruffled when arriving at the club in style.

The rear fenders were commonly referred to as “chipmunk cheeks”. This concept was used for two years, but did not spawn any imitators. Series 62 Eldorados (as distinct from the Series 70 Eldorado Brougham) were further distinguished by the model name above a V-shaped rear deck ornament and on the front fenders. The rear fender and deck contour was trimmed with broad, sculptured stainless steel beauty panels. Also seen were “shark” style fins pointing towards the back of the cars. A three section built in front bumper was another exclusive trait of the Series 62 Eldorados, which came with a long list of standard features.

Skyliner was offered in only a handful of color selections of which this example is finished in Dovetone Gray. Under the hood the new overhead-valve V8 powered these cars with 20 more horses than the previous year’s flathead V8, using nearly identical displacement figures. Fitted with Ford-O-Matic transmission, this was the height of power and driving enjoyment. The ultimate drive for this car would be on a clear moonlit night, finding a rural setting and watching the stars go by through the roof of your own 1954 Ford Skyliner.

The Model: While 1949 might have brought out the most changed Ford since the 1928 Model A, and all-new sheet metal had arrived in 1952, for those who looked past the outside of the car, they found a whole new car. Ball-joint front suspension greatly improved handling, and the introduction of the first overhead valve V8 in the low-priced three, made Ford the one to follow. But it was the car’s design features that captured customers and the new Skyliner’s “seethrough top” fell right into the “Jet-Age” that buyers were looking for. Featuring a dark green, heavy-duty Plexiglass panel, it replaced the steel covering for the front half of the roof. Realizing how uncomfortable this could become on sunny warm days, a snap-in liner was provided to keep temperatures at bay. While the advertised list price was $2,333 when equipped with the optional V8, just 17,762 of these cars rolled off the assembly line.

The Model: In 1958, Alfa came out with a new sedan, which, with its larger 1,975cc engine, was called the 2000. There was, not surprisingly, a 2000 Spider, designed and built by Touring, and a 2000 Sprint Coupe done by Bertone, the latter introduced in 1960. The 2000 sedan had the uncommon feature of a column-mounted shifter for its five-speed transmission, while the Spider and Sprint retained the more sporting-oriented floor-mounted gear shift. The 1975cc four-cylinder engine, with duplex-chain driven twin overhead camshafts, hemispherical combustion chambers, and a pair of side-draft Solex carburetors, was tuned to deliver 131 horsepower, allowing the Touring-bodied roadster to easily exceed 100 mph. Its fully-synchronized five-speed transmission allowed fairly relaxed high-speed touring, and its large Alfin drum brakes were very effective for their day. The Car: This 1962 was one of the last 2000’s built with a minor change of the two functional hood scoops. Luckily Alfa did not change the split front bumper configuration that gives the car a great look. In addition, side vent windows were not added to the interim model change. These last cars were built in 1961, however were titled as 1962 models when sold. This particular California car is truly rust free top to bottom as the pictures show. The five speed transmission is mated to the very reliable and strong 2000 liter 4 cylinder motor for wonderful highway cruising. It drives and shifts perfectly through all 5 gears. Alfa Romeo designed the 2000 for just that purpose, as it was heavier than the smaller Giulia models. Finished in Alfa red with red and black leather interior, it makes a great statement. Seat belts have been added to the front and rear.

The Model: The GT40 story is a tale of how the underdog beat the giant. Known and loved by car enthusiasts around the world, it is a story of perseverance and triumph against the odds; a real-life legend. Henry Ford II, as an automotive magnate confined to spectatorship, expressed interest in a partnership with Enzo Ferrari and the pair brokered a deal that culminated in the imminent sale of Ferrari to Ford Motor Company in 1963. However, the deal was ill-fated and Ferrari severed ties at the 11th hours after millions of dollars in legal fees had changed hands. In 1963 Henry Ford established Ford Advanced Vehicles (FAV) specifically for the development of the forthcoming racing car, under the direction of John Wyer. The name “GT40” was coined from the production numbers of the subsequent cars, the GT for “Grand Touring” and the 40 representing the total height of the car in inches – a requirement for international endurance racing at the time. Winning the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans beating the Ford GT40 legend lives on today and the tale of triumph continues to inspire as it did decades ago.

The Car: This car is a faithful recreation of chassis number 1083—once owned and driven by Wilson Fittipaldi. The coachwork of the RCR GT40 is a precise recreation of the original GT40 Mk1—after all, the tooling was cast from an original car. It’s decked-out in period-correct livery with the appropriate vinyl vintage decals, Ford Racing Red and Wimbledon White paint. This reproduction is one of the most published cars of its kind. Built for the track, but street legal. This car comes with an extra set of track wheels (BRM Vintage) and tires (Hoosier). The engine is built with an aluminum 8.7 deck, Ford SVO 302, which produces 630hp (Dyno Tested). The gearbox is the coveted ZF 5-speed just like in the original. It has been completely & professionally rebuilt and all internals have been safety wired. From the driver’s seat, you can adjust the front/rear brake bias on the fly, you can activate the fire suppression system and you can monitor the vital statistics. The 6-point roll cage is unobtrusive and barely visible. Some of the instrument gauges serve two functions—for example, the oil temperature gauge will read the engine oil temp or the transaxle oil temp when you flick the toggle. The speedometer is an extremely accurate 200 mph device! In addition to those gauges, you can also monitor the fuel level for both tanks, the fuel pressure, oil pressure, volts, and water temp all going in and out of the engine.

The Model – While Sir William Lyons hand had guided the designs of Jaguar since the end of WWII, pioneering streamline designs were becoming as sleek as one can imagine and the talented hand of a little known about stylist, Malcolm Sayer, created a design that today, more than 50 years later, is still the watermark of form following function in the automotive world. Officially known as the “E-Type” to most Americans the moniker XKE is much more common and in the current world of quality collector cars, these sleek little “Open Two-Seaters” have because sought after. During the run of the E-type the basic styling was retrained, though simple improvements were always being made. The purist form of this car is with the 3.8 Liter engine.

The Model: Chevrolet swung for the fences when they developed the ZR-1. It would be their attempt to dominate the sports car market, and it did take leaps and bounds in modernizing their flagship sports car. The C4 ushered in modern suspension, tuned port fuel injection and a more subdued shape with celebrated aerodynamics that offered a fresh American sports car from the dated lines of the C3. Partnering with the Lotus Group, the Corvette folks developed what would be the heart of the ZR-1, the all-new LT-5. The wildly modern engine design was powerful and reasonably efficient with 16 injectors, which at full blast delivered 405 HP to the 275/40ZR17s on the 11-inch wheels. In order to house those extra meaty tires, the designers gave the ZR-1 its most distinguishing feature by widening the car. Suspension upgrades were also made, making the ZR-1 handle as well as it accelerated. It should be noted that its MSRP price tag was nearly double from the base model and customers were known to have paid in excess of $20,000 above MSRP to get their hands on a ZR-1.

The Car: This limited production ZR-1 sports the original and classic color combination of the “little red corvette. ZR-1s are in fact bigger as they were factory built for the track with massive rear tires and factory wider suspension stand making the car inches wider overall than its standard C4 counterpart. Equipped with an adjustable steering wheel, air conditioning, cruise control, fog lights, heated mirrors, power locks, power mirrors, power seats, power steering, power windows, and a premium sound system this is a drivers dream!

The Model: The first prototype was tested in January 1989. It debuted in 1991 with two pre-production models as the pace car for the Indianapolis 500 when Dodge was forced to substitute it in place of the Japanese-built Dodge Stealth because of complaints from the United Auto Workers, and went on sale in January 1992 as the RT/10 Roadster. The centerpiece of the car was its engine. Lamborghini, then owned by Chrysler Corporation, helped with the casting of the V10 out of aluminum alloy for the Viper, which was based on the Chrysler LA V8 engine. It completes a quarter mile (402 m) in 12.6 seconds and has a maximum speed of over 150 mph (240 km/h). Its large tires allow the car to average close to one lateral g in corners, placing it among the elite cars of its day. The Viper was engineered to be a performance car, with no exterior-mounted door handles or key cylinders (to enter the Viper, you would unzip a soft vinyl window, and reach into the interior to pull the interior door release handle), and no air conditioning, this was later added as an option in later model Vipers. However, the Viper was still equipped with some features in order to allow it to be tolerable as a daily driver. Some of these features included manually-adjustable sport leather-trimmed bucket seats with lumbar support, an A/M-F/M stereo cassette player with clock and high-fidelity sound system, and interior carpeting. Aluminum-alloy wheels were larger in diameter due to the larger brakes. A lightweight fiberglass hard roof option on later models was also available to cover the canvas soft roof, and shipped with each new Viper. There were also no airbags, in the interest of weight reduction. 59 59

The Model: In order to achieve a more comfortable Grand Tourer, the cockpit is more generous than the 250 GT Berlinetta “Tour de France”, thanks to an increase of almost a foot in length and just over two inches in width. The interior layout of the 250 GTE is luxurious with things like the rear seats separated by a central armrest with an ashtray. The dashboard is covered with a black leather while the eight instruments, circled with chrome Veglia, informing the driver of the condition of the engine are integrated into a panel usually of the color of the bodywork. Compared to the PF Coupé, the trunk volume is increased to potentially accommodate the luggage of four people. To increase its sales of passenger vehicles and thus finance its very expensive racing scuderia, Ferrari decided to develop an automobile capable of attracting a new clientele, eager to combine the functionality with sportiness of a GT4. Described as “a passenger car not only big, but also glorious” the 250 GTE was the best-selling Ferrari of its time.

62

The Car: The 246th example built, 2919 GT is a late Series I GTE distinguished by its grille-mounted driving lights, threelight taillamps, and revised Series II-style dashboard treatment. With largely original paint having only a few small areas of touchup. The interior is spectacularly well preserved, with nearly all of the original upholstery, carpets, and headliner intact. Wonderful period details abound, from the Blaupunkt radio in the console. A mechanical restoration was done in the late 1970s and it has been very well maintained since. The inspected paintwork appears to be largely original, with an area of visible blending on the right rear fender. Likely one of the few remaining GTEs in exceptional, unrestored condition, 2919 GT possesses a charming patina throughout.

The first owner, Mr. Alexander, took delivery of the new Ferrari in Italy and then air freighted the car to his home in San Francisco. Serviced and maintained by local dealer Charles Rezzaghi Motors, 2919 GT remained with Mr. Alexander until spring 1966, when it was sold to Betty Wyars of Wasco, Oregon. Mrs. Wyars kept the GTE for more than a decade and then advertised it for sale in the Oregonian, asking $10,000 for a car she described as being “in mint condition, all original, 50,000 miles.” In August 1977, David Martin of Beaverton, Oregon, acquired 2919 GT and it remained in his family’s ownership for over three decades. The white 250 GTE was a frequent sight at local Ferrari events and classic car shows until the early 1990s, when it was retired from regular use and stored in the family garage. The sale of this time-capsule Ferrari is accompanied by an impressive file of supporting documentation that includes receipts, correspondence, photos, and registration records, some dating as far back as Betty Wyars’ ownership. A history report compiled by Marcel Massini, an owner’s manual, and a tool roll are also included with the GTE. A classic 250 Ferrari with a delightful history and an irreplaceable character, 2919 GT is among the most appealing GTEs to be found.

Factory Built with Corvette Drivetrain Italian-American Essentially Ferrari and Corvette Hybrid

The Model: Originally founded in the 1930’s Iso, originally named Isothermos, was a leader in the production of refrigeration units. After the war, Renzo Rivolta had taken reigns and in 1953 refounded the company as Iso AutoVeicoli with the primary purpose of producing motorcars. Hitting a homerun with their first product, they had developed a little “bubble-car” known as the Isetta. In reality, Iso profited more from the licensing fees collected from other manufacturers that built the little Isetta under license, like BMW, which found out-standing success with the little front-door opening coupes. In 1963 the Iso Rivolta was born, featuring a modern contemporary design that many consider Giugiaro’s finest work. The Rivolta was a marriage of fine Italian coachwork and proven American horsepower from Chevrolet sourced 327 V8’s. Designed to be a Grand Tourer, its suspension used uneven front linkage set-up connected to a sturdy sway bar, aided by a rear suspension comprised of twin trailing arms combined with De Dion rear axle and Watt’s linkage. Coils, shocks and disc brakes were found on all four corners. Production was limited and today the Rivolta is highly sought-after, described by many as a dependable Ferrari with same coachwork fit and finish as the prancing horse with known reliability and power of Corvette. The Car: This car could be the muscular four-seats you may experience. No disappointments with this Rivolta as it was treated to a complete restoration that was completed in 2012. It is presented in a rich coffee-brown metallic with a soft beige leather interior that covers not only the luxurious seats, but also carried over to the door panels and the dash panel. The black-leather wrapped factory steering wheel is mounted ahead of a full set of gages that are all functional and easy to read. Under the hood, the Chevrolet 327 V8 has been refurbished and is reported to be in good running condition. Sitting level during a brief road-test this Rivolta performed just as it was designed with excellent acceleration, cornering and braking abilities. It is ready for touring duties, ready to deliver satisfying results in any service the new owner desires.

The Estafette’s emphasis was always on economy and practicality rather than on power or heavy-duty performance. The Renault Estafette was a light commercial front-wheel drive van, initially using the water-cooled Renault Ventoux engine, then later the Cléon-Fonte engine in a range of body styles. Following the launch of the Estafette, Renault became the only automaker in the world to simultaneously produce and sell vehicles with all three of the drivetrain configurations commonly used, with the front engined front wheel drive Estafette, along with various rear engined rear wheel drive cars such as the Dauphine and the front engined rear wheel drive Frégate and the ageing Dauphinoise.

Rare 2 Suicide Door Coach Version

Single Family Ownership Since 1973

Original Well Preserved

The Model: The Peugeot 402 is a large family car produced in Sochaux, France from 1935 to 1942 by Peugeot. The 402 was characterized by what became during the 1930s a “typically Peugeot” front end, with headlights well set back behind the grille. Streamlining was a feature of French car design in the 1930s, as can be seen by comparing the Citroën Traction Avant or some of the Bugatti models of the period with predecessor models. Peugeot was among the first volume manufacturers to apply streamlining to the extent exemplified by the 402. Even by 1930s standards, the range of different 402 models based on the single chassis was large, comprising at one stage, by one estimate, sixteen different body types, from expensive steel bodied convertible cars, to family saloons which were among the most spacious produced in France. The Car - This is a rare 2-door, 6 seater coach. Originally delivered new in France, on August 7, 1938. Restored some time ago, it sports a later B version grille and the light green paint presents well with well-preserved green trim lines. The upholstery has been completely redone in cloth. After sitting for several years it has been brought back to life and is running well. A rather unusual car, this elegant coach version will ensure its future owner to travel in an efficient, original and reliable pre-war machine.

The Model: In the final iteration of the “Ponton”, the 220S gave Benz buyers exactly what they wanted, especially in the Cabriolet models. As is usually the case, the finer things in life come with a hefty price tag. For the 220S, buyers could expect to pay a full 75 percent more for the distinction of driving the company’s flagship model. Inside, the product of a quality, if older restoration, shows little to no wear. The upholstery appears to have been rarely sat on and is accented with mostly original woodwork. Behind the distinctive grille, the engine bay is well maintained and houses the pampered 2.2-liter engine. This top-model nearly perfectly preserves the history of one of the legendary brands of both car collecting and modern motoring. 71 W W W. M O T O S T A L G I A . C O M

A California Car For Most of Its Life Matching Numbers Engine Borrani Wire Wheels / Nardi Steering Wheel Usable Classic Italian Performance The Car: Introduced at the Brussels Motor Show of January 1964, Ferrari’s 330 GT 2+2 was the replacement for the outgoing 250 GT 2+2, and it notably elevated the prior four-seat platform with advanced mechanical elements and improved aesthetics. Most importantly, the new model received a larger and more powerful version of the Colombo short-block engine that displaced 4.0 liters and was good for 300 horsepower. Factory driver Mike Parkes was a key contributor to the 330’s development, even claiming credit for the eye-catching dual-headlamp front fascia.

The Model: The product of long term ownership, this GT is wearing an older, but quality repaint in a correct Amaranto hue with correct and consistent gaps. A California car for most of its life, from 1973 to 2012, the 4 seater has been regularly treated to proper care and maintenance, with an engine-out rebuild and mechanical freshening completed by Luiz Ferraria Inc in 1990. Inside the black, plush leather seats for four remain full of life, complemented by a a crackfree wooden steering wheel and dash. Delivered new through Luigi Chinetti Motors, Inc. in Greenwich, CT this italian was built to U.S. specifications and has optional power windows. The numbers-matching V-12 nestled under the hood runs well and has seen limited mileage since it was refreshed. The demand for early V12 Ferraris has been steadily growing and shows no signs of relenting. Great opportunity to grab this largely original car before quality examples have all been snached up.

Millennium Metallico Roadster, this final edition Roadster was first announced to U.S. Lamborghini dealers in November 1999 and shown at the Detroit Auto Show in early 2000. Total production was 30 worldwide, with a limited series of just 10 cars for the United States market. These U.S. cars were only finished in an exclusive Millennium Titanium paint color and were fitted with a bare carbon fiber rear wing. The interiors were a combination of black and light grey leather which helped brighten the look. Another unique addition to the Millennium Roadster was the use of the Diablo SV’s 1:2.53 ratio Bevel gear type differential (while still retaining the VT drivetrain) instead of the usual VT 1:2.41 ratio which gave this particular Diablo Roadster a phenomenal driving experience with quicker acceleration compared to all previous VT Roadsters.

The Car: Formed in the only color offered, Millennium Titanium, this Italian bull’s finish is factory correct. Lacking a contrasting trim the exotic lines speak for themselves. With just 8,370 miles showing on the clock, this complete-and-correct exotic is a showroom example of Lamborghinis first modern supercar. Featuring the finest Italian hides the interior is hand-tooled leather, black and light grey leather in hue and in nearly perfect in condition. This Diablo comes with all of the creature comforts you can not live without like full climate control, power mirrors and locks and even a tilt wheel. The V12 power plant, the heart of this fierce bull, is well maintained and ready to hit the road. With only 10 originally exported to the United States, now is the time to capture a rare and final tribute to the roadster.

The Model: Easily recognized by it elongated hood and low roof line the Jaguar E-Type has become something of a legend. It sported a twin cam engine in either 3.6 liter 4.2, but by 1969 was limited to the former. The E-Type was widely regarded for its good look, but also as reasonably priced sports car. Though the American model was relieved of it three SU carburetors rather being given a pair of strombergs, Jag still developed a reputation as a street machine.

The Car: The Brits have never been much for subtlety, and this eye-popping E-type is no different. This fixed-head coupe is restored from the ground up and dressed in fresh Carmen red paint, gleaming chrome wire-wheels wrapped with nostalgic red-line tires. Only 500 miles have been clocked since the refresh was completed, presenting a turnkey opportunity for a new owner. Configured as a 2+2, inside you’ll find four bucket-seats covered in fine black hides. The odometer tucked into the cluster of Smith gauges only shows 57,000 miles: the total distance the previous owner believes it traveled. Creature comforts abound inside with a Blaupunkt cassette stereo, and factory A/C. The legendary 4.2 under the hood wasn’t forgotten during the restoration. Tuned for the road the twin Strombergs and dual exhaust deliver an unmistakably Jaguar note when a curvy back road provides an opportunity to pin the pedal to the floor. Plucked from its home of 47 years, this E-type begging for a caring forever home.

1959 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL

The Model- One of the most impressive German sports cars to come to America in the early 1950’s was the mighty 300SL from Mercedes-Benz. Top importer Max Hoffman conveyed to the factory that a smaller, less expensive version of this legendary car, would generate strong sales in the USA. In less than five months, the prototype for the 190 SL was unveiled and as predicted, it was a success. Styling Many of the basic parts were sourced from other Mercedes models, such as the shortened chassis coming from the 180 sedan, which also contributed the front suspension, while the rear single-joint swing axle came from the 220 series. Between May 1955 to the end of production in February 1963, a total of 25,881 examples were produced, and with only a few minor modifications along the way.

The Model: The DB7, known internally as the NPX project, was made mostly with resources from Jaguar and had the financial backing of the Ford Motor Company, owner of Aston Martin from 1988 to 2007. The DB7’s platform is an evolution of the Jaguar XJS’s, though with many changes. The styling started life as the stillborn Jaguar F type designed by Keith Helfet. Ford cancelled this car and the general design was grafted onto an XJS platform. The styling received modest changes by Ian Callum so that it looked like an Aston Martin. The first generation Jaguar XK-8 also uses an evolution of the XJ-S/DB7 platform and the cars share a family resemblance, though the Aston Martin was significantly more expensive and unusual. In 1999, the more powerful DB7 V12 Vantage was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show. Its 5.9 litre, 48-valve, V12 engine produced 420 bhp and 400 lb ft of torque. It has a compression ratio of 10.3:1. Transmissions were available with either a TREMEC T-56 six speed manual or a ZF 5HP30 five speed automatic gearbox. Aston Martin claimed it had a top speed of either 186 mph with the manual gearbox or 165 mph with the automatic gearbox, and would accelerate from 0–60 mph in 4.9 seconds.

The Model: After the end of WWII, a number of small manufacturers in Europe began producing econ-o-mobiles, which Alec Issigonis call “bubble-cars”. They were cheap, reliability was a challenge, often quite uncomfortable and performance was a joke. Working with BMS, Issigonis would settle for a vehicle that remedied all those situations and the Mini was born. After the first units were sold in the early 1960’s, constant improvements were rolled into production models. A strange thing happened, some privateers began to enter the little Mini’s in road-rally events, and stranger yet, they were coming home as winners. Throughout the 1960’s and into the 1970’s, the legend of the Mini grew. Even after they had gone out of production, the British built Mini’s, and a number of other built under license in other countries became hot-ticket items for those wanting to 86 get into the world of rally racing. So popular that in 2002, under BMW leadership, the Mini marque was reborn and today thrives in the new-car market place around the world.

The Car: After the acquisition of Rover by BMW, it was decided that a limited series of Mini convertibles should be produced by the factory in order to rejuvenate the brand. They were particularly recognizable by their specific bumpers. Only 75 units of this model market were produced. The model on offer is a genuine factory convertible, bought new and registered by its last owner, which makes the car a firsthand. This charming little cabriolet has now done less than 51,000 miles. The body, in a dark green color with gold edging, is in good condition. The elegant interior is in beige leather, and it is well preserved. The grey canvas top has been replaced. In 2013, the rear brakes were refurbished and the ball joints replaced. The clutch was changed and the gearbox serviced in 2015 when the car had 48,000 miles on the clock. Four new shock absorbers were fit87 ted in 2017. This cabriolet is a rarity, both modern and delightfully retro. It will delight its new owner for city or beach drives. 87

Newly introduced to the american collector market

The Car: Simca or Société Industrielle de Mécanique et Carrosserie Automobile as they were known in their native France formed in order to build Fiats for the French car market since 1934. The Simca-Sport story begins at the Paris Motor Show in 1948, when Simca exhibits an elegant Pininfarina designed prototype, as requested by the brand. Enthusiastic by this car, the boss of Simca, Henri Pigozzi, decides to commercialize it and entrusts Facel Metallon to craft it. It returns to the exhibition the following year in coupe and convertible versions, with the Aronde substructure and the name Simca-Sport. These highly elegant cars remind us of the Cisitalia cars of the same era.

The Model: Originally introduced in 1949 this beautiful little sports car was designed by Pininfarina. This Simca 8 Sport was sold new in Portugal, made its way through Germany, and finally to the USA. The restoration was a while ago and the paint shows a wonderful patina. The interior and convertible top are in good condition. The engine is in good working condition and is equipped with a dual carburettor intake manifold and an aluminium oil sump.

The Model: When designers began designing the Z8, they had one building principal: to evoke memories of the BMW 507. That sporty Beemer from the late 60s featured a sporty stance, chrome side vents and a horizontal grille, and a V-8 engine, all traits that carried over to the design of the Z8. The younger, however, features an all-aluminum chassis and engine. That lightweight V-8 packed a punch, producing 400 HP and was positioned completely behind the front axle giving the car remarkable balance. Performance for the BMW, as measured by car mags of the time, would best the Ferrari 360 Modena in acceleration, handling and braking. At $128,000 to get it off the showroom floor though, it was only slightly more affordable than the Ferrari. The Car: The Titanium Silver paint shines like the day it left the factory a product of careful storage that only saw the roadster turn the clock to just over 8,000 miles. The factory supplied color-matched hardtop also still accompanies the car. The barley used black interior remains just as the BMW designers intended, clean and complete, making this a perfect candidate for the most discerning collectors. While the V-8 rarely gets out to stretch, the modern performer fires to life every time asked. While it would be tempting to grab this open-top performer and put it to the test on the back roads, but given the low miles and impeccable this BMW belongs in a proper collection, providing future generations a glimpse into the BMW legacy.

The Renault Caravelle is a sports car which was produced by the French manufacturer Renault between 1958 and 1968. Outside of North America and Britain it was, until 1962, marketed under the nameplate Renault Floride. Renault was envious of the growing success in North America of the Volkswagen Bug/Beetle and were looking for ways they might match the Volkswagen’s success with their own Renault Dauphine. At a convention of North American distributors that took place in Florida, Renault’s US dealers called for the creation of a Dauphine coupé/cabriolet which would improve Renault’s image in the critical US market. Renault’s chairman, Pierre Dreyfus, agreed, and since the concept had been born at a convention in Florida the car instantly became known within the company as the “Renault Floride”. The “Floride” name was considered unsuitable for 49 of the 50 states of the USA, however, since it could have implied disrespect to states other than Florida. For this reason an alternative name, “Caravelle”, was from the start used for North America and for other major markets, including the UK, where the principal language was a form of English.

All exterior components remain full of life and will serve the next owner well, as a part of a growing collection or as a driver’s car. The Model:For many, the 993 represents the pinnacle achievement of air-cooled Porsches. Even among these legendary cars, there are standout cars, such as the factory wide-body cars. The Carrera 4S (C4S) and Carrera S (C2S) carried the top-tune 285 bhp variant of the normally aspirated 3.6-liter boxer-six engine despite being built on the widebody turbo platform. Although the C4S shared the looks of the turbo cars, the 911 Turbos had distinct yellow calipers and carbon-fiber interior treatment that made them stand apart from normally-aspirated cars. Enthusiasts quickly recognized the what the C4S lacked in muscle, it made up in traction, without the temperament nature of turbo power.

The Model: Porsche introduced the 944 in 1982. It was slightly faster than the 924, the 944 was better equipped and more refined than the 924; it had better handling and stopping power, and was more comfortable to drive. The factory-claimed 0-60 mph time of less than 9 seconds and a top speed of 130 mph. The car had nearly even front to rear weight distribution thanks to the rear transaxle balancing out the engine in the front. North American-market cars have bigger bumpers and the front one has a larger rubber portion, replacing the auxiliary lights mounted there for the rest of the world. In 1985, the 944 underwent refinement which resulted in a new dash, upgraded alternator, cast alloy control arms, and larger fuel tank. The Car: Special ordered in graphite metallic and with just over 40,000 miles on the clock this example comes equipped with a host of rare options including: factory leather sport seats, limited slip differential, light weight Fuchs metal wheels, sport shock absorbers & stabilizers and an electric sunroof. The original graphite metallic paint has been artfully preserved, with a deep shine free of any significant flaws. Other than a respray on the front bumper in 2003 there are only a couple minute areas that have been touched up that would only be noticed under close inspection. Since 2003, about $10,000 worth of service receipts have been invested into the mechanics of this car, leaving no system unattended. The Model: Ferrari engaged Pininfarina design legend, Leonardo Fioravanti, to pen what has become one of Ferrari’s most iconic shapes as a replacement for the popular 246 Dino. Fioravanti surprised the world with his curvaceous design that contrasted sharply with the angular 308 2+3. The gorgeous design was an instant hit at the 1975 Paris Motor Show. While the design impressed, performance was lackluster. The complex four-cam 90-degree V-8 provided the power and impressive growl, but lost much to emissions restrictions. Ferrari responded with the new Quattrovalvole V-8 which raised output to 230 bhp and could power the GTS to 152 mph. V-8 Ferraris were long-disdained by collectors in favor of V-12 cars. Today, the 308 GTS QV is now seen by collectors as one of Ferrari’s greats. The Car:This 308 GTS is presented in brilliant top quality condition. The Model:In late 1989, the 911 underwent a major evolution with the introduction of the Type 964. With technologies from the 959 model, this would be an important car for Porsche, since the world economy was undergoing recession and the company could not rely on its image alone. It was launched as the Carrera 4, the “4” indicating four-wheel-drive, demonstrating the company’s commitment to engineering. A rear spoiler deployed at high speed, preserving the purity of line when the vehicle was at rest. The chassis was redesigned overall. Coil springs, ABS brakes and power steering made their debut. The engine was increased in size to 3600 cc and developed 250 PS. The rear-wheel-drive version, the Carrera 2, arrived a year later. In 1990, Porsche introduced the ahead-of-its-time Tiptronic automatic transmission in the 964 Carrera 2, featuring adaptive electronic management and full manual control. The 964 was one of the first cars in the world offered with dual airbags standard (from 1991), the first being the Porsche 944 Turbo (from 1987). W W W. M O T O S T A L G I A . C O M

The Car: With the presentation of the Porsche 911 Type 964 in 1989, the 911 Targa was for the first time in its history also available with all-wheel drive. At the same time the 964 Targa was the last 911 Targa, which had the classic removable Targa roof with safety bar and glass rear window, the successor models since the 993 Targa were and will be offered only with the panoramic glass roof. Fitted with cruise control amplified stereo system. Offered with new tires accompanied with its original books and manuals.

ot 57 L The Model: What can you say about Aston Martin, except they know class and they know sports cars? When first released it carried all the classic lines, long hood, swept-back windshield, short rear deck and typical angular body lines. But under the hood, the story was a bit better. 460 HP is transferred to the ground via improved suspension, rack and pinion steering and has it a braking system that could stop on a dime, or in the UK a farthing. If you enjoy a classic combination of sensuous sheet metal and a well-connected chassis, the V12 Vantage will not appoint.

The Model – The elegant Silver Wraith II evolved as the long wheel base derivative of the Silver Shadow that originated in 1965. Born in response to criticism of the manufacturer’s resistance to innovation, the Silver Shadow and Silver Wraith II introduced power disk brakes and independent rear suspension to the model line. These were the first Rolls-Royce cars to incorporate a monocoque body. The design represented a dramatic styling change for the company as well. Unlike most manufacturers in Great Britain, the domestic market still represented almost half of the sales volume. To this end, the narrow roads drove the design team to produce a car that was smaller than the car it replaced. Despite the smaller exterior dimensions, the adaptation of unitary construction actually increased the available passenger space. The single most innovative feature of the car was the high-pressure hydraulic system licensed from Citroën that delivered not only dual-circuit braking but also performed self-levelling of the suspension. Although Rolls-Royce realized an outstanding level of ride comfort with this system, it often proved unreliable in service. Rolls-Royce introduced a long-wheelbase version of the Silver Shadow that was later given its own name, the Silver Wraith II for the 1976 model year as it gained further distinction from the Silver Shadow with the addition of an Everflex-covered roof and a rear opera window.

The Model: The Opel Speedster is a British built mid-engined, targa-topped, two seat sports car sold by the German automaker Opel, introduced in July 2000. In October 1999, they struck a deal with General Motors in order to have sufficient investment for a new car. As part of the deal, Lotus agreed to develop and produce the Opel Speedster and Vauxhall VX220 on the new Series 2 Elise chassis. Whilst the new Elise would use a 1.8 litre Toyota engine, similar to that found in the Toyota Celica, the Speedster was designed to use a 2.2 litre GM Ecotec engine from the Opel Astra. Production of the Speedster commenced in March 2001. The Speedster utilizes an aluminium chassis tub that weighs only 159 lb. The car also features bodywork made entirely of glass-reinforced plastic (GRP). The entire car weighs only 1,929 lb, which made it 220 lb lighter than the similarly sized Toyota MR2. At launch, the Speedster’s all aluminium alloy 2.2 L Z22SE engine produced 147 hp.

The Model: The Simca Sport is a two seater sports car. It originated as a coupé version of the Simca 8, but with the arrival of the Aronde the Simca Sport acquired a new grill in October 1951. When the Aronde arrived it used a monocoque chassis which made the use of different bodies more difficult, therefore the sport version of the Aronde was only available as a coupé. Made by Facel, the Simca 9 Sport was outrageously expensive and cost more than a Porsche 356. A hand built aluminium body and details such as the three dimensional Jaeger instruments and chrome ornamentation inside the car reveals the incredible attention to detail of Facel-Vega and its founder Jean Daninos. Only around 96 cars are believed to have been built before the Coupé de Ville succeeded it. The Car: A nice patina thanks to an older but quality restoration. The dark green paint is in nice condition and attractively complements the biscuit-colored leather interior. The chrome is also in nice condition and the Robergel wheel rims gave a sporty touch to its elegant design. This Simca-Facel shows 59,750 km on the odometer. It combines perfectly rarity, elegance and reliability.

The Model: The 1959 Cadillac is remembered for its huge iconic tail fins with dual bullet tail lights. The new model year also saw two distinctive rooflines and roof pillar configurations, new jewel-like grille patterns and matching deck lid beauty panels. For 1959, the Series 6200 became the Series 62. The Series 62 was identifiable by its straight body rub moldings, running from front wheel opening to back bumpers, with crest medallions below the spear. Standard equipment included power brakes, power steering, automatic transmission, back-up lamps, windshield wipers, twospeed wipers, wheel discs, outside rearview mirror, vanity mirror and oil filter. The convertible model had power windows and a two-way power seat. Plain fender skirts covered the rear wheels and 4-doors were available in either four-window or six-window hardtop configurations. The Car: Finished in factory-correct Brenton Blue with its original black and white leather interior and a newer white top. This 1959 Cadillac Series 62 convertible matches all of the codes on the data plate. The original leather is in amazing supple condition. Equipped with a rare working factory air-conditioning system, power steering, power brakes, power windows, power seat, power top and factory radio. The professional repaint is exceptional and the body is incredibly straight and smooth. The frame, undercarriage and original floors are completely rust free. A totally new exhaust system was installed several years ago. Brightwork has been re-chromed to a very high quality finish and is show ready. It is obvious that this Cadillac has been cared for very well and it shows in every way. This car is a joy to drive!
